Obama Gave Two Speeches Yesterday

Judging by the reaction at MSLSD Obama must have given two speeches yesterday and I saw the other one. Apparently the same person heckled him in both speeches.

This is an open thread.

OMG… I’m laughing my butt off at these commentaries. The Bush era is over, but I’ll bomb people with drones into infinity. Man, are they grasping at the smallest of straws to fluff his pillows.

Observations , Chris Hayes has obviously never seen any other president other than Obama . MSNBC loves squirrels , but wouldn’t mind killing them with drones .

Might be fun in high school (we did all the time), but this is a 7 year old boy! Never heard about it in the lower grades.

Nothing’s funnier than having the football team dress up as girl cheerleaders for the powderpuff games. I think they enjoyed it a little too much.

And after reading that article. It looks like even having a spitball war with straws would be an issue in England.

Roll over and show your belly….

    • Somebody says:

The British are technically subjects of the Queen, we fought a war so we could be independent citizens with inalienable rights.

The left would love to make us subjects again and take away many of our rights. If they succeed you could see something similar play out on the streets here. Followed by arresting people for their tweets deemed hate speech…..sheesh.

      • myiq2xu says:

That’s why Americans don’t bow or curtsy to royalty. We are all sovereigns here.

        Except for Obama.

You betcha’ it was staged 😉

It was so staged. You could tell by the way Obama started reading words off his teleprompter that explained to everyone what the heckler was doing.

I am watching Straw Dogs (the remake) in bits and pieces on DVR. It is one of those movies you have to watch 3 times to figure out what is happening.

I have been to the cemetery with my mom to put out flowers (we have quite a few family members there) then to Lowes to buy a bunch of mulch on sale (4 for $10) Now I am at home waiting to find out if my 16 year old female cat is going to die or not. She’s pretty sick and has no feeling in her RF paw. I’m not sure what happened.

      • votermom says:

        😦
        Sorry your cat is sick.

      • swanspirit says:

I hope your kitty gets better !

        • myiq2xu says:

It doesn’t look good. The vet said she’s permanently crippled. I’m just trying to make her comfortable and give her lots of love.

      • HELENK says:

sorry about you cat. hope there is no pain involved for her

      • Underwhelmed says:

Well, damn, Myiq2xu. That is sucky beyond the telling. I am so very sorry. Not long ago I went through a whole series of saying goodbye, since my little family, which had been a group for nearly 20 years, began to go. It hurts.

Mind you, one of my dogs was at death’s door with entire hind end paralysis, and he came back from that and went on to live another 7 great years. So you never know …

Whichever way it turns out, huge hugs to you.

      • foxyladi14 says:

I am so very sorry to hear that..

      • Karma says:

        Sorry about your fuzzy one.

If her regular food is too much my vet has often suggested meat baby food as being an excellent replacement meal for sick cats. Sounds like food is the last thing on her mind though. Hope she regains some measure of health.

I was actually thinking about your fuzzy guys the other day watching a show deal with invading cats.

      • myiq2xu says:

Death is a part of life. She is 16, which is really old for a cat. There really isn’t anything I can do except make her last days happy.

Even if there was some surgery that could make her better she would still be a 16 year old cat. She’s had a good life.

If she was in pain I would have the vet end it. But she doesn’t seem to be suffering.

        • swanspirit says:

My Nimue was 17 when she passed , she was just resting on the rug in the den close to me , she didn’t suffer, and went quietly . I couldn’t bear to part with her . She was a scaredy cat and didn’t like to wander anyway ;so I buried her myself in the backyard ( F the HOA ) and put a bamboo candle holder to mark her spot . I still miss her .

      • wmcb says:

Sorry about your kitty. 😦 It’s expected when they are old, but still hard.

      • angienc (D) says:

Sorry about the kitty, myiq. 😦

      • mcnorman says:

I’m so sorry myiq. I hope she can get through this. Poor little cat.

        • myiq2xu says:

She was a bottle baby when I brought her home. Some girls took her away from her mommy too soon. I had to bottle feed her and wipe her bum.

          She doesn’t know she’s a cat.

      • lyn says:

So sorry about your kitty, myiq. Giving her lots of love is the best thing for her and you.

      • leslie says:

I’m sad for you and for your kitty. I hope things get better for you both.

WTF is going on in this country?

    http://www.globalresearch.ca/illinois-illegally-seizes-bees-resistant-to-monsantos-roundup-kills-remaining-queens/5336210

The Illinois Ag Dept. illegally seized privately owned bees from renowned naturalist, Terrence Ingram, without providing him with a search warrant and before the court hearing on the matter, reports Prairie Advocate News.

Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto. Ingram was researching Roundup’s effects on bees, which he’s raised for 58 years. “They ruined 15 years of my research,” he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of his stock.

A certified letter from the Ag Dept.’s Apiary Inspection Supervisor, Steven D. Chard, stated:

“During a routine inspection of your honeybee colonies by … Inspectors Susan Kivikko and Eleanor Balson on October 23, 2011, the bacterial disease ‘American Foulbrood’ was detected in a number of colonies located behind your house…. Presence of the disease in some of your colonies was confirmed via test results from the USDA Bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland that analyzed samples collected from your apiary….”

Ingram can prove his bees did not have foulbrood, and planned to do so at a hearing set in April, but the state seized his bees at the end of March. They have not returned them and no one at the Ag Dept. seems to know where his bees are.

The bees could have been destroyed, or they could have been turned over to Monsanto to ascertain why some of his bees are resistant to Roundup. Without the bees as evidence, Ingram simply cannot defend against the phony charges of foulbrood.

Worse, all his queens died after Kivikko and Balson “inspected” his property, outside of his presence and without a warrant.

Of note, Illinois beekeepers are going underground after Ingram’s experience and refuse to register their hives, in case the state tries to steal their private property on phony claims.

    ….

    • wmcb says:

It’s the marriage of select corporations and the state, and everyone else is to be stomped to dust.

Note: the existence of lots and lots of vague regulations and “oversight” is too often the cover needed for the State to intervene in the lives of private citizens and businesses, on behalf of the favored Big Corp Boyz. It’s crap like this that makes me look askance at “regulation” as the solution to anything, as our govt INVARIABLY uses those well-intentioned regs as a bludgeon to punish and reward and advance agendas that have jack shit to do with safety or commerce.

Monsanto could not have done a damn thing to that beekeeper without the arm of the govt to do the dirtywork, with some handy “violations of safety regs”.

The more I see of the blatant abuse of power over the last decade, the more I lean toward severely curtailing Federal power. Not because I don’t think there might be good and helpful things that can be done with that power in theory, but because I have logically concluded that you can’t trust these fuckers with power. Period.. Not Bush, not Obama, not the D’s, not the R’s, none of them.

One of our bridges collapsed yesterday. I’m not sure who’s to blame, Republicans, global warming, the sequester, the Tea Party, Sarah Palin.

Anyway, it could have been so much worse. What strikes me as funny is the expression on people’s faces, calm, resigned, no panic or hysteria. “I’m sitting on top of my car floating down an icy river in Washington. Must be a Thursday.”

This is such a disaster. The I5 Skagit bridge carried 71,000 vehicles a day and is on the direct rout from Canada to Washington. Have you seen those little farm roads they are using as a detour? No way are those roads going to hold up to heavy trucks for long.
