Obamas, George W. Bush, Clintons to attend funeral
The White House says President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will attend a Tuesday memorial service in South Africa honoring Nelson Mandela.
The service will take place at a stadium in Johannesburg.
The Obamas will be accompanied on Air Force One by former President George W. Bush and wife Laura Bush. Former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, along with former President Jimmy Carter, will also attend memorials for Mandela in South Africa.
I don’t want to take anything away from Nelson Mandela, he earned the accolades that he is posthumously receiving. But it annoys me that Barack Obama gets an early Christmas present that allows him to change the subject away from Obamacare.
What really pisses me off, however, is the thumb-in-the-eye that Obama is giving one of America’s oldest friends and closest allies in the process. When Margaret Thatcher died in April 2013 Obama sent some retired Republicans and a former ambassador to her funeral, but neither he nor Joe Biden attended. Not did he order the lowering of flags to half-mast in her honor.
Diplomacy is tricky business, and people in other countries are constantly parsing every word and move our presidents make. Obama is a rube when it comes to diplomacy. He snubs our close friends and allies and rushes to embrace (or bow to) our enemies.
Seriously, the man is a walking clusterfuck.
You’re assuming he doesn’t know what he’s doing.I think he does. The people he offends, he means to offend. The people he smarms with, he supports. And there it’s made plain where his true allegiance lies … not with the USA.

Shit is getting real in DC. Democratic panic is setting in over the biggest clusterfuck in public policy history so yeah he needs a vacay. The funeral is just a happy little detour for he and the Mrs to do a little posing. The good thing is that no one in SA is going to pay him any attention except the US media which will do zero for his imploding Obamacare. Then his Hawaiian holiday which will do zero for his imploding Obamacare. He has to leave town to try to keep his approval poll numbers from falling more. Let the Congressional Dems go home for Obamacare Christmas and Obamacare New Year.
And let the Obamacare stories keep leaking out. Obamacare shit insurance plans exclude all the top cancer research hospitals because they are too expensive and “inefficient”. Since I know from personal experience that MD Anderson Cancer Center consults, diagnoses, and then sends you to your local treatment facility with a treatment plan because it is cheaper and lets patients stay home, the Obamacare mouthpieces are fucking liars and everyone knows it.
The composition of that picture makes it look like Obama is taking a piss. Seriously, are these morons in the WH PR department so enthralled with TFG they can’t see the obvious?

Good point about Thatcher…but in obamaeyes she had three strikes against her….conservative, feminine and white. All that dumb phrase “post racial” means to Obama is that he can create a new, more racist, more divisive moment in history. Oh my that is an “interesting” assignment. I understand what they’re trying to teach, but there were better ways to accomplish it.
That assignment reminds me of my son’s 11th grade English teacher. She gave the students a writing assignment about a school shooting they had to write from the shooter’s perspective, starting with a motive and a plan. That assignment was withdrawn after complaints to the principal and that was her one and only year teaching in this district.
BTW there was one student that happily completed that assignment, creepy little turd he was. He now works for DHS, true story!!

My insurance now is worse under Obamacare, just as this person’s is – the difference is my policy rate went down (NYS). I too wanted to continue with my better insurance plan, even if it did cost more.
I do not agree with his take on “Medicare for all”, however. I still think it is doable, but after Obamacare, unlikely in my lifetime. Maybe that was the point of Obamacare?
That is the point of Obamacare. NO CHOICE. None. All of the advantages of higher premiums, higher deductibles, tiny provider networks, no specialty providers, no teaching or charity hospitals, is to enrich the insurers and punish people. It was written completely by insurance lobbyists with a nod to the angry radicals who want to control the public through health care terrorism. They can’t say it publicly yet but the intent is for sick people to just die and not cost so much so it can be spent on the interests of the people in power. Why pay for sick people who are going to die anyway, have worthless lives (in the the self appointed elites opinion) when all of this money can be spent on cool stuff like green energy or some such shit. This is what they think.

