Lola, so funny ! It’s great to have a fresh thread with coffee 🙂 Here’s the first news item I saw on my newsfeed this morning and I’m more confused than ever about the muslim faith.

Any port in a storm, sailor.

    • elliesmom says:

The first thing I saw in my FB feed this morning was a screed about how we shouldn’t be saying nasty things about Muslims, black, and brown people because Timothy McVeigh was a white conservative Christian. McVeigh was raised Catholic, and I don’t remember anyone reporting he was yelling “Hail, Mary!” as he blew up the federal building.

    Thanks for the link. 😉

  5. Speaking of postmilennials, MTV has announced that they are calling this generation The Founders. I am not doing that. Stupidest. Name. Ever. And already taken. Bruh.

They should be called GeNex, since they are the first cohort to be parented predominantly by Gen X. I’d settle for NexGen.

So if you missed the MJoe back and forth with Trump this morning . . .

  8. DandyTIger says:

So the president proposes to use a secret list with no due process to limit American’s constitutional rights and we hear crickets. Trump does his usual outlandish trolling, and exploding heads. What a country.

    • DeniseVB says:

If you’re not safe enough to fly, maybe you should be in jail or executed ? The list is a joke and we know Obama is capable of using it to put his political enemies on. Like using the IRS to audit those teabaggers 😉 Ben Carson got audited after his famous Prayer Breakfast speech. Also how they caught Dinesh D’Souza who seems to have accurately predicted 2016 back in 2012, for a strawman donation, illegal but rarely enforced, because donation.

  9. Dora says:

So many of us have been waiting for this since 9/11. Instead we have had to watch the Muslims being pandered to by the government, while they continue to build their mosques and occupy one city after another. In the area of the Twin Towers – the location of the worst attack – they are in the process of building a mosque. Believe it or not there are streets in downtown NYC that are closed off on Fridays so that the Muslims can lay down their rugs and stick up their asses in what they call prayer. I, for one, have had enough.

God Bless and Protect Donald Trump. He is a brave and patriotic American.

Donald Trump’s Proposal To Halt Muslim Immigration Is Prudent, Wise, Brilliant and Long Overdue…

If that man believes that somehow he is going to capture some voters that way, he is wrong. IMHO, the Donald will gloss over this one. Too many people understand the second half of the statement…”until our coutry’s representatives can figure out what is going on.” He’s part of the problem.

  13. Myiq2xu says:

‘This Will Be The End Of Trump’s Campaign,’ Says Increasingly Nervous Man For Seventh Time This Year

Repeating identical comments he had made in June, July, August, September, and twice in November, increasingly nervous local man Aaron Howe responded to Donald Trump’s call to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. Monday by once again stating this would be the end of the Republican frontrunner’s campaign, sources confirmed. “Well, that’s it—you just can’t say those kinds of things and expect to be taken seriously any longer,” said an anxious Howe, his voice quavering slightly as he spoke aloud the very same words he had previously uttered in reaction to remarks about Mexicans, women, the disabled, former POW John McCain, and a number of other targeted parties. “That’s the final nail in the coffin right there. There’s no way he’s coming back from this one.” At press time, a visibly tense Howe was steadily amassing the angst and exasperation that would be unleashed in his seventh expletive-filled exclamation of the year when he catches sight of the newest set of GOP poll numbers.

Wasn’t that for the Charlie Hebdo slayings?
I don’t think obama sent anything. But he attended that Climate Change thing, didn’t he? Maybe he thought that was enough from him.

    • mcnorman says:

Listen Denise, France should consider themselves lucky that teh won didn’t send another IPod out with all of his lectures about how terrorism does not exist.

      • DeniseVB says:

Lol, true dat. I think Obama was more pissed about his “World Peace Nobel Laureate” agenda and some terrorists “mucked” it up. I want my more warm fuzzy compassionate country back, not a political legacy for a dain bramaged narcissicist. Send Puppies, Not Kerry !

  15. gram krakka says:

If the current trajectory continues, I fear what will colleges and universities be like in 7 years when my gd, the lovely Eleanor of Arlington, is college age.

Anti-free speech demonstrators at one of America’s most vaunted universities have claimed a pair of scalps – a husband-wife duo who say teaching is too much trouble in a campus climate “not conducive to civil dialogue.”

The affair began in October, when Erika Christakis, a psychology professor and associate master at the school’s Silliman College, one of a dozen residential communities, sent out an email defending the right of students to wear costumes which may be “culturally appropriating.” That spurred outrage and led to one student confronting Nicholas Christakis on the campus quad and berating him in a shocking episode that was caught on video that soon went viral.

