Now the Giants travel to Washington to play the Nationals in a best-of-five divisional series.

Great game by your Giants last night! The next series should be an entertaining one, that’s for sure…

Thought I’d do a little scouting report for you…. 😉

DMV is DC-MD-VA , if you follow the Nationals timeline people are posting their photo and where they found it. Free tickets to Game 2’s the prize!

Which raises the question: “Why don’t we call Washington D.C. “Columbia”? It is the (federal) district OF Columbia, so why not call it by that name?
I know “Columbia” is a synonym for “The United States of America”, but why shouldn’t it’s capitol proudly share the same name?

          • Mt.Laurel says:

I am still trying to figure out why they have been pushing that stupid DMV. An acronym many across the country associate with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Metro/Greater DC/DC-Baltimore corridor are all better options and not so vague. But I am middle aged and not hip or cool. Nor do I need to reduce everything to 140 characters.

I am waiting for someone to insist the PA/OH/WVA tri-state area be called POW or better yest. WOP.

  2. Lulu says:

Ebola guy’s family knew he had it because they called the CDC and complained about the hospital.
I would hope that some kind of criminal charges can be filed against them for helping to get him into this country and place him somewhere with the most sophisticated medical resources thus endangering the entire continent. Bitching about the hospital goes both ways. When in the ER they only told the intake clerk when asked what his SSN was that he didn’t have one since he was visiting from Liberia. THEY DID NOT TELL the hospital he had been directly exposed to Ebola. Then they complain because the hospital didn’t GUESS correctly and put him in isolation immediately with FREE care. They knew what they were doing.

    • votermom says:

      • Lulu says:

He is also visiting his girlfriend. She is a “community” leader. She lives in Dallas and he lives in Liberia. She has five children. A nephew called the CDC when the hospital didn’t immediately take him and isolate him so they called to rat out the hospital. He came to the US as soon as he could get flights and came to Dallas. Then when he had fever he went to the ER to be admitted. BUT the hospital ER clerk missed the vague hints so the “girlfriend” could avoid culpability. It didn’t work so they called the CDC to complain because they were getting freaked out by him getting sicker (and vomiting everywhere like he did when the ambulance came). And the “girlfriend” community leader is sending FIVE children to school during all of this. What did they think they were doing? Now they are trying to blame the hospital? No. I don’t think so.

        • votermom says:

Those poor kids. That mom is criminally negligent.

          • Lulu says:

I only hope she sent them out of the house to stay with someone else but won’t tell anyone. Their stories are getting mixed up with various friends or family members giving out too much information both in the US and in Liberia. There is also supposedly a sister who met him at the airport in DC when he got to the US and flew with him to Dallas on the plane. If this is true they knew he was going to get sick and just wanted to get him to a really good Dallas hospital. This is unacceptable and must be prevented in the future.

    • votermom says:

They might not have known he was exposed – otherwise why let the kids mingle with him? But as soon as he got a fever they knew.

    • The Klown says:

      • Lulu says:

Duh. Rick Perry has some splaining to do too. Yesterdays it was all “it is under control”. The guy was sick all over the exterior of a big apartment complex while being loaded up in an ambulance not to mention sitting in a busy ER. Some of us have had to deal with ping-pong strep infections with kids in our own homes. It spreads like wildfire and you have to disinfect and sterilize EVERYTHING. They truly think we have no brains.

  11. The Klown says:

    Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta:

Through the fall of 2011, the main question facing the American military in Iraq was what our role would be now that combat operations were over. When President Obama announced the end of our combat mission in August 2010, he acknowledged that we would maintain troops for a while. Now that the deadline was upon us, however, it was clear to me–and many others–that withdrawing all our forces would endanger the fragile stability then barely holding Iraq together.

Privately, the various leadership factions in Iraq all confided that they wanted some U.S. forces to remain as a bulwark against sectarian violence. But none was willing to take that position publicly, and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki concluded that any Status of Forces Agreement, which would give legal protection to those forces, would have to be submitted to the Iraqi parliament for approval.

