Brody File:

Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump’s Voters Have “relatively low information” And Are “not that engaged”

GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz tells The Brody File that the reason Donald Trump is performing well in the GOP race for president is because his voters are uninformed and not engaged in the process. “Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice. Where we are beating him is when voters’ get more engaged and they get more informed.”

I ain’t engaged right now but you never know, I might meet somebody. There’s a family reunion this summer.

So it turns out that Ted Cruz is one of those snooty elitist types too. I shoulda knowed, him with that big fancy “Ivy League” degree.

    • taw46 says:

And them fancy fellas he hangs around with: Neil Bush, Boyden Gray, Goldman Sachs. Just to name a few.

    • Jadzia says:

Ted Cruz’s intellectual arrogance is pretty much the ONLY thing that I know about him. I would say that I heard it from his friend, but said friend is far too discreet (and kind) to put that kind of truth in his mouth.

What pisses me off is when these idiots attack the voters.

    • swanspirit says:

How about that. Ted is another adherent of the basic Obama Doctrine, that being; I am the fairest best and brightest of them all, my magic mirror tells me so, And everyone else is just stupid, and nothing is ever my fault.

    Good interview.

WaPo doesn’t seem to realize the rules for protesting. They all know they were there to provoke and incite. Free speech zones are outside these venues for a reason. WaPo seems to be sending biased and anti-trump reporters to his rallies. See: Michelle Fields boyfriend.

      • taw46 says:

Another thing that pisses me off, they know people do not have a right to be at a PRIVATE event and can be removed at any time. But cover up that little fact.

    • Somebody says:

Find out this guy’s name, is he really a Trump supporter or is he a plant?

    • This is so ridiculous. Was it an over-reaction to a reporter potentially getting in candidate
s face? Sure. He should apologize. But trying to move someone aside is hardly the OMG ASSAULTED AND BEATEN TO THE GROUND LIKE A DOG! that the hysterics are painting it as.

Reporters get jostled and blocked and pushed aside all the time in crowd news situations. It’s nothing new. Grabbing her arm to pull her away was a step too far, but it’s hardly crime of the century.

      • Myiq2xu says:

They are trying really hard to gin up the “Trump and his supporters are fascists” narrative but they just don’t have the facts to back it up. It doesn’t help their cause that reporters and protesters are not highly esteemed in the first place.

    • Myiq2xu says:

This keeps getting better and better:

    • 1539days says:

This will be unpopular, surprise, but the Trump campaign treats the media poorly anyway. A frequent guest on Hannity’s radio show (and Hannity s pretty fair to Trump), Jamie Dupree, has said that Trump’s lack of access to reporters is now worse than Clinton’s. The excuse from the Trump campaign that they didn’t know she was a reporter from a sympathetic outlet smacks of the lapdog media sources Obama used during the 2008 general election.

As far as the incident itself, Breitbart is really digging a hole for themselves here. It looks like they’re either completely in the tank for Trump or they’re afraid of retribution if they’re not completely in the tank for Trump.

      • lyn says:

It’s a two-way street. Who is fomenting the Trump hate?

      • Myiq2xu says:

Where does it say that a candidate has to be nice to the media? Even elected officials have no duty to answer media questions.

OTOH, the media are free to say just about anything they want about politicians. Or they can say nothing at all.

  12. That Trump is a lunatic. I mean, COME ON.

    How cute. 🙂

  14. Never his fault. Ever.

  15. Evidently Fields claimed to have been beaten by cops at OWS, and also once claimed that Allen West “groped her.”

I have no idea what actually happened, but am remaining skeptical of this reporter at this point – or at least of the sensationalist way it’s all being spun.

  16. Yeah, this is looking more like a deliberate, coordinated drum-up of hysteria that Trump supporters are ZOMG VIOLENT NAZIS!

They are tweeting this around as “proof” that this guy “threatens” women. No, honey, he was pointing out that Megyn was the one who ended up looking like an ass and losing cred with the public after her attacks on Trump – and if she did it again, she’d get still more public blowback. That’s not a “threat”, dumbass. It’s your normal hardball politics.

