Reports from the Bedroom: #COGOP Edition

For a few weeks, up until just a few days ago, my hubby has been parroting the mainstream media’s line that some Trump supporters are racist. He’s also expressed his doubts that Trump is even a viable candidate, let alone a worthy one. He’s said he could maybe vote for Bernie.

Then Colorado happened. Almost everyday since he’s talked to me about this “Colorado thing.” When I told him that the COGOP ditch their own primary, he went ballistic.

Now he’s a Trump supporter.

His reasoning? The COGOP fiasco, he says, has made it clear that the establishment is so scared of Trump, so desperate to hang on to their corrupted position, that they are willing to completely remove the voice of the people in our electoral system, and that’s something he can’t abide.

Translation: Fuck this shit. #GoTrump

Oh, and he voted for Obama in 2008.

This is an open thread.

I can’t wait til Tuesday to see if New York matters or not🙂

      • Anthony says:

NY voting laws might prevent millions from voting on Tues. Deadline to register was LAST OCTOBER, according to “rules”…

        • lyn says:

Why do DemocRats disenfranchise voters like that?

        • Somebody says:

Same deadline for republicans too, the uniparty at work.

          • lyn says:

That means new Trump supporters who didn’t register get disenfranchised. SMDH. Is NY an open primary state?

          • Anthony says:

Thats what I meant. So anyone who decided to vote GOP (or even for first time) is excluded. 2Lynn – New York is a closed primary. Millions screwed, Reince must be delighted. This will not end well…

          • Somebody says:

Speaking of deadlines attention all crawdaders in upcoming states, the deadline to register with your party of choice to vote in the R or D primary are as follows.

            New Jersey deadline is TODAY…..TODAY…..TODAY!
            Oregon April 26, 2016
            West Virginia April 18, 2016
            Washington April 25, 2016
            Nebraska May 2, 2016
            Montana* May 7, 2016
            New Mexico May 10, 2016
            South Dakota* May 23, 2016
            California May 23, 2016

It’s too late in all other states……***South Dakota and Montana are open to all, but the date listed is to register to vote.

So is NY NEXT Tuesday? I am getting confused.

Am I a racist for laughing at this ? A RL friend shared this on FB and it’s all I can do to contain myself from commenting like an ahole. (“Good grief, that’s not even MO’s real body, best photoshop ever!” “Just like JackieO? Give me a break, Mrs Kennedy loved her country! Never, never, never”) Ok, I feel better now😉

    • leslie says:

I’m with Joan J… Plus whoever really wrote that buncha bunk, has to be blind, ignorant of history, racist or any combination thereof.

    • leslie says:

Speaking of photoshops… It looks as if FLOTUS is using the very same photoshopper as Oprah. Between her pose (and how special is that?) the black gown, and the photoshop, anyone could look that good. PHONYOTUS

      • jennifer lyn says:

Devil comes in many forms. You have to know it when you see it and I see it. EVIL and she doubled down on black on black (yes many think it is racist but the black vs. white paradigm goes WAY back to dark and light and the garden of eden so I am going to use it until the end of my days). We must know truth vs. lie and we must stand up no matter what. Americans need to stop listening to snake and start embracing truth. Taxes will mean death to middle class-we are barely holding on as it is. My god people what more can these a..wipes do to show you that they are not on your side.

    • Lulu says:

The pose is pretty good except for her “pissed off” clenched jaw. The 3/4 turn camouflages her gigantic butt/hips/shoulders. The skirt length hides the biggo tootsies too. And Oprah has done this for years and years with the same stuff being hidden.

    • Venus says:

Do these morons just make shit up? Hillary went to Yale law and Wellesley College.
Jackie O went to Vassar . That’s all Ivy league — and yep, Hillary has 2, too.
Lauren Bush, btw, went to my alma mater Southern Methodist University. Technically not Ivy legue, but I’ll put it up against any Ivy any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
PS: the difference between Jackie O and MO is that MO is a merely imitating elegance and poise. Jackie O was an original.

      • blowme0bama says:

Heh, used to date a lady’s basketball player from SMU.

