Barack Hubris Obama

Barack Hubris Obama

Remember when they told us that Obama was a political Jedi master with mad skillz?

Hot Air:

Obama called Republicans hostage-takers with a “gun to the head of the American people,” extortionists, extremists, and blackmailers, while a White House person called them suicide bombers.

All for wanting to do, well, a version of what the White House just announced it’s doing.

If indeed Obama knew that HealthCare.gov was about to fail spectacularly, and he rejected Republican offers for the exact delay he’s going to need, that’s ideological malpractice, dealing a blow to liberalism to score a short-term political win over Republicans. I’ve got to believe that’s a situation where Bill Clinton would have taken a humbling hit by accepting some kind of ACA delay, but turned to take credit for ending the shutdown, and assured the American people “that we’re really committed to getting this to work just right for all of you, and now we’ll have some more time to work out the glitches you see in any big tech project. Apple comparison, etc., etc.” But Obama’s specialty is partisan boot-grinding, not long-term victories by taking short-term lumps. It was his priority to crush Rep. John Boehner, not get Obamacare anywhere near functioning before its launch date.

Obama should have known that this roll-out was gonna be a big shitburger. If he didn’t know then either he’s incompetent or his aides lied and concealed the truth from him. (Or both.)

But if the White House knew that they needed to delay the roll-out then they missed a great opportunity. They could have “compromised” with the GOP by doing something Obama needed anyway (delaying the roll-out) and probably got some more concessions too! Win-win.

The worst thing is that this roll-out isn’t even Obamacare, it’s just the enrollment period. There is no good reason they couldn’t have made this part work.

It’s gonna get a lot worse. Obamacare hasn’t even killed anyone yet.

It’s gonna be historic.

Interesting link driguana, I see it is Bush’s fault after all!

      From your link:

CGI was one of 16 companies that had been qualified by HHS during President George W. Bush’s second term to deliver, without public competition, a variety of hardware, software and communication products and services.

… (in 2007) CGI became eligible for multiple awards without public notice and in circumvention of the normal competitive bidding procurement process.

I think that they knew full well that it was a massive shitburger. I also think that they were going to do what you described as a Clinton move so the one would be hailed as a great leader in times of screwups and national angst. Until the new guys in town called his hand before he was ready to play it. Timing is everything in politics. Putin showed how easy it was to throw them off stride and make them look like fools. His “delay” was going to be a version of saving the sick diabetic preggers chick who was wobbling on cue in a press “opportunity” for the magic presidential hand to save.

It was all planned out for Mighty Obama to save the day! The glitchy website wasn’t ready so his executive order pen was at the ready to delay! Delay! Delay! until after 2014 soon to be known as the health insurance sticker shock election. By forcing the startup, which I do not think Obama gives a fart about and is very bored with unless it involves adolescent fantasies of saving little ladies, the premature ejac….oops, the conservative hellraisers forced startup exposes the real problem which is enormously expensive shit insurance which is what the insurers thought they wanted. They wanted a a shit sandwich with everyone forced to eat it or the IRS is on your butt. Obamacare is what the campaign contributors wanted and what the Dems and Bronco gave them. With a highly fake staged delay Obama was essentially going to double crossing them for which they will pay and pay and pay. Instead he has blown them up. Reminds me of what he did to Saudi Arabia recently. Maybe the insurers can hire Bandar Booosh or Putin next time. Ted is busy and unavailable.

    • Somebody says:

From the various things I’ve read I think you’re right Lulu, the plan was for Obama to appear to be taking charge and implement a delay. I’ve read here and there about meetings, etc.

What I want to know is did Cruz and the others know this? Was it just blind luck or was it strategy? Was the TP contingent’s only concern we the people or was this all a chess game? Did they know they were stealing his thunder? If so did they anticipate his narcissistic response?

Inquiring minds want to know, LOL! In any event if Obama goes ahead with some form of delay or even if one comes from Congress; you’d think even the most obtuse observer would stop and think “Hey wait a minute isn’t that what those tea party people were fighting for a few weeks ago?”. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but I’d think even the dimmest have enough attention span to recall back a week or two.

You know he really screwed them. The WH was going to delay I think and he made them not delay and deny it was a big fat mess. He made them show just how awful it was when they wanted to hide it by bait and switch and float fake compassion arguments until the effects would not be seen or felt until after the 2014 election and the Dems could blame stuff on the insurance carriers. I think it was based on brilliant legal strategy to make them bite the bullet and jump before 2014. Now they own it totally. Most of the vitriol (Dems as well as Repubs) directed at him is because he outsmarted them and he was right. Now the 2014 cycle Senate Dems are running scared just like Cruz and Lee predicted.

      • driguana says:

        The irony of all ironies.