  17. Myiq2xu says:

Bruises take a while to appear.

    • Myiq2xu says:

The tear was a nice touch. All those people around and nobody got any video? Even afterwards?

      • Somebody says:

Exactly all the media was there, yet no video……not even a tear filled interview after it happened, shocking.

    • Somebody says:

      Eyewitness account from her boyfriend.

    • Myiq2xu says:

Lewandowski, a former state public safety officer in New Hampshire (who once was arrested at the U.S. Capitol for bringing in a concealed pistol), has personally helped escort protesters out of rallies — some of whom have found themselves pushed or confronted by angry Trump fans. Members of the press have shown up to events only to find themselves not allowed in, or not allowed out of their proscribed areas, and frequently mocked and derided by Trump supporters and by Trump himself.

Oh yeah, that seems fair and objective.

    • 49erDweet says:

  18. The fact that so many on right (and moderates) find this kind of hyperbole horrifying and chilling is why the far left has trampled on us all unopposed, for years. They LIVE on intimidation tactics.

I’m sorry, but if you watched the outright violence, looting, burning, bullying, etc that has gone on for last few years and still have a MAJOR fainting spell over any sort of in-kind pushback, even verbally, then you are part of the problem.

We are not dealing with a poltical debate here, people. We are dealing with bullies who have no qualms about getting physical and threatening themselves. So I’m not going to cry foul every time one of mine punches one of theirs in the nose – bullies need that to happen.

I wish that wasn’t true. I wish we were all still having nice political debates. But we aren’t. And acting as if we are while the left goes to war is not gonna cut it.

    • Somebody says:

What do we know about the man that punched the protester?

Do we know his name? If we do, let’s do a little digging quickly before it is all erased. He may well have been a plant to further a media narrative about Trump supporters.

    • Myiq2xu says:

Every Trump rally for the past two months has had protesters show up. How many of those protesters was verifiably been punched? We hear about them being pushed, shoved, “manhandled” and “roughed up” but how many needed medical attention?

If I went to a Hillary rally waving a Trump sign I would expect to get tossed out and I would not be surprised if people yelled a few mean things at me. If I was told to leave and didn’t go I would expect to get manhandled and possibly arrested.

If I went to a BLM protest wearing that same shirt my life would be in danger.

      • Exactly. I’m not saying “sure, go ahead and brawl with and beat up protestors”. Not at all. But the concern trolling as if this is some sort of INEXPLICABLE VIOLENCE is bullshit. Has anyone even bothered to ask what the BLM protestor was yelling at those people before the guy clocked him one? Might not make it right, but it might shed light on what happened.

As you said, if I wore a Trump shirt, or carried an “all lives matter” sign into many, many rallies and began posturing in people’s faces and belligerently interrupting, I’d be lucky to get out with no broken bones.

I don’t want ANYONE to get hurt, but “Don’t start none, won’t be none” is pretty normal human behavior. Acting like it’s only a mortal sin when *some* do it is getting old.

        • taw46 says:

On his interview on MSNBC the protester said he was sitting about 16 rows away. But if you look at the video, the police are bringing them out of a row that looks to be about two down from the man. So whatever was said, he probably heard it. And as the protester comes out and up the aisle, he is flipping off the audience with both hands. And the man only goes after him, not the others.

Also, an earlier report said the protester went with 3 friends, one a gay and one a Muslim. And that the Muslim girl was screaming out, but he never repeated what she said. They went to protest, not to see Trump.

I do not want fights, either, don’t want people punching each other for things said. But for gosh sakes, media, please report behavior of other side. They never do, and I am sick of it all.

          • Myiq2xu says:

I am a SFGiants fan. If I went to Dodger stadium wearing my SFG hat and shirt and looking for trouble I’m sure I would have no trouble finding it. On the other hand, if I just went there to watch the game and behaved myself, I might encounter a few rude comments and gestures but I would probably be safe.

