Obama Gave Me Outrage Fatigue

Fake Obama

Victor Davis Hanson:

The lasting legacy of Obama will be that he has largely discredited the idea of big government, of which he was so passionate an advocate. Almost every major agency of the federal government, many of them with a hallowed tradition of bipartisan competence, have now been rendered either dysfunctional or politicized — or both — largely because of politically driven appointments of unqualified people, or ideological agendas that were incompatible with the agency’s mission.
The list of scandals is quite staggering. In aggregate, it makes Harding’s Teapot Dome mess seem minor in comparison.

There is now no Border Patrol, at least as Americans have understood the agency whose job was enforcing federal immigration statutes. It died as an enforcement bureau sometime in 2013, not long after the reelection of Barack Obama, in a way that it could not have before the election. Instead, in Orwellian fashion, at a time of plague and terrorism abroad, it is now the Border-Crossing Enabling Service, whose chief task is facilitating the illegal entry of thousands from Latin America and Mexico, largely to further the political agenda of the Obama administration, contrary to the law, the will of Congress, and the wishes of the majority of the American people. Mention the phrase “immigration law” or “Border Patrol,” and Americans sigh that neither any longer exists. Yet such a perversion of the mission of a federal agency for political purposes has become thematic of this administration. Perhaps the end of border enforcement is emblemized best by Obama’s own uncle and late aunt, who in open defiance broke federal immigration law and did so with impunity, resided illegally in the United States, broke various state laws, and ended up either on public assistance or mired in the U.S. judicial system.

The combination of Lois Lerner’s taking the Fifth Amendment and Barack Obama’s characterizing the IRS’s partisan targeting of conservatives as involving not a “smidgen” of corruption sum up the current status of the tax agency. So far no one has been held accountable for the corruption. Most Americans now assume that any high-profile political activity or contribution deemed inimical to the Obama administration will earn an audit or at least additional IRS scrutiny — a Machiavellian gambit that has discouraged contributions to conservative candidates. The agency that relies on voluntary tax compliance now holds taxpayers to standards of transparency, record-keeping, and honesty that it cannot itself meet. That too will be a lasting legacy of the Obama administration.

Eric Holder has politicized the Justice Department in a way not seen since the scandals of Nixon appointee John Mitchell. Holder’s prior ethical lapses – notably, as deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration, the disreputable eleventh-hour pardon for fugitive (and Democratic contributor) Marc Rich — were well known. But in less than six years, he has managed to trump them. Holder was held in contempt by Congress for withholding subpoenaed documents about the Fast and Furious scandal, and he editorialized on pending criminal cases, such as the Trayvon Martin and the Ferguson cases. He arbitrarily chose not to enforce existing laws, whether elements of Obamacare or immigration statutes. He was forced to pay back the government for using a Gulfstream to junket to the Belmont Stakes with family and friends. He sought to try terrorists in civilian courts, and he demonized the idea of Guantanamo, which earlier, when it was politically expedient, he had praised. He caricatured his critics and made race essential rather than incidental to his tenure (e.g., “my people,” “nation of cowards,” and the false charges of racism against critics of the administration) in a way that would have gotten anyone else fired. Had any other attorney general monitored reporters’ communications as Holder did those of AP reporters, and, even more so, James Rosen, he would also have been summarily dismissed. Even the media will not be able to prevent Holder’s legacy from being seen as one of the Justice Department’s no longer enforcing the law without prejudice, but instead choosing haphazard compliance in order to advance partisan ideas of social justice.

I started to become politically aware during the Nixon administration. I entered my teen years watching the Watergate hearings. I have followed politics ever since.

Among the things I have learned is that all politicians lie and all presidents have scandals and screw-ups. But no president in my memory has had so many scandals and screw-ups while lying about pretty much everything as Obama. That’s not even counting all his broken promises, which are too numerous to list.

Worst of all is his attitude. He doesn’t give a fuck anymore, assuming he ever did.

