Springtime With Lilybug

This will be Lily’s first Spring/Summer where she really gets to explore “outside”. She’s basically been cooped up indoors, carried or sitting in a stroller or car seat since she learned to walk.

This is an open thread.

I’m starting to go thru the links on the sidebar. Can I delete those I don’t like?

  2. Myiq2xu™ says:

After tossing and turning all night I’ve pretty much been asleep since dawn. What did I miss?

    • DeniseVB says:

Venus’ bitchslap at Amanda Carpenter on Twitter was pretty awesome.

The Obama family and their entourage left for Cuba. I only wish the headlines would read “Obama family exiled to Cuba to avoid prosecution from Hillary Clinton’s plea bargain with the FBI”

  3. WMCB says:

Must watch video. This guy is not a Trump supporter, but by the end was surprised that the entire stadium did not erupt in a massive-asskicking, so hateful and out-of-control are these “protestors”

    • leslie says:

Thank you for posting this. I tried and tried to watch it at Breitbart but could not. The connection kept shutting down.
It was well worth watching. 🙂

    From Hoosier Mommy:

As I wipe up cupcake crumbs and pick up a hostess wrapper:
    “Con, I said no cupcakes.”
    “I didn’t have one.”
“You left the wrapper out. For a cupcake.”
“Oh, that. Well, it didn’t look like a cupcake, so I didn’t know what it was.”

  5. Dora says:

    Happy Tenth Birthday Barron Trump!

I love the socks, and I see “jellies” are making a come back. She’s a little fashionista.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

She has a pretty impressive wardrobe. Between the number or outfits she has and how quickly she is growing she doesn’t get to wear any one outfit too often.

Her mom is well connected with the “hand-me-down/hand-me-around” circuit.

  7. leslie says:

Anytime I see pundits, commentators and TV hosts talking about the candidacy of Trump I think of this:

“”First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

    – Mahatma Gandhi
I’m not comparing him to Gandhi; I am saying that people tried ignoring him after laughing at him and his campaign, now they are fighting him, his followers, and his campaign. At some time, he will win and then what…

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

A Trump/Cruz alliance makes a lot of sense, but they shouldn’t announce it yet. If Cruz is the VP he is automatically next in line regardless if Trump wins or loses. And if Trump wins Cruz can still accept a SCOTUS appt, which is really where he belongs anyway.

      • DeniseVB says:

Kasich’s really getting beat up (Twitter style) by the Cruz supporters for staying in with no chance of winning. It’s a nice break really🙂

      • 1539days says:

Cruz getting on the Supreme Court would get me to vote for Trump.

        • DeniseVB says:

Trump/Cruz would still be pretty tasty to me. Such a deep bench on the GOP side, I have so many favorite picks for SCOTUS and AG. Guiliani, Christie, Judge Jeanine, Gowdy for starters, all straight shooters🙂 I can see Trump picking a Team of Rivals too, like Cory Booker for HUD, he did wonderful things for Newark and I can see him driving snowplows in DC to get those lazy feds to work. Sigh, Fantasy Federal Football, fun game!

          • Myiq2xu™ says:

On SCOTUS Cruz would be set for life. He would never have to run for office again. He could ignore polls. He’s not likely to do something to get impeached.

He could let his freak flag fly for forty years.

    • 1539days says:

The GOPe treated Cruz much worse than Trump ever did.

      • DeniseVB says:

Cruz and Trump teamed up for a Capitol Hill rally against the Iran “Deal”. It’s when I first saw the body language of “coalition”. Since Walker had dropped out, it was my new go to team.

  8. DeniseVB says:

In honor of Miss Lily, here’s a whole field of them❤

    • Awwwww. You are so sweet, Denise!

      • DeniseVB says:

Yes, yes I am.😛 Btw, I’m using my Go Trump to reply “sweetly” to public news sites on FB just to avoid my personal time line. Just an experiment, but if someone clicks on the avatar, it takes them to the Go Trump page. So I may reinstate WaPo,NYDN and NYT to my news feed. Like shooting fish in a barrel. I may add Hot Air and Redstate back too. So fun.

Cruz is going to regret the day Beck endorsed him. As a former fan of Beck, I still can’t figure out how he went so negative on Sarah. I mean, anyone who hates Sarah has to be mental. Though Sarah endorsed Trump, I trust her gut feeling more than an attention seeking radio host.

