I blame Fox News. They always take the Fox’s side.
😀
The word “fox” has lots of connotations…”foxy lady”, don’t think there’s one of them in the WH…”out-foxed”, hmmmm…that one could be a possibility….”fox hole”….I’m already hiding in one.
The last three weeks of house renovation have been trying to say the least…workers of all ethnic persuasions, dust and dirt everywhere, electricity on and off and now the air conditioner is leaking…guess, in retrospect, we should have moved out but with a dog, a cat and a bird that would have been very difficult….Good Friday definitely had its bad side. Guess the good side is that I have hardly watched any “news” or followed many of the arguments “du jour”.
“they say” you’ll forget about all the inconvenience as soon as the remodeling is over, Don’t believe it. I’m still reeling from the work we had done in 1982. That is the reason I put off dong the kitchen in my condo for 20 years. (well, that and the $$). So all last summer and into the fall, I had the kitchen done (this is a building built in 1902) and once again developed a blood disorder that kept me home from work for 2 weeks, and had me move in with my daughter for those same 2 weeks. I was seeing hematologists and oncologists as well as on meds that caused all manor of side effects. I don’t think I’ll do the bathroom unless I can move away for a while. Good luck!
Thanks. It has been difficult but given all you went through I’d have to say we’re still doing ok.
Today is the 20 year anniversary of the OKC bombing.
Nineteenth?
April has been a pretty bloody month in our history.

My week is going okay. I worked myself to near death, but that’s normal anymore. However, today we are moving into our new house! So I’m super excited about that. I wish I had more time for you awesome peeps here at TCH, but certain parents and children in my county keep me pretty busy these days. I do love my job, but it’s impossible. You and I already knew this, but big cities come with LOTS of problems for families.
Good luck with your move ! How exciting !!
Love the “bunny hop” photo, too, by the way!
😀

I am not a fan of Rush, very rarely ever listen to him. but he is right about this.
I am sick of people thinking they have the right to tell people what they can eat and drink and where they should take their families. ever heard of mind your own business, straighten out your own house before telling others how to straighten out theirs?
I listen to Rush on my walkies and find myself agreeing with him more and more. He loves to find the hypocrisies in government and the media. He has no love for the Old Stream Media or the “drive-bys”. No wonder the Dems can’t stand him, those pesky facts 🙂
Since the Olallieberry crop is coming along nicely we decided to dig out the previous years’ frozen leftovers and make up a little jam this week. Sort of work it in between life’s events, ya know? Sounded simple. Seventeen batches and 60 some odd jars later we finished cleanup last night, tired, hurting and out of supplies. Hauled the last batch out to cool and check for sealing and it was time for supper. Opened the fridge and – – – found that OTHER batch we had popped in a day earlier to keep cold overnight! RATS!
It will just have to wait till Monday.
Meanwhile, we are now prepared for company.
If’n y’all’s fixin’ to crash a party in North Carolina ya need to work on your southern accent a little more, boy.
😀
Got off the phone with a friend from LaLa Land and she thinks half the movie industry is in melt down over the latest accusations. Insular world and open secrets are fine in NY and LA but doesn’t go over so well in small town USA. She says noone wants this to go to trial because too many names will be mentioned all the way up the food chain.

the nook that I have had less than a month has to be replaced. will not connect to wifi. I bought this one because my old one died. I bought that one because the first one I had died. I should receive the replacement in about a week. I only got them because the barnes and noble store closed in my town and it is a trip to go to one. right now the only places to get new books in my town are walmart or target. there are used book stores but no new ones.
do to a class action suit against them, I have almost $200 in free e=-books due me that I can not get to because the nooks keep breaking down
remember when you could just buy a book and read it? tell me again how progress has made my life easier.
I buy a lot of used books off Amazon. Good as new hard cover for a penny plus 4.99 shipping. if I can find it local used store it is twivce the price.
Sorry to hear about your nook. For my birthday, I bought an ipad and downloaded the kindle app and my library app. so I can either buy e-books or get them free from the library.with a shorter lending period. Honestly I never thought I would enjoy reading from a device but I love it (can change the font size, adjust the lighting and an automatic bookmark. Plus I can enlarge the photos.
You can also run the Nook app on the iPad or a PC, so you can keep all your books from B&N.
Piper, I recently upgraded (from my Kindle touch) to the iPad mini and am using the Kindle App — which is awesome. I’m in the process of setting my reader up with out local library. Btw, I highly recommend a free book called KINDLE BUFFET (by Steve Weber) which gives you the low down on finding the best free books, mags, and newspapers for your device. Enjoy your e-reader!
my son gave me a kindle for Christmas and it is working fine. so far the nook not so much
Yes, you can also buy a Samsung Galaxy tab and install the Nook (and the Kindle) app. For me, the Galaxy tab II 7.0 has been a very reliable tool.
Does it load pages very quickly? My tab 2 10.1 sets longevity whisker records between pages no matter what speed up apps I run.
Been thinking of leaving Verizon for an unlocked Note 3 on payg with at&t or t-mob, so we can use it in London, too. Any comments, anyone?
If you’re running a PC, you can also install the Nook app for it: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/nook-for-pc/379003591/?r=1&utm_source=google&cm_mmc=google-_-Nook%20DSA-_-Nook%20DSA%20Ad%20Group-_-DSA&pkw=_inurl%3A%2Fnook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=_inurl%3A%2Fnook&utm_campaign=Nook%20DSA&pmt=b. Unless your computer is a laptop, it won’t quite give that relaxing book feel, but it’s an option.
Miley Cyrus cancels the rest of the dates on her US tour.

Sure she is in the hospital but could it be because tickets aren’t selling and they need an excuse to stop the tour? They must carry insurance are they trying to get the insurance to cover the cost of canceling? Possibly sex isn’t selling too well.
The truth comes out:
OFA = trolling for Obama
What else are they going to do, tell it like it is? /snark

meeeshele don’t come here
The 1,200 students and invitees should keep silent if the school decides to let her speak against their wishes and then just not show up, leaving the venue half empty. Bad optics. Or she should recognize the day belongs to them.
The anniversary she will be there to promote is important and should have its own celebration. No reason to step on the kids’ day. She should come at a different time. Perhaps, they are afraid she wouldn’t be able to generate enough of a crowd if people didn’t want to also see their kids and grandkids graduate. Or they want to pass the cost of commemorating the anniversary onto the school district. Having her there will significantly raise the cost of the ceremony. I’d like to know who invited her.