That made reaching agreement very difficult given the internal politics of Iraq, but representatives of the Defense and State departments, with scrutiny from the White House, tried to reach a deal. We had leverage. We could, for instance, have threatened to withdraw reconstruction aid to Iraq if al-Maliki would not support some sort of continued U.S. military presence. My fear, as I voiced to the President and others, was that if the country split apart or slid back into the violence that we’d seen in the years immediately following the U.S. invasion, it could become a new haven for terrorists to plot attacks against the U.S. Iraq’s stability was not only in Iraq’s interest but also in ours. I privately and publicly advocated for a residual force that could provide training and security for Iraq’s military.

To my frustration, the White House coordinated the negotiations but never really led them. Officials there seemed content to endorse an agreement if State and Defense could reach one, but without the President’s active advocacy, al-Maliki was allowed to slip away. The deal never materialized. To this day, I believe that a small U.S. troop presence in Iraq could have effectively advised the Iraqi military on how to deal with al-Qaeda’s resurgence and the sectarian violence that has engulfed the country.

I wonder how Barack likes it under the bus?

For fucks sake I was just talking to an obit and she somehow twisted the Ebola virus into a tirade that somehow my white maleness causes people to eat bushmeat and I am racist for screaming about the border huh? Complete whack job. All aboard the o train. Yet she sends her highly medicated kids to a 28 thousand dollar elementary school. Funny thing was we lived together for 5 years in Philly she married well and is putting on an academy award winning performance as the progressive semi-suburban mom. Her family made their money from illegal gambling. She is snob incarnate. Hideously cruel about poor white people and genuinely thinks urban youth are a sub species yet she works full time doing charity work which usually involve high priced lunches and copious amounts of Pinot Gris Her oldest son has been tanked on ADHD drugs since pre school She didn’t get the diagnosis she wanted on the east coast so she flew the kid to Stanford to get it. Kind of person who got a dog and when it didn’t behave it went to live on a farm up state She has zero self awareness Put her dog down but cries when she sees that evil pet abuse commercial. Yet somehow my chromosomes and skin pallor has caused people to eat dead bats found in the forest I should be more compassionate Bizarre that the entire argument was devoid of reason. It was just guilt me and she is a citizen of the world I am self centered. You betcha my job is to protect little one. Dumb ass is so inebriated on Kool aid she somehow worked the Koch brothers and Bush into the argument. I swear they get talking points and included is yell Bush and Koch brothers I have found it impossible to discuss anything once those names are evoked so I just openly laugh. Boy do bots loose their shit when they are laughed at. Feeling down need a pick me up call a bot and call Harry Ried an old lady and chant Obama wears mom jeans. You get called all kinds of woman hater. Sticks and stones. I of course do not dedicate my life to striving to have my brat be all she can be. Nope brat doesn’t step in the shower to find a big poster board reading I believe in you or just smile baby girl.

I can fix ^this^: “Fundraiser for Gov Quinn campaign is the first fundraiser Pres Obama has done this year for an individual candidate, in Illinois immediately followed by giving a speech on Evanston’s Northwesters University campus where it has been 60 years since a POTUS who is actively serving as POTUS has spoken.”

There. I know it is over the 140 characters and that is probably why Mr Knoller didn’t write it in its entirety.

      • leslie says:

I probably should’ve added that the streets in Evanston – from south to north have been closed making it impossible for mothers to pick up their children from school or for emergency vehicles and hospitals to serve the people.

      • DeniseVB says:

LOL, that too! I screwed up the tweet post, I meant to show my reply to him with the link to Udall’s fundraiser in Colorado in June.

  22. driguana says:

This is a pretty good sketch about how so many Liberians got to the US.

  23. Lulu says:

“Liberian authorities, meanwhile, say they will prosecute Duncan when he returns home for allegedly lying on his airport screening questionnaire about having had contact with an infected person.”
“On the form obtained by The Associated Press and confirmed by a government official, Duncan answered “no” to questions about whether he had cared for an Ebola patient or touched the body of someone who had died in an area affected by Ebola.”

