Vermont realized that it would cost four times as much to insure everyone as it does to insure something like 85% who already have health insurance and pay for it themselves. Instead of figuring out why that uninsured 15% costs 3 times what everyone else costs they dropped it. My percentiles are approximations and not meant to be taken literally. Also Gruber was involved with the modeling so any work done was bogus and fake.

Maybe the Ghost of Christmas Future came to visit him a little early. Many of those progressive ideas don’t have a very good outcome.

“Once giants walked this earth, and some of them were Democrats. In sharp contrast to the thin gruel that passes for leadership today, the old party of the people, with all its flaws, shaped much of the modern world, and usually for the better. Think of Franklin Roosevelt or Harry Truman, John Kennedy, or California’s Pat Brown, politicians who believed in American greatness, economic growth, and upward mobility.” http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/12/21/time-to-bring-back-the-truman-democrats.html

The problem being of course that there are no Truman Democrats left. The Truman Democrat voters started peeling off with Reagan and the last vestiges were kicked out by Obola and his fiends. What is left is “Kill the cops” de Blasio, “Rape culture” Gillibrand and McCaskill, and “Yes I am pickled” Pelosi. Not only have their identity politics failed but they can be demonstrably argued to be loons. Race baiting, gender baiting, attacks on due process and our legal system has blown up in their stupid faces. Can the Democrats switch to lunch bucket issues? Not as long as Obola is president. And the Republicans won’t either as long as they are slapping down their own members who try to bring these issues up to the horror of the Chamber of Commerce and Wall St.

It has become cultural rather than racial. There is a thug, lawless streak that runs though all races, social classes (some of the worst criminals ever are wealthy and white), and a mentality of being above the law. When citizens see various groups have a different standard applied general law and order starts breaking down. Holder has overseen this degradation of our legal system. “Friends” are never prosecuted and if they somehow find themselves crossed up in the legal system Holder attacks the state and local legal system. Our regulatory system also is a very large part of our legal system and it is killing our economy at the direction of the White House. No economy thrives in a corrupt legal system.

Right – wish it wasn’t true! Until reality and backlash hits them hard there will be no real change.

Not because of principle, but because they think that’s where the votes are! As if violent criminals and their families are dedicated voters!

Not suppose to call for drug deals in the house bec. of increase security for the Mayor.

      • DeniseVB says:

Where was his son’s security on his walkies that night? I betcha’ DeBlasio’s kids don’t take 10pm walkies….alone. I won’t even walk in my neighborhood after dark and it’s one of the safest neighborhoods in Virginia 😀

  4. DeniseVB says:

Bronco has helped create this toxic environment, buck stops with him. Nobody’s buying his fake condolences from Hawaii either. Sharpton calls for peaceful protests “now” ? He never did before the shootings and Obama encouraged him and his followers to “stay the course” invoking his imaginary son again. DeBlasio let the protestors shut down roads and bridges by calling off the police … “let them do whatever they want, stand down”. Holders been bullying local prosecuters, a place where no AG should go. AND, the media enables all of them. You betcha’ I blame everyone of them. Bad leaders all. /rant

    • votermom says:

I think I just heard on Fox that Mayor DeCommio has not called the cops’ families to offer condolences. What a POS.

    • Lulu says:

The shit has hit the fan. Their run of luck has run out. From now on everything they do will be crap. Good will, the benefit of the doubt, media ass covering doesn’t work anymore. And telling your kids from the age of two that a policeman is going to get them instead of telling teenagers follow the traffic laws and don’t drive around with weed in the car is a stupid thing to do. Question authority don’t spit on it.

      • The Klown says:

Bashing cops is bad politics. Most people like cops, and when they are scared they REALLY LIKE cops. Bashing cops and scaring people at the same time is a recipe for losing elections.

        • Lulu says:

This why I do not think that any of the current crop of Vile Progs ever speaks to anyone outside of their bubble. When I say speak I think I mean listen as they do not think that anyone is worth listening to except their peers who are usually idiots. I think of a room full of Gruber’s and Jon Stewart’s popping off at each other and congratulating each other for being smart and bitchy and when things go tits up they ask how did it go wrong and not having a clue.

  5. The Klown says:

If Al Sharpton is getting death threats he should report them to the police.

I’m sure they’ll get a kick out of it.

  6. DeniseVB says:

The New York Yankees have had a special fund to take care of the educations for children of the fallen NYPD for years. This isn’t a new thing, but made for some happy headlines in the tragic news. Twitchy just picked up on the aholes wondering…..what about Eric Garner’s kids !?

    • piper says:

Protests over the fatal police shooting of Dontre Hamilton produced mass arrests in Milwaukee for the first time Friday as demonstrators temporarily closed I-43 in both directions during the evening rush hour.
The Milwaukee County sheriff’s office said late Friday that 73 adults and one juvenile were arrested. After the scene cleared at I-43, about 100 people picketed outside the Milwaukee Police Administration Building.

      • piper says:

The women in my knitting class were not amused. Many drivers were caught in the shut down and could not exit as the protestors also blocked the ramps. Cars and bodies lined the freeway making the commute home a hellish experience adding at least 90 minutes to commute. I-43 is part of I-94 which goes to Chicago and beyond.

