I Love That New Car Smell

old hillary

Don’t say I never agree with anything Obama says:

OBAMA: You know, I think– I think the American people, you know, they’re gonna want– you know, that new car smell. (LAUGHTER) You know, their own– they– they wanna drive somethin’ off the lot that– that doesn’t have as– as much mileage as me.

Supporters of Hillary can say a lot of things about her, and some of them might even be true, but they can’t truthfully say she would be a fresh new face in the Oval Office. She represents a combination of “stay the course” and nostalgia for the Nineties. In order to win she has to hold on to the Obama voters and win back the voters who just elected a GOP Congress. She’s gonna have to craft a message that basically says “I’m like Obama but competent and like Bill but with a vagina.”

She’ll have to run on fixing Obamacare. She can’t run against it. She’s gonna have a hard time convincing people she’s a foreign policy pro after her tenure as Secretary of State during the the first half of the worst foreign policy era in our history. That kinda undercuts her competence argument too. Not to mention that she is no spring chicken and the job of POTUS is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. People her age are retiring for a reason.

I think Hillary will probably run and she will probably win the Democratic nomination. I also think she will lose in the November election. It would probably be better for everyone if she just decided to retire and spend her golden years playing with her new grandbaby.

There was a time when I was a die-hard Hillary supporter. That support died hard over the last six years. It’s time for someone new in the top spot. Unfortunately for the Democrats, they are the party of old white people same old, same old.

I gotta take my mom shopping. I hope Ferguson doesn’t explode before I get back.

      • DeniseVB says:

I read this is costing the local communities 5 million dollars. I wish they’d just bill Al Sharpton since that’s about what he owes in back taxes 😛

        • Mary says:

I’m reading these “demonstrations” are gonna happen all over the country—Los Angeles, NY City, New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, etc. Already planned and organized.

          • DeniseVB says:

I’ve seen that list. Friends from those areas are saying it’s nothing, just one or two people signing up on the United for Peace and Justice Zip Code thingy thing. Aggretator?

          • Mary says:

Denise—CNN showing scenes from NYcity, Oakland, St Louis of crowds huge enough to walk center of Interstate hwys and shut em down.
            Amazing, isn’t it?

  2. DeniseVB says:

I heard a political strategist say Obama’s comment was the most passive aggressive endorsement he’s ever heard 😀

  3. HELENK3 says:

I was a Hillary supporter also. made the calls, donated. Now I have the only bumper sticker I have ever put on a car
    it reads

    REMEMBER BENGHAZI.

She sold out her supporters by agreeing to no floor vote, then joining the most corrupt anti-American administration in my lifetime.
No. I will not vote for Hillary.

    • lyn says:

^This^ I’ve been wavering, but I won’t vote for her. She never fought to get my primary vote counted, and she stinks of Obama.

      • DeniseVB says:

I wish she cleared the air more after leaving Obama’s administration…but she seems to be making buckets of money off her book and speeches while still supporting him. She knows to get the nomination she must support him and be more like Eliz Warren.

Meanwhile, Jim Webb blasted Congress for not passing Keystone and I’m sure he muttered stupid politics over and over. Of course the media missed that, I read it on his FB page. I’ll follow so you don’t have to. 😉

        • lyn says:

Hillary is saying nothing that would bring me back to vote for her. I’ll check out Jim Webb on FB.

        • swanspirit says:

I kniw it is such a cliche , but isn’t amazing how these old ones still have meaning but I am adding my own little twist 🙂 . You lie down with dogs ( and people who eat them ) and you get up with fleas .

    • Constance says:

I don’t think Dems will nominate Hillary. They don’t feel any loyalty to her at all because loyalty is not an emotion they experience. The Dem Powers That Be are just trying to lead the feminist wing of the party on but they know the only Dem feminists left will fall for the abortion/birth control dog whistle and fall in line. I don’t think they will nominate a woman.

  4. piper says:

No matter how much the Clintons’ helped obama, I always knew that obama was going to throw her under the bus. Does he want a new car smell like Eliz. the fake Indian Princess or the foot in mouth Biden. He can’t stand the Clintons and always felt upstaged by them. He doesn’t want anyone undoing his legacy and is hoping he will be missed after his term is up.
Once upon a time I was a Hillary supporter but the last 6 years have opened up my eyes and no way in hell will I ever support her in any way.