“I have great respect and affection for my students, but I worry that the current climate at Yale is not, in my view, conducive to the civil dialogue and open inquiry required to solve our urgent societal problems,” she said in an email to The Washington Post.

Is there no room anymore for a child or young person to be a little bit obnoxious… a little bit inappropriate or provocative or, yes, offensive?” Christakis wrote. “American universities were once a safe space not only for maturation but also for a certain regressive, or even transgressive, experience; increasingly, it seems, they have become places of censure and prohibition.”

    • DeniseVB says:

My son’s backup plan for my 13yo grandtwins is the military. At first it was to qualify them for that nice GI Bill free college program, now it’s to save them from the insanity that’s running amock on campuses.

    • Sad to see the students won. Next semester is my last semester teaching at the college level precisely because I know this ethos is trickling down to the community college level and I am not dealing with that bullshit.

      • Jadzia says:

Come teach in France, that bullshit has not trickled down (sideways?) to the public universities here…. I only had ONE special snowflake out of about 400 students this semester!

        • Jadzia says:

My specialiest snowflake of them all was a student I had last year. She was an exchange student. Guess from where?

  16. mothy67 says:

So I went from Trump is fun to I’m liking the guy to changing my registration for primary. I did it in person picked up a ton of forms for family/friends. I know you can print up registration forms online in PA, but handing the form with a stamped envelope helps the process. I donated a small amount to his campaign as a token gesture.

    • DeniseVB says:

I can’t imagine this election cycle without Trump. All they way to the primary and general ballot box, nobody else is speaking for ME.

  17. DeniseVB says:

Did anyone see Rudy Guiliani on Fox this a.m. when he said, paraphrased, Obama linking Islamic extremism to gun control would be as effective had he (as Mayor) called for gun control to deal with the Mafia ? It just cracked me up.

  18. Anthony says:

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our coutry’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Our country’s media and representatives are totally ignoring the second part of that statement. I admit, I thought “Now he’s gone too far!” when I first saw the clips and heard the chorus of brownshirts MSM pundits, but now I see it for what it is: A direct challenge to the current Admin as well as Congress to come up with a policy that keeps us safe.

    • mcnorman says:

When smart ones like Huma Abedin begin to say something about this problem other than calling it white supremacy lunacy, I will listen. Failure to read the entire statement and understand what it means has become quite obvious to many of us.

      • DeniseVB says:

I saw a meme today about only 8% of muslims are “radical”, so what are the other 92% doing to stop that icky stuff like putting women in burkas, child brides, raping little boys, killing everyone who doesn’t agree with them, throwing gays off buildings, stoning rape victims, chopping, burning, drowning everybody else? Obama NEVER denounces those asswipes.

    • mcnorman says:

Has Trump gone too far? Regardless, public is obsessed on radical Muslim dangers, Complete refugee pause to fix vetting makes sense.

I thought Hillary Clinton was someone else. I busted my ass working for her. I was immune to the racist labels thrown at me then and my skin is even thicker with Trump. Calling me names has zero effect. The media will not define me or my thoughts. I am nearing the half century mark. What I care most about is my brat. I worry. I am taking vistaral because I I worry. I would take a trip to Manhattan tomorrow. Not afraid for me but my annoying little girl I am always afraid. Suppose all caretakers endure some fear. Nature of caring for a kid. The randomness of the San Bernardo murders is for me scarier than a bomb in New York. I was a student at Temple when the Lockerbie plane was blown up. I had classmates and a professor on that plane. Temple has a London campus. I moved to NYC. I was there for the truck bomb at WTC. Then 9/11. I was out of the city on that day in Ronkonkama. I am unable to process how the far left can rationalize what took place that day. Slicing throats and delivering innocents to a firey death while yelling an affirmation to a murderous god. Makes no sense to me how the media protects islam.
I know this sounds harsh i pray there is not another attack but if there i hope it is on liberals. Why are we not hearing the anger from the families of SB?

  22. Dora says:

I posted the law which banned Islam in 1952 above, but it’s stuck in moderation. You will see it soon, I’m sure. 🙂

    • DeniseVB says:

Got ya. I think the US banned ALL visas for a couple of decades in the mid-late 20th century or so ?

      • Somebody says:

I’m pretty sure the 1952 law was supplanted by the 1965 immigration act sponsored by Ted Kennedy. To my knowledge that 1965 law was the last major immigration policy passed, everything else has nibbled around the edges.

  23. Dora says:

Here is an article about it.
Islam, by law, is prohibited from US immigration

Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic.

In fact, there are many verses in the Koran that command Islamists to kill those who do not submit to allah and the prophet. If Congress so desired to hold the White House accountable to the current immigration of refugees (which also must comply with the law), it has the Immigration and Nationality Act to cite.

