The White House National Security Team

The White House National Security Team

Remember the big stink that the Left made over Bush’s failure to act on intelligence about Al Qaeda’s plans before 9/11?

I wonder what they will say about this:

Analysts at U.S. Central Command were pressured to ease off negative assessments about the Islamic State threat and were even told in an email to “cut it out,” Fox News has learned – as an investigation expands into whether intelligence reports were altered to present a more positive picture.

Fox News is told by a source close to the CENTCOM analysts that the pressure on them included at least two emails saying they needed to “cut it out” and “toe the line.”

Separately, a former Pentagon official told Fox News there apparently was an attempt to destroy the communications. The Pentagon official said the email warnings were “not well received” by the analysts.

Those emails, among others, are now in the possession of the Pentagon inspector general. The IG’s probe is expanding into whether intelligence assessments were changed to give a more positive picture of the anti-ISIS campaign.

The former Pentagon official said there were “multiple assessments” from military intelligence and the CIA regarding the “rapid rise” of ISIS in Iraq and North Africa in the year leading up to the group’s territory grab in 2014.

Similar intelligence was included in the President’s Daily Brief, or PDB – the intelligence community’s most authoritative product — during the same time period. Yet the official, who was part of the White House discussions, said the administration kept “kicking the can down the road.” The official said there was no discussion of the military involvement needed to make a difference.

Actually, I don’t have to wonder. They’ll try to ignore it. They’ll claim it’s from Fox News and therefore lies. Then they’ll say “But BUSH!” And of course the media will claim the GOP has politicized the issue.

If this story is true, (and you know it’s true) this is criminal malfeasance. If this isn’t an impeachable offense, what is?

But don’t hold your breath. France has done more damage to ISIS in one week than Obama has done since day one.

Here’s a story from a couple weeks ago I never talked about:

President Barack Obama is not interested in hearing intelligence information about Islamist groups he does not consider to be terrorist groups — even if they’re on the U.S. list of designated terrorists, investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson revealed on the Steve Malzberg Show Thursday.

The host of Full Measure told Malzberg that according to sources close to the White House, Obama stubbornly refuses to hear about intelligence surrounding radical Islamic terror groups.

“I have talked to people who have worked in the Obama administration who firmly believe he has made up his mind, I would say closed his mind, they say, to the intelligence they try to bring him about various groups he does not consider terrorists even if they’re on the U.S. list of designated terrorists,” Attkisson said. “I don’t know the reasoning for it — I’ve only been told by those who have allegedly attempted to present him, or been in the circle that has attempted to present him, with certain intelligence that they said he doesn’t want it, he said he doesn’t want it or he won’t read it in some instances.”

Meanwhile, Obama wants to allow thousands of Syrian refugees into our country. He claims his administration will vet them thoroughly.

Klown, thank you for posting about this. I was going to write about it earlier this a.m. in response to Leslie’s post about Morning Joe this a.m.

This was a big topic of discussion on the show this a.m. Joe said, “Somebody in the Pentagon is cooking the books.” They were referencing the NY Times article.
“But military officials have told Congress that some of those emails and documents may have been deleted before they had to be turned over to investigators, according to a senior congressional official, who requested anonymity to speak about the ongoing inquiry.”
“This past summer, a group of Centcom analysts took concerns about their superiors to the inspector general, saying they had evidence that senior officials had changed intelligence assessments to overstate the progress of American airstrikes against the Islamic State, also known as ISIS.”

Joe explained that Obama’s constant downplaying of the threats, with Obama most recently saying the terrorists are bad guys with guns and social media is the reason why Trump is so popular. Trump appears strong.

Personally, when I think of Trump, I think of some of the characters that John Wayne played. He’s my hubby’s favorite, and I’ve had to sit thru many of his films. He pulls no punches.

  2. Myiq2xu says:

A U.S. Central Command official confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon on Monday that warning pamphlets were dropped on Islamic State targets 45 minutes before bombing sorties in order “to minimize the risks to civilians.”

The confirmation comes on the heels of disclosures that U.S. military pilots were blocked from dropping 75 percent of their ordinance on likely targets due to concerns about harming civilians.

The warning leaflets were dropped in advance of strikes on an Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL) convoy of trucks near the city of Al-Bukamal in Syria, according to the military official.

“We can confirm that leaflets were used prior to air strike operations in the area near Al-Bukamal, as part of Operation Tidal Wave II,” the source said. “The leaflets are used to minimize the risks to civilians.”

