I was telling my niece and nephew yesterday that I loaned my motorbike to a friend of mine attending the Burning Man Festival during the Labor Day holiday and they said “we know what that is, we saw it on Breaking Bad”. Who knew that show was educational too?

  2. driguana says:

This is pretty amazing if you have never watched the whole video. Amazing that someone actually took it and even more amazing the power and force of the tsunami.

  3. DeniseVB says:

OH YEAH: The Zimmerman lawsuit ….. against Sharpton, NBC and Crump (Martin family lawyer). Good luck George they done you wrong!

    • driguana says:

This will be very interesting. The article talks about these possible lawsuits in the future. Is this actually happening?

      • DeniseVB says:

Ugh, it does look like the author is speculating and not an actual action yet. Missed the “is likely” on my first read. It makes sense though for all the reasons he stated. They ruined a man’s life (as Sharpton has done in the past) and we need a precedent that this will never happen again.

        • Klown says:

The problem with lawsuits like that is unless you can force a fairly quick settlement you usually have to front the legal costs yourself.

What kind of birds does a Meth Lab bring to tdheshooter?

  5. votermom says:

I may be the only person in the couuntry who has not watched a single ep of Breaking Bad. 🙂
In other news, this morning I woke up WITHOUT a headache, which breaks a 4 day streak. Yay!

    three terms for the house

should be voted out. they have been too long at the fair

OT kind of weird. I don’t give my cell phone number out to anyone except family & school/doctor emergency contacts, so I rarely ever get any telemarketers.
Well, just now in the space of 1 hour I got two wrong numbers:
1st was a voicemail from an obgyn office I don’t go to saying I could pick up my labs; 2nd from someone looking for “John”.
So I’m wondering why John is going to the ObGyn.

Thanks for the reminder. The last blue moon last year we were in Pittsburgh where The Marcels were from who did the hit Blue Moon…it was rather fun as the song was playing all over the place.

    • Constance says:

This is a crock. Anyone with a Y chromosome does not belong in a women’s rest room or in women’s sports. The idea that this will reduce bullying is just ridiculous. Girls who play sports are not reluctant to have aggressive physical contact and I bet it’s not long before some invasive alternative sex Y chromosomer gets the crap kicked out of him in the girls room.

      • yttik says:

True, Constance but what usually winds up happening instead is that some transgender pervs all over young girls in the bathroom. In Seattle we caught a trans installing cameras in the toliets, had a rape and assault case, and a trans living in up in the ceiling tiles of the bathroom at the college.

I have studied and researched and tried so hard to to be open minded about these men, but it just isn’t there. They are simply the ultimate misogynists, fooling everyone with their pity stories. Women are once again being asked to sacrifice their own safety and well being so some special snowflake group allegedly won’t get their feelings hurt.

      • 49erDweet says:

Spot on. This will increase bullying tenfold, except the bullies will merely be defending their own privacy rights. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, moonbeamerly stupid!

    • 49erDweet says:

Of course it will serve one of Brown’s goals by reducing the cost of public education as more and more students will be leave for private schools

I’m with the shop girl on this one. She’s been working there for 5 years and any racist or elite class snobbery would have reared it’s ugly head by now. Yep, Oprah’s got a movie to push and she’s using a lowly clerk to bounce racism off of. Shame on you Oprah.

    This belongs here:

Obama, the Media, and Dog World

A friend of mine, who happens to own three dogs, once articulated the concept of Dog World for me: the canine’s charming ability to completely forget everything outside its immediate purview and then instantly light up with delight when, say, you come back into the room — even if you’ve only been gone for a couple of minutes. Everything has been forgotten and forgiven, and the world begins again anew.

This phenomenon, I think, explains the mainstream media’s utter inability to cover Barack Hussein Obama and his administration with any degree of rationality. It’s been a commonplace for at least five years now that the MSM is more lapdog than watchdog, and the rapidly diminishing news organizations have become kennels for the housing of particularly prized hunt (conservatives) and fetch (for liberals) hounds.

The MSM gleefully abandoned all pretense of neutrality once Obama showed up — for the aging Baby Boomers who still control the legacy media, the Civil Rights movement (not the Cold War against Soviet Communism) was and remains the signal issue of their lives; for them, Obama was the living embodiment of Martin Luther King’s great “Dream” speech and, however unworthy he was to take on Dr. King’s mantle … well, you go to war with the army you have. There cannot be any “objectivity” about Obama, because to allow any into the coverage would be to negate the entire reason the news chiefs went into journalism in the first place.

If I was feeling 100% (for me)I would make a whole post from this.

I equate them with poults or baby turkeys. Turkeys are extremely stupid and baby turkeys are beyond stupid. They begin everyday learning everything all over again because they remember nothing. They drown themselves in their water dish, run as a small flock repeatedly into fences or walls, wander off and get eaten by anything bigger, and generally run in circles. Because they are too stupid to live they have to be penned to make sure a few survive. Obama-ites and especially the Obama MSM are poults.

      • yttik says:

That is so true. Turkeys are what kept me from ever becoming a vegetarian. Anything that stupid was simply designed to be eaten.

This is has been going on for decades. I grew up in a town with a very large state school for the mentally impaired (not mentally ill). This horrible local woman decided she would get the school to sponsor an ironing service for clothing for her and she would pay the handicapped almost nothing for their work and she would charge very cheap rates. Some things were ironed very well, others not so great, and many were burned to a crisp. They destroyed thousands of dollars of very expensive clothing (it was mostly the well to do who wanted to use this exploitative business). She had to pay for the damage because mentally handicapped people (as well as the state) were not going to do it. Dress shirts with big black iron marks, blouses with one sleeve ironed, melted dresses and buttons, were common. I like to think some of the resident iron-ers did it on purpose.

As the “parent” of an adult son with disabilities who has had a difficult time qualifying for one of those Goodwill programs, let me offer another view.

“The low wages you have referenced are extraordinary situations. For example, sometimes an employee will work for a few minutes but then stop producing for the rest of the shift because of an emotional or behavioral issue. Unlike a typical employer, Goodwill does not dismiss an employee in such situations.”

They have extra, specially trained “lead worker” staff on hand to patiently work with and tend their disabled workers. They also have staff monitoring their other workers for abuse and manipulation, because many disabled adults are easily manipulated. There is also a ton of paperwork involved.
And that 3 cents an hour worker was most likely on SSI plus other state benefit programs. The money was more symbolic than necessary for his/her well-being and support.
My reading of the story is somebody went off half cocked without knowing all the background, but as in everything else – – I could be wrong.

Got some excellent news today. I have a score of 7 out of 40 on the scale for liver recipient. Which means I may not ever need one or if I do, as I would be using living donor, I can get it when I need. Also told I do not have Hep C. Pretty big mistake but too happy to care. I was informing everyone as they entered my hospital room to take extra precautions because I was told I had it. 8 months of this. Couldn’t figure out how I could have contacted it other than transfusions in the 70’s but still had a tremendous sense of shame.

    • leslie says:

What a relief! I’m happy that your prognosis is so good.

    • Klown says:

Congratulations! My doctor told me I don’t need to worry about anyone killing me for my organs.

      • mothy67 says:

You might want to check out some of the Liver Cleansing Diet books out there(Dr. Sandra Cabot wrote a very accessible one with some tasty shite) Giving it a periodic cleanse can do amazing things for other parts of the body. Never thought I drank enough to do damage but I worked in or owned a bar since I was in my teens(46 now) and guess I never gave it the respite it needed. OTC tonics– I personally find the pharmacist to be far better at making suggestions.