    Happy Spring to all…

    the vernal equinox

on the first day of Spring
we burn the branches of the Yule fir
the steadfast pine that brought us winter
and becomes the daring harbinger of shift
a practice that our grandmother taught us
long ago and far away in the garden we grew together in
a remembrance from old Teutonic times
that somehow still resides in our star crossed genes
    and infinite bloodline gifts

    lighting the aromatic sprigs
with a spark of new intention
ignites a spiraling wisp of smoldering greens
that meanders its way up to the morning lunar melt
    and glaring solar shifts
    that stare upon this morning
of yet another change in the daily chapters
    still yearning to be read

the insect eyes and birding dreams
    alight along the flames
as the little beasts of night and day
assemble to watch the animistic rituals
and listen to the timely chants
    and monotheistic prayer calls
as they know what’s up and still ahead
and what goes down on days like this
for they’ve been abuzz and singing all along
as the daffodils nod their heads
and bud into the surging song

so once again as if it were a deified plan
    we shift the planet gears
    from winter’s bare necessities
to the warming of the embers
now hissing their siren songs that swirl above

melding as if it were an ancient rhyme
into the morning church bell chimes
that call the angelic spirits to us
    to come gather round
    the soaring fire
    that greets the vernal equinox
    now springing from the ground

I met a few ladies like that when I was campaigning for Hillary in 2008. But Hillary sold out to Obama, and now they’re dead.

      • DeniseVB says:

I will never forgive Hillary 2.008 for selling out. She would have grown more staying in the Senate, she would have led a serious PUMA movement. She fooked us. Hard. She’s just flailing and pandering now, I’m so embarrassed for her. Especially that the older socialist and his supporters are still nipping as her heels. Not to mention, she was a miserable failure as SoS. H/T Carly “flying is an activity, not an accomplishment”

The dead can still vote Dem, elliesmom. They’ll be there

Have half heartedly looked to find out where Clint’s event with DJT is being held this weekend but pretty much assume it’s in SoCal. Still run into him shopping once in awhile. He drives a beater wben he’s here, and just blends into the Monterey-Carmel area traffic.

Who would have thought that in 2016 in America a candidate running for president would have his son’s life threatened because some of his campaign platforms include making America great, bringing jobs back, enforcing immigration laws, and getting rid of corruption? It makes me wonder if we have all lost our minds–remember the ending of 1984?
Whole thing smacks of fascism. I can’t put my sign up for Trump or wear a Trump button without putting my life at risk. UNBELIEVABLE. But you know what, I can still vote for him. A VOTE FOR TRUMP IS A VOTE FOR A GREAT AMERICA, AGAIN.
Nobama is in Cuba where people are kept as slaves by an oppressive government being driven around in luxury limos on our dime and one of my many questions is WHERE ARE THE EGGHEADS PROTESTING NOBAMA PARTYING WITH CASTRO? Castro certainly doesn’t meet the minimum standards of the leftards as far as free money, free phones, etc., etc. My god I bet Castro despises gay people and hates black too🙂

Baby girl had a fever so I walked up the street to buy her a smoothie. Big line so I left sent to local bar bought two six packs to go. I had 25 in cash. I tipped three on 20. I put the two into poker machine played all 8. Five of a kind. I played around for a few minutes and then on a 6 bet I got a royal straight flush. Those games are for entertainment only. I did not walk out with 750 two six packs and a 100 dollar tip.
Tops 15 minutes i go back to coffee shop. No line. Crud had a fever she wanted a strawberry smoothie. No strawberries. I said fine something berry but I want a dome top with whipped cream. Out of whipped cream. I said fine can I leave my bags here. The grocery storeis literally three doors away. I go back to the coffee shop. According to the manager I committed a crime by leaving two six packs on a table while I went to buy reddi whip. I asked the young lady behind the counter if I could leave my bags. She said sure. Reddi Whip was 2 for 5. I bought 4. I was going to leave one. The manager was so concerned about two six packs of Yuengling Lager in broown bags sitting on a table. 30 minutes before 11 people were in line no manager to be seen. He actually asked me how was he to know that it wasn’t a drug drop. I buy beer order 6 dollar frozen bullshit leave beer on table while I buy whipped cream. My drug mules sneak in and sell the beers on the street.
He did give in but how dumb can people be?0″

Yes it is a very interesting read. It should be dropped onto the crowd via drones at Sanders rallies, just to let them know that Democratic Socialism is nothing new. If they want to know how their ‘revolution’ will unfold, all they have to do is look to New Zealand, where that brand of government has been in effect since the 1930’s

“Contrary to opinion, leftism isn’t just about hate. Leftists are more complex than that. From my time as a red diaper leftist, I can tell you that a whole range of emotions are involved. Hate, anger, fear, bitterness, jealousy, envy, rage, greed, pride, smugness and paranoia (not technically an emotion, but it is widespread among leftists).

With such a parade of negative emotions, it is no surprise that so many leftists suffer from chronic depression, often from a young age. Even if they lose the anger, they still retain the attitude: that the government must fix everyone’s problems, regardless of cost and that there is an enormous right-wing conspiracy that is just around the corner.
