You can watch the first season of Outlander for free until April 10. http://www.starz.com/originals/outlander/episodes

    • leslie says:

      Wow and thanks.
      How did you find that?

    • mothy67, says:

hbo now offers a free month. You have to have Prime, Apple or some other account. It’s like netflix. I am binging Game of Thrones.

      Oh and it’s freaking snowing.

      • swanspirit says:

Noooooo not the S word no! Hopefully it will all melt.
! It is chilly here, in the 40’s overcast and going to rain. I want to be getting flower beds ready.
        Happy Day Before Spring!

      • mothy67, says:

I was wrong I don’t think you need an account elsewhere I just signed up through amazon so it’s auto pay through them

        • leslie says:

Is that the same way you get Showtime, mothy?

        • Somebody says:

Yes Tim when did you say is the best time to try a free month of showtime or HBO?

Hubby and I want to see The Circus, but I told him you and someone else here at TCH had a strategy for waiting and getting a free month at the end of the season I think so you can binge watch all of the episodes.

          • mothy67, says:

If you wait til the end of the season and sign up you can binge and cancel. I’m going to keep HBO NOW. Most choices. If you have Prime you can do a free trial of starz and Showtime, but if you like Homeland wait until the end of the season and try it. Hopefully the offer will still be valid. If not it’s 9 to watch the whole season and everything else they have.

          • mothy67, says:

I also think when you go through Amazon yout bill is every 30 days not by month like on cable bill.

Early Spring. Ah, it sounds so nice. Unfortunately, Long Island is getting snow tomorrow. I guess it will be winter’s farewell. 🙂

It looks like the bakers are joining the other loonies in NYC. They are selling these donuts for $9 each and donating the profits to the New York Immigration Coalition.

NYC Vegans Selling “Donald Trump Getting Punched In The Face” Donuts

    • Somebody says:

Can you imagine the outcry if someone made Hillary or Obama donuts like that?

The only other politician I think you could get away with would be Sarah Palin.

    • taw46 says:

Here we go again, just look at this comment. Same attitude discussed in last post.

“Another thing you are forgetting: Donald Trump’s primary target are not well educated middle class big city types like us. His primary target are minorities and immigrants who weren’t given the opportunities we have been given, and they may not have at their disposal the means to respond from an intellectual (or even emotional) higher ground. Therefore, they have FULL RIGHT to respond by disrupting his rallies and getting physical when attacked. You and I have no RIGHT to tell THEM that they are giving a BAD FACE to US.”

      • swanspirit says:

Actually, it is the opposite. People have a responsibility to let everyone know violence is not acceptable. This is tantamount to saying ,those poor ignorant folks can do our dirty work for us, because they don’t know any better.
        What’s giant load of crapitude.

    • Anthony says:

I’ll have to swing by Penn Station later and kick over their little stand

  5. Somebody says:

There is a guy on twitter named DJ Lewis. He supposedly is a supervisor with Reuters and he is claiming that he has information about a Caryns family, Jim, Mickie, Lisa, Cindy and Casey who said they were paid $1,000 each supposedly by Romney to protest last night in SLC.

If these people are willing to step forward and/or if they have legitimate proof……major story and most likely a game changer.

I will preface this with, anybody can say anything on the internet or twitter so I’ll wait and see what manifests.

  6. lyn says:

I know most people arrived early, but the intolerants are blocking the road to Trump’s AZ rally.

  7. lyn says:

Three were arrested and the protesters are now moving back into their cars. What pussies!

Thank you George Soros for making Trump the international symbol for free speech.

  13. kanaughty says:

i don’t think GOPe or dems realize that what trump knows, that any business person, or even celebrity knows, is THAT ANY PRESS IS GOOD PRESS.

and he is getting a hell of a lot of it.

the more they all fight him, the more people see him in the media and then want to vote for him. those against him are losing this fight. they probably should have done the complete opposite strategy of ignoring him all along.

  14. kanaughty says:

the street blockers bug the hell out of me. makes me resent their cause more than empathize for any of them. they are nothing but selfish and i hope all of them go to jail and get their cars towed, because money and court time might make them think differently about pulling this crap again.

  15. kanaughty says:

btw, i am loving donald trump junior in his “the circus” appearance in elko where he talks about being a hunter himself and how san bernardino and paris would have been stopped sooner if law abiding citizens could have been carrying too and maybe stopping these guys.

  17. Myiq2xu™ says:

I broke my last New Year’s resolution last night. I did so reluctantly.

I resolved not to kill any more possums. Live and let live. I would chase them away but not hurt them.

I’ve been seeing a possum out back for a couple weeks. This one was particularly ugly and stupid. I shooed it away several times. Let’s call him “Pogo”.

Last night Pogo got into a fight/argument with Tucker. He wanted to come inside. Pogo was in his way. Tucker was snarling. Pogo was hissing and showing off his mouthful of teeth. Larry (the orange vagabond cat that begs for food) was sitting on the shelf under the patio window. Taggart was standing behind me peering around my legs.

I yelled at Pogo but he didn’t budge. I was literally standing inside the patio door and he was two feet away. Then he hissed at me. Big mistake. Yuuge.

I reached for my trusty old possum thumper. It’s been sitting just outside the patio door since last fall. It is a broken shovel handle that had the spade end sawed off so that it is a solid piece of wood about 4 feet long. The sawed off end is stained a dark reddish-brown from some unknown substance.

I grabbed Thumper with my left hand and leaned out the door. I slowly raised Thumper over my head and the gave Pogo a whack on the head. Tucker jumped back. Larry fled the scene. Pogo fell over twitching.