  6. DandyTIger says:

At this point, what difference does it make? 🙂 I’m not going to vote for a Dem president in ’16 no matter who it is. I don’t consider the Democrats a legitimate political party after ’07/’08, Harry Reid, and all the shit they’ve done over the last 6 years.

  7. The Klown says:

Okay, I’m back! They can announce the decision now.

    • cynic says:

Did you buy something good? Popcorn perhaps?

      • The Klown says:

I got a turkey and a spiral ham. Now I gotta get some beer.

        • DeniseVB says:

Got my turkey today too. “Special Greg” named him, Tom, now I’m not sure I can eat him or hold a funeral (h/t PeTA).

          • elliesmom says:

I grew up on a farm. My dad said, “Don’t name anything we’re going to eat unless you’re willing to eat your pets.”

          • DeniseVB says:

LOL elliesmom, I do remember the last puppy we snuck in, I told my kid to name it, name it, then Daddy won’t be mad and make us take her back ! “Holly” spent the next 16 years with us 🙂

          • elliesmom says:

We could name the chickens we kept for eggs and the milking cows. The “fryers” were “the chicken”, and the pig was “the pig”. By the time my youngest brother was 10 or so, we had sold the farm. He wanted to name the new kitten “The Cat”. He had no idea why the rest of us laughed so hard.

          • cynic says:

That first summer on our little farm, we got chicks and turkeys. There was a chick named Drumstick and one named McNugget (hubby’s idea). They became pets, and actually lived more years than I ever thought that a chicken would live.

The turkeys became too large to fit in our oven, and gave up trying to raise any more of them.

Now, we only raise chickens for the eggs.

          • DandyTIger says:

Obama names his dogs and still eats them. Yeah, that never gets old.

  8. HELENK3 says:

Editor’s note: If the grand jury decides not to indict Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch’s office will release grand jury documents without seeking a judge’s approval, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. We are expecting an announcement on the grand jury’s decision this evening. – Stephanie

Those pesky protester kids are going to have a protest whatever the decision, because they’re there already, and thanks to the media, camera ready.

It’s funny about “I Want a New Drug.” People like it better when it was recycled and the melody was used in the Ghostbusters theme.

The media is insane–looking for anything else on tv…….it’s not like anything else is happening in the world–not

    • Constance says:

I know! I had a crappy day at work (although I am grateful to still have 10 hours of paid work a week) and I like to watch news but NOT Ferguson updates. I think I’m going to watch a few Outlander episodes.

  12. HELENK3 says:

National Guard spotted entering the St. Louis County Justice Center, where the Ferguson grand jury announcement will be made – @Yamiche, @FOX2now
    End of alert

  13. The Klown says:

I’m watching the announcement on MSNBC. Way more fun than Fox.

  14. HELENK3 says:

    2 minute warning for verdict

  15. Somebody says:

The Ferguson dude is rambling on, is this his 15 minutes or what…….shut up already, get to the point sheesh.

    • HELENK3 says:

      no indictment against Darren Wilson

      • HELENK3 says:

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch: Grand jury decides Ferguson, Mo., officer Darren Wilson will not be charged in shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown – live video

  16. Somebody says:

Finally he announces decision, but somehow the Charlotte, NC news station tweeted there was no indictment 30 minutes ago or more.

  17. Mt.Laurel says:

O will be unhappy. Will he try and do another run around using the Holder Gangsters and drones.

  18. Somebody says:

Hopefully you won’t have a 30 minute interruption during DWTS Klown

  19. DandyTIger says:

Pretty sad situation. Seemed open and shut that there was no crime. And I think by the grand jury result you can tell the prosecutor didn’t think there was either, because I think prosecutors can generally get an indictment for milk going bad as a crime if they want to. It’s amazing to watch the usual progs on twitter crying and not understanding how this can be.

  20. swanspirit says:

Obama is going to speak . I wonder how long it will take for him to say the Grand Jury acted stupidly .
