Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I absolutely love Vivaldi.

It’s a great way to start the day.

    • leslie says:

I completely agree. I’m doing my taxes today. I’ll have to get out my Vivaldi and Bach and Mozart to get me through this. Thank you for this wonderful inspiration.

    • DeniseVB says:

Have you seen the movie The Four Seasons? Fun rom-com and played Vivaldi’s music throughout, a great cast too 🙂

      • leslie says:

I thought it was such a fun movie. Carol Burnett never gets old.

        • DeniseVB says:

Wasn’t Len Cariou the original Sweeney Todd on Broadway ? Alan Alda’s daughters played the daughters (of Cariou and Alda in the film). It was certainly jam packed with award winners in the main cast too. Tonys, Emmys and Oscars. Oh my 🙂

  2. Dora says:

They admitted it on the air. But that was then.

  3. DeniseVB says:

    Let’s be honest PayPal ….

  4. Dora says:

Call it ‘alternate reality’ if you want. I call them all nuts!

The Alternate Reality of Ted Cruz and His Followers

    • DeniseVB says:

I got schooled by a Cruzbot, in a discussion about college students should be debating politics, not crying about it, telling me it’s okay if they whine because Trump whines too much too. Huh?

      • DandyTIger says:

Airing legitimate unfairness and problems is not whining. But if you call any complaining whining, that’s fine. Then everyone does it. And of course some politicking isn’t about logic and legitimacy, it’s about influence. And everyone does that. So they can whine and cry all they want of course. If they want to have a constructive conversations to figure things out or understand them, then they won’t whine. If they’re only about trying to influence and/or be crybullies, then whatever.

  5. dm says:

FYI All Binge Watchers with Comcast – free week of On Demand starting today…I think this coming weekend may also be free HBO…enjoy!

    • leslie says:

Thanks, dm. I thought it was last week and I kept getting messages about not being a subscriber. Then, my “set top box” stopped responding to the remote in the middle of a program I’d been watching in another room and it took 20+ minutes to resolve that issue. BTW if anyone wants to watch the PBS documentary “Jackie Robinson” using On Demand, go for it. Those #BLM folks ought to take a look at it to see what their grandparents and others had to go through so they (#BLM) could stand around and complain.

    • leslie says:

BTW, In the beginning, Jackie Robinson was a Republican. He initially endorsed Nixon.
I was surprised to learn that.

    • Dora says:

Speaking of HBO, did anyone see the movie “Bessie”? Hubby and I watched it last night on DVD. The movie was great and Queen Latifah was terrific! What a performer she is!

  6. DeniseVB says:

My liberal friends on FB have not been paying attention, today is not JFK’s liberalism anymore ….

    • Anthony says:

I’m a fiscal conservative and don’t care wtf anyone does re: social issues as long as they don’t force it on me or anyone else who is unwilling. That makes me what used to be known as a Blue Dog Democrat.

There’s a HUGE difference between liberals and progressives. Unfortunately, they’ve become (wrongly) synonymous these days.

      • elliesmom says:

        Or a Rockefeller Republican

        • Anthony says:

I dunno about that… I’ve never been affiliated with either party, but voted Dem my entire life until 2008. This explanation fits me to a T:

“There are several explanations for how the name Blue Dog Democrat came about. One is that founding members of the congressional caucus in the mid-1990s claimed to have felt “choked blue by the extremes in both parties.”

It was Bill Clinton’s presidency that got me interested in politics.

          • elliesmom says:

            Rockefeller Republican

Rockefeller Republicans were typically moderate to center-right, vehemently rejected conservatives like Barry Goldwater and his policies, and were often, but not necessarily, culturally liberal. They espoused government and private investments in environmentalism, healthcare, and higher education as necessities for a better society and economic growth, in the tradition of Rockefeller. In general, Rockefeller Republicans opposed socialism and government ownership. They supported some regulation of business and many New Deal–style social programs. A critical element was their support for labor unions. The building trades, especially, appreciated the heavy spending on infrastructure. In turn, the unions gave these politicians enough support to overcome the anti-union rural element in the Republican Party.

      • DeniseVB says:

I think I’m libertarian. Small government which stops at my front door. I’ve never had a problem with any lifestyle that involves consenting adults and why I’ll never support pedophilia or beastiality. (<—-yes, I've heard the drumbeats to decriminalize because lifestyle choice or something)

Though happily independent now which frees me to believe whatever I want 😀

  7. DeniseVB says:

Politico running out of stuff to write about ?

    • taw46 says:

The oligarchs are desperate. Wonder how much he was paid to write that BS article?

