When The Going Gets Tough, Obama Goes Fundraising

Iraq is falling apart, Iran has just joined the party, we have thousands of unaccompanied illegal immigrant children flooding into the southwest, and while the media is distracted by Eric Cantor’s defeat they are sneaking Bowe Bergdahl back into the U.S. in the dead of night.

So what is Obama doing about it? He’s going fundraising tonight, then flying out to Anaheim to do some more fundraising tomorrow, followed by a couple days golfing and fundraising in Palm Springs.

No word yet whether he’ll be there to welcome Bergdahl home.

Obama is such a poser. The thing is he is such a twit that even if he took his responsibilities seriously he would likely be useless.

The Hillary story is to divert attention from the implosion of the Obama administration. This is inside the beltway minutiae. Nobody gives a crap about Hillary during on-going multiple international disasters. Go cover something that is important Howard you gossip and peeper. “See Hill is worser” is not going to cut it.

Fox news reports that VP Biden has just told Iraqi President that USA is ready to step up and back up the official government of Iraq. WTF?! Where is Obama? Also the Kurds have announced their take over of some northern territory.

  7. Constance says:

FOX news reports that Iranian troops are fighting alongside the militants in Iraq.

    • Falstaff says:

This is extremely unlikely. Iran will support the Shi’a in Baghdad against the Sunni militants. Expect Iran to become the de facto rulers of Shi’a sections of what was once Iraq.

Where the f*ck did that come from? Are they simply brainless dolts? I have literally NO TIME for these simpletons. TruthTeam, my ass. It is getting so bad they are jumping on stuff like this in order to try to deflect bronco’s complete lack of anything close to ability to manage anything other than his golf schedule.

That was back in October 2012.

      • DeniseVB says:

It was posted right before the 2012 election. I’ve seen many from the “truth team” archives recently as reminders how Obama’s team worked. Heh.

Thanks, you guys. I’ve been stuck at my office for hours trying to get my computer back up (It went down in the middle of checking my a.m. email even before I started seeing clients. ) and feeling really frustrated. Seeing that tweet was just about more than I could stomach.

  11. Lulu says:

Why did Bergdahl’s parents think he had forgotten English? He was sending letters to them (which they think were from him) via the Red Cross. It does appear that he may have forgotten how to spell. He also admits to desertion and blames officers on stuff that he does not appear to understand. The blame someone else generation strikes again. What a dunce. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/12/exclusive-bergdahl-explains-in-prison-letters-why-he-vanished.html

    • smile says:

It is very reasonable that Bowe Bergdahl had difficulty remembering English when they picked him up. I speak from experience as an immigrant from another country, who immigrated to USA, and did not have anyone to speak my mother tongue with while in the USA. Occasionally, I listened to music in my mother tongue and could understand it. I even wrote letters home in my native language, with lots of difficulty and was able to read very slowly and understand letters from home as well. And when I visited them after a few years, I had great difficulty speaking to my family in my mother tongue, and would constantly ask for help with translating words that I couldn’t remember, basic words, such as names of body parts. After about 1-2 weeks, I was able to converse better, and in 2 months I was more natural, but still not at my former proficiency. And keep in mind that I lost my knowledge of speaking my mother tongue without being under any duress in the USA and was able to recall it back when visiting them under very favorable circumstances. Also when I am visiting my family, then I also forget many common things in the USA, and cannot think of their names / words immediately.

Speaking is a different skill than writing and reading. When speaking one is expected to respond immediately, and it involves moving muscles in your mouth that are different from language to language. I could listen, read and write, but speaking my mother tongue was quite difficult.

So I can fully understand how Bowe Bergdahl would have difficulty remembering English. He wasn’t exactly having a party there, he was held as a prisoner, and did not have anyone to speak English with. One may not appreciate him leaving the post, still he is a human being who made a wrong choice during wartime, and he deserves our human compassion. War is hell for a reason and different people respond to the same set of circumstances differently. Let us wait for him to be tried by the military under UCMJ for his actions. Still we as fellow humans, can certainly find in our hearts some compassion, especially when many of us did not opt to join the military and go to war, whereas he did.

My husband immigrated to the United States in his late teens without his family. He, too, did not have anybody to speak to in his native language; all of his co-workers and friends were English speakers. There is pretty much no media in his native language in the State. After having spent nearly his entire adult life in the States–19 years–he returned to his native country with me and the kids in tow. Strangely enough, he is able to communicate with people! Fluently! I have never heard of a first-generation immigrant forgetting his or her language, and having lived in LA for many years, I certainly met a lot of them.

It’s really embarrassing to see an administration crumble in quick time. At least Nixon took a couple of weeks to implode. Obama’s gonna do it on the sixth green…….and not even notice. Talk about clueless.

    • The Klown says:

Nixon was corrupt, but not incompetent. If it wasn’t for Watergate he would have been ranked as one of the near-greats.

      • 49erDweet says:

I think he was more psychotic than corrupt, but they share many similarities. He had brilliant moments and then did utterly stupid stuff. He also shared with the big nothing a capacity to attract loyally stupid hanger-ons.

