If history is any guide, tonight’s episode will involve at least one gunfight and a high body count.
I’m guessing that Michael Rappaport and Alicia Witt won’t be back next season. Neither will most of the Mexican drug dealers. The shocker will be Ava Crowder getting killed. Boyd and Raylan will survive because there is still one more season to go.
I’m gonna make 7 1/2 the over/under on the body count. I’m taking the over.
Tune into FX tonight to find out what happens.
I won’t be able to watch until tomorrow.
I hope Ava survives the night.
I gotta stay offline to avoid spoilers – especially Twitter.
I am watching American Hustle on DVD right now. The opening is an instant classic – Christian Bale fixing up his comb-over in the mirror.
They oughta have an Oscar for best cast.
I’ve been watching the movies that were nominated for best picture, and American Hustle still is tops. Gravity is a close second. Dallas Buyers Club is third, and 12 Years a Slave is fourth.
The SAG awards has that one.
Justified has been disappointing this season (IMO). First, not enough Nick Searcy. Second, not enough of the rest of the cast/too much Boyd & Raylan. I realize Raylan is the “main” character, but there used to be more of the rest of the office in story lines. Now it seems it is *just* Boyd and Raylan. Third, I really did NOT like the love interest they got for Raylan (Amy Smart). She’s an OK actress but I didn’t like her character — the pot smoking social worker dating a US Marshall is just too fucking stupid. Fourth, I really don’t like the development of Raylan not seeing his daughter. Fifth, I do NOT like the Ava in jail storyline — it’s been dragged out too much. Finally, there just was not enough humor. It seems the first four seasons had more funny lines, more comic situations, etc. Sure, Dewey Crowe is a funny character (and the guy who plays him is a very good actor) but a little “beat up on the sad sack” goes a long way. This season over all just seemed much darker.
Agreed with all your points.
I blame that on Elmore Leonard for dying.
Yeah — they probably gave more creative control to Timothy Olyphant because of that — and, well, it’s a good thing he’s good looking, because he’s as dumb as a box of rocks IRL.
Fargo starts next Tues on FX ….
Yep. Also, we got involved in the “Crisis” miniseries now going on and it’s better than we thought it would be. Who’d athunk it? The plot twists in unexpected ways. Just saying…
I avoided American Hustle because I thought it was going to be work to watch. CAST was amazing. Amy Adams blew me away and COoper and Lawtence. Wow. I expected to hate it.I would consider buying the digital. Copy.
Is Dallas Buyer’s Club worth a rental? I lived in philly anf Mahattan for almost thirty years. Watched far too many people die far too young from aids. I do not want to watch a movie that sugar coats or has an afterschool special message.
It’s pretty good — the acting is very good. Obviously it’s not a “happy” movie, but the theme is more about “daring to live” than dying (and how the government doesn’t care about you so you need to do what you need to do to take care of yourself).
Five dead with 15 minutes left to go.
ONLY 5 DEAD????
I feel unfulfilled.
