Does Darrell Issa Read This Blog?

He sure seems to like my advice.

NBC’s First Read:

On Benghazi probe, GOP’s Issa says ‘Hillary Clinton’s not a target’

A top GOP critic pushed back Sunday on charges that Republican efforts to investigate last year’s Benghazi attack are designed to inflict political damage on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton’s not a target,” said House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on NBC’s Meet the Press. “President Obama is not a target.”

Nobody should be the target. The only goal should be uncovering the truth. Then let the chips fall where they may. If Hillary ends up buried in chip she has no one but herself to blame.

But wait! There’s more!

Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat, said on Meet the Press that Issa’s panel has deliberately put Clinton’s ambitions in its crosshairs.

“My concern is when Hillary Clinton’s name is mentioned 32 times in a hearing, then the point of the hearing is to discredit the Secretary of State, who has very high popularity and may well be a candidate for president,” Feinstein said.

Sorry DiFi, but one of our diplomatic facilities was attacked and our ambassador was murdered. Then some lies were told to the public. The State Department was involved in every facet of this mess and Hillary Clinton was the Secretary of State.

They’re not gonna be talking about Mitt Romney.

Darrell understands that Hillary ain’t the boss. Sorry Bronco but you signed up to be the boss. You were elected not Hillary. Remember. Also Darrell was elected to watch you. Did you take civics in HS Bronco? Ever heard of Nixon?

    • DeniseVB says:

Of course Hillary’s not the boss. Ya think if a lowly sailor at the helm of a destroyer runs her aground, the CO of the ship blames him? NO. The CO of the ship is relieved of command !

This is not “political” Obama, it’s dereliction of duty.

  2. lyn says:

I have to laugh, because the Democrats are up in arms about Hillary and the mean Republicans. You A-holes took care of her in 2008.

  3. Agreed with Klown’s earlier advice even though he got some of the Nixon v. press details askew, but what should one expect from a kid’s memory, anyway? 🙂 Floating the I-word right now is stupid, particularly as to #Benghazi. This is the time to gather facts. Facts and economic factors will eventually cure the media-infatuation-leg-tingle problem. Going after facts is a-political. When enough facts emerge to overwhelm the national consciousness THAT would be the time to discuss options. Premature accusation will only make the national enlightenment task that much more difficult.

Do like the cops did in the Valley Springs, CA, stabbing mentioned last night. Shut up and gather facts. Don’t speculate or accuse. Report only what you’re forced to acknowledge until you’re ready to close the case with a complaint requesting a warrant. Of course with a divided house, good luck on keeping politicians away from microphones.

“The State Department was involved in every facet of this mess and Hillary Clinton was the Secretary of State…”

Except, I think the real story lies in the fact that the State Dept was not involved in every facet. Obama made Susan Rice’s position a cabinet position, not under the SOS. Then he sent her out to talk about a you tube video, not Hillary. The whole chain of command thing is all messed up.

I really don’t care how this case impacts Hillary, but I think making her the scapegoat leads us farther away from the truth. She went along to get along, but I suspect it was after the fact. Why? I don’t know.

    • myiq2xu says:

“Involved” does not mean “in charge”.

      • yttik says:

Yes, but it sure appears as if she were not involved either, and actually had to play catch up later, which she did and then totally covered up for Obama. What I want to know is, why was she originally left out of the loop?

      • DeniseVB says:

Like the IRS, State comes under Obama too? I’m blaming his white half too 😉

Since much of this is a CIA op and can’t be discussed in public. It leaves Hillary in a position where she can’t really defend herself without breaking the law. A huge disadvantage for any Clinton, not being able to talk about a subject.

So, the cynical side of me has wondered if this was the knife in the back on the way out the door we were all expecting. Instead of being branded a racist for life….it’s now Benghazi which will follow her.

While I have long thought this was probably Fast and Furious 2, I also wonder if muzzling a Clinton and tying her to a career ending scandal was a bonus.