    • Anthony says:

Article was written by Darren Samuelsohn, Byron York, notoriously suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome probably had an orgasm when he tweeted it. Politico will write about anything these days…

      • DeniseVB says:

York’s intro to the article seemed to agree with it 🙂 TDS is a powerful force, yeah, let’s talk about impeaching DJT before he’s even …. nominated. Just clickbait for ad revenue.

        • Lulu says:

They are competing for elite GOP sponsorship money which is laundered through “magazines” or think tanks. Without the donor money these “magazines”, radio talkers, experts and media “consultants” are dead as door nails because they are shitty. Think Air American only rightie.

          • DeniseVB says:

Oh gawd, Air America was obnoxious when I was a lefty activist. I preferred Howard Stern in those days. They lost all their investors’ money because they sucked.

          • mothy67 says:

What ws the name of the comic that called Palin c word. I want to say Randy Rhodes?

  8. DeniseVB says:

    • Somebody says:

AJ Delgado is wrong FL has always been winner take all on the R side or at least it has since I’ve been voting. The only wrinkle was actually in 2008 when FL moved their primary up and both parties got their panties in a wad about it. The end result in 2008 only half of FL delegates counted in both parties.

      • DeniseVB says:

That’s how screwy the system seems, people hardly know what’s going on in their own state much less the other 49. I’m waiting for the Bernies to notice his delegate math doesn’t even add up to Common Core standards 🙂

    • leslie says:

I don’t know what Sunday morning program Reince Priebus was on yesterday. But this morning on the radio, I heard him being asked about counting votes and elections, and the rules that seem to change without warning. His answer was so convoluted that he must have had to be untangled physically at the end. Doesn’t ANYONE listen to what these people (especially this turd) say??? It must be out of self preservation that they don’t.

    • votermom says:

As nominee, Cruz will convince the electoral delegates from Blue states into voting for him. /propheciesofglennbeck

  10. DeniseVB says:

According to the comments, only one person complained ?

  11. elliesmom says:

Well, for me today is worry wart day. My kids are running the Boston Marathon again. This time it’s my DIL’s turn to do the race, and my son’s turn to show up at different points along the way with the cheering squad in tow. Kris says this is her last time to be the runner, but she’s said that before. Rob has said he’s retired. He’s done one more race than she will have done, which is why i’m skeptical she won’t do at least one more. You know to keep things even. 😉 The good news is their fund raising is still going strong. Kris will hit $6000 this time. Not a high mark for them, but still a good haul for Dana Farber Cancer Research. The weather is perfect, and she’s trained hard.

  15. votermom says:

I get Ted Cruz emails. The subject line is always clickbait but I usually just delete.
The latest one had the subject ” sacrifice” and the email made me roll my eyes so hard.

The gist is that Ted is making a sacrifice by running so won’t I please consider making a “sacrificial gift” of $24 for Ted.

It’s long but let me know if anyone wants me to post the whole thing.

    • DandyTIger says:

Please don’t. Think of the children. 🙂

      • votermom says:

Funny you should mention the children:
Time with my family is non-existent: Spending almost every day on the campaign trail means precious little time spent with my wife, Heidi, and my daughters — the very family that gives me the motivation and drive to fight.

        • leslie says:

Tell him to stop running and go back home where he says he is happy.

        • DeniseVB says:

Funny about that, DJT takes responsibility for his first two failed marriages on never being home, the ladies weren’t getting the attention they wanted/needed. Melania seems to be working because she was already an independent, free thinking, self accomplished woman, which makes him want to stay home more 😉 Oh well, running for President now, but Melania seems like a trooper.

    • Dora says:

This one from Hank Rearden is short.

    • Lulu says:

He hasn’t “lived” with them for years or just Heidi before that. He visits. If they had to live in the same town they would probably get a divorce. This shit is their shtick. It is baloney.

  16. DandyTIger says:

Good luck to everyone at the Boston Marathon today.

  17. DandyTIger says:

Another Tay-Apple ad. Nice mic drop.

  18. Anthony says:

NY Primary hysteria is burning me out. Went to Riverside Park this morning to get away from everything. When most people think of Manhattan, they think of sky scrapers, millions of people milling around and concrete. Riverside Park is 2 blocks from my apartment, which is also 1 express subway stop from Times Square. Next time anyone is visiting NYC, come see this park!

Donald Trump Just Received AMAZING NEWS – This Is A POLITICAL EARTHQUAKE!

What once started as rumors is now becoming fact: Donald Trump is beating all of his Republican primary opponents soundly… and getting more delegates than Hillary Clinton!

