  1. Jadzia says:

    Okay, I’ll start.

Thought #1: Now we really ARE at war. This must be retribution for the arrest.

Thought #2: Salah Abdeslam backed out of the attack at the Paris stade; maybe his bros decided to attack ASAP before he starts to sing like a canary.

Thought #3: Perhaps this attack is intended to send the message that arresting one or two guys doesn’t matter–we’re always going to be playing whack-a-mole.

Thought #4: Europe is so small. My sister-in-law is Belgian. My ex-boyfriend works for the EU up there. One of my students is from Mali. Just last night, my 10-year-old told me that he wanted Brussels to be the next place we go. (Sorry, kid.)

  2. votermom says:

I have no idea which part of the airport that is – just grabbed a photo from the internet.

    • elliesmom says:

      Looks like a check-in area.

    • taw46 says:

They said it was entrance to airport for departures, people lined up for different airlines.

      • Lulu says:

It was the American Airlines counter and near the Starbucks. I read that super early this morning before the media scrubbed it. Like some old general said this morning it was symbolic targets at the US and the EU. The metro station is supposedly near the US embassy and EU parliament and full of their workers. And I agree with Jadzia that they hit before they could get much info from the moron they picked up last week. After Paris his ex-wife said he is a dumbass and loser so he will sing like a bird.

        • votermom says:

AA is denying that it was near their counter.
No idea who to believe anymore.

          • Lulu says:

Yeah, well, a guy near the explosion said it was on France 24 (in the wee hours here in the US) said it was. I saw him live. As usual the media and Obama Adm don’t want it to look like terrorism or that it was directed at the US or the EU specifically which of course it was.

          • Jadzia says:

I saw AA making SUCH a big deal about it (probably later than you guys saw it; i’ve been teaching all day so kind of cut off) that I assumed that it was, as they say, protesting too much.

          • DeniseVB says:

Intelligence updated that the targeted area was just the most crowded check-in line, not a particular airline(or country). I’m sure AA was sweating meatballs if the public thought they were being targeted, in fact AA was certain it was Delta (snort). Security tapes revealed the explosions at the most crowded parts of that area at that time.

        • leslie says:

Just found a report on the Telegraph re: the AA and Starbucks locations vis a vis the bombing suspect. I can’t give you a link, but the report is entitled, “How the Brussels attacks unfolded at the airport and on the metro”

          • lyn says:

The flight at that time was going to Pennsylvania, so people checked in their bags and then went to get coffee at Starbucks. Americans were the target. This info was from the radio interview that cynic posted.

        • Jadzia says:

The other thing is that I think it’s fair to say that Brussels is an even more “cosmopolitan,” international city than Paris. It is basically the capital of Europe. The tweets, etc. that I am seeing about people who were hurt or killed–so many nationalities. There’s a symbolism in that.

          • DeniseVB says:

I heard one pundit explain Brussels is pretty much the Capitol of Europe, so it’s like attacking the National Mall in DC, between the Capitol building and the White House.

Spring Break season does bring many nationalities to the world Capitols. And it’s Holy Week in the Christian world, I guess those ratfu*kers are promised double the virgins this week. Duly noted: The Pope hasn’t torn down the Vatican’s Wall 😉

          • Jadzia says:

No kidding. I’m a little nervous about this upcoming trip, but figure the security at the Vatican is pretty darned good.

      • leslie says:

FBN reported that the AA sign was visible in the background, thus giving some indication that the US was also a symbolic target.

    • blowme0bama says:

Nothing will. Citizens will start to take matters into their own hands because their betters aren’t protecting them.

The European governments will fire on their own citizens before they’ll admit mistake and do what needs to be done.

It is for the benefit of ONE group, that we have this monstrously intrusive domestic spying agency known as DHS and we suffer through ridiculous searches and precautions prior to travel. God knows how much money we pay out to protect the rest of us from this one group. They need to be sent home.

    • Jadzia says:

Europeans are not asleep to this threat. Our governments are.