Ok, I’m calling it, New York Daily News is the MSM for the Salon/Vox groupies. No more words to add to ….

    It’s official.

With the police killing of 48-year-old John Alan Britton, who was suicidal at a Wyoming ski resort, more people have been killed by police so far in 2015, with a few weeks to spare, than were killed by police in all of 2014.

Britton, who had a knife, was shot on contact by police. In many countries around the world, suicidal or even homicidal men with knives are shocked with stun guns or subdued with plastic shields. This is America though….more at the link :faceplam:

I spent the day, quietly, addressing my Christmas cards. I knew, in the first few minutes of Morning Joe, that I needed to turn off the tv.

I turned on the tv as I was preparing supper, watched for maybe 5 minutes, and quickly turned it off again.

The Republican establishment is on a full frontal attack. Not sure how this will end up. I think that there are loyal Trump followers that will never leave him. This might bring in more Americans that know that this world is in big trouble, and know why. I’m grabbing more popcorn when I go grocery shopping.

Speaking of TinFoil Tuesday, I still think Sundance is Kevin Dujan, who suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth after my (and others) donations to keep Hillbuzz ALIVE. So, I read that blog as an orginal member of the treehouse, turned refuge. Opinionators wear thin when nothing changes.

      • piper says:

Are you saying that Kevin has a new blog named conservative treehouse? There were a number of us who contributed to Kevin then found his blog private leaving us out in the cold.

        • DeniseVB says:

Just a “tinfoil” Tuesday hunch on my part. Back in the Hillbuzz day, sent kev $50 then I got banned ?????? Personally, I just don’t trust Sundance, just too Kevinish. Like the infowwars site only with more tinfoil. Just dont send him money 😛

          • Dora says:

I didn’t realize that. I never put the two together. I used to enjoy reading Hillbuzz, but I never sent money. Actually, I never send anybody money. 🙂

  34. Myiq2xu says:

A ‘heads up’ for those men who may be regular Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise.
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don’t be naive enough to think it couldn’t happen to you or your friends.
Here’s how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say ‘No’ and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds..
You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen November 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also December 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 28th, three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

  36. Jadzia says:

So love him or hate him, it is FASCINATING watching Sarkozy play his opponents like a fucking fiddle. If only he’d been this good at governing! So you all know that the Front Nationale took almost half of the regions in France during the first round of elections last weekend. The second round is next weekend, i.e., in a couple of days. LAST time around, the UMP (now the “republicains,” Sarkozy’s center-right party) and the Socialists essentially joined forces to keep Marine LePen and her party out of power. I think everybody assumed that this is what would happen again.

And then Sarkozy came out and said, “Nope, Not gonna play that game again.”

And then the Socialist Party DROPPED OUT of two of the regional elections, throwing its support to…. les republicains! I swear, every time I see Sarkozy’s smug mug on the TV, he seems to be thinking, “I can’t believe that actually worked!”

Even more amusing is that Sarko seems to have sparked a civil war within the Socialist Party and again, remember that this is like FOUR DAYS before the election. The Socialists TRIED to drop out of 3 regions and in typical fashion, they have even fucked that up. Because the guy who is the head of the Socialist slate in Alsace refused to drop out! So now the PS is squabbling and I believe they expelled him from the party. QUICK, GET ME SOME POPCORN!

So that was yesterday’s news. Now today I see that Sarko gave an interview in which he said something like “Voter pour le FN, ce n’est pas immoral.” Very interesting, right? Do you think he might have looked at the United States and seen what happened when you demonize a large chunk of the electorate because of a policy disagreement? (“If you oppose Obama’s policies, you’re a bad person!”) I kind of do.

Seriously, I don’t think even Sarko thought that his plans would work out this well. He is magnificently trolling the entire political establishment.

    • Jadzia says:

I do wonder who authorized the “VOTE FOR OUR PARTY IN THE 2ND ROUND!” email that I just received on my public-employee (university) email account.

    • Jadzia says:

Finally, it is more than clear that the folks in the PS are LOSING THEIR SHIT. Our freaking Prime Minister (the guy who I once thought was going to take over as the designated grownup, and boy was I wrong about that) just went on TV and said, and this is a direct quote, “The FN is a scam.” Huh?

      • Jadzia says:

FINAL POST: That guy, Manuel Valls, was himself at the center of a scandal a few years ago, when he made an appearance at a public market and was caught on camera saying that the city would look a lot better if there were more white people there. MM-HMMM. (You can find this on his Wikipedia entry, FN 14, which takes you to a French-language publication.)
