Catch and Release

NBC Los Angeles:

Protesters Block Bus Carrying Immigrants

Buses carrying migrant families were rerouted to a U.S.-Mexican border station after being blocked by protesters waving American flags in a suburban Southern California city Tuesday.

Protesters, some yelling, “They’re not born here!” and “Go back to Mexico!” stood in the street, blocking the buses as they were headed to the suburban border patrol station in Murrieta.

Demonstrators got in the faces of counter demonstrators in the middle of the roadway. There was some pushing and shoving, but there were no arrests.

The buses were coming to Murrieta to drop off 140 undocumented immigrants, who illegally crossed into the United States through Texas.

They are the first wave of migrants who are supposed to be processed at that location, before being released to to family or friends until they are called into immigration court.

That’s because agents can only search criminal histories in the U.S. not other countries.

“Nothing is going to stop them from turning around and walking across the street, or walking into the downtown area, or getting on a bus and going somewhere else,” Mark Yarbrough, a Perris City councilman.

Enrique Morones, an immigrant rights activist, countered that these children are fleeing dangerous lives in Central America, “where if they don’t leave, they die.”

The first question I have is why are illegal aliens who were captured in Texas being shipped to California for processing? Doesn’t Texas have a border we can take them to and dump ’em?

If you read carefully you will see that nowhere in the story does it state that any of these illegal aliens are children. Expect that many of the things you will see and hear about this protest will make that assumption. I guess we have to take everyone whose homeland is a crappy place to live.

Nor does the article mention any racial animus on the part of the protesters, but you can expect racism and xenophobia to be blamed, even though nobody is objecting to the millions of Hispanics already living here legally.

But this is the part that really pisses me off:

They are the first wave of migrants who are supposed to be processed at that location, before being released to to family or friends until they are called into immigration court.

So these people came here illegally. They were among the minority of illegal aliens who get caught by the Border Patrol. So what do we do with them??

We give them a court date and let them go!!

Can you guess how many of them fail to appear in court? Go ahead, guess!

90%

NINETY-FUCKING-PERCENT TAKE LEG BAIL AND DISAPPEAR!!!

But wait! There’s more!

Surprise: Unaccompanied children crossing border may have right to stay

Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

If you haven’t heard of it before now, you probably will as tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors flood across the border, having been “abandoned” by their parents in Central America.

A Legal Insurrection reader tipped us off to what could be a coming legal onslaught to give these children a right to stay in the U.S. permanently:

“Special Immigrant Juvenile Status is something that we attorneys on the border have been getting CLE training in for a while, but largely it has not been well known outside of CPS attorney work.

With the invasion now taking place, it is going to explode. No parents means that any immigrant child under 18 can apply for a Green Card as soon as they are deemed “abandoned” by their parents for 6 months by the court system. There are some other minor rules, but that is the big one….

It just keeps getting better and better:

On Wednesday, Rep. Jim Bridenstine (R-OK) sent out a press release chronicling his recent trip to a facility maintained by the department of Health and Human Services established to house up to 1,200 unaccompanied alien children (UAC) who crossed the southern border illegally. Bridenstine’s trip was a short one, however, as the congressman was denied access to the facility by an HHS official.

Bridenstine asserted that he attempted to contact Ken Wolfe, HHS’s deputy director of the office of public affairs, in order to express his frustration over being denied access to Ft. Sill, a facility in the congressman’s district. Wolfe reportedly did not take Bridenstine’s call, but he was advised to contact the office via email.

“After my visit today with the base commander, I approached the barracks where the children are housed. A new fence has been erected by HHS, completely surrounding the barracks and covered with material to totally obscure the view,” Bridenstine said in a statement (via @Sqwerin). “Every gate is chained closed.”

“I approached a security guard and asked to speak with the manager of the facility. The guard called his supervisor who said no visitors were allowed. I asked if they were aware that I am a Member of Congress. Eventually the manager came out and said that I would have to go through HHS legislative affairs and that the first chance to visit would be July 21st.

“What are they trying to hide? Do they not want the children to speak with Members of Congress? As a Navy pilot, I have been involved in operations countering illicit human trafficking. I would like to know to whom these children are being released.”

Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about illegal immigrants or face arrest

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say.

In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

“There were several of us who wanted to talk about the camps, but the agents made it clear we would be arrested,” a psychiatric counselor told me. “We were under orders not to say anything.”

The sources said workers were guarded by a security force from the BCFS, which the Department of Health and Human Services hired to run the Lackland Camp.

The sources say security forces called themselves the “Brown Shirts.”