The leaflets read: “Get out of your trucks now and run away from them.”

Another message stated: “Warning: airstrikes are coming. Oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life,” according to the Pentagon.

    • Myiq2xu says:

Warren explained that American officials were deeply worried about harming the truck drivers, who were working for ISIS but might not be ISIS themselves. U.S. officials settled on a plan to drop leaflets on the trucks about 45 minutes before the raid, warning the drivers that an attack was coming, while U.S. pilots flew low passes over the area. Planning all that took time…

“We have not struck these trucks before,” Warren said. “We assessed that these trucks, while although they are being used for operations that support ISIL, the truck drivers, themselves, [are] probably not members of ISIL; they’re probably just civilians. So we had to figure out a way around that. We’re not in this business to kill civilians, we’re in this business to stop ISIL — to defeat ISIL.”…

Finally, when all the work had been done, 300 ISIS trucks were found in one place. It was an inviting target.

“These trucks were queued up,” Warren said. “They were sitting sort of on flat desert. There wasn’t really anything recognizable as a road around. It was just out there on the desert floor in the vicinity of one of these oil fields, one of these oil facilities that we’ve been striking. So they were queued up there waiting to take on their illicit oil…So these trucks were — they were just sitting there, not moving.”

Interesting that ISIS has civilian employees driving their trucks. Wonder how well they pay?

This isn’t even his first impeachable offense, but impeachment simply is not going to happen, and I think he knows it. No matter what he does, he cannot force world events, or any events , to conform to his narrative, And his loyal cult followers will continue to defend him and twist themselves into pretzels to spread the lies.
I am hoping the scandal seriously tarnishes his reputation, because he deserves it ,but I am not even holding my breath for that,

  4. cynic says:

I know that I shouldn’t be referencing Glenn Beck again, but he always said that you should look what the other hand is doing. This came to mind with all the discussion on line and tv about the Trump comments. If everyone is talking about that, we’re ignoring this important story.

  5. elliesmom says:

We have a lot of fun here with Tinfoil Tuesday, but I don’t think you need a tinfoil hat to figure out Obama is a Muslim. His stepfather was a Muslim. He attended a Muslim school. He says the Islamic call to prayer is the most beautiful sound in the world. When he talks about Muslims, he often uses the pronoun “we”. “The future must not belong to those who would slander the prophet of Islam.” The Fort Hood Massacre was “workplace violence”. The way he treats Netanyahu. His refusal to really go after ISIS. Wanting to shut down Guantanamo and letting known terrorists return to the fighting. Obama isn’t going after the terrorists because they’re members of his own tribe. He believes the people of the Middle East have been wronged by the West. “When someone shows you who he is, believe him the first time.”

    • Myiq2xu says:

Obama doesn’t believe in a power higher than himself, but he is very simpatico with Muslims.

    • votermom says:

He’s at the very least a cultural Muslim

    • I wish you were in a position of power. Why the Hell is Trump resonating so much? AMERICANS KNOW!

    • Somebody says:

I agree that in the very least Obama identifies as a Muslim in some ways. I don’t know that he really follows any religion other than self worship. His statements and his actions clearly tell where his allegiances lie. He indeed does speak with the pronoun we when talking about Muslims. He appears much more comfortable with Muslim leaders than with western leaders too.

I definitely think he has committed impeachable offenses, but he could behead a baby on live TV while simultaneously eating a puppy and you couldn’t get 2/3 of the senate to convict. What I am more concerned with is what he or those in his administration have shared with his “tribe”. What intelligence? What information about our military and weapons systems, satellites, that kind of stuff. How many of his “tribe” or those that sympathize with his “tribe” are buried within the ranks of civil service? In 8 years time you can have a major impact on the ranks of civil service, Bush certainly did.

Whoever the next POTUS is, it needs to be somebody that can meticulously go about cleaning house. Haha, as I’m writing this it occurred to me maybe there are a lot of people ahead of me on the learning curve since they’re supporting a guy whose tag line is “Your Fired”.

  6. cynic says:

Don’t forget the interview with George Stuffinenvelopes (courtesy of an Anne Althouse commenter) where he said ‘my Muslim faith’ and Georgie corrected him with Christian faith.

Oh, and how about the 57 state thing. (57 States of Islam).

Yep, it was all out there, and people are still in denial, thanks to the media. You know, we’re Right Wing Loonies.

