Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

People Magazine named Gwyneth Paltrow as the Most Beautiful Woman In The World. Now Maxim Magazine has named Miley Cyrus as #1 on their Hot 100 listing. I mean no offense to either woman when I ask WTF?

I’m not saying either one is ugly, and they are both certainly better looking than me. But “Most Beautiful” and hottest?

Whatever. This is an open thread.

Some women have taken feminism to such ridiculous places, they make most women cringe. None of the things on that list are as important as the sexism on “The Smurfs”. I mean, there’s only one girl smurf and all those boy smurfs.

Same with Spongebob. Although I do find it funny that the one female character has to wear a diving suit to be in the same space as the male characters.

In the real world, when you cover up four murders after the fact, you likely go to jail. In government, you retire with dignity and run for president with full media support.

“The Obama White House sees every event as a political event. Really, every event, even an attack on a consulate and the killing of an ambassador.

Because of that, it could not tolerate the idea that the armed assault on the Benghazi consulate was a premeditated act of Islamist terrorism. That would carry a whole world of unhappy political implications, and demand certain actions. And the American presidential election was only eight weeks away. They wanted this problem to go away, or at least to bleed the meaning from it.
      …..
If what happened in Benghazi was not a planned and prolonged terrorist assault, if it was merely a street demonstration gone bad, the administration could not take military action to protect Americans there. You take military action in response to a planned and coordinated attack by armed combatants. You don’t if it’s an essentially meaningless street demonstration that came and went.”

This sums it up for me. I’m not sure what Hillary actually knew – but she certainly went along enough (sending Rice out suggests Hillary wouldn’t do it), tainted by the Administration she worked for. Probably damned if you do (what’s happening niw), and damned if you don’t (you are the scapegoat).

This administration is the most sinister ever….

Wow. Level-headed and straight forward. So out of place with the usual MSM BS and contorted word fogs that it almost takes one aback.

More Benghazi editorializing from the National Journal (left leaning) ….

    http://www.nationaljournal.com/politics/why-benghazi-is-a-blow-to-obama-and-clinton-20130509

Takes a shot at the GOP and Team Obama. A couple of points I disagree with, Joint Chiefs guy is hand picked by Obama, so no, I don’t believe there was nothing the military could do. And yes, this IS worse than Watergate, people died due to insufficient security. I think Hillary lied about not seeing the cable request from Stevens.

  5. DeniseVB says:

Whoa, ABC news found something proving the Benghazi talking points were changed from the original CIA report ….

The damn video is on auto-play, turn off/down your volume ….

I find all of the leaking interesting. Have the Bots lost control of the government? They are threatening people right and left and being told to GFY as bureaucrats refuse to talk to Democratic congresscritters and boldly appear in televised hearings. Has the bureaucracy finally realized that they are just peons and worker drones for the One and it doesn’t matter if they are killed? “What difference does it make” to the anointed? None. He and his appointed ones don’t give a shit. Revenge of the Mandarins on the amateur president sounds good.

LOL, I don’t get it either, myiq. There are tons of beautiful women in the world, so WTH?

The one I can’t stand is Nikki Manaj. Ai yi yi, she’s like fingernails on a chalkboard. I stopped watching American Idol because I had to have the mute button on the whole time, just to protect myself from her voice.

    • Constance says:

Hillary should have refused to go along with the coverup and should have resigned. It was the only way to stay clear of the Obama taint and the Obots have set her up to take the fall for Obama when it eventually comes. I really don’t think she is a viable Presidential candidate. Sure there are a lot of vapid Obots who will vote for whomever Obama anoints but I don’t think she can get the Independents or the cross over Republicans she had in 2008.

      • DeniseVB says:

I would have had so much more respect for her had she done that. My gut feeling she was blackmailed into going along with the Chicago mob (even back in 2008). Who knows, maybe her fall and bump on the head was a bit of a roughing up from Obama’s goons to send her a message? The timing was pretty convenient, eh?

We all know the media just makes crap up. They needed someone for this week’s magazines and ran out of other “hotties.” I’m continually amazed by how ridiculous mainstream conversation has all become.

    http://bigstory.ap.org/article/irs-apologizes-targeting-conservative-groups
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for inappropriately flagging conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status.

Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews.

Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati, was wrong and she apologized while speaking at a conference in Washington.

Many conservative groups complained during the election that they were being harassed by the IRS. They said the agency asked them an inordinate number of questions to justify their tax-exempt status.

Certain tax-exempt charitable groups can conduct political activities but it cannot be their primary activity.

    • Lulu says:

What is interesting is that she is telling it. You know she has gotten those kinds of calls from Dems for years and never made a peep. I still think any change of coverage is based on market economics with most in big media going broke. They gotta change their coverage or they will continue to have no viewers and crap ad rates.

      • Constance says:

Very true that they have lost their credibility and their viewers and FOX news just keeps gaining in the ratings.

  21. Constance says:

On the “most beautiful” lists… At least these women are good looking. It was only a few years ago that People had that loud mouthed old fart with bad hair Donald Trump as the “sexiest man”. Because men who run media have decided, by asking themselves, that women are not visual no doubt. And the most annoying thing for women media consumers about all these hot and beautiful women lists is the women media puts on them then go on to be sold as “leaders among women” but women had no part in picking them. I really don’t care what lists men’s media make they just keep out of my face with it.
