Ben Carson Has A Yoooooge Ego

No, seriously.

Ben Carson’s house: a homage to himself – in pictures

The decor at Ben Carson’s home in Maryland shows that Donald Trump may not have the biggest ego among the Republican candidates. On display are awards, certificates, medals, and a painting of himself with Jesus

We wouldn’t want to elect someone who was enamored with himself, now would we?

If you follow the link you will see that Ben Carson has received lots of degrees and awards and has had his picture taken with lots of famous people – and he has most or all of them on display in his home (mostly in his furnished basement/rec room)

    • 49erDweet says:

Trying to figure out how that’s different than anyone else’s basement/rec room……….Nope, can’t.

    • jeffhas says:

Followed the link – all those ‘awards about himself’ are int eh friggin’ basement with a Pool Table…. just like 49’er says – How is this different from anyone else?

If I won awards/accolades I’d probably thrown ’em in my office (oh wait, I did that already) – but that Medal of Freedom would be somewhere prominent.

The only explanation is The Guardian is Racist.

    • swanspirit says:

That is hilarious; the furnished basement is where my dads trophies and plaques went after my mother had her hissy fit about them being dust collectors. One or two particularly nice ones were allowed to stay upstairs, but that was it. And did I mention the bowling shirts?

One of the duckpin hall-of-fame’s greatest bowlers, Shorty Divver, passed along a story that one of his buddies, Jay Bernarding, told him, and is as follows. The story is about Dave Volk, a former ‘Number One duckpin bowler in the country’ and one of the best bowlers the game had ever known. Volk’s occupation was that of a cab driver. One day while Dave was driving his cab, he happened to see a man on the street wearing a shirt with the name, DAVE VOLK, on the back of it, in big letters. (This was coincidental because the duckpin pro tour’s shirts customarily required bowlers to have their names displayed on the back of tour shirts in 3-inch block letters.) As Dave drove closer, he then recognized that it was one of his own pro tour shirts. It turned out that Dave’s wife had donated his pro tour shirts to the Goodwill, and apparently, this stranger had bought it, and wasn’t too proud to wear it in public.

This is how Dr. Carson spent his Sunday.

Ben Carson Pledges to Advocate Statehood for Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson traveled to Puerto Rico on Sunday to support the U.S. territory becoming the 51st state, saying that would strengthen the United States.

    • lizzy says:

Didn’t Puerto Rico reject statehood very recently. Don’t see how his position affects situation aside from pandering to Latinos.

      • Dora says:

They rejected statehood and independence a number of times already. The politicians keep pushing it and will continue to do so until they get their way. Remember – the other side only has to win once.

first of all why shouldn’t he show them? He earned them they were not prizes for showing up, not like that phony peace price given to backtrack.

second of all, I read somewhere that good surgeons have to have big egos. They are cutting into your body or brain and need to be sure enough of themselves to do so. Would you want an unsure surgeon with a shaky hand cutting you? I would not

This is NOT what millions of men and women for over 200 years fought for. The bureaucrats are getting out of hand

I need a safe place to use the word “stupid”. It’s such a good word. So descriptive. But it’s currently on the banned word list because it’s “unkind” to people who are not smart. But “Stupid is as stupid does” and “Fat, drunk, and stupid are no way to go through life, son” are two of my favorite movie quotes. And you can’t blame the educational system for the people in those vignettes. They’re just plain stupid. 😉

Michelle Malkin had a live stream on Facebook about her new book, “Sold Out.” Caught the end of it, but I liked it.

    True story. 😉

    • lizzy says:

Depends on which black guy you criticize. You still can’t talk trash about Obama. You can say all kinds of bad stuff about Carson though.

    • leslie says:

so true. just try talking trash about bronco – or even refer to him as obama instead of PRESIDENT obama and you’ll be accused of being raycist.

    • afrocity says:

Well not really, when it comes to black conservatives like myself it is always open season. I actually look forward to getting my DNC invitation to ” GOP CoonFest” so they can play pin the tail on the Uncle Tom.

Remember the cardinal rules of NOW and the NAACP:

We protect the rights of woman and black people so long as they are not Republicans. Otherwise feel free to rape or lynch them. (figuratively speaking…of course)

      • Myiq2xu says:

Now that SSM is legal in all 50 states (including KY) it’s all about “trans rights” for the LGBT community – otherwise the Dems have nothing left to offer them.

There was a brouhaha on M Joe today between Joe and Hewitt about the weekend’s Carson sh*tshow. I wish I were able to record (no DVR and an no longer use the old recorder) because I had just stepped into the bathroom when they started talking with Hewitt. When I came out, Joe was saying Hewitt owed him an apology and there was much yelling (or screaming had they been wiminzz).
I doubt they’ll replay it so if anyone watched it – – – cynic? – – -anybody? please share the details.
BTW: Mika suggested to Hewitt that he watch the replay of the incident and “then come back to” talk about it.

    • Anthony says:

I saw it, and was gobsmacked. Joe decimated him. It was delightful to see Hewitt get his ass handed to him. In pieces. It was better than Christmas!

Here’s a link to Marco Rubio’s credit card use when he became Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. It cost him that job and I remember it well. He had become Cuba;s favorite son at the time, boyish and charming. That CC use became a big brouhaha down here i n Florida. Its too bad I can’t find old news reports on the google.

    • cynic says:

The D’s & R’s know how to ‘hide’ those stories.

There was a small scandal in our district. A Republican was running for a county seat, but there was something dishonest in his past. I remembered the story vaguely, and when I tried finding more about it on the internet, I couldn’t find anything. I asked one of the party leaders about it, she said that they knew how to make those stories go away.

I have saved so many of Obama’s stories from his past that are now no longer there. You get a 404.

      • leslie says:

Good point there. I know I have a folder labeled “Obama Lies” that holds myriad links that harvest 404 errors. I now know the value of screen shots.

  13. cynic says:

At the 5:00 hr., Joe went on the attack of Carson. They piled on, laughed at the picture of him and Jesus, and said that the media did indeed go after different candidates in prior elections. Then Joe made a stupid analogy and said he went to the moon. It was stupid, and a waste of time. By 7:00, I had enough, and turned off the tv.

Hugh made mention that none of the media had made mention of the two new Hillary Clinton stories. He also tried to talk about those stories on MTP yesterday a.m., but Rachel Maddow kept butting in and kept repeating the word ‘scholarship’. Likewise, Hugh was having a hard time getting anyone to mention the Hillary stories today. (Hillary/Teneo and her signing the ‘Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement’)

The point that Hugh was trying to make was that all the media wants to talk about are old stories of Carson, and the current Hillary stories are being ignored.

    • leslie says:

Thanks, cynic. There was so much noise that it was difficult to discern the point. (or points) and it sounds as if Hewitt had some valid points to make.