“It was a very submissive atmosphere,” the counselor said. “Once you stepped onto the grounds, you abided by their laws – the Brown Shirt laws.”

She said the workers were stripped of their cellphones and other communication devices. Anyone caught with a phone was immediately fired.

“Everyone was paranoid,” she said. “The children had more rights than the workers.”

She said children in the camp had measles, scabies, chicken pox and strep throat as well as mental and emotional issues.

“It was not a good atmosphere in terms of health,” she said. “I would be talking to children and lice would just be climbing down their hair.”

Happy 3rd of July!

As I “reported” on another blog, the numbers released in this fake jobs report reflects seasonal hires in the resort areas. In my area alone, it’s about 200k (give or take 150k if you’re doing Common Core math, heh). We have a Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Jamestown, sports fishing boats, beaches and way too many golf courses and swimming pools. Not to mention the landscapers and builders punching up their summer crews.

How I think of the JUNE jobs numbers, how many kids in the US just graduate high school and college in May/June? Only 200k found jobs?

What the Bronco administration doesn’t want you to know about illegal alien child dumping: http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Texas/2014/07/03/Dallas-ISD-May-Give-Glimpse-Into-Migrant-Education-Costs
“Federal law like Plyler v. Doe tie the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) hands as Breitbart Texas reported. Texas public schools must accept the migrant minors. If Dallas ISD shelters these minors, those education services kick in immediately, according to Kenneth Wolfe, Deputy Director of Administration for Children and Families, a division of the US Department of Health and Human Services.”
The average local cost per illegal alien child in school is north of $10,000 per child per year. That is not covered by the feds or spread among the federal taxpayers. That is mandated to be provided by local school districts and one of the reasons that Texas has some of the highest school taxes anywhere. They are going to blow out school district budgets everywhere they place them and why local officials are fighting back. In a center with only 1000 extra kids the cost is $10 million for one district THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

WOW, just, WOW. Watch this video (I think it’s a news team from Detroit?). Then compare to how corporate media is reporting it. Dumbasses!!

      • Lulu says:

If we don’t have a border that is enforced and no one respects exactly why do we have to respect or do what Bronco says? What’s he going to do? Say “Sue me”? He is undercutting his own legal authority and doesn’t seem to understand that is a large part of his poll numbers dropping. It is complex but if he will give it away to non-citizens he looses authority with legal citizens. Why should anyone listen to him or do what he says? He can’t even enforce an internationally recognized border.

        • DeniseVB says:

The child and his mom were from Guatemala, how are they getting across the Mexican border down there? I have no problem with a refugee humanitarian situation, but this all stinks of Obama creating a crisis to blame Republicans, then can’t fix the crisis and blame Republicans again. I loved that this video was more “empty suits in Washington need to stop making speeches and do something” than partisan. That little boy stole my heart, the border cemetary scenes that followed, broke it 😦

  6. If you had a work force of 100 employees working forty hours per week and reduced them to twenty nine hours per week you could hire 37.9 new employees. The employer still has their 4000 hours of work (might even pay less for part time) and might get out of AHC. The new hire numbers go up and unemployment numbers go down. These employees really take a beating and suffer a pay cut.

    • Constance says:

That is exactly what is happening where I live. Restaurants and gyms are cutting hours and so there are a bunch of low wage people having their hours cut. I am down to working 10 hours a week (which doesn’t really matter to me financially but I prefer to work). Of course the government outright lies about the statistics too and then quietly revises them downwards so you can’t believe anything they say.

  7. Constance says:

I am really glad that legal citizens are getting out and protesting the dumping of illegals in their communities. It’s about time. It looked like all the protesters where white though. Black and brown skinned folks are suffering in our stagnant economy too I wonder why they aren’t protesting. Maybe they are working several part time jobs to make ends meet and don’t have time.

Some are poor and poxed. Some are gang members. Some are sex traffickers. Some are bringing rent a child with them and then abandoning them. Some are drug mules. But almost all of them are paying coyotes who charge thousands of dollars. Where does this money come from if you are so desperately poor and poxed?

Some borrow the money (from who I don’t know), some have the money from relatives in the US legally. Some have the money because our laws are not enforced on illegals working in the US by US employers who like cheap labor subsidized by taxpayers who want more cheap labor tax subsidized workers. Some are running away from awful families. Some are looking for an education for their children or medical help with their sick or handicapped children (this is not be reported). Some may be orphans being dumped or encouraged to leave by a shit government.