      • Jadzia says:

Although okay, I have seen my share of moonbat social workers on the news every week or so crying about how we need to “help” these poor wayward fighting-age single men. But normal people? WE GET IT.

  4. Myiq2xu™ says:

    • taw46 says:

MSNBC was already blaming him this morning. Brian Williams on with Malcolm Nance and Richard Engles, saying his rhetoric was demonizing Muslims who are peaceful people. They went crazy when he said authorities need to do whatever it takes to get information from terrorists. Trump said that we follow laws but the terrorists don’t.

  5. blowme0bama says:

    “a bump in the road”

  6. votermom says:

Merkel should be indicted as a co conspirator to all these attacks.

  7. lyn says:

My Catalan friend’s two young cousins arrived in Brussels on holiday yesterday. He just found out the young women are safe.

  8. mothy67 says:

I may sound sexist and I apologize if I offend anyone here not because I am contrite about my feelings but rather because I respect the women here, but where the fuck are the men in Europe. All this shit has been taking place for years. I’d love to walk through Rotterdam(sp?) And Cologne with a baseball bat. I would enjoy cracking a skull of a child molester. Are European men so metrosexual that there is no fight. I almost killed a guy. Pup was not yet two we were at the zoo I was changing her diaper this guy was looking at her and smiling. I almost killed him. I would have and it would have been guilt free.. I do not understand how the fathers, brothers, uncles in Cologne did not lose their shit.

    • taw46 says:

      I agree with you, mothy.

    • swanspirit says:

I was under the impression ; obviously wrong, that European men were still more macho than American men.

    • Jadzia says:

It’s an urban-rural thing. With maybe a handful of exceptions, every rural man I’ve met in France has been pretty rough-and-tumble and yeah, protective. The opposite is true in the city. Don’t know about other countries, though.

      • mothy67 says:

I am a city boy and a f a g. I would go so Rick from Walking Dead. Fuck with my kid I will END you. I will not sit and think you had a bad childhood. Nope I’m gonna rip out your esophagus with my teeth. I am from a long line of feisty Irish women. Absolutely fucking brilliant kick ass white trash.

      • driguana says:

That’s a really good point, Jadzia. My youngest son is married to a lovely young woman born n Besancon and raised in the small communities of Maiche, Les Ecorses and Charquemont in eastern France right at the Swiss border. I’ve spent a lot of there and love these people. You are right, they are rough and tumble…very different than the city folks. They love to eat, drink their wine, work hard and get in your face if you mistreat them. But many of the young ones now move to Switzerland to work there as the employment conditions are much better and they are becoming fearful of the lack of their government to stand up for them. The last time I was there last summer there was some very fierce debating going on about the role of Marine Le Pen and how so many believed in some of the things she was talking about then but were afraid to even mention her name in public for fear of reprisals. Kind of reminds me of the Trump issues here. Very strange time when you think about it…if you are European or European-American and you stick up for your own ethnicity, you are labeled a racist or a Nazi….Europeans are really facing this issue head on…strange times…

        • taw46 says:

Strange indeed, never thought I would see that in Europe or here in our country.

        • Jadzia says:

Absolutely. I keep my mouth shut (hard to believe, right?) here and DEFINITELY at the university. It was way different when we lived in the boonies.

It’s no wonder bronco wanted to resume ties to that island. He’d like to have the “right” to silence us like that as well while his daughters wear $20,000 dresses to a party, attend the most elite schools in the nation and have trust funds in offshore banks where they cennot be touched by gov’t.

  15. lyn says:

“The network then quoted statements issued by the rest of them.
    ” Who cares?
“They are irrelevant, including Clinton who held the title of Secretary of State for four years. As of 10 a.m., no word from President Obama. Not one. Apparently standing in front of the memorial to mass murderer Che in Cuba tuckered the man out. He is so tired he could not issue the rote statement that this is not what Islam is and that we should not cave in to our instincts to do something rational because that is what these terrorists want us to do. Guess apologizing to Castro’s brother was just too tiring.
“Trump identified this problem early on and endured the wrath of an out-of-touch Washington press who called him xenophobic, racist and Islamophobic”

  16. lyn says:

    • Jadzia says:

And don’t show up at the embassy, because you will be locked out.

