Scott Adams Calls His Shot

Scott Adams on October 20th:

This week the media is starting to realize that maybe Donald Trump has a chance of winning the presidency. Howard Kurtz is calling the turn. You will see a lot more stories and opinions along those lines, assuming Trump’s numbers stay strong.

But here’s the fun part: How do you write a story about Trump beating expectations without mentioning that one observer loudly predicted it in August and provided lots of details for how Trump is doing it?

Do you think no one noticed this blog? 🙂

Realistically, I don’t expect any professional journalists to say my Master Wizard Hypothesis is credible. To do so would not be a good career move for them. And it would also require accepting the painful idea that Trump is smarter than the people who have been publicly calling him an idiot. So this is the perfect set-up for cognitive dissonance. I predict you will see some new explanations for Trump’s success that are truly bizarre. Look for some sort of weird conspiracy theory to emerge. We saw the same thing when Obama made his unexpected run to the White House. Some folks figured he must be a Muslim sleeper cell. You will see similar whacky stuff emerge about Trump.

In addition to being the creator of the “Dilbert” comic strip, Scott Adams is also publishing a lot of blog articles on Donald Trump.

This whacky stuff was published in The Hill yesterday:

Bush suggests Trump dealing to help Clinton win

Jeb Bush on Tuesday questioned whether GOP presidential rival Donald Trump made a deal with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton to get elected to the White House.

“Maybe Donald negotiated a deal with his buddy @HillaryClinton. Continuing this path will put her in the White House,” the former Florida governor tweeted.

Back in 2008 Obama supporters were claiming that Hillary was only running to “kneecap” Obama so that McCain would win.

The Adams blog post today is funny, imo.

The latest Trump “scandal” is that he is being investigated for links to a felon!!!!11111

I wonder if that felon’ s name is Tony Rezko.

  4. DeniseVB says:

This is Hillary’s foreign policy too.

  5. threewickets says:

Truth about 2008 is that Obama was running for practice. Then the financial markets began to look bubbly in 2007 and kept getting worse. Obama had a legal background, but no experience in economics, business, finance, and Republicans like to leave the financial bailouts to Democrats. Anyway McCain leading after both conventions in September, then the Goldman-ites in Treasury, NYFed, Wall Street *cough* steward the crash and the rest is history. Wall Street couldn’t have a better puppet in the White House if they’d built one from scratch. 😉 It’s an amazing time to be rich in America. Middle-class, working-class, and especially the poor…not so much. Nation would never have allowed either McCain or Hillary to get away with so much growing economic inequality.

Hmmm, does it look like a ….. clock ?

During his interview with Trump last night – which was pretty good – Don Lemon said people from BOTH parties told him discreetly – off the record – that they WILL be voting for Trump & SUPPORT the temporary ban.

This could be turning into a landslide. 🙂

      Great link.
Reagan also wanted to ‘Make America Great Again’.
After Carter, America was starving for a leader.
The same thing is happening now.
Trump is not as eloquent as Reagan was, but the fire is there.

      • DeniseVB says:

Also, post-Obama world will be nothing like we’ve had before. I certainly don’t want Hillary to take over. Yoiks! I respect and admire the other GOP candidates (Zzzzzz), we need bombastic and drop the PC crap. Trump/Cruz !

Carter’s worst fault was malaise, but I never doubted he loved me and my country. Reagan was the antidote …. 40+ years ago, I worked on Carter’s first campaign, I still have my gold peanut necklace and it hasn’t turned green 😉

  10. Dora says:

I don’t know who he has running things for him, but what a ridiculous ad released from the Bush campaign. It starts off showing Trump sitting behind the desk. The Donald sure does look natural sitting there, doesn’t he? 🙂

  11. votermom says:

Wow, just checked my blog stats and my views shot up today! Cool.
    Dunno why.

  12. Myiq2xu says:

If Jeb was at 35% right now they’d tell everyone else to quit. Trump at 35% and they tell Trump to quit.

I’m sorry about that miserable headache. They are simply the worst when trying to get things done.
      p.s. my tree still isn’t up. 😦
But it will be by the end of the week. or I won’t have a tree….
      pps… I’m ordering again. 😉

    Donald Trump Haters

OK, you people really annoy me. Ace of Spades put it well when he said you are like a divorced man who is obsessed with his ex-wife. He thinks everything she does is awful, and he can’t stop talking about her to other people to try to get them to agree. Yes, Trump is crazy and awful. Granted. But screaming about it constantly makes you seem crazy, too. A friend of mine once wrote an essay about how a crazy man on the subway picked a fight with her. After a few stops, she realized that nobody on the subway car had witnessed the original altercation and that meant that nobody on the subway knew that he was crazy and she was not. It was even odds, at that point, which one was crazy. Maybe both were. That’s what you people remind me of all the time.

