Have to relate this. I was in a T-mobile store and their phone.lines went dead . Which is funny in itself but I had already bought my crud a phone and had to wait for credit authorization. Well Kashmir came on older woman gonna say 85 tapped me on the shoulder and told me if she was 5 yep 5 years younger she’d get stoned and make her husband beg for his mommy to that song. I couldn’t speak. Never met the woman before. Thought it poignant as we were discussing Zep the other night

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear
        Oh, oh.

Oh, I been flying… mama, there aint no denyin
Ive been flying, aint no denyin, no denyin

All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where Ive been.

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My shangri-la beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin through Kashmir

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
        Ohh.

When Im on, when Im on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah

        Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when Im down…
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well Im down, so down
Ooh, my baby, ooooh, my baby, let me take you there

Let me take you there. let me take you there

I saw LZ once and Robert Plant 2x

    • The Klown says:

      Leaves are falling all around,
Its time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, Im much obliged
      For such a pleasant stay.

But now its time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain,
      And with it pain,
      And its headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,
But I know Ive got one thing I got to do,

      Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
      To sing my song.
      Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Got no time to for spreadin roots,
The time has come to be gone.
And tho our health we drank a thousand times,
      Its time to ramble on.

      Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
      To sing my song.
      Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

      I aint tellin no lie.

Mines a tale that cant be told,
      My freedom I hold dear;
How years ago in days of old
      When magic filled the air,
Twas in the darkest depths of mordor
I met a girl so fair,
But gollum, and the evil one crept up
      And slipped away with her.
      Her, her….yea.
Aint nothing I can do, no.

      Ramble on,
And nows the time, the time is now
      To sing my song.
      Im goin round the world,
I got to find my girl, on my way.
Ive been this way ten years to the day, ramble on,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.

Gonna ramble on, sing my song
      Gotta keep-a-searchin for my baby…
Gonna work my way, round the world
I cant stop this feelin in my heart
Gotta keep searchin for my baby
      I cant find my bluebird!
Id listen to my bluebird sing but I cant find my blue bird
      A-keep-a ramblin baby…

If I am one of the people that caused a complaint and I think I am because I have offended. If so I aim not to limit HURT or impede but I am learning and often need a slap in the face to wake up. If I knew what I don’t know I wouldn’t’t need to learn. I will never cloak my thoughts to be sensitive. If you think I am wrong engage me. I want to learn and think limiting another’s perspective because it is not PC is a waste.

    • The Klown says:

Around here you’re not allowed to take offense unless somebody uses profanity and specifically insults you and at least two of your relatives.

    • wmcb says:

I seriously doubt that was aimed at anyone, Timothy. Just a joke.

      • mothy67 says:

Disagree I think I crossed a few people about gays and children. Stand by what I wrote and find’ t mean to offend and I am willing to rethink but I offended at least one person. I could tell by the look of her font. Place is not mine and if in anyway it is more difficult because of my opinions I apologize for that but not my opinion.

    One of my favorites.

DAMN I love that band. First album I ever bought with my own money was In Through the out Door(refrain from the platitude gay joke) had to hide it because my dad was becoming a deacon and we all know what happens when you play their music backwards. Funny how music touches ylou. They were my friends when I had none. Confess I am also a huge Barry Manilow fan and won’t even mention Dr Hook.I write to my baby girl

  8. mothy67 says:

Hate this tablet. Wanted to say I write to my baby girl on every holiday or after N emotional day for her. Ideal them and want her to open only when needed in life when I am no longer here. When you open the box it plays this

  9. mothy67 says:

    And then there’s this

    • wmcb says:

It’s not so much that other bands didn’t have good songs, or even several. It’s that Led Zeppelin’s entire body of work is just so freaking amazing, and was revolutionary at the time.

      • mothy67 says:

AT the time? Really think it’s the first time I disagree with you and I remember you from Hillary is 44 would argue nothing has come close to them save maybe a few country artists that stood up to record company execs.

        • wmcb says:

No disagreement there. I meant revolutionary then, and pretty much unassailable since. “Revolutionary”, in my mind, is kind of time-frame specific.

