I checked the thermometer outside and it said “Oh Fuck!” How are you coping?

FYI: The ME who autopsied Trayvon Martin is the worst prosecution witness yet.

The bad news is I have been sleepwalking lately.

The good news is I’m getting more sleep.

The other bad news is it’s during the day.

So far this week I have woke up laying on the front porch, sitting in a swivel chair, sitting on the couch and sitting on the toilet. On one of those occasions I was sin chones. I will let you guess which one.

I just heard from one of my sisters. Apparently she didn’t appreciate my suggestion to my nephews about fighting a duel with roman candles.

Jeez, just put skirts on ’em.

We got sued a few years ago from a crazy person who said our 4th of July party gave her PTSD. We launched them off our pier, but one little booger decided to become a sidewinder and zipped past her head. Ooops. Her ambulance chasing lawyer won a few bucks from our homeowners insurance over the pesky detail that “fireworks are illegal to shoot off in Virginia” (even if it’s legal for Phamtom Fireworks to ship them to us?).

I use ambulance chaser because they had pending lawsuits against a shopping center she slipped on “an illegal wet spot” and another neighbor she slipped on “an illegal patch of ice” on the sidewalk. No injuries, just the emotional distress. Gah. Won them all.

Found out insurance companies rather settle, which is cheaper than going to court. I still felt violated, we haven’t had a July 4th party since.

The Obamas will be relaxing in the cool Maryland mountains. Don’t worry, he’s got his blackberry with him and will be “working”. πŸ˜‰

Prosecution rests, Zimmerman atty requests judgment of acquittal.

    Not with this judge.

    • DandyTiger says:

Good to get it on the record though. Just in case anyone had doubts about this judge. What a horrible prosecution case. It sure looks like they didn’t want this case at all.

    • myiq2xu says:
    • DandyTiger says:

Is the prosecution locked in with 2nd degree murder? Or is there some mechanism to let the jury chose something less like manslaughter? I seem to remember hearing he prosecution hasn’t made that an option, but that they can later.

      • 1539days says:

The prosecutor charges the defendant with as many or as few charges as they want. I know Zimmerman is charged with Murder 2, I’m not sure if he’s also charged with Manslaughter. If there are multiple charges, the jury would probably go with the lesser charge. They can also plea bargain right up until the jury renders a verdict.

I think O’Mara should put a scare into Corey and rest his case on Monday morning without presenting evidence because the state hasn’t proved Second Degree murder. At the very least, Zimmerman could get a new trial for an incompetent defense lawyer.

    • They still have to cover their overturn-conviction ass, and it gives them the opportunity to practice for closing.

Hey klown, is that a post pic of John Kerry? Musta spent too much time dieting with Moochelle

  9. SHV says:

“As it happens, there is no β€œsneaking” required by the State prosecutors on this point. Manslaughter is a lesser included offense of second degree murder in Florida as a matter of law. Even if the evidence for murder 2 were strong, instead of pathetically weak, the jury would still have been instructed on manslaughter, and they will be instructed on manslaughter in this case, as well.”

First encyclical written by two popes.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2356938/Pope-uses-papal-encyclical-affirm-importance-stable-union-man-woman-gay-marriage-debate-rages-round-world.html

Pope uses papal encyclical to affirm the importance of the ‘stable union of a man and a woman’ as gay marriage debate rages round world
It is his first clear statement that marriage should be for a man and woman
It was produced from a draft begun by his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI
Therefore, it is first encyclical that has been written by two popes
Both were present and embraced each other at the ceremony at Vatican

‘The first setting in which faith enlightens the human city is the family,’ Pope Francis says. ‘I think first and foremost of the stable union of man and woman in marriage.
‘This union is born of their love, as a sign and presence of God’s own love, and of the acknowledge and acceptance of the goodness of sexual differentiation, whereby spouses can become one flesh and are enabled to give birth to a new life,’ he continues.

  14. Wow, O’Mara had JUST finished speaking, not 10 seconds had elapsed. Even though it’s 4:52 and it might have looked good for the judge to say she’d go over it over the weekend, she just said, denied, and immediately told Bernie the State needed to rest on the record.

The news weasels often do that. The Preznit or some other politician or public official will give a speech, which they broadcast in its entirety–and then the news weasels go back and tell us what he or she said, as if we hadn’t been listening.

“Ungawa! Thank you, news weasels! Us peasants be too dumb to figure things out for ourselves!” πŸ™„

It doesn’t matter if it’s NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, or FOX–it’s all BS!!!!1!

The same goes for the other kinds of corporate media.

    • Tapper really wasn’t talking to TCH’ers. He’s not used to such erudition. He’s more comfortable addressing low information voters who munch popcorn so loudly they need him to repeat what’s said and explain what it means, cause otherwise it’d go right over their peapickin’ heads, God love ’em.

OT We just watched the latest Die Hard movie on Dvd.
    I enjoyed it.

  22. The medical examiner testimony today was the most bizarre I’ve every experienced. He continually did not answer questions and the strange lady in the black robe sitting nearby seemed to not be able to figure that out. I can name at least 30 criminal court judges who would have stopped that in the beginning, and Bao would have either straightened himself out or spent the weekend in the clink. That’s got to be cause for appeal (if necessary) right there! There’s no way that was cultural. That was an unstable and unreliable person who became an ME because he washed out of the school where you learn how to treat live, conscious humans. I think the defense missed a great opportunity to push back on him and force him to answer only yes or no questions, which would have obviously driven him even further berserk!