Any zombie killer will tell you that a double-tap is essential to make sure the zombie stays dead. You shoot the zombie, the zombie falls to the ground, then you take careful aim and shoot the zombie in the head. Tap – tap.

I was using a blunt instrument, so just to be sure I gave Pogo a dozen-tap while screaming “HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?.” then I remembered it was 1:30 in the morning. When my arms got tired and I was out of breath I stopped. Pogo wasn’t moving and was bleeding from at least 2-3 places. So I told the cats to stay back and ran to find a bucket.

It was an empty 5 gallon cat litter bucket that I was saving for something else. I put on gloves, grabbed the bucket and went back to the scene of the crime. Pogo still wasn’t moving, which didn’t surprise me. I don’t think I would have survived the beating I gave to Pogo.

I nudged Pogo with Thumper. Nothing. So I reached down and grabbed Pogo by the tail and put him into the bucket. His tail was hanging over the side. Then I noticed the blood. I figured I better clean it up before the cats decided to play in it or something. I grabbed the hose and started spraying off the patio.

Just as I finished rinsing away the evidence I noticed that Pogo’s tail was twitching. That’s not unusual in freshly dead animals, but just to be sure I stuck the hose into the bucket to drown Pogo.

The cold water woke him up. (I may have screamed like a girl.)

I slammed the lid onto the bucket. It was only half-full of water and Pogo was thrashing around and making noises. I put a concrete block on the bucket to keep the lid on. Pogo was still making a racket. Eventually, I ended up putting the bucket and the brick in my big green garbage can. I figured that if Pogo escaped from the bucket he still couldn’t get out of the can.

I went to check on Pogo a little while ago. Everything was exactly how I left it except Pogo wasn’t making any noise.

I am afraid to open the bucket.

Last night at 3 am I found a raccoon standing on my kitchen counter. I am not liking raccoons as much as I used to.

        • Myiq2xu™ says:

I was leaving the kitchen/patio window open enough for the cats. I don’t have a pet door. The window is hard to reach from the outside (for a human) and there is a sturdy rod keeping the window from being opened any further. I didn’t think a raccoon could make it thru the opening. Obviously. I was wrong.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

Speaking of pests, the old widow next door caught me in the open when I mowed the front yard. So then I had to talk to her for 20 minutes. The only thing of interest she had to say was that Tigger has been hanging out at her house. He just showed up and made himself at home. “He’s very friendly” she told me.

I have suspected that Tigger was cheating on me with at least one of my neighbors. He disappears for long periods and occasionally brings back plush toys. I wonder what he steals from me to give to them.

      • leslie says:

Ya think the raccoon is Pogo reincarnated?

    • Anthony says:

Don’t open it. Just bury it. Trust me, I know about these things…

When I first got my “fair weather home” upstate, I invited everyone for a weekend. I was running out of booze, and carrying the last pitcher of margaritas across the yard to the picnic area, and saw what I thought was a dead animal. I was later informed that it was a possum (yes, they DO play dead).

I got about a foot away from it and didn’t the little bastard jump up brandishing a mouthful of teeth that looked like Godzilla… I clocked it with the margaritas, and it ran away. Then I stared licking the grass because the tequila was gone.

    • DandyTIger says:

I’ve run into a few of those guys. I have an RWS 1000fps pellet rifle for just such occasions. Doesn’t make much noise, pretty much the same effect as a 22 rifle. Works wonders.

There was a video posted somewhere last week and I thought it might have been here at TCH but I can’t seem to find it. It was an interviewer asking some of the anti-Trump demonstrators in Chicago who said: “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”. The answers were hilarious. I need to find it again. Help!!

  28. WMCB says:

Legalities aside, my view on protest vs violence is mostly this:

If you are just marching peacefully with signs or whatever, not trying outright to disrupt or drown out speech, you ought to be left alone.

If you instigated by getting all up in people’s faces screaming insults at them, I don’t really feel bad for you if you get the crap knocked out of you. Sorry, but I don’t.

    • lyn says:

      Sounds reasonable!

    • WMCB says:

I mean, the person who hit you may or may not still need to go to jail. But don’t ask me to cry for your little punk ass.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

It’s like people who talk shit to cops. Yeah, it’s legal, and the cops are supposed to ignore it. But if you start mouthing off and end up in jail, don’t call me to come bail you out.

        • Myiq2xu™ says:

If a teenaged girl goes hitchhiking by herself, that doesn’t mean she’s asking to get raped and murdered. But if she wants to stay unraped and unmurdered, hitchhiking is contraindicated.

        • taw46 says:

Yes, and I really hate the ones who get right in the face of the cops, nose to nose, and spew that crap. Why can’t they arrest them, why do they have to take it?

          • WMCB says:

Same with protestors and bystanders. Hollering from across the street is one thing. Hollering a foot from someone’s face? Prepare to get cold-cocked.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

Don’t start trouble, won’t be none.

      • WMCB says:

Exactly. And it’s swung so far the other direction ( people just expected to have to sit there and take it, cops doing nothing, while some vulgar child screams insults at them), that there is a real reaction to that building.

If someone had reined in these out-of-control abusive “protestors” long ago, we’d not be having these probs.

    • taw46 says:

      Works for me.

  29. WMCB says:

People actually at the rally are sayng the protestor dude in a KLAN HOOD made the mistake of getting all up in the face of a black Trump supporter. Going to jail? Yep. Do I feel sorry for Klan hood dude? Nope. Nor for little miss white smartass entitled college student in the other klan hood (that she whipped off real quick when saw the ass-whooping occurring.)
