Happy Birthday, Sarah!

Sarah Palin hits the big five-0 today, but she’s still looking good! Watch the birthday video that Ted Cruz made for her for a few lulz.

This is an open thread.

P.S.: Don’t forget to watch Justified tonight!

You have to really admire a lady who drives both political parties nuts. She stands up and shouts out and says what many people who do not have a voice believe. Want her to keep up the good work
A very Happy Birthday and many more .

Is everyone prepared for this coming snow and ice storm? On the TV it sounds like it will be a bad one

Maybe it’s just me but I’m getting really sick of Olympic coverage that assumes that the United States is the only team worth watching.

Pay attention right now, and I’m going to school you on how controlling the narrative is the primary goal of Statists.

The new IRS rule says that in order to qualify for the exemption from Obamacare for businesses under 50 employees, you’ll have to certify under threat of perjury that **you did not lay off workers for the purpose of getting under the 50 worker bar**. Now, people are yelling that this is the govt asserting control over private hiring/firing decisions. Maybe. But I assert that stopping businesses from firing people is not the goal of this rule.

Businesses will still lay off the workers anyway, and the administration knows that. That’s not the point. The POINT is that all those businesses who have been publicly and loudly yelling that they are having to lay off employees due to Obamacare? The ones that keep pointing out how badly it’s affecting their business? They have to SHUT UP. They can still fire, but they cannot henceforth say WHY they fired, or they admit to perjury. It’s a de facto political gag rule.

The employees will still be laid off. You just won’t be able to say in public that Obama’s asinine legislation made you do it. It’s not a “controlling hiring and firing” move, it’s a pure fucking propaganda move.

As Judge Napolitano pointed out, Obama has literally created a new crime with a stroke of his pen. The requirement that you swear under penalty of perjury does not appear anywhere in the law.

Yep. I can’t decide these days if I am pissed off or just waiting for it all to burn. I don’t think America in its current form is going to make it. It’s going to fall. No, not in some cataclysmic way, but still. I think people need to start looking to their families, their churches, their friends and associations, to strengthen civil (non-governmental) society. When the vultures loot the last penny and burn out, that is going to be the underlying society/community that may have a shot at building something like the Republic again.

You need a healthy and just society to build a healthy and just government. And I am thinking we are going to have to build a govt again, eventually. Will we have a society prepared to do that? Maybe not me personally, but perhaps my grandkids. Maybe it’s just me. But community/society/organic human structures is becoming more important to me than politics these days.

Why aren’t the establishment Repubs screaming bloody murder? Oh wait, the establishment of both parties is the same rotten to the core group.

Would be nice to see this tested constitutionally. If there is some company bold enough to do it, that is.

      • The Klown says:

Since the law only applies to small employers, they will need someone to help with the legal bills that a constitutional challenge would bring. That will make it “political” according to the media. But first they have to violate the law to place them in harm’s way so they will have standing.

The truth is this is like a scarecrow patent. The goal is to scare people into compliance without actually doing anything to them.

This is like every commie/ fascist movie ever.
Bad guys seize what was yours, then make you do something against your principles for a chance to get some of it back