It has gotten to the point where I have difficulty mustering any outrage at the new and ongoing scandals, screw-ups and corruption. I quit paying attention to what he says years ago.

I just want it to be over. PLEASE GOD, MAKE IT STOP!!!

At this point I am looking forward to catching Ebola.

Obama the victim as officials rush into print before sell-by date

The book solidifies the portraits served up in earlier memoirs. Mr Obama’s “most conspicuous weakness”, according to Mr Panetta, is a “frustrating reticence to engage his opponents and rally support for his cause”. This echoes the sketch offered by Robert Gates, who was Mr Panetta’s predecessor at the Pentagon, and whose memoir, Duty, came out in January. Mr Panetta reinforces conventional wisdom by claiming America’s 44th president “lacks fire”. He adds: “Too often he [Obama] relies on the logic of a law professor rather than the passion of a leader.”

The snowball was set rolling in March 2013 by Vali Nasr, an adviser to the late Richard Holbrooke, who had served as Mr Obama’s special envoy on Afghanistan and Pakistan. His book, Dispensable Nation, depicted Mr Obama as shallow, politically-driven and uninterested in real diplomacy. “It is not going too far to say that American foreign policy is completely subservient to tactical domestic political considerations,” wrote Mr Nasr.
In other words, he’s what we thought from the beginning: shallow, self-centered, politically motivated. Now he’s just bored and wishes it was all over. Even Jimmy Carter is criticizing his foreign policy effectiveness:

Ooopsie… that oughtta do wonders for the “no worries about Ebola” narrative.

    • Constance says:

I’ve seen two mentions on my Facebook already that the dog of the Spanish nursing student who has Ebola is going to be put down. Since they have shown that dogs can carry the disease and not show symptoms I think this is necessary but my dog loving friends are outraged. So that is how you get a reservoir of Ebola started, let dogs spread it among themselves, no problem for them but deadly for humans.

      • They protested against removal of the dog in Spain! I was gobsmacked. I mean, no riots over human ebola in the third world, but damn, not our dogs in the first world! That’s just whack.

    • votermom says:

I can’t say I’m torn up about that. The guy was selfishly irresponsible. I just hope the people he put at risk don’t get it.

If the Ebola guy’s family sues, then they should be sent the bill for everything.

        • leslie says:

They should try going to the University of Chicago Hospital where Michelle Robinson Obama wrote the policy keeping out all those poor black uninsured patients out of the emergency room and out of *her* hospital. Mr Duncan wouldn’t have gotten into the ER if he’d been in Chicago. Oh, and Ms. Obama got herself a six figure bonus after that *community benefit* change in policy.

    from Alan West

The Commander in Chief will “drop by” the Pentagon today on his way to a series of 6-7 fundraising events across the country for the rest of this week. I have to bring out an interesting comparison. Obama’s massive air strikes have yielded five such actions in Kobani against ISIS over the last two days but Obama has done more and will do more fundraisers over this week — where is his emphasis? His BFF Turkish leader Recip Tayyip Erdogan sits back and watches what will be a slaughter of Syrian Kurds refusing any assistance to thwart ISIS — and BHO is at fundraisers. An Air Force family was targeted online by Islamists. Fundraisers. Is there a crisis of leadership in America? We would have to have leadership in order to have a crisis — there is an ABSENCE of leadership.

    • Somebody says:

I saw that statement yesterday in a link Denise put up about JJ heading to Dallas. This guy is so full of shit, it simply doesn’t matter what color your skin is if you don’t have insurance. This wasn’t about race, it was about economics and the bottom line of the hospital. Hospitals already lose money because they can’t turn away a patient that needs emergency care, they are obligated to stabilize the patient. In Duncan’s case he didn’t need to be stabilized the first time he went there he wasn’t that ill so they sent him home. If any one of us had walked into that hospital exhibiting the exact same symptoms and not having insurance we would have gotten the exact same treatment.