I spent a couple hours at the “salon” getting my hands and feet reworked this afternoon. It was interesting that the women (employees) who had been supporters of bronco in the past, have been persuaded by his behavior that he is 👿
The women who were conservative and anti-bronco all along, sat quietly while the newly converted ranted and raved about ISIS and obama, and immigration, ACA insurance, and myriad other issues. One of them is originally from Syria. She is torn because she knows that the Muslims are forcing the Christians to “convert” or die. She also agrees that ISIS will most likely try to use the refugee flood as a cover to enter other countries – including ours.
What was more interesting is that they were talking about this quite openly and with no regard that their shop is in the midst of the second most liberal community outside Chicago in Illinois. None of these women are native citizens, but all are naturalized citizens. They are from Latvia and Russia and Serbia and other Slavic countries. One of them compared him to Putin saying, “You can’t believe a word either of them says”.

Many of the clients also voiced their objections to bronco and everything connected to him – but not all. That was also surprising. It’s true that Monday is not the busiest day, but with Thanksgiving only days away, there were more people there than usual on a Monday. Some of the techs now support Trump. Others don’t know who they support at this time. But they all want obama impeached – yes they said impeached.

One of the things Trump has done effectively is offer something his competitors don’t In business, if you are the only one to offer something, you’ve cornered the market and don’t need to prove yourself as much. Trump is offering definitive answers, especially on immigration and terrorism, when all the other candidates are moderating their stances.

SO bizzare she was thrown away. I picked her up by mistake at achell hole day care center. She had me when she looked up from her stench pit and something in those fat little arms and the look of relief in her big brpown eyes. I went Norma Rea. I had yet turned 40. Gay New Yorker in Pittsburgh for a visit. I stayed for her.
Nearly all of my friends work in the arts. So critical of me for my choice to raise her. I happen to think it is the most artistic thing I have ever done.
I am an asshole. Rude. Loads of stuff wrong with me, but I got this kid who is exceptional calls me on being said asshole. All the time.

At that point, Smith’s acting and singing had been generating tons of money for decades — which may have inoculated him from, and even blinded him to, the worst behaviors in Hollywood. Going back even further, for example, he called 1999 “a great time to be black in Hollywood.”

The past few years have been famously tough on Smith’s career — several big-budget movies of his bombed badly. It’s possible, even probable, that he’s been treated differently as a result — waking him up to the hardships some of his peers have always faced.

Saw the video and the Med Student is extremely fortunate to be alive. After being shot in the abdomen, the shooter made several attempts to shot him in the head. The POS Tech-9(?) jammed and couldn’t be cleared. The shooter needs to be sent to Angola for a very long time.

    • Somebody says:

That’s not going to sit well with Putin. Unfortunately for us if there is one NATO nation Obama would lead a charge to defend it’s Turkey. This could get ugly quickly, hopefully not.

    • cynic says:

Perhaps it’s time to reread some past articles. Knowing what is going on now, can we be surprised? I remember Richard Engel, for NBC, reporting on the ground in Turkey, reporting that men were crossing the border from Turkey to Syria, and they were scary looking, and he didn’t even want to know what they were carrying in their backpacks.

We assumed that they were fighting against Assad.

When I reread this article, I have to wonder if Turkey was sending men over to help Assad. Remember, there is a reason why Turkey kept their borders open. (just thinking here, and quite frankly, my mind is hurting, and I think I’ll go do some Thanksgiving cooking):

Turkish President Abdullah Gul’s visit to Iran this weekend comes just days after reports said that Turkey has agreed to train the Syrian army. Turkey’s recent moves raise more questions about the direction being taken by the NATO member’s Islamist-leaning government.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks with Syrian President Bashir Assad in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, the latest in what have become regular meetings between Turkish and Syrian leaders.
Regional media reporting on the meeting focused largely on a groundbreaking ceremony for a “friendship dam” to be built jointly, straddling the Syria-Turkey border.
The report said the two countries had agreed on Turkish military training for the Syrian army
“That the Obama administration intends to sell Turkey the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, our next generation aircraft replete with stealth technology, without even conducting a review about the potential leakage of its secrets to Turkey’s partners in Iran and Syria is unprecedented incompetence,” he (Michael Rubin) said.

      from the article:

If Trump isn’t a Republican, then Bernie definitely isn’t a Democrat. The ballot commission is non-partisan so if they apply a set of rules to one party, they have to set them to the other.
