I made a sign

From Newsweak:

Hundreds of protesters gathered at a suburban St. Louis police station on Monday demanding murder charges against an officer who shot to death an unarmed black teenager over the weekend.

Up to 15 people were arrested during the largely peaceful protests, which took place after a night of rioting when demonstrations over the death of Michael Brown, 18, turned violent, St. Louis County police said.

About two dozen businesses were damaged in the rioting overnight, 32 people were arrested, and two officers were injured, police said.

“It breaks my heart,” Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson told reporters on Monday. “Last night was the worst night of my life.”

The FBI is looking into any civil rights violations in the case, a spokeswoman for the agency said. St. Louis County police is leading the investigation into the shooting itself.

Jackson said there was plenty of physical evidence and eyewitness testimony. “I really believe we can get to the truth of what happened here,” he said.

Brown’s family has asked for an end to the street violence, according to media reports. They have hired lawyer Benjamin Crump, who represented the family of Trayvon Martin, a black Florida teenager who was unarmed when he was shot and killed by a neighborhood watchman in 2012.

Protesters at Monday’s gathering shouted “Stop the killer cops” and “No justice, no peace.”

Police said Brown was shot on Saturday afternoon after a struggle over a gun in a police car. It was not immediately clear why Brown was in the car. At least one shot was fired during the struggle, and then the officer fired more shots before leaving the car.

Sadly, Benjamin Crump isn’t the only ambulance-chasing race-pimp who is inserting himself into this case. Reverend Al Sharpton is heading to Missouri today and yesterday Eric Holder’s FBI announced they were opening a civil rights investigation into the shooting.

Who is Michael Brown? Why did he die? What really happened?

I don’t have the answers to those questions but it doesn’t really matter. The only thing that matters is that Michael Brown was black and he was killed by a white police officer. Racial politics controls this story now.

Michael Brown is now and hereafter an innocent victim of racist oppression who was murdered in cold blood for the “crime” of being black. The officer who killed him is a cowardly racist. Anything less than a murder conviction for the officer and a huge cash award to Brown’s family will be injustice.

Despite everything else going on in this world right now, the death of Michael Brown is a MAJOR STORY. Reporters must report. Bloviators must bloviate. Politicians must politic. Race pimps must pimp race.

The truth is irrelevant. If the facts fit the racial politics narrative that is convenient but if they don’t fit it won’t change a thing.

Meanwhile, every damn day young black men are murdered by other young black men in this country and nobody gives a fuck. Welcome to Obama’s post-racial America, where the only thing that matters is race.

I don’t know what really happened but I seriously doubt that some racist cop working in a predominantly black town just one day decided to murder a black man and picked out Brown at random to be his victim.

  2. well, sadly, at least the death of Robin Williams will knock this story off the front pages…..

      Love Kevin Jackson…..

Al Sharpton is flying in from an earlier potential payday, where a cop choked a man to death. Tragic story that doesn’t need Sharpton. And neither does this story. But that won’t stop Sharpton from making sure that people THINK he is powerful.

The NAACP wants the FBI to look into it, though I suspect the cop who did the shooting was black. If that cop were white, I think this story would be at Defcon 1. The NAACP spin will be that they are protecting black people against the oppressive police. They don’t seem to realize that cops are government. Further, where is the NAACP in asking the FBI to check in when black teens are killing other black people?

There is a reason there are a disproportionate number of black men in jail; and despite the Liberals tome, it’s not because the police are bad. This cops didn’t decide come off a donut break to target Michael Brown for sport. The cop stopped Brown for a reason. Would you hang out in a black neighborhood for “shiggles,” if you didn’t have to?

And like with the Trayvon Martin story, if Brown had complied with the cop, instead of playing Tommy Toughass, he would likely be alive today.

I’m not exonerating a cop for a bad decision, if he acted hastily or irrationally. But people need to learn how to behave with the men in blue, because they have a difficult job. Stupidity on anybody’s part enhances that difficulty exponentially.

Like I said, if black Liberals don’t want the protection of cops, just let the cops know. I would appreciate the added police presence in my hood. I’ll even give them hot coffee and donuts.

Holey Moley, Martha! Who’d a thunk throwing rocks at cops would give criminals encouragement to commit actual crime?

And that part of St Louis will be abandoned by businesses because they can no longer afford the new exorbitant insurance rates needed to stay open. If you notice where the Twitter planned “fights” broke out in the most luxurious shopping area as a prelude to looting it was in front of the Apple Store and Nordstrom’s who are both known for civil rights violations. /s/

Welcome to “Post Racial America” /s

If they’re going to float this story, they better get busy getting some facts out there. Amazing to me that every “racist” word of a batshit crazy NFL owner can be documented in record time, but these facts? Lets keep ’em hazy, so even more racial tension can evolve….

In the earliest accounts, the shooting happened inside the police car when the perp tried wrestling the gun from the policeman while he was in custody. Then, it was “reported” that he was shot from 35 feet away. So which is it?