    • DeniseVB says:

Maybe I still have PTSD from 2008, I just don’t enjoy anybody talking smack about any candidate, I’d rather read about why they support who they do. I follow a lot of really smart conservative bloggers who are just mucking up my timeline with prog worthy attacks against the outsiders. Mollies right.

      • Myiq2xu says:

I have been critical of several candidates for various reasons, as well as their supporters, but I see no reason to just keep repeating the same crap over and over and over. Also, if you want to convince me that “X is a Y” (as in “Trump is a racist” or “Cruz is a fascist”) you need to offer evidence. Just repeating that “X is a Y” a few thousand times a day is not persuasive.

And your evidence needs to be self-evident, objective and factual, not someone’s subjective opinion or some ambiguous statement or action that needs to be decoded and interpreted. No dog whistles, statements out of context or similar bullshit.

  16. Dora says:

I can’t believe she had the nerve to say this.

    Hillary Clinton’s most repugnant lie

    • Somebody says:

I agree it is a repugnant lie. Those family members came out in the early days stating she told them those things, if she didn’t why has it taken her until now to claim otherwise? She lied to them to their faces to save Obama’s and her own ass. She lied repeatedly to the American public too, she can spew all the garbage she wants to Snugglepusslopoliss we know the truth.

I keep waiting and waiting and waiting for someone, anyone to call her on another lie she continues to tell about how those brave Libyans helped our ambassador. Once, just once I’d love for somebody to retort, “Was that before or after they drug him through the streets?”.

      • DeniseVB says:

We all heard the video blaming and the photo of the filmaker getting arrested. It was not a spontaneous demonstration and it was before an election. Now she’s blaming the Fog of War for her “mispeaking” ? B.S. She blamed the GOP for budget cuts for security, then it came out they didn’t cut embassy security, she was remodeling embassies and giving them shiny new green cars.

        And where’s the missing $6billion ?

    • leslie says:

My reply to this was that Snuffleupogus asked her about a “film” NOT about a “Video”.
She gets to parse words and say no. It was all a set up for her to be able to answer that way. Because “words matter”.
I’d bet the house on it.

      • leslie says:

        Back to ordering and decorating….

        • DeniseVB says:

We’re having springlike weather this week so am struggling to get into the Holly Jolly mode. Tree is done, told dh this year our theme is holiday minimalist 🙂

          • Somebody says:

Denise that is my theme this year too!!! I have the little ones to chase around every day and I am just not in the mood to put up tons of crap for them to destroy. I have a tree up with all non-breakable ornaments, tied on with silk ribbon instead of using hooks. I did take a chance and put a large reindeer figurine out by my front door. The reindeer I’ve had for 20+ years, through 3 kids of my own……lost his ear yesterday.

I did put up a decorated garland over the archway going into my formal living room. It’s 14 feet up in the air so I figure it’s safe from the little ones. I’m not going to put garland around my mantle though because it would most likely get torn up. I will gussy up my formal dining room, probably on Christmas Eve to be safe, but that’s all I’m doing this year.

True confession……I’m more looking forward to being “off work” from babysitting than I am looking forward to Christmas……I know, I’m a bad grandma. My son works for a college so he gets winter break off too. He does have to work the 21st and 22nd, but then he’s off until January 6th!!!! I am so looking forward to having two weeks off!!!

          • votermom says:

Somebody, you totally deserve that break!

          • leslie says:

Somebody, I know what you mean !! I only do the childcare 2-3 days each week. I can’t imagine doing as much as you. Some days I feel so OLD by lunch time, I don’t know how I make it to 6:00 on those days. You are truly a role model. (and quite possibly cray cray)LOL
My son and dil are both working in the public schools (teaching and social working) and are both off from the 21st until the 4th. The other grandma is going away the first week of 2016, so I’ll probably do 3 days that week.
Last year I pared down the over-the-top Christmas decs – to my kids’ dismay. I also took photos on my iPad so I didn’t have to improvise this year. It’s been helpful. But it is work. I’m still not done. I have one more room to go and then that’s it. Then to wrapping gifts and writing cards.

      • Somebody says:

OMG he said film? You’re probably right, of course it depends on the what the meaning of the word is, is.

    • driguana says:

The more I witness these kind of things, the more I realize that it doesn’t take “nerve” because viral lying is a strategy. These people know that if they say something that is a lie, it doesn’t matter. If it’s truly a lie and your regime likes it, it goes forward with gusto. If it backfires, they ignore it and, lo and behold, it dies out. Horrible strategy because low information people and sound-biters totally buy into it.

    • taw46 says:

Can’t believe I once wanted her to be President.

    • swanspirit says:

She repeated that lie standing next to their coffins. To deny it now, is just truly revulsive.