      • Jadzia says:

Also, there’s the little matter that (and okay, I am not researching this so I could be wrong) MO is probably the first First Lady who is young enough that she was PERMITTED to attend an Ivy League college instead of one of the Seven Sisters. I don’t think either Harvard or Yale even admitted women until the late 1960s or early 1970s. (Which is probably why Jackie O went to Vassar and HRC went to But hey, I’m just sayin’.

Okay, I just looked, and Columbia didn’t start admitting women until 1983!!!! It was Barnard for the ladies before then.

        • Venus says:

Exactly — never mind that Hillary actually went to Yale for law school — but anyone who doesn’t know about the history of the Seven Sisters vis-a-vis the Ivy League to make the statement she did really needs to STFU

    • Anthony says:

OK, I followed your link. Some of those comments are just straight up cray…

I wonder how they’ll survive next year after the Obamas leave and her size 15 kitten heels no longer echo the sound of her manly gait through the marble hallways?

Maybe I should be kinder? Nah…🙂

    • swanspirit says:

One (photoshopped) picture does not erase a history of antipathy for her country, and disdain for large portions of its population.

    • Jadzia says:

Yale isn’t in the Ivy League anymore? Somebody needs to tell HRC.

  4. Dora says:

He voted for obama! I’m glad your Hubby came to his senses. Thanks Donald. 🙂

I can’t stand this man. The word smarmy comes to mind when I read about him or see his face.

Cruz’s message to Wall Street: Help me

After bashing bankers, including his wife’s employer Goldman Sachs, he invites them to a Harvard Club fundraiser.

    • DandyTIger says:

Well duh, of course he’s raking in money from all the usual donor classes, including banks and wall street. It’s just time for another batch of IOU’s, er, I mean donations.

    • Oh yes, he did vote for Obama, and this was a question I had for him: Why was it okay for the Democratic party to steal delegates then, but it’s not okay for the GOPe to do it now?

He didn’t understand how it happened then, but canceling a primary is pretty obvious.

      • Somebody says:

Well I’m glad your husband found his issue to rally behind, but as you said the D party is no better. In fact with the super delegates I’d say it is worse.

Not to quibble, but the Colorado GOP made this decision back in August 2015. They’ve had a “problem” in Colorado with movement candidates……read the people not falling in line behind the selected establishment candidate. At least that is the opinion of the party poo bahs, you know screw the actual voters and what they want, their betters are so much……well better, smh.

They’ve previously had caucuses and straw polls, but they’ve consistently not bound their delegates to those results. They didn’t want to bind their delegates this time either and the only way to do that after rule changes in 2012 was to not hold any kind of caucus, primary or straw poll. Point being I don’t know if Trump played into their decision so much when they made it. They just don’t want to be “mired down” with having to represent the people no matter who the people prefer.

North Dakota nor Wyoming have voting either. Only party insiders decide who the delegates are going to back at the convention. On top of that, the party leaders purposely shut out Trump delegates using nefarious tactics which IMO made the entire situation even worse. They did so in all 3 states I mentioned btw. They were just better at it in WY and ND. Co was in your face and over the top, especially with that pledge to never vote for Trump, WTF.

Hillary Confirms Trillion Dollar Tax Hike Plan

During an interview with the editorial team of the New York Daily News, Hillary Clinton admitted her tax proposals will increase taxes on the American people by at least $1 trillion over the next ten years. Here is the key exchange from the meeting, according to a transcript released by the Daily News:

Weeks ago I mentioned that the Chicago Tribune refused to endorse either HRC or Bernie because neither had sound fiscal plans. Nothing has changed.

  6. DeniseVB says:

Ran across this article from May 2015 in the Denver Post about the state legislature trying to switch from a caucus to open primary state. The GOP shot it down because it was too expensive. This was a full month before DJT even announced his candidacy. Not sure what that was we witnessed at their voterless caucus ? In 2012, people voted, Santorum won, but Mitt got more delegates.

    • Somebody says:

Exactly I posted up thread, the situation in CO ended up benefiting Cruz, but it was actually just a ploy to ensure the crony insiders got to make the decisions and not the actual voters. I don’t think it was a move specific to DJT, it was to keep any “outsider” from getting those delegates. Same thing in a couple of other states.