Today’s meme is that the cop who did the shooting is black. WTF?! If thats the case, will it still be deemed a hate crime? Or will it remain ambiguous in an attempt to NOT discuss black on black shootings.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven, and I suspect it will remain (purposely) ambiguous because its an election year and racial tension is always a plus for the Dems (eye roll)…..

    • lyn says:

You make good points that our disgraceful news media will ignore. I bet the Dems are drooling over another “Trayvon Martin” to keep everyone on the plantation for November.

    • The Klown says:

The racial politics narrative requires that the shooter be white. That is why George Zimmerman became a “white Hispanic”.

Might work. Also think allowing the losing presidential candidate to appoint the AG, with all the usual confirmation process to follow, might go a long way towards restoring political civility.

  8. Kathy says:

It’s too much–makes a lot of white people feel like only black victims get the force of the federal government. People should wait to find out what happened instead of jumping to conclusions. Reminds me –years ago, I taught at a mostly black school and was called to the deans office and told that I wrote too many discipline referrals on black students. I had to remind him that I only had black students–really and that I only wrote a referral when there was no other option available. Beside the jerks, I did have some wonderful black students that I treasure to this day.

  9. Lulu says:

“While whites, blacks and Asians generally kept their status between the 2000 and 2010 U.S. Census review of the population, Hispanics, especially among younger immigrants, were quicker to change.”
This is what I have been seeing for a while. It is a culture or heritage and many of Hispanic descent resent being labeled as somehow being a different “race”. They don’t see themselves as different from other European-Americans (and they are not) especially when it is used to stir up fake identity politics. I hope this is backfiring on Democrats.

    • Somebody says:

I’m glad to see that and you are correct Hispanic is a culture not a race. There are Hispanics of varying degrees of pigmentation, their common bond is their language and their culture. If only the middle aged Hispanics would see the light and realize how they’ve been manipulated.

Oh and FYI, if you mention to a Hispanic that Hispanic isn’t a race be prepared for a backlash from most. I don’t speak Spanish so I have no idea what was said to me, LOL!

    • DandyTIger says:

Well, they’re “white hispanics” when it suits the racial narrative. Maybe they’re noticing how they’re tossed under the bus too.

      • Lulu says:

Intermarriage has a lot to do with it. There has been a tremendous amount of marriage between Anglo Americans and Hispanic Americans in Texas for a very long time. I have a niece and nephew who are told they are Hispanic by their somewhat radicalized mom but totally reject it. They have Anglo names, rejected Catholicism when they were teenagers, refused to take Spanish in high school (they were more interested in their father’s distant French ancestry which they knew little about), and look like very attractive American young adults. They simply do not care about that stuff and refuse to be labeled.

So in an online sewing group I belong to a lady says she’s thinking of applying for a job at JoAnn Fabrics for the holidays. Another woman says to her there’s a Hobby Lobby opening in your area soon, why not apply there instead? They pay almost $4 an hour more and the store discount is more generous. First lady says I can’t work there because they don’t pay for birth control. Second lady says, “Weren’t you just complaining about going through menopause last week?” “But I don’t want my employer involved in my health care decisions.” Me – “How many mental health visits does your plan pay for? Does it cover rehab? Can you get plastic surgery? How many visits to a physical therapist? Does you doctor have to prescribe generic drugs?” Response – “We didn’t know you’re a Republican!”

  12. DeniseVB says:

Hard to avoid the Robin Williams tributes on the news and social media, but nobody seems to be talking about The Birdcage? I’d think the LGBT community would point out by now that was one of his finest roles, a non-sterotypical gay man. Of course, Nathan Lane was just playing himself playing a gay man playing a straight woman 😀 I watch this movie whenever it comes on, so damn funny!

    • leslie says:

I haven’t had much time for tv or TCH but one of my favorite Robin Williams movies is “Moscow on the Hudson” (along with “Fisher King”).

    • Constance says:

I keep thinking of “What Dreams May Come” a weird and not very popular movie that Robin Williams made where he died and went to a totally ideal heaven but then his wife died and went to hell and he tried to save her. I keep remembering him in all these ideal heaven scenes.

Use of deadly force in defense of property will likely result in a charge of aggravated assault, ag. battery or second degree murder depending on the outcome of the confrontation.

      • Somebody says:

It depends which state you’re talking about, every state has different laws. I can defend my castle and my castle extends to my car according to Florida law.

        • SHV says:

There may be exceptions depending on state law but basically the “Castle Doctrine” only removed the “duty to retreat” from the five legal components for a self defense claim. IANAL Those idiots in the above picture will be in for a big surprise and very expensive surprise if they attempt to defend property using deadly force.

      • The Klown says:

Urban rioters always loot and pillage their local stores.

      • 49erDweet says:

Simple remedy. Arrest the looters for a specific crime occurring in your presence, a citizen’s arrest as it were, and then use of deadly force is valid against those attempting to evade said arrest and/or your custody.
