This may be my only Christmas post this year.
If you are a non-Christian (and I don’t care what kind of non-Christian you are), lighten the fuck up. You don’t have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas, just like you don’t need to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. You are not being oppressed because someone says “Merry Christmas” to you or because there is a manger scene down in front of city hall.
If you are a Christian (and I don’t care what kind of Christian you are), lighten the fuck up. You can celebrate the birth of your savior without shoving Him down the throats of non-believers. You are not being oppressed because someone says “Happy Holidays” to you or because there is a “holiday tree” down in front of city hall.
If you were raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, lighten the fuck up. That was a long time ago, and nobody else gives a shit.
There is no one “right” way to celebrate Christmas. If you want to go to church, go to church. If you want to spend Christmas with your family, spend it with your family. If you can’t stand your family, take a trip to Vegas and party like Charlie Sheen.
You can open gifts on Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, or you can let white Santa “deliver” them in the middle of the night. You can give out lots of gifts, or one, or none. If you enjoy the way you spend Christmas, then you did it the right way. If you don’t enjoy the way you spend Christmas, do something different next year.
There are no rules.
But most of all, don’t worry about what anyone else does. It’s none of your fucking business.
