The Clinton Intelligence Agency

You can’t make this shit up:

Private Emails Reveal Ex-Clinton Aide’s Secret Spy Network

Starting weeks before Islamic militants attacked the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, longtime Clinton family confidante Sidney Blumenthal supplied intelligence to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gathered by a secret network that included a former CIA clandestine service officer, according to hacked emails from Blumenthal’s account.

The emails, which were posted on the internet in 2013, also show that Blumenthal and another close Clinton associate discussed contracting with a retired Army special operations commander to put operatives on the ground near the Libya-Tunisia border while Libya’s civil war raged in 2011.

Blumenthal’s emails to Clinton, which were directed to her private email account, include at least a dozen detailed reports on events on the deteriorating political and security climate in Libya as well as events in other nations. They came to light after a hacker broke into Blumenthal’s account and have taken on new significance in light of the disclosure that she conducted State Department and personal business exclusively over an email server that she controlled and kept secret from State Department officials and which only recently was discovered by congressional investigators.

The contents of the memos, which have recently become the subject of speculation in the right-wing media, raise new questions about how Clinton used her private email account and whether she tapped into an undisclosed back channel for information on Libya’s crisis and other foreign policy matters.

Blumenthal, a New Yorker staff writer in the 1990s, became a top aide to President Bill Clinton and worked closely with Hillary Clinton during the fallout from the Whitewater investigation into the Clinton family. She tried to hire him when she joined President Obama’s cabinet in 2009, but White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel reportedly nixed the idea on the grounds Blumenthal was a divisive figure whose attacks on Obama during the Democratic primary had poisoned his relationship with the new administration.

It’s unclear who tasked Blumenthal, known for his fierce loyalty to the Clintons, with preparing detailed intelligence briefs. It’s also not known who was paying him, or where the operation got its money. The memos were marked “confidential” and relied in many cases on “sensitive” sources in the Libyan opposition and Western intelligence and security services. Other reports focused on Egypt, Germany, and Turkey.

Indeed, though they were sent under Blumenthal’s name, the reports appear to have been gathered and prepared by Tyler Drumheller, a former chief of the CIA’s clandestine service in Europe who left the agency in 2005. Since then, he has established a consulting firm called Tyler Drumheller, LLC. He has also been affiliated with a firm called DMC Worldwide, which he co-founded with Washington, D.C., attorney Danny Murray and former general counsel to the U.S. Capitol Police John Caulfield. DMC Worldwide’s now-defunct website describes it at as offering “innovative security and intelligence solutions to global risks in a changing world.”

Reached for comment, a State Department public affairs official who would only speak on background declined to address questions about Blumenthal’s relationship to Clinton, whether she was aware of the intelligence network, and who if anyone was paying Blumenthal. Asked about the Tunisia-Libya mission, the official replied, “There was a trip with the secretary in October of 2011, but there was also a congressional delegation in April, 2011. There were media reports about both of these at the time.” Neither trip involved travelling via Tunis.

There is a whole bunch more and you really should read it. As for who was paying for it, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Clinton Global Initiative was involved.

This is unprecedented.

But wait! There’s more!

Trey Gowdy:

“After seeking and receiving a two week extension from the Committee, Secretary Clinton failed to provide a single new document to the subpoena issued by the Committee and refused to provide her private server to the Inspector General for the State Department or any other independent arbiter for analysis.

“We learned today, from her attorney, Secretary Clinton unilaterally decided to wipe her server clean and permanently delete all emails from her personal server. While it is not clear precisely when Secretary Clinton decided to permanently delete all emails from her server, it appears she made the decision after October 28, 2014, when the Department of State for the first time asked the Secretary to return her public record to the Department.

I used to laugh at all the conspiracy theories involving the Clintons. I told myself I was too smart to believe any of that paranoid tin foil crap.

Maybe I wasn’t as smart as I thought.

Here’s Chuck Todd:

Todd: Well, and this is the pattern of Hillary Clinton, something I brought up last week. The pattern of her political career is when she is front and center, the polarizing view of Hillary Clinton comes into focus. And when she is off the front pages and is sort of a player but on the sidelines, like when she was a Senator or when she was Secretary of State, her numbers go up. And as a presidential candidate, and when she’s at the center, you know, I think all of a sudden, there is, and she might blame that press, that the press has old habits die hard, they only cover her like she’s a Clinton from the 90s, and so it doesn’t matter. But all of a sudden, I think this is such a big challenge in the email story, is not the email story itself, it’s the idea that it creates the ‘oh, there they go again, this is the 90s all over again.’ And if Clinton fatigue, which is already a disease in the press corps, actually becomes a problem with the voting public, and these polls, maybe this is the first time that it’s becoming a problem that is doom for her.

Hewitt: It is a rumbling drum in the background. Now the Blumenthal story is different. I thought until today, actually earlier this week when I began to get wind of this, that Blumenthal would send her emails and she would write him back, and it was the kind of thing where you had a former aide, a hanger-on, and you stay in touch with everyone. No. He’s running a private intelligence operation on the Libyan-Tunisian border through former CIA operatives. Chuck Todd, if W. had done that, or actually, Condi Rice or Colin Powell would be the appropriate analogy…

Todd: Yeah.

