WTF Friday Open Thread

This has definitely been an unusual week.

We got started off with George the Superhero, followed by the first appearance of Baby Prince George. We had press conferences with Anthony’s Weiner and Filthy Filner. Obama plagiarized some of his old speeches and even his supporters made fun of him. A high-speed train in Spain wrecked because it was speeding. Princess Caroline was named Ambassador to Sushi. Kimye installed gold-plated toilets in their home. Amanda Bynes tried to set her dog on fire.

All that and the weekend is just barely starting.

“It’s not about your politics, it’s about the President’s safety” WTF ? I guess the students should have worn more neutral clothing …..

  2. Lulu says:

The Lincoln Memorial was vandalized with green pain because…….everyone knows that Lincoln was anti-environment. Or something.

  3. driguana says:

Interesting, Denise, I was reading about the same thing this morning. Rather unbelievable that in this country a college student of any political persuasion could not attend a presidential speech. Wonder if they kept out moderates and Libertarians, too. Here’s another article.

    • DeniseVB says:

LOL ….”next time wear a Che shirt” 😀 Oh well, the publicity….priceless. We have a weiner in the White House too.

Am I the only one creeped out by cameras watching ‘inside’ the home?… Outside, front door, gates, etc I get – but inside?… How cool for the fiancé and child??

      • Lulu says:

Yes it is creepy. And dumb. His security system caught himself walking around with a gun(s) right after a murder. Gee what else might he have done. Maybe pin a note on the corpse. Or put his hat next to it. Or take some photos with his Iphone and twitted them to his friends and associates. Or stuffed it and put it in his living room. Who knows?

      • yttik says:

We actually turned down a job for some people who had security cameras INSIDE. Too creepy for me! There wasn’t anything inside really worth stealing, so it just struck me as weird. I guess they were voyeurs or something and liked to spy on other members of the family?

here is a man filled with the joy of life. he fought for this country he loved this country and the so-called leaders of this country abandoned him and left him to die for political reasons. then called his death and the deaths of 3 others a “phony scandal”

how backtrack poisoned race relations in America

    • DandyTIger says:

Yep, the race industry has been very active and successful. Division and fear and anger is good for business and for politics. The worst part of course is that it hurts most they very people they purport to want to help. The party of slavery, segregation, jim crow, and kkk perhaps have not changed very much, judging from the results and plight of some minorities in this country.

  9. This article on white poverty in rural Tennessee, especially for the young women stranded in horrible family situations, is moving and rare.

    • helenk3 says:

it used to be mostly alcohol that affected many families. now with the widespread drug use it is both. keeping families in poverty, keeping many kids from a good education and a good home life.
many values have been lost. I am glad that there are places like the school where this young lady lives. I am sad that it is needed. I just hope that she will learn to believe in herself and know that she can make her own opportunities by studying and being the best she can be. I hope that they have classes on how to apply for a job and after she gets on her feet how to continue her education. she does not have to settle and should not do so

    • OldCoastie says:

Interesting listening to the voices in the video.

    • votermom says:

Our family is very happy with our charter school. It started off as an Edison School, then after the contract expired the board decided to go it alone with some consulting help. I think the key is that it has some good dedicated local families and very hard-working teachers, it’s small, and it doesn’t have to deal with unions.

Debbie Downer calls on Filthy Filner to resign:

The head of the Democratic Party on Friday urged San Diego Mayor Bob Filner to resign, following allegations from four more women that they were targets of his sexual advances.

The statement from Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was also Filner’s former House colleague, adds a new level of pressure on the defiant mayor, who so far has resisted calls to resign.

“The misconduct Mayor Bob Filner has been accused of is reprehensible and indefensible. I am personally offended by his actions and I firmly believe no employee should face a hostile environment or harassment at their place of employment,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. “There is no place for this type of conduct in the workplace and certainly not in our city halls and public offices. For the good of the City of San Diego, I call on Mayor Filner to resign.”

  14. helenk3 says:

filner to have news conference soon any moment

  15. Klown says:

  16. helenk3 says:
