While We’re Waiting For The Riots To Start . . .

Jonah Goldberg via AofSHQ:

In a lot of ways, this spectacle represents not just everything’s that’s wrong with the Obama administration, it’s everything wrong with liberalism and a lot that’s wrong with America itself.
You’ve got this guy who is pretending to be an objective independent analyst, who’s got huge amounts of skin in the game in terms of money he can make off of consulting fees, but also of the prestige being involved and the speeches he could do which haven’t been tallied into these numbers — anyway, it’s millions of dollars — being touted around through a transmission belt of liberal journalists, who all are all pretending to be objective analysts too, quoting each other, reaffirming each other, all with the help of the White House which went along with this soup to nuts — a process which this guy says was all about lies and misleading the American people. And then when caught about it, the same administration tries to dismiss him as if he was just some sort of random White House intruder. The whole thing stinks.

It’s not just that’s he’s getting rich, it’s the hypocrisy that every time Republicans complain about ObamaCare, they say “Oh, it’s just because those evil, profit-hungry Koch brothers are trying to get rich,” which was always a lie. It’s also that this law itself makes American life more complex and then there’s this leaching new class of people who profit from the complexity that they are imposing upon the society.

There is a bunch more stuff and you should go read it.

Go ahead, I’ll wait.

The article gives you a peek (and links to more peeks) into how public opinion is manipulated. One of the biggest threats to freedom and democracy in this country is the incestuous relationship between the media and the Powers That Be.

How can a citizen make informed choices when the government and the media conspire to manipulate the flow of information available? And now government is trying to “regulate” the internet.

Gruber is what a progressive looks like. In the classical sense, like back when Republicans were progressive about 100 years ago. The progressive believes that the status quo is wrong, often because it is the status quo. They value change over experience, They have contempt for those who don’t accept change for change’s sake, or God forbid, think that there is another path.

A lot of progs are dumb ideologues who parrot talking points. Gruber creates the talking points. He thinks social engineering can create an idea society. In that quest, he sees contrary opinions as a roadblock, not as an opportunity for debate. That’s the danger with progressives. They are so invested in their ideas, they see those who oppose them as heretics and take the moral authority to destroy them.

Remember when Obama said he would have health care debates on C-Span? He got people in a room one time after the bill was already written. The most famous part of that meeting was him telling John McCain “you lost.” Progressives are fanatics and they interpret their certitude as an excuse to demoralize the enemy. Ethan “Pajama Boy” Krupp described the strategy. You wait for someone to make a mistake, flood them with talking points and then use personal attacks to demoralize them.

What Obamacare proved: Socialist wealth redistribution doesn’t mean more money for most; it means a select few control all the money.

And that a great deal of that “more money” stays at the top for the expanded amount of gubmint employees required to “manage” it all.

I don’t understand, Helen. Is being a protester/child molester supposed to be negative?

    • Somebody says:

Helen he’s a muslim, the girl was 13 that’s well beyond the marrying age of 8 in his culture. As a muslim he should be free to follow his religion/culture and to hell with our petty laws, have you no cultural understanding??? Branding him a child molestor when the girl was 13……..sarc

Why is it the MSM isn’t the least bit curious about these professional protest organizers? Why is it so many of these agitators seem to have muslim ties…..hmmm.

I CAME very close to murder once. I was in the bathroom at the zoo changing a diaper on a two year old girl. This guy was watching and smiling. I lost it. Grabbed him by the hair and was slamming his face into the wall. I was pulled off by strangers in the bathroom. I would have could have killed him. I would not blink if I had. He was hanging out in the bathroom of a zoo. Cannot recall ever hitting another person in my life but I slammed his head over and over again. Yeah he was taken out on a stretcher and I faced assault charges. Bippity bobity boo I’d do it again.even when it looked like it could be manslaughter I did not care. No record of it exists. I CAME very close to killing him and a search shows no record. I found it troubling the billion dollar zoo did not care about me they did not want bad press that a freak was hanging out in bathrooms.

A little crisp humor for Klown …

VERNAL — A woman who used burning bacon to help set fire to the inside of her ex-boyfriend’s Uintah County home has pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

Cameo Adawn Crispi, 32, was originally charged with of arson, burglary, assault by a prisoner, interfering with an arresting officer, electronic communication harassment and intoxication.

On Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to reckless burning and attempted assault by a prisoner, both class A misdemeanors. She also pleaded guilty to intoxication, a class C misdemeanor. The remaining charges were dismissed in exchange for her plea.

In court records filed as part of the plea agreement, Crispi admitted that she put a pound of bacon on a cookie sheet on March 14, set the cookie sheet on top of the gas stove inside her ex-boyfriend’s house and turned the burner to “high.”

“The bacon was burned and smoking badly” when Naples police responded to the house at the request of Crispi’s ex-boyfriend, according to court records. The man, who was not home at the time, called police after receiving 15 calls and text messages from her in less than an hour, officers said.

I booked a party one time for one of the big banks. 180 dollars a head for breakfast. I got paid 18% to check boxes. My job was to work with banquet managers at hotels. Usually I dealt with five to ten suits having power breakfast. Once in a blue moon I had to deal with dietary restrictions. I would go and buy food myself. Well one day a guy lost his shit because the hotel had a buffet and he could smell the bacon. We had to move the meeting room to a suite on an u

Upper floor and I got fired.okay maybe I should not have called the bacon hater an ass. You live you learn.Sucked for me because I made serious bank checking boxes and making reservations. I even had a slush fund that allowed me to traverse Mahattan and leave obscene tips. I got tailor fitted suits and a bank card with no questions asked. I found it really boring. I dealt with hotels and restaurants not clients. One day this woman decided she wanted to rent out the Staten Island Ferry for four hours. I did not have to deal with her She ordered the woman to do it. You cannot rent the ferry. Impossible rent a boat.

Let’s form “We care about Gruber lies” clubs. We care about Obama Care taxes; we care about Obama Care non insurance costing thousands of dollars a year. We care about giving Big Brother all our personal information on nonsecure websites like healthcare.gov.
We care about the rationing of the IPAB and all the regulations interfering with the doctor patient relationship. Obama Care gave a big cash injections to the insurance companies. It does little to aid consumers.

    http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/11/house-hires-turley-as-lead-counsel-in-suit-against-obama/
    Interesting. Yesterday he said:

“As many ….. know, I support national health care and voted for President Obama in his first presidential campaign. However, as I have often stressed before Congress, in the Madisonian system it is as important how you do something as what you do. And, the Executive is barred from usurping the Legislative Branch’s Article I powers, no matter how politically attractive or expedient it is to do so. Unilateral, unchecked Executive action is precisely the danger that the Framers sought to avoid in our constitutional system.”

Totally agree. GOP or Dem, recent presidents have pushed and pushed and pushed the Executive Action button way too often. But the other side of that coin is: “Congress has to get back to work”. And I don’t see John Boehner as the go-to guy to get that done.
