This is a song about a girl who sends her boyfriend off to war and ends up wearing her wedding dress at his funeral:

  3. swanspirit says:

That video “See You Again ” should come with a handkerchief or tissues !

  4. DeniseVB says:

This was my gateway song to being a country fan, I think from season 1 of American Idol ? A woman (Reba) confronting the “other” woman (Kelly Clarkson)……always gives me goosebumps.

  5. DeniseVB says:

Keep the tissues handy, nothing says domestic violence like a country song …..

Here’s the connection between Bawack and Bowe. Bawack’s initials are BO, his dog is named Bo and Bowe’s name is pronounced Bo.
Sorry I only get 3 hours of sleep last night and the old neurons are misfiring.

Slate has this headline: Don’t Desert Bergdahl

Honest to goddess. The obot enablers in the press have no shame.

  8. Lulu says:

The Pentagon and WH are already shifting the blame to the “lax discipline” of Bergdahl’s platoon. The NYT eats it up with a spoon. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/06/world/asia/bowe-bergdahl-walked-away-before-military-report-says.html
    Shameful.

    • mcnorman says:

Disgusting but appropriate for this White House.

    • lyn says:

The people who are commenting also are eating it up. I don’t care why Bergdahl walked away. Everyone is in full CYA mode. It is disgusting and shameful and entertaining. I hope Obama finally stepped in shit that he can’t wipe off his shoes.

When everyone seems to be a psychopath you are the psychopath.

    • swanspirit says:

Twisted Obama administration logic, the hero is the deserter , the psychopaths are the guys who didn’t desert and those who died looking for the “hero/deserter” . And some people are buying , yea even swallowing this whole .

Good reporting by James Rosen. The smartest ever president and administration were so focused on one goal that they didn’t see all the landmines out there. I have to wonder if they know the difference between tv show fantasies and reality.

Pentagon effort to free more hostages with Bergdahl nixed
The deal to free Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five Taliban detainees held by the U.S. military nixed a broader effort by the Department of Defense to include other U.S. citizens held by the Taliban and its allies, according to a top congressional aide.

The Department of Defense had a “broader goal” of including Caitlan Coleman of York , Pa., her baby who was born in captivity and her Canadian husband, Joshua Boyle, in a deal to free Bergdahl, said Joe Kasper, chief of staff to Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., who sits on the House Armed Services Committee.

Among Americans held captive is Warren Weinstein, a contractor from Rockville, Md., who was abducted in 2011 in Pakistan and is detained by al-Qaeda militants aligned with the Taliban.

“The DoD was looking at this in the whole scope of things, to deal with these people as well,” Kasper said. “Instead of five for one, why not five for five?”

“I don’t know how far they’d gotten in pursuing this broader goal,” Kasper said.

Good job, I r/t ‘d your quoted tweet too ! So this was done on purpose if they let hotel guests in and LET them take pictures? That’s almost unheard of at most of his private (fundraising) events much less in a foreign hotel gym. I do remember the press pool being locked in vans or tool sheds when he plays golf !

      • votermom says:

Too funny if true – was Obama thinking we’d be in awe of his weight training?

        • DeniseVB says:

Well, anything to stop talking about the VA and Bergdahl’s “heroism”. One of the gals on The Five mentioned he was doing her routine with the same weights 🙂

  15. DeniseVB says:

Megyn’s going to have Bergdahl’s squad “buddies” on her show tonight. First time they’ve all been together in years.

  16. DeniseVB says:

Ok, funny story. Had to ask my husband if troops ever left their position when he was a Platoon Leader in Vietnam. Oh hell yes, because the damn hookers and their pimp/drug dealers were always set up near USMC positions. And yes, as soon as someone went missing, they had to send some troops out to find them. Always dangerous. When they dragged them back to camp, he turned them over to his Gunny Sgt (the size of a Sherman tank) who beat the sh*t out of them then began to process them out of the Marines. True war is hell stories, the “fucking Kerrys” (his words, yet I campaigned for him though learned years later the Swiftboaters were right) are what got good troops killed. Not sure about the Army and Navy, but the Marines do “take care” of their own. 🙂

Of course in those years, it was a different military. Also learned that there are no atheists on the battlefield (or in fox holes), each unit had a Chaplain. I think they’re banned now, might offend a muslim’s deity.