  21. taw46 says:

Well, at least we know the theme of tonight’s debate. Mr Trump, given the violence of your staff and your supporters, encouraged by you, do you really think you are ready to be President of the United States?

    • taw46 says:

And tell us how you are different from Hitler, and why your supporters are not Nazis?

    • DeniseVB says:

Thinking his debate prep probably includes rapid fire stupid stuff, watch the mods ask him to name all the foreign leaders in the middle east. 😉

      • taw46 says:

This protester punched story has been constantly on MSNBC today, sure the others as well. They interviewed the protester and everyone else who wants to come on and talk about how violent Trump’s events are, so guess next we will be discussing how to shut down his events. Just ridiculous.

Since I don’t do the twitter thing, I wonder if someone here could be so kind to tweet dear Ted that because I’m so stoopid and unengaged, I’ll have to pull the lever for Trump instead of Cruz…idiot. I have done my best to stomach his campaigns crap for months now, but this kind of represents the breaking point. My husband is all in for Trump, I’m open. Granted, my husband has been known to be pretty stupid – he voted for Obama, once – but you know how that is…you can call them stupid but you don’t really want to hear it from anyone else.

Lyn..just read your comments about Tumeric on the previous thread. I wanted to tell you that my brother had stage four Melanoma about five years ago. He went through years of chemo and almost died a few times, but begin taking Tumeric after the last chemo treatment and still takes about 500 mgms a day. Not saying that cured him, but he really thinks it helps..plus he says you have to take it with bioperrin to help it work. I’m just glad he is still here, whatever helps.

      • lyn says:

Wow–that’s great about your brother, Kathy. The brand I use also has the black pepper in it.

Two stories on Drudge about how blue collar dems are going for Trump. I think we may need to take decicive action to protect the pundit class. Remove sll sharp objects, safery gates cabinet locks. These pimples are fools. I ride the bus people are always talking about Trump. It speaks to the pulse of the nation when you you can discern politics on a bus. It is very similar to the day after a football game. We are talking about Pittsburgh. Steelers fans are devout. A Monday morning bus ride has religious fervor. Everyone is talking to everyone. I live fairly close to the city so there are a lot of professionals but there is also a methadone clinic on the way. Most mornings people are reserved. Not after a game. Everyone is talking. There are no class/race/gender distinctions. It is actually very cool to watch. So much animation at 7 am on a Monday. Same thing happens with Trump. He is often called “My n word” affectionately. People get a kick out of him. Real people. Not clueless talking heads. The Megyn Kelley Rosie line was a crowd pleaser. I read an article like those on Drudge today and I am shocked by how clueless the writer’s are. Working class does not equal stupid. Regular Joe s not a hate filled racist/homophobic/misogynist. That is snotty media. If I am near downtown in the early morning and it start to rain I head to Jack’s on the Southside. Many labor and construction jobs shut down in bad weather. They still have to show up. Boss makes the call although there are some union standards. They get paid half a dy and go to dive bar. I could sit ll day and listen. There is so much laughter. They often talk politics. Those guys care about illegal immigration. My little brother is boilermaker. I have no idea what that means. I suppose he sits around and mkes boils. Pretty gross job if you ask me. It is feast or famine. When there’s work he mkes obscene money. Like supermodel stupid bank. Then he can go weeks or months without job. Did not know this when he is working he pays for the health insurance of those not working. I guess there is little need to make boils in Enid. Guy there gets his insurance paid even if he only works one week a year. There is something fundamentally wrong with my grey matter. My baby bro is a boilermaker. I went to Purdue Boilermakers nd I have no ide what he does.
They all be being plenty pissed. There is only so much work nd it takes years to get into the union. They are pushing hard to bring in illegals. My brother spent years getting all his certs Cost ton of money. They are pushing to let illegals skip the process. Wow you should hear the rage

Am I just getting too picky with age?
I went to get an iced coffee. One employee. 6 people in line. I have owned small businesses. I know what a dent labor is but its the price of doing business. Poor young woman had to make all those complex drinks. I was annoyed. Who wants to wait 15 minutes for coffee? I am to dumb to make my own iced coffee. So I go next door to order SPring Rolls from the Chinese. Young girl takes a huge box out of the freezer sets it in front of me. Big box has a Sam’s Club sticker on it with her bare hands she grabbed four of them. I am not completely delusional. I didn’t think they made them fresh but I don’t want to see I am being ripped off. I’m not squeamish about her using her ungloved hand, but some people are. When you run a restaurant you’d think keeping an eye on food standards might be somewhat important.