THK looks like someone who has been ill. I think it’s the tilt of her head. With everyone else looking up, it makes her look frail. I don’t know if it’s her dress or her wig, but Michelle looks like she’s aged, too. While the dress is lovely and actually fits her, combined with the tousled “bedhead” look, it comes off “prommy”. Nothing makes a woman look older than trying to look younger than she is. A more elegant hairdo could have made the dress stunning. And a different color. The teal “yellows” her skin tone. That teal color needs a redhead. I have a badge from the fashion police.
My eyes were drawn to the boob makeup to give her a cleavage. Just not a good look for a FLOTUS. Period. 😉 Loved the dress which would have rocked on a red carpet star like Amy Adams. Agree on the auburn tresses !

Regarding MO’s dress: I don’t like the down drooping useless fabric that traps her arms and gives a droopy line at boob level. She has great arms why cover them in such a droopy way. A nice, beautiful, rich fabric shawl would have been more attractive.

Well who ever dresses MO doesn’t seem to realize her age or status. Remember those over the knee boots and the flouncy dress for church? YIKES! The dress last night draped nicely in the skirt and the color was a darker Christmas green in some other pictures. Since I live on the west coast I have spent a lot of time around 5’11” 165 pound girl water polo players who work out daily by treading water while holding milk gallons full of water above their heads (and who have zero problem attracting male adoration) so I am not bothered by the muscular shoulders and arms. If she wanted to distract from them because she lives on the east coast where women hobble themselves with idiotic shoes, starve themselves to fit fashion designed by misogynist gay men and act submissive with the head wag and question talk then she should have found the most amazing piece of black fabric and had a shawl made from it. Those weird droopy arm draperies …I can’t even imagine what they were thinking. And another thing when a woman has arms and shoulders like MO if someone insults her for it, rip his F’ing head from his body and carry on.
To be a great diplomat takes maturity – you have to put your own ego aside to achieve a higher goal. Does that sound like Obama? I recently heard an old interview with Mandela, and he was asked how he forgave his captors and oppressors after his prison release. He said he focused on the limited time he had available to change the country and his own residual anger would not serve that purpose, so he used his mind and will to rise above it. Obama is childish and driven by vanity – he does not have that capacity.
One doesn’t imagine a man like Mandela, after election as prez, speaking to his opposition and saying, “I won.” Nuff said.
A humble leader is rare.
What does Obama have to be angry about? He was raised in a two-parent family (even if it was his grandparents), went to some of the most prestigious schools in the country but isn’t held to any standard of educational accomplishment, fell into jobs that didn’t require him to do anything, made millions off of a couple of books somebody else probably wrote, married a woman who has the best toned arms in the country who can’t spell or string two sentences together but has a law degree from Harvard, became President without having to work for it, and spends a lot of time playing at being the most powerful man on the planet without being responsible for anything. Just who is he angry with? Does he not realize if Stanley Ann had married the little white boy next door, he would likely have none of that? He would have been just another, middle class, (perhaps with an above average IQ who knows?), kid like the rest of us?
I think he was raised by resentful people who were not very successful at anything but being resentful. They were also scammers or at least both of his parents were in some form or another. They considered themselves great intellectuals but were not so great with the intellectualism. They were accomplished with the veneer of it but not the work that accompanies it. It was mostly big talk and failure and dire screwups. Grandma seems to be the only one who showed up for work. Mom, dad, and grandpa just sort of faked it just like Bronco. Then they are MORE resentful. It is a vicious cycle.
Worshipping the IQ thing continues to bother me, probably because I was stuck with that tag in my first job and shunted aside off the promotional path. So I’ve seen how that “tag,” effects the way others treat the tagged. In 404’s case there’s ample evidence the IQ plus blackness paved the way to automatic success sans accomplishment. Just saying.
Same with Michelle. Given every opportunity to achieve great accomplishment, which she did as a Harvard law grad, she managed to throw it away for easier money.
I probably would have had more respect for both of them if they had walked the talk and opened a legal aid office. According to their former co-workers, neither were willing to do the “grunt” work as new attorneys.
What a waste. My mom woulda killed me @ 35 if I’d followed that kind of path.

I don’t think Obama sees America as a great country and he isn’t trying to preserve and protect what is good about our real culture (as opposed to fake media culture). Mandela was working for the good of his country and people and was unusually smart. Obama isn’t impressively smart, if he were his past and accomplishments at college wouldn’t need to be covered up.
Don’t know of a President before GObama who didn’t put the interest and well-being of the nation ahead of his personal success and image.