I don’t have the link for this:

The Office of Personnel Management is preparing for a pilot program to automatically track public social media postings of people applying for security clearances.

OPM is conducting market research to find companies that can perform automated social media tracking and other types of Web crawling as part of the background investigation process, according to an April 8 request for information posted online. Responses from interested companies are due by April 15.

OPM is looking for companies that can automatically browse publicly available electronic information, which includes information posted to news and media sites; Facebook, Twitter and other social media postings; blog postings; online court records, updates to photo and video-sharing sites; and information gleaned from online e-commerce sites, such as Amazon and eBay.

    • lyn says:

OPM also let my hubby’s SS# get stolen.

    • Somebody says:

I don’t have an issue with this. If you apply for a job with clearance you have to know you are going to be scrutinized. Where I would have a problem is if they didn’t hire you because of your political leanings or something like that……I’d say religious, but no. Ordinarily I’d feel that way, but if somebody is a sworn jihadist, I’m thinking I don’t want them to have a security clearance.

      • Somebody says:

By the way for higher security clearances they already do that and more. The FBI conducts an investigation into your life, they literally talk to your teachers, neighbors current and past, former co-workers, and even neighbors and friends of relatives. They look at your financial situation all kinds of stuff, it comes with the territory.

I should say that is what they’re supposed to do, obviously there have been gaps, but that is how it is supposed to work.

    • lyn says:

“If Trump gets screwed by the GOP, the third party will be bigger than the GOP fairly soon.”
He suggests the latest news cycle has helped Trump prepare this narrative, especially after the optics of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) winning all of Colorado’s delegates while the public could not vote in a primary or caucus.
“It’s a huge win for Trump,” Adams wrote. “It turned him into a victim of the machine at the same time he is fighting to break it. Emotionally, it looks as if Trump got screwed and that democracy isn’t working. That plays to Trump’s strengths.”

Lyin’ Ted certainly isn’t endearing himself to the Italians living in NY. And there are many.

    • DeniseVB says:

When I heard that this morning, I laughed. Has Ted ever seen The Godfather or The Sopranos ? The buying, selling and killing of politicians was their power, not the other way around. Believe me, we could use a Don Vito Trumpleone to clean out the corrupt politicians we have now.

      • Lulu says:

It was a shot at Manafort which means “strong hand” in Italian. Cruz is acting like a WATB. Manafort freaks Cruz out.

When I told him that the COGOP ditch their own primary, he went ballistic.

Lola, we haven’t had a Presidential primary in Colorado since 2000. We’re a caucus state. And yes, it was the GOP that did away with the primary but that has pretty much nothing to do with the current candidates. Hell, Trump was still a Democrat when that happened.

IF there was ever any doubt, as to how batshot cray cray the left is…this would dispel any lingering shadow of a doubt.

Multiculturalism. Who knew that the left would eliminate it in favor of a glorious cultural caste system in which the only people allowed to cook and eat Chinese food must have their DNA on record.

This week, NPR asked “When Is It OK To Profit From Cooking Other Cultures’ Food?” In other words, is it okay for an Indian-American to run a pizza joint, or an Italian to run an Indian restaurant? If you’re a white guy cooking Mexican food, it is racist or “neocolonialist”? Apparently, to the Left, you should “stick to your own kind” when selling food.

If we aren’t going to approve of cultural appropriation;wouldn’t that mean we don’t approve illegal immigrants coming here to appropriating our American Culture??

That link above was about Megan Kelly. And today…

      • lyn says:

The whole Q&A was interesting. Thanks for sharing.

      • Lulu says:

Kelly said she requested the meeting, they had a nice meeting, and she is angling for an interview. Then Trump said they had a “nice” talk and “we will see”.

She lost. She cannot have a prime time show on Fox and have a major political figure who won’t speak to her. Did she figure this out or did Ailes tell her to get it straightened out? Methinks the later. The super early Fox morning show keeps bringing “the meeting” up with big goof smiles. Their ratings have taken a big hit obviously. Kelly also got into a brouhaha with Al Sharpton to try to rehabilitate herself. And she appears to be trying to sneer less and look puzzled more.