      • DeniseVB says:

That happened in Paris too 😦 WTF are our embassies there for?

        • Jadzia says:

Here’s the good part: supposedly the reason that expats have to pay federal income tax is because we “receive services” from the embassy. ORLY?

I hate going to the embassy, at least the one in Paris. It is so locked down that it actually freaks me out. I’m going next month and taking a Xanax with me for afterwards.

        • Jadzia says:

I don’t know if it’s a post 9/11 thing or what, but at least here, they have no engagement with the community that I can see. You just go there to do paperwork and get treated like crap. They are basically fortresses. I think it’s a shitty message to send to the world — America the Terrified. Those are the optics.

          • DeniseVB says:

So the U.S. Embassies are the DMV’s of the world ? But I hear they party hard. Kewl. 😉

          • Jadzia says:

DMVs with airport-style security. You cannot even have a laptop. They make you leave it at a bar around the corner. (Everything else, they make you leave at the security shack outside.) Because fuck those French people, let THEM blow up, is what it kind of looks like.

          • taw46 says:

I think it is mostly a reaction to 9/11. I believe that is when they began to change. And I don’t like the optics, either.

It’s time to redouble our commitment to diversity. Bombings, injuries and deaths are tragedies. However, it would be an even greater tragedy if our commitment to mass migration, diversity and population replacement in Europe was undermined by incidents such as these. Don’t give in to Trumpism. We can be diverse. Je suis Brussels!

Islam is not loving. Most religions are not. But Islam is a religion based on child rape and murder. Period. End of Story. And the legacy of Islam is rape (child brides, slave wives, etc., etc) and murder. I challenge Hillary to show me one example of how loving Islam is. I AM SICK OF THIS CRAP. ISLAM SUCKS. ALLAH SUCKS. RAPISTS AND MURDERS SUCK. JE SUIS PISSED OFF. Stop with the love, hand holding, and hash tags. GO TRUMP GO TRUMP GO TRUMP. sorry, just a bit overwhelmed with stupidity out there.

    • Lulu says:

Islam is a power dynamic for control of primitive people and has nothing to do with god or spirituality of any kind.

      • swanspirit says:

I also think that as part of that power dynamic, it is a means of making “soldiers” of every practitioner of the religion,.One way of building an army of to make a religion of conquest.

Why is that we allow people to say Obama is smart? Wait, he is smart compared to ANY person who props him up or votes for him so you know what YOU ARE THE FOOLS. RIDICULOUS. The emperor is naked and sitting on your face and you still can’t see his ass; can you smell it? ARE YOU AWAKE?

When the first true terrorist hit since 9/11 happens in America and we see LOTS of dead white babies and women with breast implants lying around (it will need to be 1000’s) I don’t think that the majority of America will wake up. Maybe Botox makes you stupid. I just don’t get it.

  32. jennifer lyn says:

Too funny, yet rethinking that whole episode. World leaders show up for the Charlie Hebdo unity march. We’re a no-show. Eric Holder was in Paris, and was interviewed for four of the Sunday news shows, but he didn’t take part in the march.

Kerry shows up days later with this guy singing ‘You’ve Got a Friend’. Wonder if this administration was really sending a message to all our Muslim friends instead.