The election results now confirm that Trump outshines all other candidates of either party. This just shook the political establishment to the core:

    • CiscoKid says:

      Thanks for the heads-up Dora.
So very encouraging, but yet the RNC and Cruz are taking delegates away from Trump.
The guy in 3rd place, Cruz, is being touted as a winner, and the 1st place guy as the loser.

  25. leslie says:

I just finished my taxes? I’m outta here for a while.
    see y’all later…………. 😉

    • CiscoKid says:

      Stay safe & take care.
      Now to business.
All you Trump Rangers in New York, listen up.
Tomorrow, out of the trenches and over the top.
Objective, voting booths, mission, DJT 2016, MAGA.
      Make it happen.
      That is all. Out here.

Can’t read the article, but did the largest group of pediatricians just warn that blocking hormones in preteens might really have long term health consequences?
I do not know one person ga y or straight that has a problem with the NC law. The whole thing seems so surreal. Do I honestly think there will be ever a scenario where my brat is sharing the Wendy’s bathroom with a guy. I doubt it. I know one person at this tage of my life. I donot know the person. Same local bar where I play poker for amusement only. I have never heard a negative word. I on the other hand get constant abuse. Lot’s of construction guys. It’s good natured. I’ve known some of these guys since they were 4. Played hs football with my little brother
I hate the myth that working white stiffs are homophobic. Just not true. The twitterverse has its draw backs. Oh its trending means its real. . Uh no it can mean its a campaign..

  26. Dora says:

    It’s already catching on. 🙂

  27. CiscoKid says:

Took a quick peek at the Trump rally in Buffalo, NY.
My goodness, haven’t seen a crowd this big since the SuperBowl.
    Stands are packed!

    • Ann says:

The Bills sent out a text that Rex Ryan was introducing Trump. LOL Hubby kept asking me if I was going (it is about 45 minutes away). The First Niagara Center hold 18,690 people. Pretty large group.

The cities in NYS are generally Dems, but the rest of the state? Not-so-much.

O MY GODDESS something is happening I never thought would happen! Donald Trump is coming to MY NEIGHBORHOOD!! literally 5 minutes from my house!! !!!

Donald Trump Confirmed to Speak at Stephen Decatur High School in Worcester County

    Updated: Apr 18, 2016 5:44 PM EDT
BERLIN, Md.- GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is scheduled to appear at Stephen Decatur High School on Wednesday, April 20.

According to Carrie Sterrs, spokesperson for Worcester County Public Schools, Trump will be using SDHS facilities on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a speaking engagement.

The event is open to the public.

Details on how to get tickets for the event were not yet released as of Tuesday evening.
I am definitely going, and my son might go as well, as he likes Trump too.
Wooooooooooooohoooooooooo I will take pics! I hope there are no protesters. I will have to refrain from being mouthy.
I hope it is isn’t cancelled.

  29. mothy67 says:

I just embraced my complete white trash roots. I sat on my air bed and put a whole in it. I put duct tape on it. I bought two different mattresses. Expensive. Air mattress works. I will buy a new one but not for a few days. My first thought was duct tape. Seriously though I have sciatica and the air mattress filled to max works. A firm 1100 dollar mattress did not work. I think its because air gradually m loses pressure and conforms.

    • leslie says:

I think I’m going to buy an air mattress at Target the next time they are on sale. I don’t have much room, so I can only get a little one.
      Duct tape is miraculous!!!
      Use it.

      • mothy67 says:

Check with your doctor first. I had a warm pain running down my leg into my foot. It hurt but more than anything it was just this constant discomfort. Once the weather breakes I am in flip flops. Pain killers did nothing. Tried a chiropracter nothing. I had bought two different mattresses. Not super expensive. 1100 range. Did nothing for me. I would get out of bed and sleep on the floor. I read try an air mattress. It worked. I have it on a piece of plywood on a bed frame. No box springs. I have to fill it up everynight, but it deflates around me as I sleep. I have been pain free. Might work for someone else. I don’t know. Might be risky. Mine is 13″ 0n top of a bed frame. Getting out of it in the morning is tricky as it has lost air and reacts to your movements. If you try one never drink a box of merlot and try to get to the bathroom at 6 am. Seriously though please do not try anything without asking your doctor.

      • mothy67 says:

Duct tape does not work. I knew better.

Update from 49er. My Sweetie is making progress in the rehab unit and they’re talking about “when she comes home”, but the date to do so is still very ‘soft’.   She still has painful spasms, but it might be they fewer, and longer between episodes.

We thank each of you for your prayers and well wishes, and for the lovely and encouraging comments. TCH helps keep me semi-sane.
