Benghazi Victim’s Mom Rips Hillary

On CNN, Mother Of Slain Benghazi Victim Excoriates Hillary Clinton: ‘I Blame Her’

Pat Smith, mother of slain State Department officer Sean Smith, who died in the September 11, 2012, attack on an American consulate in Benghazi, tore into the federal government and their efforts to investigate that deadly attack on Tuesday. In an interview with CNN host Jake Tapper, Smith said that she blames former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for failing to ensure her staff was secure and for not taking blame for that failure after they were killed in the line of duty.

“How are you holding up?” Tapper asked Smith.

“Terrible,” she replied as her voice broke with emotion. “I cry every night. I don’t sleep at night. I need answers.”

“Why was there no security for him when they were supposed to have security, and the security that they did have was called back?” Smith asked. “It’s just things do not add up and I’m just told lies.”

Tapper asked if Smith was concerned that the Benghazi investigation had been politicized. “Why don’t they just do their job?” Smith asked after agreeing that the investigation had become a political football.

“Have you heard from anybody in the Obama administration?” Tapper asked.

“I got one telephone call from a clerk that was a couple days after it happened,” Smith replied. “Since then, all they have told me is that I am not part of the immediate family so they don’t want to tell me anything.”

Tapper played a portion of former Sec. Clinton’s testimony before Congress in which she asked “what difference, at this point, does it make” what the impetus behind the attack on the consulate was.

“Well, that’s what I want to know,” Smith shot back. “Why did it happen? And she is in charge. Why couldn’t she do something about it? I blame her.”

“That’s her department. She’s supposed to be on top of it, and yet she claims that she knows nothing – it wasn’t told to her,” Smith said. “Who’s running the place?”

I generally don’t put much stock in what grieving families have to say. Of course they’re upset, who wouldn’t be? But this woman deserves answers. So do we.

What really disgusts me isn’t the cold shoulder she has received, it’s knowing that if there was any political mileage to be gained from it this woman would be a regular guest at the White House – she might even have sat next to Michelle during the State of the Union address.

Heartless bastards.

This woman is fighting for answers and gets nothing but silence.
When Cindy Sheehan wanted answers the left was all over it. I did not like the way Cindy Sheehan was used but America knew of her fight. How many know of the fight for answers that Pat Smith is waging?

The families do deserve answers. Their sons and brothers were left to die by a government that they took an oath to uphold. Now that government is in hiding like cowards rather than give truthful answers as to why and who did this.

Sometimes the people who are serving our country die. We don’t want them to die, but it happens. Sometimes their deaths are heroic, and sometimes they get killed in training or by friendly fire.

No matter how they die the cost of their sacrifice is the same. Their families deserve answers and to know whether their loved one’s sacrifice was in vain. Our government must be accountable to us.

Yeah, well, don’t hold your breath on that unless blue is your colour.

I really feel for Pat Smith – last time I heard her interviewed on Hannity’s radio show I started tearing up.

And when does a mom stop being a member of the immediate family? When the son/daughter turns 21? When they get married? I’m confused.

        I’m glad Tapper interviewed her.

My family and my husband’s family received phone calls and personal letters from Presidents and other members of the Gov when we lost family members. I know because they were all framed and up on the walls. To receive nothing but a call from a clerk reinforces the idea that the Gov simply doesn’t care.

At some point even the mightiest tree will fall. All you need to do is keep on chopping. Thoughts and prayers to all those with axes, large and small. If these repulsive criminals aren’t held to account, democracy truly is dead.

a commenter at Rev Amy’s place compared Benghazi to The Alamo. that is so true.

both asked for help and were denied. Both had men that fought bravely

Oh, now CNN & Tapper (who, granted is marginally better than most of the inside the beltway reporters) want to talk to her? She was there talking BEFORE the election but they certainly didn’t give a shit then. Now that the election is over they can pretend they are doing their jobs.

Also please note so was the father of the former SEAL who died — don’t expect they’ll be interviewing him because he talked (on FOX) how cold & disinterested Obama was when they met at Andrews AFB — looking over his head & not in his eyes.

Corrupt bastards — all of them.

you know the msm main job was to get backtrack re elected, not to let the public get any idea of something being wrong in Benghazi. The video was the cause and the video maker is in jail. all is right with the world

    • Karma says:

There was no time to talk to her before the election or do any investigative reporting. They were too busy smearing a presidential candidate for daring to have an opinion about a terrorist attack.

      And that was after they called Mitt a murderer. {headdesk}

think the obots will connect the cutting of hours with backtrack? or will this be Bush’s fault too?

  14. HELENK says:

this off beat story caught my interest.

so many flaky things about backtrack, and so few paid attention and those that did , no one paid attention

I rise today in praise of Majority Leader Harry Reid. Yesterday, our esteemed Majority Leader said the following — quote — ‘My friend from Texas is like the schoolyard bully. He pushes everyone around and is losing. And instead of playing the game according to the rules, he not only takes the ball home with him, but he changes the rules.’ Today, Leader Reid continued his demonstration of civility, referring to me as the — quote — ‘very junior Senator from Texas.’ As I noted yesterday, the Senate is not a schoolyard. Setting aside the irony of calling someone a bully and then shouting them down when they attempt to respond, today I wish simply to commend my friend from Nevada for his candor.

  20. Lulu says:
“I think the dam is about to break on Benghazi. We’re going to find a system failure before, during, and after the attacks.”

Lindsay Graham is a dumb ass. The systems in place didn’t fail. They were openly and callously ignored, manipulated, undermined and then selectively followed by ignoramuses and criminal hacks in the WH and placed strategically throughout government. The “systems” work just fine when someone else is president. This WH doesn’t follow ANY rules. And when they fuck up or get caught it is the “rules” fault. It is a diversion tactic and they need to be called on it. This WH doesn’t think they have to follow rules because they are too smart when they are really too stupid to walk (get Bronco re-elected) and chew gum (govern) at the same time. Besides Bronco probably needed a little choom and ESPN watching to relax so he checked out and delegated as usual. Who signed the stand down order or was that “system” just ignored too?

Imagine if the cops chasing the Bomber Brothers had to get permission from their chief before they could use their weapons, and the chief was only concerned about how it would affect his reelection.

Hey Chief! They’re throwing bombs at us! Can we shoot them?

      What kind of bombs?