Years ago I was working at Magnolia Cafe in Philly. Bartender was a lesbian who had been in rehab. We went to a lesbian bar as she was suffocating. Was called Hepburns in Philly. I walked her to her car went into Wawa bought a cheese hoagie, a USA Today and chocholate covered dounuts. I walked out and heard gunfire. I am stupid. I went towards it. I made the acquaintance of a woman with a bullet in her head. Not really the bullet went in her cheek bone and exited her neck.. There I was lady bleeding all over the place. I am not real bright all I knew was apply pressure to her bleeding holes. Paddy wagon showed up and they picked us up together and put us in the back. We were taken to Hahnamen Hospital. Woman had been shot in the head. All she could say with her blood gurgling all over my very expensive shirt was I can’t die I have three children. Please tell my boysI love them. Fuck off. I am a dreadful person, but I was flooredthat she only thought of her kids.
She’s a grandmother now. Bullettook out a few teeth and part of her tongue. I having witnessed knocking on heaven’s door and seeing the desperate love a motherhas for a child cannot comprehend the silence from Cologne.

In February, Belgian security services discovered two men had been secretly videotaping one of the country’s senior nuclear scientists.

In the process of searching the home of Mohamed Bakkali, who was arrested and charged with terrorist activity and murder over alleged links to the Nov. 13, 2015, Paris terror attacks, police found 10 hours of secretly recorded video showing the unnamed nuclear official coming and going from his home in Belgium’s Flanders region.

If this is no big deal, why did they evacuate the nuclear plant after the bombings this morning?

  41. WMCB says:

  42. cynic says:

I was listening to the Mike Gallagher radio show this a.m., and he had on Richard Miniter, who is an author, and worked for the WSJournal Belgium.

In the interview, he specifically talks about the bombs going off near AA and Starbucks. The bombers are sending us a message. He also talked about how the country has changed. Elderly women no longer go to the stores alone. Women can work on the trains.

It’s definitely worth listening to the interview.

    • lyn says:

Wow–that was excellent. If we can’t determine who is fleeing oppression and who is bringing oppression here, then an immigration ban is sensible.
Many Muslims don’t have birth certificates. Saudi Arabia started issuing them in 1961.
Belgium female train conductors are banned in the south, because Arab men won’t pay their fares or they physically or sexually abuse the conductors.

      • cynic says:

I didn’t know that about the birth certificates. Maybe that’s why Obama had to create one??? Maybe the whole ‘born in Hawaii story is a bunch of bull. Ok, I know, I’m going a bit off the deep end with that comment.

I looked up Richard Miniter and read a couple of articles written by him. They were all very interesting.

        • Myiq2xu™ says:

Even if he is who he says he is, how do we know whether he’s a refugee, an immigrant looking for work, or a terrorist who hasn’t started killing people yet?

        • taw46 says:

We can’t verify anything from those countries. Especially Syria, since all of their infrastructure has been destroyed. As if we could trust them in the first place.

      • Underwhelmed says:

And there you have it. Instead of disciplining the offenders, they punish the victims. Textbook SJW fascism.

    • Lulu says:

They do not want AA and Starbucks mentioned because it points to targeting. Just like the police and politicos in Cologne didn’t want information about thefts, assaults and rapes getting out and becoming common knowledge. The public cannot protect themselves, be aware, look for problems or be careful if they are not informed. This is serious dereliction of duty and responsibility and why a Cologne prosecutor is looking at charging the Cologne police and political leaders for knowingly encouraging harm to their own citizens. But most importantly they do not want information like targeting of American citizens or businesses because the Obama administration will not do anything about it and has no intention of ever doing so. No number of innocents being dead, injured, maimed is more important that his goal of open borders, multi-culti, and domination and eventual destruction of western culture by barbarians. His trip to Cuba for ass-kissing is more important and just some nobodies got maimed or dead. Globalism marches on.

Note that you cannot root out the terrorists among the Muslim community because the Imams are almost 100% HATEFUL and in bed with ISIS. This religion IS exactly what they are telling us they are. Evil. Hateful. Death to America. We don’t need to look further than their actions to know what they are. There are a few Imams that publicly tout some level of acceptance but if you listen to what they say privately it is violative of OUR constitution and supportive of the mindset behind ISIS. Here is the deal, you cannot take shit and make it smell good. You just can’t. America needs to GET RID of religions that violate our constitution and hate our country. My god this whole argument is inane. I say we throw up this example to these eggheads: If you think our country should be open to ALL opinions even those that are hateful and encourage death to Americans why don’t you allow criminals into your home? Why do you lock your doors when you are not there or have an alarm system? That is not acceptance and love that is JUST LIKE TRUMP and his WALL. You want to keep others not like you out and that means you are a hypocrite. If acceptance and gifting is good for America it must be good on personal level too and if not than you are just a big fact hypocrite.