      • wmcb says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cruz knew. Re: Cruz, those who view him as merely a simple ideologue are dead wrong. This is a smart, smart, calculating man. Who was an absolute shark in the courtroom when it came to springing traps. How much did he know? I have no idea. Let’s just say that this is not a man I’d want plotting against me, were I GOP or Dem.

  4. votermom says:

Something tells me Hillary is not gonna get as much of the college kid vote as Obama did

    • Lulu says:

Gee that’s tough. Laying down with dogs and all that. And Vile Progs will double cross you every time. Just ask The Kingdom.

      • votermom says:

She should just retire imo. But it seems like once the WH bug has bitten a family, they can’t be cured.

        • Lulu says:

I do wish she would retire and do other stuff. I still admire her personally but will not vote for her again. I wish her brain could overcome her ambition. Or she tells Bill to STFU and knock off the running agains stuff. But if she is just doing to yank chains that is ok with me.

        • DeniseVB says:

I’d certainly respect her more if she went on an “I Told You So” tour 🙂 The disaster that is Obama is so much worse than the Clintons’ predicted in 2008.

        • Constance says:

NO! I don’t want Hillary to retire! She throws the entire Democrat party into chaos for the 2016 Presidential election. I think another Democrat President who is approved by the current batch of Democrats who control the party would be a final blow for the USA. And I agree no way would many of the vapid Obots transfer their loyalty from Obama to Hillary. She would pick up more thoughtful voters than Obama but the stupid people which won the election for Obama won’t show up to vote for her.

        • ditto. She’s one of the few competent Dems left who are not Obots. I shudder to think of who her replacement might be. Although if Ted Cruz ran, then I’d reconsider my vote for her. At this point, I want someone who has demonstrated *competence* and intelligence. There are few left.

It appears that Sec. “Americans don’t know how to budget for budget busting health insurance rate hikes” Sebelius has a proven record of fucking up government computer projects. “Failing ever upward” is the motto of the Obama administration. http://dailycaller.com/2013/10/23/lawmakers-sebelius-failed-at-government-website-projects-prior-to-serving-in-obama-administration/

    • Lulu says:

If Obamacare is Obama’s baby what exactly does that make Obama? I see it popping out of him and running around snarling. Yikes! Quick Ted get the silver bullets.

  7. votermom says:

Sebelius agrees with Romney, I guess

    • Lulu says:

Yeah a bill you weren’t expecting that is the size of your mortgage should just be simple to budget. Really!

      • votermom says:

Comrade, you don’t need a place to stay, or food to eat, as long as you have healthcare insurance!
        Obama will provide!

      • DeniseVB says:

Mortgages also require an extensive credit check to make sure you “qualify”. With the IRS given the power to put liens on your home if you don’t pay your Obamacare bills, people will lose their homes.

        • Lulu says:

I explained to a younger person, who makes quite a bit, that the penalty is not $95 but rather 1% this weekend. Huh, whah? Yep 1% per uninsured person on your tax return for 2014 you dolt. So it would be closer to $2000 and no insurance on top of it for you and your wife and kid moron. He truly thought it was 95 bucks.

        • Mary says:

Lulu, I tried to explain to some younger coworkers that said “I won’t pay that fine!” that if they get any tax refund at all, the IRS will just deduct it from that refund, and they’ll get less back.

          They were stunned.

    • Somebody says:

Perhaps if we all had personal printing presses it wouldn’t be an issue.

  8. It is getting annoying over on FB. Young people- and it is almost exclusively young people, keep sending me links to “health insurance premium calculators.” One even sent me a link to a Kaiser Foundation calculator. Huh?
None of the calculators are worth shit. Someone sent me one to a health dot gov page where you can look up the “costs” of the various plans in your state. Except! EXCEPT! NONE of them allow you to do a true comparison as they don’t contain any plan descriptions. No indication of what is covered. What the deductibles and copays, coinsurance, prescriptions etc might be.
It’s like comparing cars or homes with the only criteria being colr. Platinum, gold, silver or bronze.
There was mention on the dot gov that dental and vision are not covered- you have to buy a separate policy for those.
Never mind comparing apples to oranges. I don’t even know if I am comparing dog shit to rain clouds.

    • votermom says:

Be careful of links – there’s a good chance a lot of them are phishing sites.

    • mcnorman says:

“dog shit to rain clouds,” pretty much sums it up.

    • DeniseVB says:

PMM, just spotted this on the TP FB page, and it begins……. 😦

      …..posted toTea Party Patriots Online

Please warn your friends and family there are many websites which are posing as the Official Obamacare website in an effort to gain your personal information. More than 700 websites have been created with names playing off of Obamacare or Healthcare.gov, making it likely that some Americans will mistakenly hand over private information to unknown third-parties.

For instance, there is a website — http://www.obama-care.us — that brands itself as part of the “Obamacare enrollment team,” directs people to an “Obamacare enrollment form” and asks users for their name, address, Social Security number and other contact information. According to a counter at the bottom of the page, more than 3,000 people have visited obama-care.us.