The Mexican and Central American government will continue to “encourage” populations to leave that they do not wish to deal with, provide basic services for, or who may demand an overhaul of their corrupt crony systems. The “eleven year old” boy who died just over the border was actually 15 and coming to the US because he wanted to make money to help his sick mom because his own government doesn’t do things like that for their citizens (why not!) and “bored” according to his parents. They also wanted the money he would have made to be sent to them like his older brother does. Who the hell lets a fifteen year old take off to make money for them at the risk of his life but not theirs?

By letting these countries have an escape pressure valve to avoid dealing with their own economic and social problems we are not doing them a favor. It extends the time that poverty, crime, their corrupt upper class control everything. We should not let Obama make this a dumping ground for corrupt governments even if he as a special philosophical connection with them.

This is why I am completely frustrated with the Republicans and the House members. You can’t control this asshole without taking away his budget, and they basically signed a blank check last September. The only reason I won’t vote Democrat in protest is because the one thing the GOP is doing is keeping another legislative disaster like Obamacare from being passed in the lame duck session

Clean water is much needed through out the world. There are so many kids in America from south of the border with very serious kidney diseases. Zuckerberg has spent 100 million dollars on amnesty while buying all the property around his place so he can select his neighbors. Yet he expects us to sit back idly while our local schools get crushed. Screw him and soros. They could make a real difference by providing something like a water filtration system. Wikipedia calls soros a philanthropist. My ass, he gives to what promotes his agenda. I have heard him speak of the American middle class with absolute disdain. He bank rolled obama.
These kids and later families are going to be dumped all over the country in the poorest neighborhoods and the kids will suffer. Every child who died on route to the US or who was sexually victimized has the evil fucks in office to thank.

That or heat stroke or raped and then killed to shut them up, or any number of things. Do the families pay half up front and half on proof of entry into the USA? Even getting the flu and having diarrhea and or vomiting can kill children quickly. Or snake bites, irritating human traffickers with childish whining and being beaten as a result. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with the arrangement.

  17. mothy67 says:

Pisses me off that children are being used as pawns. Call me callous but my first concern is for the kids that got a place in my tiny heart. I detest the “it takes a village mentality”. No it does not it takes responsibility. You make a choice when you have a kid. It can suck. Cruds are expensive but it is not the governments responsibility to raise your kid or make it easy. Local eight year old in my kid’s class runs around the neighborhood all hours of the day. I attempted to be decent. She stole, broke things walks up to me out of nowhere and says all men suck. Her dad was not there when she was born and has never been there one day in her life. She senses how much I cherish my brat so she has done things like let my dogs out and then bring them to me saying she found them running loose. I tried and what I percieve is the girl wants some structure. I cannot make her do her homework. I cannot give her an allowance and take it away. I spoke with the school because all her mother does is whine about her life. My father has COPD and he is my baby girl’s coach. Never sends her kid with anty money and noone complains when we go to get ice cream after a game her. Kids get it too.
My point is that there is only so much and then you say enough. I feel the same way about what is taking place at the border. It is manipulation pure and simple. A play on base emotion.

I feel for a single mother with two kids tending bar but I will be damned if I am not going to protect mine first.

    • Constance says:

Well if the Progs think they are playing on my emotions with the illegal central American children they should worry what emotion they are inspiring. The emotion I feel is resentment. And I strongly opposed a comprehensive immigration reform. Hell no to amnesty. If you reward people for coming here they will risk everything to get here. When you stop rewarding them they will stop coming.

So Progs keep saying illegals bring economic benefit to America. How does that work? It looks like we spend all kinds of money on them and they then take all of our low level jobs and drive the rate of pay down.

I agree I lived in Wahington Heights for many years I had something called a chelezon( spelling way off)’ It was like a super stye on my eyelid. I went to Columbia Presybetarian for treatment. I had no insurance but it cost me 700 at the eye clinic. I do not use soap ever on my face but I shower every day. He told me it was most likely because of pillows I bought on Broadway. Raises a question are there immunities built up in other countries that we have no defense for? Granted I could have washed my face ever but I always had clear skin and honestly my mother has acne scars and all of my brothers even today 30 years later use expensive shit on their ski . Odd I am the gay brother and I sniff test my clothes to rewear but they will not wear a pair of jeans twice and iron everything. Once or twice a year I need to be pressed and then it is dry cleaners.

      • angienc says:

Amnesty for illegals is racist against immigrants (especially Hispanic ones) who are here legally *and* African-Americans because those are the people who are more likely in the jobs that the illegal aliens will be vying for, because lets be honest — the people risking life & limb who come here illegally aren’t competing to be head of surgery at Cedar Sinai *or* editor in chief at the New York Times.
