Big big fan til 08. Has every right to express his views but his obama love was over the top. Wonder if he knows he was a tool and I mean tool in all contexts. The River will never be the same. Ihad so much respect for him. Tunnel of Love came out early nineties late eighties and I didn’t want to get it. Thought buddy you are old give it a rest but I bought the CD anyhow(remember those) “Yeah I know I ain’t nobody’s bargain but hell a little touch up and a little paint”. Sad even as an adult when you see those you respected in such diminished light. Different when it’s real people because if you really care somehow the flaws the arguments work as some sort of cement between you. Anyhow I see Bruce as a rich guy selling a product and nothing more. I am a steel town kid.

  6. gumsnapper says:

Heh, you didn’t say they had to be rock songs: Lucille, in My Merry Oldsmobile, an oldie from 1905 but later covered by Bing Crosby.

  7. gumsnapper says:

Get your kicks on Route 66

  8. gumsnapper says:

    Simon and Garfunkel: Baby Driver

  9. The Klown says:

Can you name the movie I’m watching?

    Gaily bedight,
    A gallant knight,
    In sunshine and in shadow,
    Had journeyed long,
    Singing a song,
    In search of Eldorado.

    But he grew old—
    This knight so bold—
And o’er his heart a shadow
    Fell as he found
    No spot of ground
    That looked like Eldorado.

    And, as his strength
    Failed him at length,
    He met a pilgrim shadow—
    “Shadow,” said he,
    “Where can it be—
    This land of Eldorado?”

    “Over the Mountains
    Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
    Ride, boldly ride,”
    The shade replied—
    “If you seek for Eldorado!”

How about the author of this poem?

    • The Klown says:

There are no Prince songs on YouTube.

      • mothy67 says:

Forgot about that But why did the Newman song not embed?

      • mothy67 says:

It comes up on kindle with the album cover of purple rain and then reads not blah blah one says official Video but then it takes me to Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. IS Prince attempting to be funny.

        • 1539days says:

That is a phenomenon called “Rick Rolling.” You link to one thing and when you click on it, it ends up Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

BTW – mobile versions ( do not embed.

          • mothy67 says:

The Rick-rolling thing is funny. Knew about awhile ago and I forgot. Radar Love and Cars are not listed I tried tp post but guess its the mobile thing. Do like my kindle and keep saying I’m going to buy another laptop but want cheap Carwash and Mercedez Benz would also be my contributions if I could

      • mothy67 says:

Takes me ten minutes to get my passwords in anything cause I can never find my readers which are usually on top of my head. And any time I try to correct anthing I make a bigger mess. I just need to buy a laptop with a standard screen nothing fancy but not a chromebook. Everytime I am out I look then I tell myself 400 for that already have enough then I get frustrated every single day with think over 3 months of not being annoyed that’ s three dollars a day. Of course I could also just buy a three dollar chain and wear glasses around my neck. HATE HATE HATE HATE my eyesight diminishing.

  14. mothy67 says:

Some people have it so ingrained in who they are that Jesus Christ could run as a Republican and they would vote against him. My mother is one of those people. She got knocked up in tenth grade and went on to have 6 children(Catholic) got a GED got a medical assisting degree then an RN ended up pulling around 6 figures as a supervisor for an insurance company. Not to shabby. My dad was 18 and he too went to school part time. They did what they had to do. When I graduated from high school my parents income was 22k with four dependents. I got into Purdue and my parents both wept.( I respect math and had the grades at 17 for it but it was never going to be me.)
Raised 5 kids in poverty and only one (me) has ever been in jail.
When I try to say that is what people like Palin and Cruz are talking about. Yeah we need each other many times as a kid we ate because some one else in the family could spare and we did it in kind.
I get her going on sacrifice and self -dependency and she goes native. She attacks Palin, Cruz and Rubio in one fell swoop about their treatment of Native Americans. Ido not get it but for my mother and her four sisters the Cherokee heritage is really important.
So I respond with Palin is married to a half Innuit(eskimo?) And Cruz and Rubio are at least half “indian”. Conversation stops there with her telling me to watch more faux news. OFA sends out a ton of info about the abuses to native americans from an absurd petition a few years ago.
