We needed a new post and I needed an excuse to front-page this video. That is Yulia Lipnitskaya nailing the team gold for Russia. One of the cool things about the Olympics is that we get to see some of the most awesome athletic talent in the world.
Maybe it’s the home-field advantage but so far it seems like the Russians are putting on a show. We seem to be fighting the Canuckistanis for third place. The rest of the world is being left behind. We will get some gold medals, but I get the feeling the commies are gonna dominate in the medal count.
By the way, that video shows how sports announcing should be done – the Russian announcers didn’t say a single word during Yulia’s performance.

Apparently the team skate competitions were this weekend, the individual skate competitions will be at the end of the games.
It’s all about the hockey, baby. That’s the real rivalry.
Yulia deserved the gold for that skate, BTW. She nailed it.
I did not see that today. I saw her skate in a red outfit. Absolutely wonderful; very fierce & fearless.