  17. jennifer lyn says:

Trump is real. We are real. Most politicians live in la la land with delusional liberals, angry black people, criminals and Hollywood. We really get up every morning and try to make a difference each day, we work, we pay our bills, we take care of our own, and we try to be a positive force for real. Our we perfect–no. But we try and our hearts are good. This is Trump, and this is why he will win. Cruz would be better but Trump will win UNLESS he quits and pushes Cruz into the presidency. In either case Trump is really who we want and need. A real person who cares and isn’t living in la la land

  18. Dora says:

Oh Dear. He is really being punished for speaking out. 😦

    Off Topic a little

my friend works in a hospital where they brought some of the wounded from the San Bernardino terror attack. She was under lockdown. Her brother-in law, whom I have met a few times,is a San Bernardo county law enforcement officer who was working the scene. One of the heroes who lost his life saving a woman was a friend of one of my conductor friends there. Even across the country there is hurt over the terrorist act.
Everyone seems to be so upset if muslims are insulted WHY? no outrage over their killing of Christians and Jews or any other religion. If I went to some of their countries, I could be beheaded. I am not muslim and I say what I think and I am female. When the world gets upset over these acts, then there should be upset over insulting muslims until then not so much

  20. lurker says:

BTW, why are ppl in UK upset about what Trump recommended for US? Could they be worried his thoughts are contagious?

This didn’t make national news ? Update on that Miami elementary school evacuation:

    • mothy67 says:

They blew it up but said there was no threat. Don’t know about you but I always dispose of pressure cookers near elementary school dumpsters. Maybe not a bomb but still an act of terrorism. Kids being evacuated? Hopefully they had cameras.

      • votermom says:

Last week the bomb squad blew up a suitcase that was chained to a pole in Pitt. Did you hear about that, Mothy?

        • mothy67 says:

No but it was big news that a cab driver claimed to be shot after picking up a fare outside the casino. Local press ran with the story that the guy questionned him about his religion, got to destination. Said he needed to go inside to get him money came out and shot him. He could not describe the guy. Did not know where he had taken him. Such bullshit there are so many cameras in and out of the casino. Everything is recorded. Story started to fall apart. Then it just disappeared. He was shot in the back. . I read about an incident with a cab driver in generic stories about backlash. The story made no sense the first time I heard it but local news ran with it as fact. Then gone. The guy was shot but the story does not add up.

      • DeniseVB says:

Pressure cookers are getting bum raps these days 😉 I guess I’ve watched too many breathless live reports on detonating all kinds of once harmless items that have being “profiled” now as a potential danger.

    Anyone see this

I can’t read the whole article because Breitbert freezes and shuts down, but what I gathered is that CAIR provides financial support to terrorists children. Breitbart, twitchy and Hot Air my tablet crashes.

Are you guys on a Mac or PC?

In either case, you might wish to try something like AdBlock. (It’s what I’m using on a Mac). SO many of the troubles I had with crashing browsers came from ads. Now, with AdBlock, I don’t see the ads AND my browser crashes have dropped probably 95%. Win/win!

        • helenk3 says:

I have that and ghostly. they work great

          • NewOrleans says:

I’ve never heard of that one. I’ll have to check into it. If it’s half as good as AdBlock, it’s worth having. Thanks, Helen!

        • leslie says:

Will give it a try. Thnx.

I have both but I use my kindle most often. I click on a drudge link and i see it is going to Breitbert i then just wait til it says silk browser is not responding. Close it and move on. Love my kindle. WEighs nothing. I always have a book on it. Travels well. Always have it on the bus. Carrying around a macbook is not an option. I love that cloud storage is free for all purchases from amazon. Apple charges you. Fire phone is not great but the camera is nice and all photo are saved free in cloud. Kid had an ulcer inher mouth which warrented billions of pictures that are beyond inane. Movies, tv shows, music books at no charge. I think breitbart has too many ads for a kindle

Wondering if your daughter has ever been to or heard of Conflict Kitchen. I kid you not it is a restaurant in Oakland that thinks art and “intellectual” conversation can end world strife. Progressives scare me in the vapid belief that they can change the world because they went to a Quaker school. Be kind love. They hate those that call out radical islam and excuse heinous acts. This place Conflict Kitchen thinks art can settle mideast conflict. Owned and run by a professor at CMU. I had a job in Philly in the late eighties I worked with Jon Rubin. He is now very respected and the owner. I have not been there in awhile but they served conflict food. Like ordering from a truck but with a waiter that wants to engage you in political issues. I only went once and it was Palestinian week. I did not engage but it seemed ver PC.

I think a lot will depend on what happens in the primaries. The GOPe is appalling, but are they totally suicidal? Do they think Trump isn’t onto every last one of their dirty tricks? If they try to deny him a nomination legally achieved via the primary process, do they honestly think he’ll go quietly?

      • mothy67 says:

I want to see him address Hillary and Benghazi in a debate. MSM has protected her lies. He will say loudly brashly did you tell the families it was about a video. He will destroy her and as a former supporter who fell for her facade I ache to see it crumble. She makes me sick.
