Chris Matthews has the tingles again 😉

    • Lulu says:

Matthews has no impulse control. And as he ages and his brain becomes ever more pickled from alcohol (and his big old honker gets redder) his pee-pee dominates the brain waves that are left.

    • Dora says:

It wasn’t that bad. Even I noticed how she walked when she entered the room. How could you help it? 🙂

      • Lulu says:

The girl can’t help it. Some of us are just made that way.

        • Dora says:

Thank you. Oh, you mean Melania? Sorry about that. 🙂

        • driguana says:

Apparently Little Richard is gravely ill and we may soon lose another rock and roll icon….always loved this song…and the movie was a hoot, too. And you are absolutely correct, the girl can’t help i..,.

          • WMCB says:

            That’s great!

          • driguana says:

And since as a music writer and broadcaster I’ve been thinking a lot about Little Richard these days, to many of us who grew up in the late 50s and early 60s, HE was the king of rock and roll and many would argue, one of it’s true originators. I was fortunate to have seen him live in 1958 in Cincinnati along with Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Frankie Lymon among others, an Alan Freed show….they don’t do them like that anymore…my dad took my sister and me….I was 12…my dad was 39. Here’s another great Little Richard track from The Girl Can’t Help It (56).

          • driguana says:

Oh and by the way, don’t know that I have mentioned this before, my radio program, Brave New World, is on the internet everyday from 1PM-7PMMST 3PM-9PMEST. If you like diverse music, you’ll dig it. The station is very unique and plays just about everything you can imagine. If you are from Pittsburgh, you’ll totally dig the old Porky tunes, you’ll get that.

          • WMCB says:

Thanks, Dr. I. I’ll give it a listen sometime.

    • Venus says:

Sorry, I can’t stand that fat stupid drunk bastard Tweety as much as the next sane person, but that was *lewd* — maybe inappropriate to say it out loud, but not *lewd.*

I don’t care what anyone thinks of Trump or his policies — Melania is mesmerizing.

  2. Dora says:

I asked Hubby to bid on this for me, but he said that I already have enough jewelry. Oh well. Sigh. Maybe one of you guys are interested.

Diamond the size of a tennis ball could fetch $70M

    • Lulu says:

It looked like a chunk of ice. Very superior white diamond which is why the 70M. Lots of occlusions though.

  3. DeniseVB says:

The news feeds are pretty boring this morning, other than the #NeverTrumps burning their conservative cards and the #TrumpTrain now shifting to Hillary Attack Mode. Kinda fun…..

  4. taw46 says:

Ready to scream, listening to Rob Reiner on MJ. During Rob’s little rant against Trump, Joe asked how do you account for the millions and millions of people who are voting for him? His reply, well, there are a lot of racists out there. Then he goes on to talk about the skinheads and KKK that attend his rallies, etc. So tired of these people.

    • DeniseVB says:

Rob Reiner is still and will always be a “meathead”.

    • Anthony says:

Saw him too and was waiting for the artery to burst. He was TOTALLY out of his mind. Perfect poster boy!

    • Somebody says:

Ain’t that the truth, so sick of the racism boogie man. I talked to my 30 year old daughter yesterday, she was telling me about people at her office chatting about politics. In essence most of them don’t like Hillary, but they’re not sure they could support a racist. I was like, excuse me what???

My daughter says mom you know he’s a little bit racist. I didn’t let her get away with that. In fact I went off on her in a point by point fashion. Her reply, get over it mom racist or not just about everyone is probably going to vote for Trump because he’s better for our pocketbooks. Then she went on to say, I get your points mom I understand what you’re saying but the media has portrayed Trump as a racist and I’m not going to delve into the minutiae or debate politics at work.

She works at a fortune 50 company where they have outsourced tons of jobs, moved even more overseas and pulled in as many H1B visa holders as they can get their hands on. They live out these failed policies every single day, not to mention most of them live in fear of losing their jobs…….yet some are still on the fucking fence???

Hopefully she’s right that most will end up voting Trump, she said to a person they all agreed financially and economically a Trump administration would be MUCH better for their families. She took that combined with the distaste for Hillary to mean a large number would end up voting Trump in the privacy of the voting booth……..but again they’re “troubled” about supporting a racist.

Gotta love millennials most of them honestly have no idea what real racism is.

      • CiscoKid says:

Read this a few days ago.
First, establish that racism is the ultimate evil.
Second, associate anyone or anything you don’t like with racism.
        Just about nails it, eh?

      • leslie says:

My dd#1 – you know, the one who was just laid off by Intel – continues to say she can’t support Trump because “racist” and “misogynist”. She pulls out the same talking points that MSM has fed her and others. When she read that I would support Trump as long as Intel and companies like Intel continue to apply for H1B visas and green cards before they lay off their longtime and often very successful workers, she had very mixed feelings.
A friend of mine said she heard an interview on NPR re: the Intel layoffs over the weekend. I told her about the Intel’s applications for H1B and green cards. I also said that the interview with NPR was intended to legitimize their actions without talking about their importation of foreign workers. I also said I rarely listen to NPR any more because they have become a left wing spox for issues that don’t pass the smell test.

BTW: DD’s last day w Intel was last Wednesday even tho she had to turn in all her “stuff” by the end of theTuesday before. Since then she has had 3 interviews and 3 job offers and has 3 more interviews this week alone. Five of those six interviews were from companies that contacted her after learning she was now available. She is a significant addition to any organization. YAY DD #1 !!!
And in the words of many here “Eff Intel”.

      • WMCB says:

Always interesting to me that 90% of the brainwashed out there always come across as being much more afraid of being called/perceived as racist than concerned with whether or not a person is actually racist.

        • 49erDweet says:

Yeah, they’re more skittish at being associated with the term than in analyzing its accuracy. One uttered, the term itself is apparently self-proving.

