Corporate President Sticks it to Consumers (Again)

You are not going to believe this, except you will. Because you saw this coming in 2008. You’ve seen the well-traveled road that got us to this point the entire way. You knew this president was a shill, a fake, a colossal Trojan Horse well before most people. And he’s done it again.

Remember last month when the administration delayed the employer mandate, in contravention of its own law? Well, before that, waaaaay before that, in February to be exact, they also dropped the provision for out-of-pocket caps on consumer spending. But it’s just now being reported:

The Obama administration has delayed a key provision in President Obama’s healthcare reform law that would limit out-of-pocket insurance costs for consumers until 2015.

The delay has been outlined on the Labor Department’s website since February, but went largely unnoticed.
Raise your hand if you really think the delay “went unnoticed.” Yeah, I thought so. You know as well as I do that a complicit lap-dog media hid this action from the public and held it until now, August, when few people would be paying attention. August is the deadest month for politics. I know it, you know it, the press knows it, and the Obama machine knows it.
But wait! There’s more!

The cap, which includes deductibles and co-payments, was supposed to limit consumer costs to $6,350 for an individual and $12,700 for a family. But administration officials have quietly delayed the requirement for some insurers, allowing them to set their own limits starting in 2014.

Bolding mine. Yeah, that’s right, the freakin’ Miracle Worker, Mr. Give-the-country-back-to-the-little-guys is once again going to screw everybody except the people already doing great. The guy who was going rein in the powers of the surveillance state, except he expanded it, the guy who was going to preside over controlling the excesses of Wall Street, except he put the bull on steroids, the guy who was going to save us all from the reckless decisions that led to the Modern Great Depression (sorry, I refuse to call it anything else, because that’s what it is), except he made it worse, yeah, that guy is still hailed by the ignorant and vile progs, and he is doing everything he can to wreck the country. Again.
It’s going to be a looong three more years. And it’s going to cost us so much. I don’t know how we’ll survive. But don’t blame, I NEVER voted for him.
This is an open thread.

I think the WH wants a fight with the Repubs in the House to defund Broncobamacare. I’m to the point where I say just let it get as horrible as possible as fast as possible. I do not think people realize that not only are people going to go broke, but there will be people who DIE because of this stuff. It is going to get much worse and fast.

The best thing that could happen to Obama and the Dems is if Repubs go down the rabbit hole of shutting down the gov. to defund Obamacare. That will put Repubs as the focus of attention, and how they hate america and want to shut it down.

The best thing Repubs can do is let the train wreck happen. Get out of the way. It’s horrible, everyone knows it’s horrible. Don’t get in the way of the train wreck.

Well I’m on the individual market and if it goes as horrible as possible as fast as possible, it doesn’t do well for me. I’d just as soon it get fixed and right.

Well survive of course, in abject poverty watching everything else collapse around us. Other than that, it won’t be so bad. We’ll get to watch a lot of great men and women fall from grace. They’ll be left in piles all over the place, exploding heads and all.

Okay so it’s going to a whole lot like a zombie apocalypse, but I knew there was a reason I was watching all those movies. Just get a baseball bat and aim for their heads. It might even be kind of fun…..

Bush was no better to Veterans, as soon as he started the Iraq and Afghanistan wars he started cutting the VA Med Centers.

I disagree. The lap-dog media is so used to being spoon-fed that they can’t find their own food. Since nobody at the White House announced or “leaked” it, I doubt the media even noticed.

“It wasn’t in the talking points they gave us!”

    • Lulu says:

Yeah. This is growing. I think it is Intel that is developing an a la carte cable service that can the lineup can be changed at will on an online account. I think I watch seven channels currently and have a bunch on parental block.

    • It will. The only things keeping me tethered to cable right now are AMC shows and the NFL. As soon as I have another option for the NFL, if not sooner, I’m taking it and watching my AMC shows on Netflix after the season is over. Of course, the cable companies could do us all a favor and allow tiered choices, but they won’t.

    • Constance says:

I can’t believe that conservatives, Republicans and religious people have tolerated bundled cable this long. It completely skews the discussion of politics by allowing liberal elitists to have a voice that conservatives are paying subsidizing. If you unbundle cable and make it so all channels have to get chosen by a household, paying, decision maker, the MTV, VH1, E!, MSNBC, and CNNs of the world disappear overnight.

Releated, the NY Times has a big profile up of Laura Poitras who along with Glenn Greenwald has been releasing the information provided to them by Edward Snowden.

It’s mostly what you’d expect…brave reporter, bravely reporting…blah, blah, blah.

To me the interesting part is about her experience with the US government after she produced a documentary on Iraq in the midst of some of the heaviest fighting. She was suspected of having ties to Iraqi insurgents. She denies this and the Times found a retired military officer who agrees with her. Still, she was put on a terror watch list for this and routinely interrogated by security whenever she flew anywhere.

Until….she finally agreed to let Greenwald publish a story on it. And then the checks suddenly stopped.

If she was legitimately thought to have ties to terrorists, heightened and even unpleasant attention would be warranted but if what she says is true and it stopped as soon as she went public and became an embarrassment to the government, it’s something very different.

Add this kind of thing to Lois Lerner and Obama’s faux “trust and transparency” effort and it’s pretty clear the government is way, way out of control.