If the Obama administration doesn’t close off air traffic to west Africa soon there is going to be a backlash. This guy’s family and friends are now under quarantine in Dallas and will be arrested if they leave their apartment. In another article these people haven’t figured up how to clean it all up or feed themselves. Liberia at least tries to screen people even if our own government doesn’t.

How many unaware people walking through there? How many shoes carrying it into apartment floors? How many children crawling or walking on floors? If Shep Smith says one more time no one is going to catch anything because no one is in “direct” contact with Ebola dude I am going to find him and punch him. It is called cross contamination. It happens everywhere if hygiene is not perfect and people are unaware. I just described how small children could be in “direct contact” with Ebola vomit in a couple of steps and that is how it is transmitted.

This is we’re the dims are screwed with the war on women meme. Sharon(my mom) is bat shit crazy when it comes to her kids, grand kids and in Shayla’s case great grand kid. Tramp got knocked up at 14 dropped out of school birthed 5 more got a GED then a two year nursing degree which she parlayed onto a six figure job with an insurance company nobody fucks with her kids. So much is abstract in politics but even a hint of danger to your child rouses the most primal instincts and there exists no hash tag that will placate a mother caring for her kid.

  30. driguana says:

    This is really interesting…
During the Liberian civil wars of the 80s and 90s, large amounts of arms were rumored to have been supplied to all of the fighting factions in Liberia from Gaddafi’s Libya. Gaddafi had said numerous times that he wanted to establish a window on the Atlantic so that he could attack the US. His plan was to take over uranium rich Niger, destitute Burkina Faso and then Cote D’Ivoire and Liberia. Looks like that may not be too far fetched at this point…even without Gaddafi.

Be careful what you want and get – being a woman is psychologically damaging according to him/her.
“A transsexual who began life as a man, then had a £10,000 operation to become a woman, has now demanded the British taxpayer stump up for yet another operation to become a man again.
Chelsea Attonley claims “it’s exhausting being a woman”, and after seven years living as a female, wants to become a man again.
The operation is likely to cost the National Health Service £14,000, as it is a far more complicated procedure for a variety of reasons. This is because she has already undergone major surgery, and as a result of the need to sculpt new genitals in the place of those already removed.”

  35. HELENK3 says:

That virus is in our area and I am quite nervous about it.

      • mothy67 says:

Me as well. Had a huge fight with the brat about the water fountain at school. Do not drink from it. I care not that I am over the top paranoid when i turn on the tv and hear lie after lie. This horseshit about not being contagious until there are symptoms what a crock of shit. Been a long time since I had a biology class but a virus is not taking a nap while it waits to destroy its host. If it is present it can be transferred. Sweat can relay it.
Very sad when twitchy becomes the most reliable news source.
i have been angry about politics since 08 but now these clown amateurs have crossed a line. The idiocy the incompetence is mind boggling. Put my kid in jeopardy because you are a clueless poll watching tool.
My chromosomes and skin pallor did not make anyone eat bushmeat. Sod off. i had an obot try and white male guilt me about ebola. WTF? According to her somehow I brought this plague upon the world and owe it to the world to treat all that ails. I have never hit a woman and got expelled from doggie school cause I couldn’t smack Satan on her nose but I think I would have relished one well placed punch on this moron.

        • mothy67 says:

I fear I may be becoming violent as i wanted to hit my obot friend and now Dick Morris is on Hannity and I think I might find it immensely pleasurable to kick him. His voice is nails on a chalkboard for me.

i ordered the new Kindle and while I was at it got a few more Common Core text books. Checked out and the shipping was almost 50 dollars with an estimated delivery date of Oct 8. I was like whoa 50 for shipping went back in and changed it to free shipping. Bill was almost 50 less and estimated delivery is still Oct 8. How annoying. I had Prime and shipping is free but it expired as I didn’t update my card so I usually paid no intention. 0 bucks for 4 books and a tablet. Crazy.
