Yay, an Open Thread, so dragging my sorry ass “imdb”, second approved review in 7 years (I’ve written 2), over here, The Butler.

    Enjoy 😀

Do you actually have to watch the movies you review?

      • DeniseVB says:

Yes I did this one with SpecialGreg, he picks the movies, this one had Oprah and Presidents. Read my review, I had a low bar and wasn’t disappointed. The other review on this site are much worse 😉

It’s playing in our little theater downtown. With my “senior discount” or if I go to a matinee, I can get in for 5 bucks. So I was thinking about it. But I opted to take the grandkids to see “Planes” instead. The two year old needed to go for a walk in the middle so we peeked in the door of “The Butler” and the theater was completely empty. I guess they have to run the movie anyway.

      • DeniseVB says:

We did a matinee at $4, I thought is was worth Forest Whitaker, He was great, but then found out he was not the real Butler, just a composite like the Dems like to do. Sigh. Rent Roots for the the “important” history, my kids never could make it through the 1st episode.

My BIL went to see it with his gf in SF and out of all the movies he said they’ve seen together, The Butler was packed. So I guess it’s must see liberal tv/movie in SF…lol.

Like others have said, I would be more interested in the real story of the butler. He was a witness to so much real history why was that not enough?

CBS used to have a segment where the journalist threw a dart at the US map, then blindly picked a name in that town’s phone book, and each of those lives were filled with great stories. I can’t imagine this butler was any different.

      Great review, Denise.

Thanks for the thoughtful review! I don’t intend to see the movie but at least I know what it’s about now.

My BIL came by to look at the AC. He said it was the flux capacitor. So he whacked it with a hammer, slapped some duct tape on it and it’s working.

Cheer up Klown. It could be much worse. Just ask these guys.

T-Bone, Carlos Danger, Richard Windsor. No wonder Democrats connect so well with imaginary voters.

Ever heard of dust bunnies? I just cleaned in and around my computer and vacuumed up several dust buffaloes. I think there are some dust elephants lurking under my desk.

I also installed a new keyboard. It feels weird and there are empty spaces between the keys.

A couple of weeks of toast and cookies and that drawback will fix itself.

Just put up two five shelf storage racks in my “office” and they are crammed but my stackbench can be worked on again. My honey took one look and rolled her eyes. What does that mean?