    • Constance says:

Do you really think the Obama regime is crumbling? Everything around him is crumbling but I think he and his regime will just persist. Unless, has Biden pushed him aside? That is just so weird that FOX reports Biden is actively managing the Iraq situation.

They must be hiding in the bathroom or ran off to Starbucks to tweet. Uncle Joe just thinks he is in control because they all disappeared at the same time. I had a boss who would do that when we went to lunch. He would start answering the phones and yelling at clients.

          • 49erDweet says:

It’s probably not a big deal because Jose the Veep can’t stay on track more than 22 minutes, anyway, ………….how about that World Cup coverage? Neat, huh?

      • 49erDweet says:

The greater question is will.it be ALLOWED to continue crumblin? Probably not. Adults from somewhere will step in. Old Fart Joe will be corralled. Teh Muhdia will paper over the cracks. Nothing to see here. Keep moving…

    More on Cantor’s defeat
“I think it was cumulative, including the arrogance of trying to sweep the slate of tea party candidates,” Young America’s Foundation President Ron Robinson told TheDC. “It is a surprising win, but I am not surprise at least one ‘leader’ was ousted.”

“Ultimately, this is hubris at its greatest,” said the communications VP. “I don’t know how much you’ve worked with him, but he’s pretty arrogant, and ultimately that led to a flawed strategy where on the one side, he was poking conservatives in the Virginia state party with the convention, and on the other side the only thing he was saying about his competitor is ‘He’s a liberal professor.’ So conservatives were already pissed off at him, and then he got some of the moderates — he ginned them up to support this guy. He outflanked himself on both sides because of his own arrogance.”

    • Lulu says:

He was fixated on power politics, taking over Virginia Republican machine money and ignored his district because he thought it was a lock. He went to Davos, schmoozed in the Hamptons and on Wall St, etc and turned it over to his staff who took his lead. The staff are described as the most arrogant and biggest assholes on the Hill. The staff sent out form letters to constituent requests that did not even apply and were openly rude. They could care less because they were looking for the big bucks (K St jobs and big contributions). His wife is on the Chamber of Commerce Foundation board, and works the director circuit and is “in” high finance. Both were on the make and the emotional feel good “our kids” about illegal immigrants comes straight from the people they were hanging out with who only see them digging their swimming pools.

I said it before but it bears repeating , fundraising = party .

    • Lulu says:

Fundraising=party=captive audience=droning on and on to hear his own voice.
A recent article about his new love of diplomatic parties in Europe in which protocol prevents guests leaving before he does was very instructive. He loves to have the floor, dominate the conversation, not listen to anyone else, talk about stuff he knows nothing about (which is everything) and physically control people who are either rich (can buy his tickets) or who are somehow notable. They also have much better manner than he does. He is an insecure bully.

      • The Klown says:

He imagines that after he leaves office he will start his own (better) version of the Clinton Global initiative.

He has nowhere near the people skills of the Big Dawg. Once he’s out of office he’ll stay on the A-list because he’s an ex-POTUS but nobody will be listening anymore.

I saw something very sad today and I am not talking about the money I lost on an illegal poker machine. First time I ever played one with real money. Odds are awful. Beyond the deficit to my bank account a young woman came into the bar with tons of roses. Walking up to everyone selling them for a buck a piece. She had to walk through the place approaching tables . So many people were mocking her after she left. I bought one as it was a buck. Tried to ask her if she needed some help. Little english . I remember a major bust in New York with deaf asian children living in squalor forced to sell garbage on the subway . When they didn’t meet their quota bad things happened. Whoever is pimping her owns her She has debt to repay.
Pimp buys the rotting flowers for cash florist writes it off as a loss. Young woman parades through the few bars in my neighborhood.
A car is necessary to go from one to another. I am not a math genius but my baby girl had dance performance earlier and I got her a dozen for a lot more than a dollar apiece.
She sold one flower to me. In the whole place. I asked if dhe needed help. Maybe no cmprrhende.
Gut tells me this is not good. I know places that protect women in jeopardy. Woman disappear all the time ftom abuse often in their own cities. Mostly Nuns.
She left with an angry man behind the wheel of an SUV was driving.
I am still against amnesty for illegals but wow I do not know how to think. THe guys who sold the roses for cash on the side are just as culpable if they recorded it as total loss.
She is a child but not stupid.
I plan on talking to the sisters of something or other what to do. For allI know this woman could be protecting her own child or other family.
BABbling but every business that skimped and used illegal immigrant is culpable for Consuela girl of the streetsa(Believe in the last century her name was Maggie)

While I am being effussive I am going to mention again as I have done in the past. Imdependrncr day is less than three weeks off amd there are woman hiding from abuse with kids in crisis centers all over the country. I do not undrrstand tax law enough but I know that if you give to a charity and wtite off there has to be a paper trail. So anonymous gifts are best. I buy lady’s razors, deordarant give used stuff but you have to specify that you are dropping it off or say I am not donating just leaving it for Sister Ignatious O’reilley.