      • Constance says:

We would have gotten the same treatment if we had insurance. It is rather odd that they said he had a virus but gave him antibiotics?!

  12. mothy6767 says:

Still not buying this happy horse shit that it is not contagious until patient is symptomatic. Why the continual lie. What happens if this gets into a prison population. Hell on earth. No stopping it. A sheriff may have been exposed . Pretty sure his job involves putting people in confined spaces. Nope nothing can go wrong in that scenario. Yep be PC about a deadly virus. Where is sanity?

    • Constance says:

Well the thing about stopping all flights from the area of Africa that is infected….. what about ships? Are they going to let ships crews off when the ship came from Africa or even stopped there. Because Ebola is sexually transmitted and you know how sailors are. I think Europe is screwed alright. We might be safe from Ebola people on ships because it would take longer to get to the eastern USA. There are just a lot of ways this disease could flash out of control.

  13. fif says:

Yet another indicator of just how low the bar is for the press now. First, Chuck Todd has taken the helm at “Meet the Press,” and then it’s revealed that NBC actually considered Jon Stewart for the position. I know a lot of people turn to Jon Stewart for “real news” which is a whole other issue, but do I need to point out that he is a COMEDIAN?! Ben Affleck is considered presidential material for bloviating on Bill Maher’s show (in a big boy suit). Our standards have fallen so far, people don’t even know what qualifications mean anymore. Brangelina for President & VP! A two-fer! George Clooney, Secretary of State. Matt Damon, Chief of Staff.

  14. mothy6767 says:

I was misdiagnosed with Hep C a few years ago. I sort of knew it was wrong. Just didn’t, feel right. I was terrified of infecting others though. The docs made me feel like a walking plague. I used paper plates and cups. Double wrapped all trash. Kept my toothbrush in a strong box. Started cutting my own hair Finally went and paid for a test. I did not not have not had I ever I have A and B antibodies because I was vaccinated when a cook I worked with made a bunch of people sick I had to go to classes about transmission. I learned a bit about viruses Hep C has no symptoms until it destroys the body. Which brings me to another question about Ebola and death tolls. We get told 123 people died in one day from Ebola but how many died from other stuff because the body got its ass kicked by Ebola. My grandmother died from a cold that went to pneumonia after colon cancer. She beat the cancer but had nothing left. I hear the CDC guy saying Ebola is passive. Shut up I got tortured for years for Hep C that I did not even have. New York has you register as a carrier I had to go through all of that but Duncan is allowed to threaten a continent. Viruses suck and but for the grace of God there go I. No moral issue about being sick but exposing others willfully is deranged and beyond selfish. Most triage nurses are just people doing a job the universe’s worst virus was not a consideration at 18. This is going to be spun in so many ways. We may never hear the truth. My guess, was she put it all in a computer that made its own diagnosis. She did not admit because that is what medicine has become. Nurses were once the best advocates for patients now they are slaves to paper work. Most care comes from CNA s now and they have minimal training. We have an epidemic knocking at the front door and we are so concerned about PC bullshit that we are flinging open the doors.

    • Constance says:

Well the ER is a bureaucracy which sick people don’t understand. You tell the intake clerk your problem and then wait. You tell the initial nurse your problem while they take your blood pressure and temp, they walk you down the hall to your room. The nurse for that room comes in and you tell that nurse your problem. Sick people actually figure that after telling all their problems to 3 people they have covered it. But NO! You have to tell the Dr or what ever practitioner you get your problem again. It is ridiculous and inefficient. Patients don’t understand how to succeed in the ER and the system is not intuitively obvious. That’s why Thomas Duncan fell through the cracks.

Very offensive joke about to happen if you are the kind of person that goes ape shit about any word stop reading now.