  10. mothy67 says:

Because I am a pretentious a s s And Because Zep made me st r I’ll down memory lane I decided to go out on the snow covered roof and have a smoke. I wanted it to be profound deep poetic but just laughed at myself as I listened to my other 70 s friend.Bet you can sing along

The term butthurt is homophobic. I am now butthurt squared.

    • 49erDweet says:

I’m thinking you’ve never known any real cowboys, 1539. Regardless of how they swung, they were mostly butthurt all their lives. Unless they rode Tennessee Walkers. Few did.

      • erica says:

I had a Tennessee Walker called Sarton. Sweetest horse ever, strong as a bull. Could ride him over the mountain all day and at the end, get off and walk away like I’d spent the day at the spa (well, maybe except for the smell of hay and horse sweat….) T Walkers are the best!

  12. mothy67 says:

I was looking through my 45s and was gonna try and be witty and mock this song for its camp but by mistake I played it first. Corny as corny gets but for me a big ugly truth

    • mothy67 says:

Scary funny. And speaking of scary I wonder some times how the other half lives. I am gay but Michelle Pfeiffer in The Fabulous Baker Boys is for me . Mind blowing sexy. Jimmy PAge for me is sex incarnate. So primal. I wonder how others hear him. I don’t mean he evokes porn sex but that guitar makes me nuts. Does it have the same impact for a straight guy or a woman. I don’t know cause never been either.

      • wmcb says:

Yes. And one of my more ill-advised relationships with a feckless guitar player went on way too long because he played Zeppelin really well. Shirtless. Cross-legged. Sitting at the foot of the bed.

        • mothy67 says:

Ugh so glad I am too old for that stuff.I remember watching this beautiful gentle creature sing Jealous Guy by himself at Strawberry Fields. I appreciate the Beatles and Double Fantasy is one of my favourites but never a big Lennon fan but for that song. Poor sensitive little guy he sang it and I said me you cab your place. Blizzard took place that night and I was in f u c k I n g Jersey for two days. TWO DAYS no cable NOTHING but John this and John that. At one point I asked him if he was aware that he did not know John Lennon. Not my best one night stand.

ok why am I in moderation??

  16. mothy67 says:

I need to say thank you to you guys. I’ve had a rough spell and reading here has been a respite. Feel it is my duty(not the word I want to use but this tablet keeps changing it) to express what I have seen. E R visit with a bad rash. They tell me I have renal failure. End up with a catheter on a bathroom floor covered in my own excrement. Heart monitor and I v s so I couldn’t’t bathe. So ashamed of my own filth. I tried desperately to clean myself with the toilet water. Gave up just wanted to die. My head on a roll of toilet paper clad in that gown that I just do not wear well. Shaking alone I halted on all the bad things I had done. Crucify I n g myself for being mean to a kid in second grade. Well my pity party was cut short because as I sat there in my own s h I t I thought with tremendous clarity you a s s it’s not what you have done it is what you do. Sorry to be dork but I think some of you are significant.

  17. mothy67 says:

One last thing because I am drunk by myself right now. I thank God for everything. Even the bad stuff. Even more for it. I endured. Blessing or curse I can’t say but I was someone others found highly attractive. I was a lonely gay kid who had multiple open heart operations. Saved me as a young adult in the 80 s. Never comfortable with people touching me but I got to live all over the world. I used to sometimes cry and wonder why I had to hurt so much. To always be alone and then I walked into a room filled with cages and this little BRat looked at me with so much. She never went back there and I would take it all twice to be there for her. This reminds me of her

Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin. Jack Black says you have to do the Zeppelin Marathon at least once in your life. Heart’s version (w/ Jason Bonham) of Stairway to Heaven made the guys cry.

    • mothy67 says:

I went to a record release party for Morphine eons ago and Jason Bonham was there. I only knew because I was with the label. He was no diva got his own drinks and even paid. Thinking about it the only celebrity monster I ever dealt with was Kathy Griffin. YUCK is all I think I can legally say.