Hewitt: …people would be tearing their hair out.

Todd: And yet I have to say nothing involving Sid Blumenthal surprises me. Zero. And I agree. I think this, I saw this Gawker stuff. You know, you’ve got, it’s Gawker and all this stuff, but I’ve learned over the years, nothing involving Sid Blumenthal is surprising. And you know, for some reason, they’ve had, he’s blindly loyal to them, and I think the Clintons have always had a blind spot with him, because he skirts the rules.

Hewitt: Yeah, this is going to…

Todd: He’s, you know, he likes to leak stuff. He likes being described, I think, as a practice of the dark arts in politics.

Hewitt: Well, Murray Chotiner…

Todd: And this goes right into his pattern of practicing dark arts. And in this case, instead of politics, it’s world diplomacy.

Hewitt: Yeah.

Todd: I agree it’s, if proven, and I think more of us are looking into this, I think it just, it only, all it does is no one thing will take her down. It’s the accumulation of bits like this that then feed the narrative of oh, do you want ten more years of what you didn’t like about the Clintons.

Hewitt: You know, Richard Nixon had Murray Chotiner. Reagan had Lyn Nofziger. Lee Atwater was George Herbert Walker Bush’s guy.

Todd: Yeah.

Hewitt: But Sid Blumenthal is known as Sid Vicious for a reason, and none of those people, to my knowledge, ran a foreign private intelligence operation, because it raises, Chuck Todd, and this would go…

Todd: Well, I don’t know about Nixon. Don’t forget ol’ G. Gordon. But when he was around…

Hewitt: Well, he was domestically, domestically. But here’s what it raises. If they’ve got a private server and a private citizen collecting private intel, it is highly likely it’s compromised going into the Secretary of State’s server. I mean, it’s just going to raise all sorts of fun. If there was on the right someone with the chops of some of the famous investigative reporters for the New Yorker, this would be keeping them up all night.

Todd: I think, and look, I think all things Sid are going to become a big part of our, I think this is going to get a lot of attention. And I don’t think it’s a right, left, right, center. And you know, this is going to be, I think, the more explosive part of the first time she testifies on Benghazi. I mean, I think the Blumenthal stuff is going to be the stickiest wicket for her.

Chuck Todd isn’t a RWNJ, he’s one of the top guns at NBC and hosts Meet The Press.

As Artie Johnson used to say, “Verrrrrry interesting.”

Hillary wanted to hire Blumenthal for her staff at Foggy Bottom but the White House said NFW so I guess she found a way to go around them and hire him anyway.

  2. threewickets says:

The Blumenthal thing looks like a nothingburger that will beat a path to Benghazi where all Hillary attacks end up. But I’ll get out of the way. 🙂 Why couldn’t they find someone in Congress to be the full-time Hillary hunter who didn’t look like a weazel. It’s like the showrunners actually wanted to cast somebody who looks like a bad guy. He reminds me of Frank Goshen.

I am a recovering Clintonista. She should have stayed in the senate and kept a 10 foot circle around her free of insane Bots. They openly said how much they hated she and Bill but she waded into it. She obviously thinks she is cleverer than she is. That said: she was surrounded by minders, spies, tattletales, and psychos at State. Very stupid Bots were running the CIA and the National Security network and as we have found out no one can believe anything they say nor what their intent is until everything goes to hell in a hand basket. So how do you get good intel not tainted by the Bots. You buy it from someone. Preferably someone trustworthy who is not connected with the loons in the WH. The Republicans squawk about everything even if they know why something was done politically. This does not look good. But with the current state of things with this WH serving as an employee/lobbyist/fluffer for the Iranian Empire, with the Saud’s, Egyptian’s, etc not telling the WH jack-squat and leaking openly on why, Israel’s collective “kiss my ass” election, and France, FRANCE!!!, saying “Hold on Sparky this is crazy!” you can see why a whole industry burgeoned around by-passing ValJar and Choom for intelligence and sanity. Is it right? No. But SOS should not be treated as enemies nor should ex-presidents. Look squirrel as Bronco gives Iran the bomb.

Now throw tomatoes at me. I am wearing my raincoat.

    • piper says:

but I refused to throw tomatoes as their a bit pricey and needed in salads. Here a pic. of my new hat.

    • swanspirit says:

I am so disappointed with Hillary. She really should have steered completely clear of that
entire administration , especially after what they did to her and her husband. If I had to vote for Jeb Bush, and Hillary was the only alternative, I have to vote for Jeb, because i feel that Obama would still be puling strings through her. And that gives me the shivers.

