BuzzFeed:
Was Mitt Romney Right About Everything?
Ten months after Mitt Romney shuffled off the national stage in defeat — consigned, many predicted, to a fate of instant irrelevance and permanent obscurity — Republicans are suddenly celebrating the presidential also-ran as a political prophet.
From his widely mocked warnings about a hostile Russia to his adamant opposition to the increasingly unpopular implementation of Obamacare, the ex-candidate’s canon of campaign rhetoric now offers cause for vindication — and remorse — to Romney’s friends, supporters, and former advisers.
“I think about the campaign every single day, and what a shame it is who we have in the White House,” said Spencer Zwick, who worked as Romney’s finance director and is a close friend to his family. “I look at things happening and I say, you know what? Mitt was actually right when he talked about Russia, and he was actually right when he talked about how hard it was going to be to implement Obamacare, and he was actually right when he talked about the economy. I think there are a lot of everyday Americans who are now feeling the effects of what [Romney] said was going to happen, unfortunately.”
[…]
In the most actively cited example of the Republican nominee’s foresight, Romneyites point to the candidate’s hardline rhetoric last year against Russian President Vladimir Putin and his administration. During the campaign, Romney frequently criticized Obama for foolishly attempting to make common cause with the Kremlin, and repeatedly referred to Russia as “our number one geopolitical foe.”
Many observers found this fixation strange, and Democrats tried to turn it into a punchline. A New York Times editorial in March of last year said Romney’s assertions regarding Russia represented either “a shocking lack of knowledge about international affairs or just craven politics.” And in an October debate, Obama sarcastically mocked his opponent’s Russia rhetoric. “The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because the Cold War’s been over for 20 years,” the president quipped at the time.
Mitt Romney would have given Putin cancer and strapped Assad to the roof of Air Force One.
“At the same time, though, the former anti-war activist bristled at the notion that bombing Syria amounted to war. In response to pointed questions from Senator Rand Paul, Kerry insisted that dropping bombs on Syria’s military was not “war in the classic sense.”
It’s like when someone slaps someone it isn’t abuse because it is really just because they deserve it. It didn’t even hurt. And it didn’t really hurt anyone because they understand that it wasn’t really serious violence. Not really. And besides they need to learn a lesson. And the person who slapped has a really big mouth they can’t control and feels bad about them-self. You know? So it is really OK. Really. /disgusted sarcasm/
These are the people Obama wants to support:

Pres. Obama walks alone to the G20 dinner – about 1/2 hr after all the other leaders walked over as a group..

When you are better than everyone else in the world you walk alone. So sad to be that superior./s/

the comments are great
“Putin said earlier that the G20 leaders would have the chance at the dinner to discuss the conflict in Syria, which until now was not on the G20 agenda.”
Ha. He has to “talk” about it at dinner. No wonder he skipped the vodka shots.
He had to have a smoke. 🙂
Ahhhhh–what might have been. It’s painful to contemplate..
So right you are, then I find comfort knowing that Romney would have probably done something to piss us off too 😉
well i don’t think he would’ve curtailed the nsa domestic spying either
Maybe not, but the media would actually have fought him on it, as opposed to the way they roll over and wait for Obama to scratch their bellies.
Yeah, he would have. They all will. I plan to yell at them all when appropriate. “Loyalty” is not a factor for me. At all.
I think he and Obama, and for that matter, Bush, are all about 99% the same on most policies. But I give Romney the edge on experience, even after Obama had one term. Hell, even after Obama will have had two terms, I’d give Romney the edge on more experience and preparation for being President.
Sad. That kind of hell they’ve been through must take a toll. I’m not surprised. Not many relationships can get tested like that and survive.
Plus, Shellie gets some of her friends and life back because she’s on the “right” side now.

terrorist shoot rockets at commercial ship in suez canal
That’s a game changer.
If they have to start using helicopter gunships on both sides of the canal to escort ships through the canal the fees will go even higher. And if they don’t they’re liable to have one of those huge behemoths sunk at a critical spot and the whole thing plugged up. 90% of world trade moves by water. Messing with the Suez is serious stuff. Who’d a thunk leading from behind could possibly come to this? Nah, it’s probably just a fluke. Something bombing another country, Syria, say, might fix.
weird thought. ME is like the American West, wild fires in many different places. we go into Syria and all of them could merge and become an uncontrollable blaze.

So because republicans and union leaders (a strange combo) are against ObamaCare, Mitt is a prophet? More like obstructionists being cheered by other obstructionists.
So that’s the new code word for the permanently underemployed? “Obstructionist”? Thanks, good to know. Of course the opposite word is “Anarchist”, but you knew that. Maybe that’s a good idea. Let’s tear it all down. See who starves to death first.
Obstructionist huh…….well I guess I’m an obstructionist too because I want to obstruct the destruction of the USA.
Another buzzword out there is isolationist, if you are against taking military action in Syria then you’re apparently an isolationist.
So many ist and ism to bandy about.
T’is easier to go “nah, nah, nah” and point fingers than come up with, you know, a “plan”.
People use the word prophet to describe someone who accurately describes the future , or , for you ; perhaps we could use a new word Since you seem to like words that end in ist and ism , perhaps we could describe Mitt as a “descriptionist” , which would be someone who engages in “descriptionism ” .
Americans should learn to embrace the 29 hour work week and the two jobs it will require to pay the mortgage. It’s for their own good.

Mitt had a binder full of women, and Obama had one full of Muslim’s.
This is taken from an article from the Chicago Tribune, March, 2009:
[…]
“In a bid to get more Muslim Americans working in the Obama administration, a book with resumes of 45 of the nation’s most qualified — Ivy League grads, Fortune 500 executives and public servants, all carefully vetted — has been submitted to the White House.”