Ace done lost his mind! He shut off comments on his blog. I guess his bullshit parsing of Trump saying today he never said to “shut it down” re: Muslim immigration but that we had to be careful and safe in our processing/screening as being a FLIP FLOP from his saying 3 months ago when called for a temporary ban until we “figured out was going on” became too much for him when Cruz did an actual flip flop today calling for an immediate stop of all Syrian refugees (at the time Trump called for temporary ban, Cruz mocked him).
And no, Trump didn’t flip flop — as I pointed out there, “shut it down” = permanently end, which is how MSM is inaccurately characterizing Trumps initial remarks. His clarification today is consistent with what he originally called for –temporary ban until we figure out what is going on.
I keep hoping Ace will get his head out of his ass but alas, I hope in vain. The site has become a bunch of mean girls filing in the pages of their Trump burn book.

Oddly we had dinner together in midtown four days after 9/11. Everyone was numb back then but he had lived in Brussels somehow this hit him harder than 9/11. He is really angry. I think 9/11 was to big to process. This is awful but you can not process it. As brutally real as 9/11 was it felt like a have to shelve things. Cannot digest people jumping to their death to avoid inferno. It’s just too much. I have known him since we were 19. He had a maid in college. For some reason what took place today was the proverbial straw for him. He has three kids and suddenly he sees a threat. Boston , San Bernadino did not move him but Brussels has.

People on Twitter vehemently denying that the problem lies anywhere other than with a handful of individual terrorists are getting on my last nerve.

The Obamas having a grand old time at the baseball game. These photos are so wrong. Or maybe not, he looks happier there than he does here in America. Also, Nancy Pelosi was in Cuba with Obama.

Just heard that the 3 airport bombers had even more explosives, but they would not fit into the taxi so were left behind. Those bombs were found at the apartment today. It would have been even worse than the horrific scene this morning. One bomber still alive and being hunted.

A B–I-G thanks to DeniseVB for providing the link to TCH over at SteelMagnolia.
First time I’ve read the comments and I think you’re all crazy.
So I should fit right in, TCH, my home away from home.
Glad to be aboard. Howdy everyone!

Ted Cruz has no shame. He is running campaign ads against Melania.

    • lyn says:

Lyin’ Ted can’t get any lower.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

If he thinks Melania is trashy just wait until Kim Kardashian is FLOTUS.

    • Somebody says:

That is low even for Ted. I think I saw the woman running that super pac on TV the other day. She was going on and on about Trump’s wife not being a good role model. She mentioned her posing nude and then went in for “the kill”. She brought up the fact that Trump’s wife is a foreigner, then she said do we really want a foreigner as first lady.

She pivoted from that to America had a chance to elect the first pro choice first lady. What a lunatic bitch! Desperate people sink to desperate levels.

BTW if Cruz wins all 40 delegates from Utah he will only need to get 95% of the delegates in the remaining states. IOW no path to the nomination, but he’ll stay in because he’s a tool.

    • Anthony says:

Is this how Ted plans on finding out if he’s right handed or not?

    • CiscoKid says:

A sign of desperation. I would expect this kind of cheap shot from the Dem’s, Hillary or Sanders, take your pick.
Cruz is lower than whale s**t, and that’s at the bottom of the ocean.

I see that the propaganda corp, media, is hard at work scrubbing the muslim connection in the Brussels attack.
At Chicago’s O’Hare airport, out of thousands of travelers, a reporter was able to single out a muslim.
First words, ” I don’t think it was muslims that did this”.
But, he was Sooooo sorry it happened.
On his was back to Pakistan. Good.