Interesting tidbit, someone drew down the security by 2/3rds in May 2012, the same month that Bill Clinton started gaffing in Romney’s favor. And another tidbit all the people that Obama surrounded Hillary with, received promotions. They were the same people that would announce that State wasn’t Hillary’s within various articles, it was Obama’s.

Suddenly, the State Dept is all Hillary’s.

      • myiq2xu says:

Why not? It’s not exactly a secret anymore. The identities of some of the players should stay classified, but not what they were doing.

The bad guys know what was going on. Why can’t we?

Remember the “Secret War” in Laos? It wasn’t a secret to the Laotians. The North Vietnamese knew about it, so you can bet the Chinese and the USSR knew too. It was only a secret here.

Same old song and dance, it’s a ‘limited hangout’ to protect Obama, because it’s probably illegal.

And sadly, like Someone has posted previously, it could be that both sides of the aisle already know the truth and are taking us for a ride on the investigations. Unfortunately, with Issa there’s lots of bluster, but very few mounted heads above the fireplace. That guy makes me cynical too.

Anyway, I completely agree about being the last to know, it’s almost a given.

We had a neighbor who the VA kept denying a huge % of his disability since he was shot in the head in Laos and was sprayed with Agent Orange. Since the US military wasn’t in Laos, his injury didn’t happen. And since Agent Orange was safe those rashes, etc weren’t service related either.

Easier to deny than deal with the global or domestic implications.

            That kinda bullshit is criminal.

        • Karma says:

It really is criminal. Hiding those records delayed any kind of PTSD help so he would self-medicate. And when he finally received help. The meds made him feel vulnerable to attack so it was hard for him to stay on those.

He would wake up with his hands around his wife’s neck in a dream state/flashback. Even waking up from surgery could be an issue which his wife tried to warn the VA about but they ignored. They had to call her into the surgical room to calm him down. She was one of the only people who could get through to him in one of those states but was also a victim of it all. The lack of classification and fighting with the VA was like fighting another war which only added to their stress.

Anyway, he had a huge soft spot for the Hmong. He often talked about how they saved his life by packing his wounds with spiderwebs. They gave him better care.

I don’t want Obama impeached. I want him humiliated and ignored and the object of jokes. When he makes the 11 millionth speech no one comes and the public rolls their eyes. If he is impeached he becomes a martyr. If he isn’t and is humiliated he is just a stupid asshole.

    Let the Light Shine

Today we learned that our government targeted and harassed conservative Americans who simply wanted to be involved in the national discussion. Is it any wonder why Americans are so distrustful of D.C.? I’m sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night.

So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it’s supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally.

This IRS revelation is another step in the unraveling of the Obama administration’s self-proclaimed “hope and change.” Between the Benghazi cover-up and the IRS targeting Obama’s political opponents, we see the corruption at the heart of big government.

Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House’s latest Benghazi spin or the IRS’ fairness.

Despite all of this, I still believe that this “fundamental transformation of America” is temporary. This attempted transformation into a disheartened, weakened, unrecognizable nation is so far below anything Americans deserve. It becomes permanent only if we throw up our hands and surrender to the corruption and cover-ups.

We must demand more light shine on all that’s transpiring in D.C.’s self-absorbed bubble. On the IRS scandal, we must have accountability and a full investigation. On Benghazi, Speaker Boehner must create a Select Committee with full investigative and subpoena authority to get to the bottom of the cover-up. Keep the faith, friends.

CNN, CBS and ABC also all have stock holders and their viewership is declining. They should be worried about how much having a news division with absolutely no credibility and few viewers costs in lost profits.

    Stupid thoughts.

While driving Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Don’t Stop’ was playing on the radio. So I said to to hubby, Clinton got the band back together, a la The Blues Brothers.

Later Cypress Hill was on and all I could think of was their song, ‘How I Can Just Kill a Man’ for Obama’s theme song thanks to Benghazi and the stand down order.

The chorus goes “Here is something you can’t understand. How I can just kill a man.”