Anyone want to “vote” in John Smart’s Presidential Poll ?

    http://johnwsmart.net/2014/06/05/june-potus-poll/

I did leave a comment explaining my vote.

    • 49erDweet says:

It’s not a true poll. It’s an agenda. An actual pollster lops off NOTHING this early. You add outliers now. If you’re honest. Or “smart”.

As posted in the prev thread, Rolling Stone has the reprinted Michael Hastings article.

    http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/americas-last-prisoner-of-war-20120607
Having read it in entirety and find that this whole adventure with Bergdahl is waaaay more complicated than what is currently being circulated.
I know where the Admin is going with this and those psychopath tweets have their roots in that article.
Wow I am so conflicted now. So much to think about.

    • swanspirit says:

I read that article, and I find it odd that the author expresses so much sympathy , empathy and understanding for Bergdahl , as a new soldier, and portrays his unit as “fuck-ups” without any shred of empathy or understanding for them as young men experiencing war for the first time as he does Bergdahl. Every other soldier has a background , a loving family and a perspective about the war . Because they did their duty doesn’t mean they approved of everything they saw and had to do . Neither does it mean they didn’t have issues .That the author was sympathetic to Bergdahl without any consideration for the other young men in his unit , bothered me a lot . I have a very different slant on this so far , especially after seeing the interview with his buddies on Megyn kelly . I do think that we should have brought him home , but of course Obama did it , so he used it for politics as usual , made a mess of it , and has no shame .

OT sorta . . . I saw something while I was coming home from work Thursday night that covered bronco’s “impressive workout” in Poland. The report mentioned that” in addition to playing basketball he works out 45 minutes every day.” He is invested in his physical well-being. Since I was reading this on my not-so-smart phone, I really am not aware of what site I was reading. BUT
I am now aware that in addition to playing golf anytime it isn’t raining or snowing and he isn’t at a fundraiser (party!), he now spends more time playing at being healthy and “in shape” than he does playing POTUS in the Oval Office. And we are paying him for that. What a gig.
I’m sitting here a 1:00 a.m. because I have a major toothache that may be related to a blow to my face 3 weeks ago (an incident with a steel and glass door at the train station) and I cannot workout or shoot hoops or golf and I cannot go to a dentist until Saturday because I WORK at my meager but important job. And my pension has been usurped and salaries have been frozen by the state of Illinois – the one that wants to commit $100 million for starters for a BHO library/museum. And I am currently tired, in pain and resentful that this yahoo that I never voted for, is working out for the cameras in Poland, country of my ancestors and a place I’ll never get to see. AND I pay him for this. 😦

A country song that makes me a puddle is Need You Now by Lady Antebellim. Raising a kid can be thankless. Diapers and discipline often color you as the bad guy. Has to be done. Bio parents can show up twice a year and spoil a kid making you look like bad guy when you endure epic battles about flossing. My youngest brother got married last year. DJ said I have a special request. Need You Now. She played it for me. A tiny tear ran down her cheek. Erin my brothers new wife said I am out done att my own wedding but that is beautiful.http://youtube.com/#/watch?v=eM213aMKTHg

One more over the top country theme. 11th grade hated by my teachers cause I did not fit into their world. Big IQ but a very strange child. MR FIggis was trying to teach us about Hemmingway. Poor guy. No sooner had he uttered the words Island in the Stream that Cathy Carlton and I broke out in full song. We both got 10 days in school suspension.

A center for “special needs” students in Massachusetts routinely uses electroshock “therapy” to control “misbehaving” students.

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? 👿

The Justice Dept. is investigating the situation, but they need to be reminded that people are concerned about this. Here is a petition which you can sign:
