I think they’re happy that the dems ar doing it so they can criticize, blame and then, in the end, take whatever goodies they gather in the net cast by the nsa. Thus they avoid outcries of “traitor” or “tyrrany”, and look like the good guys (that they are not – not any more than the dems)