Johnny was the worst student Sister Mary Catherine Gallagher ever had. age seven he had PTSD or ADD or OMG or he was an alien trapped in a transsexual body watching the view.
Anyhow he was not easy to teach but every Friday the nun with a long name gave them a word to learn over the weekend.
Monday came along and she asked who can use contagious in a sentence. John’s arm shot up but Sister Mary Catherine Gallagher ignored him and instead called on another kid. YEARS passed in her 45 minute language class and the poor nun had no choice but to let John speak.. She would have been racist or islamaphobic or homophobic or a gluten eater or Fox watching.
The word was contagious and pig tail Bethany was on script. My mom says to wash my hands because loads of stuff is contagious.
Johnny got his chance. He said I was driving with my dad and we saw old Misses Kravitz painting her fence. He looked at me and said it will take that c u n stages to paint that.

I tried to hand mine in and she said no way am I gonna read your crazy. BEST teacher ever. Her name is Dianne Simmons. Anyone orders her book I will donate twice the amount to St. Judes.

Funniest thing ever I had to have a burrito so bean and cheese12 for 3 dollars. Some guy was peeling in a can. I am not easily shocked so I said you do know they have a bathroom. He said it was for customers only and he had no money. Yep they would rather have him peeling in a can through frozen aisle than tinkle in the bathroom. Doubt he has seen a sober day in decades. I chatted with him for a spell. He was very nice but wet brained. He offered me sex. Drunk guy peeling in a can is a major turn on I hear things get major freaky in the dairy aisle. The poor souls working were very kind to him. They gave him coffee and offered food. They were worried I was upset. The guy was just pickled. Gentle as a lamb. Me thinks something bad took place in his life because as a rule I do not find people offering themselves up for sex at the grocery store. Not sure where you shop but I usually just get 10 cents off a gallon of gas. In obola world are bjs now standard fare?

I am so sick of the well you are a racist shirt or some noise from Debbie Whats her name. I live for my baby girl and I have had more black clock than a urinal at the Apollo. Not really I just thought it was funny. I am however not an absent tool that can be played by guilt. I have declared war on Common Core.
It is awful and no kid will ever get an a it is designed to make everyone equal. EAT my shorts I do not spend hours on homework so my kid is on even footing with someone that does not care. . Punish good kids that strive so a bunch of people who send their own kids to elite private schools can feel warm an tingly. I purchased every Common Core book you can think of. IT IS INSANE. Sick sick sick sick. IT IS ABOUT MAKING BRIGHT KID FEEL STUPID. I have read it all. My property tax is very high. I was willing to spend on a good school. Now it is ass backwards kids are being punished because the parents care about a child’s future. Neglect your own kid expect everyone else to pick up the pieces, Fuck off. I owe no one anything. I BUST MY ASS So shaky can take all the stuff that makes her world a little better. Not ever going to sacrifice my baby for what some dumb Asus calls the common good.. I bought my mom that heritage thing. We went back hundreds of years. No one ever owned a slave.

    • mothy6767 says:

I need to say my anger is really about white trash. Everyone is now a single mother. WHOLE WORD MUST STOP FOR YOU. library is free and they offer programs . One kid knocked on the door and asked if she could use the bathroom. SEVEN years old . She then said she was hungry. Shayla was at Disney World. Some how that is unfair. Poor kid failed second grade twice. It Takes a Village shut is stupid what it takes is one person to care. Shay is my bff and she did a reading at CMU. Nothing extraordinary took place just attention and a tiny bit of discipline. Kids care about being corrected they want it. Shaky never listens to me but she also never does anything wrong. My sister her grandmother I have seen too many bruises and heard so many lies and excuses. Never gonna let my baby girl feel anyone can hurt her. I could not protect my sister but prezzy obola and Debbie what’s her name are barking up the wrong tree if they think I will surrender my child’s future to this common core shit. HELL may know no fury like a woman scorned. What do you believe great gay uncles do? My icky will not be sacrificed for mindless disorders. No chance.