      • DeniseVB says:

A Dem win in 2016 will give them a mandate to keep the country circling the drain. Shivers indeed. As Dandy Tiger once said, let’s give the other assholes a turn 😀

    • leslie says:

I get what you’re saying. I’ve even had some of those same thoughts. But this whole thing stinks. Obama should NEVER have been anywhere near the WH – EVER. And that the SOS or anyone else felt they couldn’t trust him and his cronies is sick. I realize that HRC was playing the “I get to be Prezzy next” game and wanted to cover all her bases. But she should’ve stayed in the Senate. She didn’t. Now she looks like sh*t – just like bronco. And now even I think “I’ll never be able to vote for her.” That is something that brings tears to my eyes… literally makes me tearful.

      • Lulu says:

I feel like I am just making excuses and I do not condone what she did. BUT I can see someone who is too big for their britches doing this kind of crap. You can’t deal with these Obama-ite lunatics or outsmart them because they have no shame or sense. They lie when they don’t have to do so. I understand feeling or knowing you are being snookered or lied to but you get out and expose them (or try) rather than participating or committing crimes to get around them. I guess I am more disappointed than surprised but that has been the past six years.

        • leslie says:

I know. You’re right. I am so angered and then saddened by HRC’s role/participation in first the f*cked up administration, second what she within that government. I can make excuses for Hillary with the best of them. And I even believe those excuses – at least some of them. But it doesn’t mitigate the thoughts and feelings I have about what might have been. ughhhh. I’m gonna stop now and just listen.

        • Kathy says:

Understand what you are saying and I do agree that she needed independent Intel, but I also think that possibly the bots might have ‘crashed and burned’ sooner if Hill, Panetta and Gates hadn’t been there. Maybe they thought they were saving the country or something but I think the crap would have hit sooner and maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t have been re-elected. We are two years into an adult free term for Obama and all hell is breaking loose. Personally, I blame Axelrod for this.

    • foxyladi14 says:

      That deserves Roses . 😀

  4. DeniseVB says:

Had the media been kinder to Hillary in 2008 there may have been a different outcome to that election. Though Sarah was treated more harshly for stupid things, like calling her stupid, yet of all the P/VP candidates in ’08, she was the most accomplished and experienced AND A WIFE, MOM and GRANDMA ! (thanks for that hypocrisy feminists).

I like Hillary, but not for President. Ever. Now if you want a HISTORIC woman firsty, dig into your CEOs and Govs who actually had to make decisions. The GOP has a far deeper bench of qualified women to run, and yet the party of EQUALITY has Sandra Fluke and Wendy Davis. The Dems should be running more and more women in Governor races, have I missed that? Sad that when I think of Dem woman, Fluke and Davis are the only familiar names to me. How sad 😦

Nice little rant on Greta’s FB this morning……

  6. DeniseVB says:

Ready for Rubio ? I think he’s running for VP and would bring Florida with the hispanic vote. April is going to be a busy month 🙂

    • swanspirit says:

I am still firmly convinced that if Mitt had chosen Rubio for VP, we would have had a different outcome in the last presidential election. I think Mitt went fot the Math guy, and discounted the people component. Rubio has appeal.

      • leslie says:

So did the Math guy – have appeal. But the wrong, or, maybe too different, kind of appeal. It was that “Hey Girl” appeal that many of my colleagues talked about but not one of them voted for.

      • DeniseVB says:

Bob McDonnell was on Mitt’s short list until Ann met the crazy wife, Maureen, who tried to sell her that “snakeoil” from the druglord friend (who ratted them out) to cure her MS.

I like Rubio 🙂 Yeah, Mitt the practical guy forgot about the political “strategery”. He would have been a good President. Ryan could have been his economic wonk in the WH or a fine Cabinet member.

        • swanspirit says:

Really, he could have used Ryan very effectively, and Rubio would have been a fine VP. Better than “Old Gropey Joe” ewww more shivers..

OT as usual but couldn’t resist another image shared by Dave on no quarter.
Marie Harf is a success story reforming 5 former gizmo prisoners with drum roll please – new jobs

    • leslie says:

I really needed that. My first thoughts this morning were about the search and recovery workers in the Alps who are bringing the passenger remains and whatever else they can of the crashed German airliner. What those men and women must be going through as they try to keep wild life away by night and have to carry body parts to waiting helicopters by day. These people are accustomed to saving – rescuing people, not bringing down body parts. I imagine the counseling business is going to burgeoning over there for quite some time. 😦

  8. piper says:

According to my deductive skills, all of these Clinton attacks are being orchestrated by Obama, Val Jar and Mooch who hate the Clintons with a passion and are extremely worried that she and Bill are more popular and will undo their ‘work’ in making us a third world country. Never in my lifetime have I seen so much hate coming from the WH.
Media taking direction from WH in reporting negative stories – success

    • leslie says:

They should stop worrying and do something to save the country and not their hateful asses. Because they have caused worlds of hurt in just a few long years. Can’t they just say “Mission Accomplished” and leave the rest of us alone?

    • 1539days says:

I couldn’t care less. The Clintons knew the Obamas were dirt bags when they called Bill a racist for his “fairy tale” comment.