Can someone explain to me how Obama jumps to 47% approval? Either these polls are completely skewed and/or people are mindless lemmings, following the manipulative headlines wherever they lead:

    • piper says:

Christmas jump as people like to be charitable and positive. The upward tick will fade after the holiday good cheers and people return to reality / work.

    • Somebody says:

There is no way he’s at 47% approval, I don’t believe it. Twice this month I’ve made public jokes about him and large numbers of people have piled on. I was at Disney earlier during the month outside the hall of presidents waiting for the evening electric light parade. It was unusually cold for Orlando that evening with a projected low of 37 degrees. Once the sun set the temp started dropping quickly. It had been warm during the day, but my family had packed sweatshirts knowing it would get cooler at night. Our sweatshirts weren’t enough, so hubby headed to the car to fetch out jackets and I went shopping for scarves, gloves and eventually a fleece blanket……I know we’re wimps, but we’re Floridians we have thin blood or something, it was damn cold.

I told you all that to tell you this. So my daughter and I are standing outside the hall of presidents freezing our butts off despite the scarves, gloves and blanket I had managed to buy. They announced there was still one hour until the parade. I said rather loudly that I didn’t think I could make it that long and that I thought I’d go inside the hall of presidents and sit through Barack Obama’s speech so I could warm up. My daughter was several feet away at the rope line so she could have a front row view, so I said this rather loudly to her.

Spontaneously people started yelling at me “No, don’t do it, we’ll save you, we’ll keep you warm”. Someone else said “Friends don’t let friends listen to Obama”. When the person said that lots of people clapped and cheered. Strangers appeared and offered me jackets, blankets, all sorts of stuff to “save” me from sitting through an Obama speech. Along with that there was a lot of laughter, but nobody seemed offended or took the opportunity to defend Obama and there were people of all races in the immediate area. Hundreds of people, crowds of peoples all around waiting for the parade.

If that survey is correct then half the people should have been offended, surely at least one would have spoken up??? Lots of people piled on so it wasn’t like it was a shy crowd.

I had a similar experience in a store earlier this week when I cracked a joke because I was mistaken as an employee and asked to price check something. There was a much smaller group of people in the store obviously, but the reaction was similar. In fact a couple of people admitted to having voted for him in 2008 and loudly and openly apologized in the middle of Kohl’s to their fellow citizens. One woman admitted she voted for him twice and apologized profusely for it to total strangers…….47%, I think not!

      • Somebody says:

Just in case anyone is wondering, I am not claiming that my examples are in any way scientific. I know in fact they’re not, but they are anecdotal examples of why I believe the polls are skewed.

      • DeniseVB says:

LOL, thanks for sharing that. I, too, don’t know anyone who supports Obama anymore, even those who voted for him. I’ve noticed changes in my liberal FB friends not being as hopey, changey anymore. That’s not scientific either. 😉

        • Somebody says:

Like everyone here I lost friends in 2008 or shortly after. Again this is not scientific, but I’ve had many of those lost friends try to reconnect with me lately and the first thing out of their mouths is sorry……or what was I thinking, etc.

After some of the nastiness I have no desire to reconnect with most of them, but it’s fun to see some humility.

          • DeniseVB says:

Back in the early 2000’s to ’08, my only friends were conservative when I was a flaming liberal, and they still loved me. In ’08 when I was abandoned by the Obot libs simply because “you’re either with us or the hell with you”, I still had those conservative friends. What I have learned, real friends don’t hurt you, they’re happier and more tolerant than the hatey-hate crowd and I’m happier for that. Oh yeah, country before party was an eye opener too. Probably why Obama and his Dems are such a disappointment to me, they’re hurting everyone, including themselves.

    • mothy6767 says:

I have noticed young white mothers seem to cut him a lot of slack. I might be wrong but I think it stems from the need to protect. Waiting for the kid after school I hear them make excuses all the time. They also don’t put fathers name on birth certificate so then can get EIC and think the world owes them something because they had a kid. Comcast internet is 9.99 a month if your kid gets free or reduced lunch. Those of us paying full price are subsidising it. I think kids need access but I find it wrong that there is no choice. Same thing with cell phones if you look at your bill there is a charge that pays for all the free phones. School raised the price of milk by 200% so the kids that Brown bag it are still paying for other kids to eat. I resent that it is all sneaky hidden buried whatever it is still a tax. School serves breakfast lunch and after school snack. When did everyone become so dependent? My parents had nothing we had no phone no tv but we always had lunch money. Who said it is supposed to be easy? To be honest we did have a tv it just didn’t work. Sat in the corner and we had to make up shows today if you do not have a flat screen you are abused.

Thing I find interesting is that progs always think they are smarter than everybody else. Until a bird shat them on a fence and the sun hatched them all the world was in darkness. Critical thinking is an anathema because they know everything a priori. All Sharpton is a terrible speaker and his thoughts are always jumbled I can’t even follow his train of thought. Yet our betters herald him as some sort of Oracle. What the hell do they teach at Harvard when obola and Al qualify as great thinkers. I refuse to listen to bambi. Every speech is a lecture. I find him insulting.