A few months ago I bought a dishwasher. I am to vapid to make iced coffee so I paid the 150 for installation. Also the county charged 20 dollars for pro installation. What a crock of shit. I am still coming to terms with paying tax on tax. A pack of smokes cost about a dollar everything else is tax. So when I buy a 10 pack I pay 10.80 because I pay tax on tax.. anyhow I live in a yuuuge majestic palace so I was unaware that my dishwasher was leaking. The domestics don’t speak English so i had no clue. Honestly the dishwasher is above the washer. I never run them at same time. I only saw it because my heavily medicated dog had her deer friends over for a play date. She is nuts. He uffers from acute anxiety. She wears a comfort jacket and takes meds. She gets so excited she hurts herself. She broke her tail. The meds are so she does not have a heart attack. She plays with the bunny first thing every morning. All the kids know when they come over to walk in and face the wall give her a few minutes to calm down. Somehow she is besties with deer they hang out with her. She barks at everything. It’s basically look at me I?m pretty. She does not bark when the deer drop by. Very odd animal. She has never been struck here but she is a rescue dog. Shayla Rayne picked her out. She was kept away from every other pet. Had been returned thrice. Only one Shay wanted. I in spite of myself I adore her. I am constantly yelling Bella. 10 maybe 20 times a day. Wierd thing is I think she was beaten with a broom. I pick one up to sweep and she cowers. It took me almost 3 years to discover that. That’s about how often I sweep. Toss off I have a roomba. She is terrified of a broom. I could never use it as a control tactic because sheis so afraid. I mean she shakes and pees on the spot. I think it so disgusting that someone could beat a puppy. Reason number 1 billion why I will never let brat suffer. I guess ten years ago my sister went off with a guy. Left her son a house. He was 19 screwed it all up. We went into do clean up. A dog had been locked up in the basement for days he had just left her alon to die. She was fucking lactating. I get so much shit from extended family. It’s his kid. I cannot live if I do not fight for her. My sister and her latest husband said we did our part the kids arevon their own it is time for us to enjoy life. I cannot touch that. I am self centered great gay uncle. I am the worst person I know. I bought her for Easter an 88 key keyboard. I can hear her playing. My nose starts to run and I shudder. Stuff comes out of my most amazing blue eyes in the history of the planet. I yell baby at the top of my lungs from my cave. She says what? Irespond I do not hate you. She yells back good because I love you. I say less she says more I say less than less she says more than more. I then say glad we leave it there.
Anyhow I saw Bella with her deer friends and went to look. My dishwasher was pouring into my basement sink. Pipes were not connected. Lowe’s was very good about repairs. It was a very big fuck up. I had a little floor repair. I was lucky I saw it. He did not connect two pipes.
My other compaint was during that blizzard. I had a package due. USPS said it was out for delivery. We now have a problem with stolen packages. I sat around all day waiting. I think its stupid to force postal workers to deliver in bad weather. I was not waiting for a kidney. One day later was not an issue. Problem is it was not cheap and people are stealing packages. I waited all day but the tracking said it was delivered. We got about 8 inches. My neighbor to the left is inbFlorida to the right a vacant apartment whose owner asked me to collect the junk mail. So I ask my carrier website says this was delivered yesterday. He looked me in the face and said no just got it today. I said did you deliver mail yesterday. He again lookedbme in the face and said yes. We got 6 inches there were no footprints all the way up my hill. I am not going to complain but the postal workers once stood for something
