Happy Father’s Day!

I may not be the best father in the world but I have some really great kids.

I just had some thoughts I wanted to add.

Fathering a child and being a father are not the same thing. A lot of men aren’t fathers, they are just sperm donors. Any healthy adult male with functional sexual organs can donate sperm. On the other hand you can be a father without ever had one of your sperm fertilize a woman’s egg.

Biology is the least part of fatherhood. As far as I am concerned there are two things you need to be a father. Both of these things are essential.

To be a father you need to care about a kid and you need to be there in that kid’s life. If you do those two things then you are a father. Everything else including a penis is optional.

  1. No matter how badly we blow it the first time around, we can usually make it up with the grandkids. Happy Fathers Day, klown.

Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful men who are big daddies! It’s quite a ride but one of the greatest experiences of all…love my kids! Thanks for sending the green chile all the way from New Mexico to Florida!!!

  3. Happy Father’s Day to those who are. My dad passed in 1990. His birthday would be tomorrow as well – and sometimes it fell on This Day – so as kids, we really had to dig deep – he never got shortchanged! Love to all.

There are some amazing dad’s out there! We have a friend who came back from the war and his wife left him with the house in foreclosure and four little kids, two still in diapers. I don’t know how he did it, but he sure rose to the occasion. He’s got a house full of teen agers now.

There’s a couple dads I know who have done an awesome job with blended families. One guy is on his third marriage and has four kids of his own, but he doesn’t just take care of them, he takes care of his ex wives new children too, so on summers and weekends he has 11 kids at his house. He says those are his own kid’s brothers and sisters, so it’s important to keep them all together. I don’t even know how you would put aside all those resentments and jealousies and just do what’s best for the kids, but they really have pulled it off.

” A lot of men aren’t fathers, they are just sperm donors…”

I know what you mean, but really there’s no such thing. We call absent fathers sperm donors, but it’s always tinged with bitterness. Once the deed is done, your actions are going to impact that child, no matter how far you run. Might be negative or positive, but it will have an impact.

“Sperm donor” implies that parenthood can be reduced to nothing but biology, but it just doesn’t work that way. There are always going to be emotional, psychological, spiritual, connections, even if we try to keep everything tidy and compartmentalized.

Happy Fathers Day to all the great dads . My dad was one of those dads that always said , “You don’t have to worry about/ do anything for me “, but he always seemed surprised and happy to be appreciated . He was such a mensch , I am so deeply grateful he was my dad .He is my hero .

Happy Fathers day to all the dads! And to my own husband, who became father to my two in their teens, as well as his two. Who took on the extra responsibility and worries with nary a complaint. Who is now helping raise my son’s 6 year old daughter, and is definitely and wholly “PopPop”, no “step” about it.

For the daddies, especially of little ones:

Sadly, this is not TOO different from what we look like at the store, with kids 13, 7, 6, 2, and 1! And the grocery store (with 3 of them in tow) was Daddy’s extremely odd choice for a Father’s Day outing this morning.

Well, it seemed very odd to me until he returned with a 12-pack.

Sooper has compiled the funniest of the SNAP challenge. My favorite is the dude eating soup from a can from the back of his limo. It’s like the worst caricature of “this is what poor people do” ever. LMAO!!

happy fathers day to all the dads here and to the single moms who have to be a dad sometimes

  15. A lot of men aren’t fathers, they are just sperm donors.

I’m going to keep saying this until it catches on. There are very few sperm donors; mostly there are sperm pushers.

That said, happy father’s day to you and all the participating fathers in this world.

The card I got my dad today reads:

Q: Know why Father’s Day is in June?

    A: Because a month after Mother’s Day somebody said “Hey, wait a minute . . .”

    He liked it. 🙂

Does saying “May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the president’s crotch flag this for the NSA?
Oh, never mind. I still enjoy saying it. So there it is. And also Obama is a stuttering flustercuck of a miserable failure AND he likes to WATCH. I enjoy saying that too. 🙂

That is one of the most inappropriately funny things I have seen in quiet a while. The badger den took it to epic weirdness. I strangled on hot coffee and must now email the link to all of my worthy aficionados of “you can’t make this shit up”. Thank you.