  11. piper says:

    Stole this
Andrew Klavan writes about very eloquently IMO.

    Narrative Kills
The hearts of honest men and women are filled with anger today at the murder of two New York City police officers. The killer’s dead; his justice will be perfect. But we’re angry at the people who spread the lies that set the killer’s heart on fire.

Al Sharpton, who can add yet another death-by-rhetoric to his resume; Mayor de Blasio, who abandoned the peace keepers of his own city; Barack Obama and Eric Holder and the editors of the New York Times and the Daily News, who all helped spread the narrative that the police target or oppress people of color.

That narrative is false; it’s a lie; it killed those officers. Our anger against the people who spread that murderous lie is justified; righteous.

The policing programs and policies that these people seek to undermine save black lives. The policies these people seek to put in place cost black lives. Those are facts, not narrative.

Do any of them spend even a cartridge of ink speaking out against the teacher’s unions that enslave black children to ignorance for their own gain?

Do any of them waste a word speaking out against the sexual practices that lead to rampant illegitimacy in poor black neighborhoods and enslave their generations to poverty?

Do any of them ever stand up for the huge majority of decent, law-abiding African Americans whom the police protect lest they be enslaved by the thugs and criminals in their midst?

Dependency. Helplessness. Victimhood. Division. That’s all these people sell. Every damn day. What did they think would happen?

Sorry about length – don’t send the kitties after me – I own a furrocious Bichon.

      • Somebody says:

A Bichon? We had one, we lost him this past March and I am sure missing him a lot this week. We have several custom ornaments we’ve gotten through the years, they all have our little bichon man on them. Decorating the tree was a little sad……sob.

Last night we went to Petco to pick up a few things for our other dog, there were bichons everywhere. Seriously there were 5 bichons……sob.

He could be a real butthead, in fact that was his nickname, but damn I miss him! That dog had so much personality! My mini long haired dachshund is an absolute baby, she’s so sweet, but she just doesn’t have a 1/10th of the personality our bichon had.

I don’t have to worry about him getting into my Christmas cookies……sob. He won’t be under my feet in the kitchen while I’m cooking Christmas dinner……sob. He was always so excited about getting toys and homemade treats……sob. My dachshund can take or leave any of that stuff.

Can you give your bichon a hug from me???

Anyone know anything about machines that make smoothies. Turn went vegan and it is hard to get her protein. All the vegan stuff is laden with sodium. I want one of those like the magic bullet that leaves the pulp and will make a single serving. Read hundreds of reviews on Amazon I don’t know what to believe. The same ones that get 5 stars also get one. Price range is from 19 to 400. I plan on using it everyday so I am inclined to avoid super cheap as it is a waste if it breaks in a week. The Ninja looks good but some of the reviews are awful.

I had to go to the hospital I had no insurance. I was able to pay but I do not have 40 thousand sitting around. I have assets but they are tied up. I had gone to a charity hospital that had been bought by UPMC. I wasn’t thinking about the money. I had taken myself by bus to the ER. I think you went to CMU. Mercy next to Duquesne was the only place I could get to by bus. I ran up a huge bill. I had endoscopic colonoscopies biopsies. Because I had open heart thirty years ago they require a heart monitor 24/7 not only are you tethered to a machine but you get plastered with all these white screwball over your body. I knew I had to pay but I wanted a payment plan. In order to get a payment plan you first have to exhaust all other means which meant I had to go to the welfare office . I have two apartments in the Lower East Side and a building on 45th that has bathrooms in the hallway. I make less than a hundred a month. Place on 45th I bought in 1987 for. Nothing Welfare hotel 110 per week anyhow I own property in New York I had a health bill in order to get a payment plan I had to apply for Medicaid. I was rejected I knew I would be but everyone at the welfare office was fat. How is that possible. Real fat like so fat the legs rub together how do you say I am hungry give me free food when you are so large you exceed the weight limit for a bridge.

Gift of the Magi. Weeks my dad has been arguing with me about seeing brat get a belt and do auditions. I like laying in bed and arguing with Netfix. Me dad is 70 went back to work so he could give something to this little girl. He is so broke. He picks up railroad workers and takes them to hotels. He makes a whopping 200 per week. Saturday acting class we had two hours to kill between fake auditions and yellow belt. My father was vehement about paying for Philly Cheese Steaks at Subway and then buying lunch for the woman that works the door. He thinks yinz is the plural of you. Thinks a person can be drugged across the street. Shower is pronounced like flour. Europeanors are some how a race. He is still the best. Reminds me the father in the Corrections.

Wait am I racist for saying my peeps have a distinctive sense of humor? Poor trash Irish never take anything serious

I got over it no one should go through what I did but I covered in urine still bought my mom her smokes. My baby girl was literally thrown away. Tough life but what good becomes of pity. Lena Dunham has made me remember stuff I wish I could forget. She is not positive she is eternal victim and she is like a vampire sucking blood where ever she can get she feeds on sympathy. I cherish my brat I want her to be strong. My best friend in the world. Even know(hat tip to Barry Manelow) she still wraps her fingers around my index. leads me through her school.
