My Big Sister Is A Thespian

My OLDer Sister001

When we were kids she never missed an opportunity to rub my face in the fact that she was older than me. Nowadays I take great pleasure in reminding her of that fact.

But recently she got bitten by the acting bug.

This is an open thread.

So true! Being at work today I listened to NPR and they didn’t say a word about the Benghazi hearings. They did talk about rape in the military, Jodi Arias, the Cleveland women and other random stuff. I think it is frightening that the media refuses to cover this story. Who is leading their group think anyway?

      • leslie says:

I noticed the same thing. I had lots of driving to do and heard almost NOTHING about the hearings.

    off topic
I bought an electric chopper. wanted to chopped some nuts to coat fish before cooking.
I can not get it to start and in about two minutes it is going to hit the trash can.

The same people who think it’s the job of ambassadors to die because of Obama’s neglect fawned over Joe Wilson’s whistle-blowing and talked endlessly about Valarie Plame being in danger. Well, she’s rich and four Americans in Benghazi are dead.

I think the Vile Prog foreign policy is based upon adolescent fantasy that was never outgrown. If the middle eastern dick-taters could just be overthrown, then an Arab spring which would bring a Chicago ward system with rigged elections and plenty of graft with the really smart mid-eastern Vile Progs educated at Harvard in control (skimming off the top instead of Gaddafi and Musharraf) with green tech and lots of movies, everything would be great. The whole thing is like 14 year old boys talking while playing video games. The fact that thousands year old cultures are already there never enters their heads. The ignorance and hubris is unmatched.

    • myiq2xu says:

The Republicans mishandled the Benghazi whistleblowers’ hearing. What should have been stretched across several days to give the nation time to digest it all, was instead packed into a single day filled with an overwhelming amount of information. The media’s attention span is not that long. The verdict in the Jodi Arias trial came along in the afternoon and blew Benghazi off the networks, most of which didn’t want to cover it at all. Even Fox joined the drive-by media, taking Benghazi off the air in favor of the irrelevant Arias trial. Following the announcement of the Arias verdict, charges were read in the Cleveland kidnapping case. Those were aired live as well, relegating Benghazi again.

Speaking of “censorship,” v.R, it looks like CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson may be close to being fired. Her stories are being censored by CBS News executive management as being not in accordance with the White House’s preferred narrative, thus constituting “advocacy.”
    *******

Need a fucking spread sheet to keep track of the cover up players.

Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser, (He’s the 35 yo, jumped up Obama speech writer who’s qualification for security adviser is an NYU Masters in “fiction writing”) is said to be the WH person who coordinated the several revisions of the Susan Rice talking points and worked with Victoria Nuland at the Dept of State to get the Mohammed Video story on the air.

BTW, Ben Rhodes is the brother of David Rhodes, the 40 yo President of CBS News; I’m surprised that Sharyl Attkisson has lasted as long as she has.

  11. Somebody says:

I understand that the talking points were changed and I think it’s pretty obvious that they were changed for political reasons.

HOWEVER, what is the obsession with what Susan Rice said on the Sunday shows?? Maybe she knew she was lying maybe she didn’t, she’s a political hack carrying O’s water.

I am much more interested in the fact that the evening of the attack the SOS mentioned the video. Two days before Rice’s appearance the video was brought up in the hangar with the flag draped coffins. I’m far more offended by the SOS and POTUS peddling the bullshit story than I am the UN ambassador peddling it on Sunday talk shows.
http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2012/09/197628.htm This statement was posted at 10:38pm DC time….Clinton followed that up with a more extensive statement from the state department which is out there on youtube, both times making reference to the video.

Am I missing something??? Is there something MORE important about Susan Rice’s Sunday show appearances? To me it sure seems like the fix was in from that evening. Based on the testimony it’s clear that Clinton and officials in DC damn well knew it was Ansar Al Sharia or however you spell it. The Libyans knew and said it was Ansar Al Sharia, hell Ansar Al Sharia at that point had already taken credit on FB.

I’m not excusing Rice, but I think it’s pretty clear people higher up the food chain wanted that narrative advanced and in fact had already been advancing it.

Thespian reference reminds me of this.

Part of American political lore is the Smathers “redneck speech,” which Smathers reportedly delivered to a poorly educated audience. The “speech” was never given; it was a hoax dreamed up by one reporter. Time Magazine, during the campaign, falsely claimed that Smathers said this:

Are you aware that Claude Pepper is known all over Washington as a shameless extrovert? Not only that, but this man is reliably reported to practice nepotism with his sister-in-law, he has a brother who is a known homo sapiens,[6] and he has a sister who was once a thespian in wicked New York. Worst of all, it is an established fact that Mr. Pepper, before his marriage, habitually practiced celibacy.

The Smathers campaign denied his having made the speech, as did the reporters who covered his campaign, but the hoax followed Smathers to his death.

I feel all wrung out after listening to the testimonies today.
And incredibly sad at having the last shreds of my respect for Hillary stripped away.

    • Lulu says:

Me too and I had already given up on her but still wished her well in any future endeavors. Now she is just another dishonorable Democrat associated with Obama. Sad really.

      • Constance says:

Agree, I’ve had it with Hillary. Some of the Dem women I talk to are convinced she will run and the Dems will support her because Dems really want to advance women but not ahead of men of color. Even if that is the case Hillary has lost most of the Independents who don’t reflexively lap up the party line of BS and the Dems can’t win without them..

        • 49erDweet (D) says:

Hillary might run but in spite of all the bullet biting she’s done for glorious leader, since she is not a “woman of color” it will come to naught.

  14. NEWS FLASH! Went to the Dr. today and while watching TV and waiting discovered there was an important trial somewhere today——-but nothing else happened

  15. Somebody says:

Some of my take away from the hearings. I think we pretty much know what Clinton knew and when she knew it, that was laid out pretty well today in so far as the attack goes.

What wasn’t covered…..what did POTUS know and when did he know it. We’ve heard CIA was sending info, state was sending info, but we also heard Patrick Kennedy was basically a road block to FEST. Was he running interference for Clinton? Was he toeing the WH line? We didn’t find out enough to really know what happened at the WH that night, nor did we find out how high up the chain the stand down order was or if there was ever consideration for any military assets.

Another take away from today…..this entire Benghazi thing has aligned the obots and the clintonbots in ways I didn’t think possible. That combination may be enough to win Clinton the nomination.

I am shocked by people unwilling to see the truth. I don’t know if we’ll ever know all the facts, but I think it’s very clear that there was an effort to cover up the truth and mislead the public. I’ve been part of campaigns for politicians and a couple of them later had a fall from grace. As close as I was to them (close friend in one case) and as vested as I was in them, not once was I blind to facts. What is it about certain politicians that causes people to lose common sense??

      ……..

      Stunning, really.

      • Somebody says:

Stunning but true, merge the Clintonbots with the obots and you’ve got the nomination and very likely the general election.

        • Constance says:

No, they can’t win without Independents or some Republicans crossing over and If the Republican opponent has a brain they can elevate Benghazi to a level Independents won’t ignore.

Ever been watching a movie or television show and see an actor/actress you recognize but you can’t place where? Ever wonder what happened to what’s his name, the child star?

Here is the best reference: http://www.imdb.com/

    It’s all cross-referenced.