Are people really that dumb? I don’t give any info on any website. ESPECIALLY on the real dot gov sites.
If I have to give any info I’m giving a dead person’s.

      • Constance says:

And I bet that fake website works and is able to accomplish the task it was set up for, unlike the government site.

  9. votermom says:

Huh, Guardian got epically trolled by a fake victim

    • mcnorman says:

They knew that exactly what turd they were laying. No one can tell ValJar anything therefore, no one must tell the emperor that he is running around nekked.

  10. Lulu says:

The hearing is on CSPAN. The Dems are in full outrage mode. Screaming that Republicans want people to DIE. I probably should feel embarrassed for them but I don’t. Scammers and frauds always scream they were just doing it for the folks they were trying to help. The louder and more hysterical the tighter the vice on their *#!$. It looks like only safe Dem seats showed up for the hearing.

    • votermom says:

I don’t want to watch. Screaming Dems are almost as puke-inducing as any Obama speech

    • Saw something on FB this morning saying HHS was testifying today in a DEM only hearing.
WHAT? Could not verify with a reliable link so ignored it. But sounds from the above it might be true.

    • Mary says:

They’re reading off a talking points list. None of them ever even read the bill that passed Obamacare, and none of them actually understand how it all affects the middle class.

Talking points is all they’ve got.

I’m reading that The One, in the midst of all this chaos, is planning a 5 week tour of multiple states for FUND RAISING in anticipation of the midterm elections. He’ll be blasting Repubs for blocking Obamacare and shutting down the government, I’m sure, while on that tour. He won’t mention any actual solutions for the total fuck up he’s created in Obamacare.

But then again, we ALL knew that the midterm elections were what it was all about all along, didn’t we?

  11. Lulu says:

CGI tells Waxman they are fine tuning the servers. LOL. They must re-boot them everyday. Another guys says he fixed his stuff. He hasn;t explained what his stuff is but whatever.

  12. Lulu says:

Marsha Blackburn wants their error logs. LOL.

  13. Lulu says:

“You know this site is not HIPPA compliant and you did it to violate it. Yes or no”. CMS made us do it. Give me a name says Congressman Barton. Now he is laughing at the CGI ninny. LOL. This is pathetic as other contractor did not know it was there to violate HIPPA.

  15. Lulu says:

Rep Pallone of NJ should be cast on Boardwalk Empire. “Wazza prob-lem?” “Please find the means to enroll” he says. He doesn’t have any suggestions on how the public are supposed to do it.

    This is ROFLMFAO funny:

    • DeniseVB says:

I couldn’t watch it all …. made it to 2:12 😀 It also reminds me of the creepy entrance to the 9-11 Memorial site with chain link cattle-to-slaughter like chutes with TSA agents popping out along the way….thank goodness I was there during the day.

  17. helenk3 says:

remember the old days when congress made the laws and not the executive branch?

backtrack can change a law without even talking to congress now

very quietly administration tweaks individual mandate

    • Somebody says:

I don’t understand why both sides of the aisle aren’t screaming about POTUS ruling by executive fiat. It sets a very bad precedent that needs to be challenged. We have 3 co-equal branches of government for a reason, each with their own responibilities. Laws are to be written by our representatives.

I just don’t understand why both sides can’t see the problem here and why they can’t agree on it no matter whose guy is in the WH because it fundamentally undermines the constitution.

      • ” because it fundamentally undermines the constitution.”
That’s exactly why they are NOT screaming. It’s only bad when the other side does it. Neither side gives a rat’s ass about the pesky Constitution. It hobbles them.

    • wmcb says:

Here’s the deal, though. Congress has, over the years, ceded away their power entirely “legally”. They’ve basically passed laws and set up agencies that are blank checks for the Executive branch: the text of the law itself says that pretty much anything under the sun can be changed or adjusted, etc “at the discretion of HHS” or some other bureaucrat.

Obamacare is only the most egregious example of it. But Congress has been lazily passing laws with lots of “to be determined later” shit in it for decades now.

  18. helenk3 says:

why obamacare is like three mile island.

originally being from PA and working with people from Harrisburg Pa, I remember the problems of three mile island. what it did to real estate in the area. I could even get freight crews willing to take trains near there. the tracks were across the river from three mile island

  19. wmcb says:

By even signing on to the Obamacare site, you agree to give up your right to privacy. Except you don’t know that.

Moreover, the fact that you are giving up your right to privacy is hidden in source code that reads, “You have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding any communication of any data transmitted or stored on this information system.”

  20. wmcb says:

Sorry, you’re a sucker for power, chica. First getting in bed with Obama, now getting in bed with the man who financed the trashing of you in 2008.

It was a cost plus contract. Oh boy. It is not a performance contract. It is a complete money pit of a sink hole.