    • leslie says:

I know, right? He must think being called “racist” is somehow gonna be meaningful to me. I just knew if I came over here, I’d find that taw would’ve been as irate as I was.
I wanted to tell him I’d been called “racist” by far better people than he. And I’ve managed quite well, thank you very much.
Rob Reiner – What a turd. If name calling, and using the “racist card” is all he’s got, then he is in bigger trouble than he knows.

      • taw46 says:

Lol. And then he went off on the media for not asking Trump questions about his policies. Oh, he has talked about immigration, trade policies, jobs. Reiner just doesn’t like what he says. But it is much easier to call us racists, rather than talk about why people are voting for Trump.

  5. CiscoKid says:

Wouldn’t burn Mexican flag because I’d have to buy and that ain’t happening.
But I did put the American flag out today, so there!

I am so sick of celebs being given some sort of authority. A major film leaves a huge carbon footprint. All it does is entertain. What does it cost to provide air conditioning for a multi plex in June. Society is no better because of a film. Bono goes off about forgiving debt. He is worth 900 million. Adopt a village. Give them clean water. AND fuck off.

    • taw46 says:

They are hypocrites. I always say they have a right to express their opinions, but every time they do, they risk alienating half of their audience. And no celeb has ever influenced my politics.

    • driguana says:

Totally agree….maybe he could sink $90M into Clairton!

Do any of you have facebook that isn’t tied to you personally? I don’t have facebook or any of that stuff. There is a theme coming from the nevertrumpers that basically goes like this……The era of Reagan conservatism is dead…….boo hoo. I think we need to start pushing back on that kind of talk because it’s bullshit. The era of Bushism and globalism is dead that’s what the results of this primary means. Too many people have bastardized Reagan’s legacy.

Here is a copy of Regan’s brochure from 1980

I would love to post it here

I would love to post it there so maybe at least those reading the comments can see reality, but I don’t have facebook. Maybe I should just let it go, but all this pearl clutching pisses me off.

    • 49erDweet says:

I don’t think de-personalized FB exists, Somebody, except for businesses. I administer several sites, including a community org classified by FB as a biz, and my name is associated with them whenever I post.

Tow driver refuses car with Bernie sticker

Heads up, friends… Cass had a wreck in Asheville yesterday. She is fine, but the car was not driveable. We called our mechanic who was tied up in Easley at the time, so he sent ShupeeMax Towing to get her. Kenneth Shupee drove from Travelers Rest to Asheville, hooked up her car, and when he went around to the back, he came back and told her that he wouldn’t tow her because she had a Bernie sticker on the back of the car. HE LEFT HER ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE IN NC, and DROVE AWAY. Spread this bigot’s story far & wide. Btw, I’m guessing he’s a Trump supporter. The only difference is that the Don would have taken the money, because he at least realizes that liberals’ money spends just the same as anyone else’s. Dumb (expletive) cost himself money driving all the way to Asheville & back for nothing. (Expletive).

    • mothy67 says:

    • elliesmom says:

He’s just “principled”. She should admire that. Money isn’t important to him. If she’s a Bernie supporter. she should admire that, too. And he didn’t take a baseball bat to her windshield.

    • WMCB says:

If true, oh well. I thought the left was all on board with the shunning and punishing of people with unsavory political opinions, right? Or is that only THEM that’s allowed to do that?

    • WMCB says:

I mean, really, it sounds like “peaceful protest” to me. 😀

    • Venus says:

99% chance he asked how she planned to pay and she had no cash or credit card.
And THAT’S why he left her there.
Maybe the Bernie sticker mad him happy to do it, but no way do I believe what is written happened the way it is being told.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Yep. If you do not have AAA or the like, you need to have cash/credit. Many in this area do not even take credit cards.

However, most will tow you without cash up front if you are being towed to service station/dealership/mechanic. Those businesses will usually front you the money to cover the tow especially if you are a regular customer.

There are tons of accidents in this area every day so one gets use to the routine. Something does not add up. if she was in an accident, my experience is that if the car is not driveable the responders usually call the tow service. And if the car was not drivable, responders would have been involved. You need them to respond because you need the police report especially if the car cannot be driven. Does this person also lack car insurance?

      • blowme0bama says:

I dunno. I honestly believe if I had a tow truck business and someone had an Obama sticker on their vehicle, I’d probably tell them to get stuffed myself.

        • 49erDweet says:

Nah. You hook it up and tow it real fast on its drive wheels to burn out the tranny. That what a real tow driver does. I’m with it wasn’t the Bernie sticker on this one. More to the story.

I guess I’ll spruce up, clear out the cobwebs and put on a pot of coffee………screw that it’s Cinco de Mayo……..where’s the blender???? Margaritas coming right up!! I guess you guys will find me passed out in the corner. I don’t hold my liquor very well sorry, hope I don’t piss myself, LOL!

      Super catch Dora! Bravo.
This is why I almost exclusively get the news off of websites.
Not one word of Trump’s endorsements by the propaganda corps, media.
      But not surprising, eh?
I that list is pretty impressive., and anyone of them would be an asset to Trump’s administration
      Hell, even Clint.

I am so annoyed with Baltimore. My friend died. Cancer 47 years old. Knew it was coming as she was on hospice. My other friend was the rock. Her own son had been at Hopkins for a week with pneumonia. He had that fluid build up and they had to drain. On the phone she said I can handle it but damn I need a drink. We all play roles in life. She is rock I am inappropriate humor. I refer to her spawn as the Lannister children. Seriously her daughter is Tyrion Lannister. She loses au pairs weekly. They just leave in the middle of the night. So I knew she needed a chuckle. I sent her a Game of Thrones flask. Fucking Baltimore USPS says it will arrive tomorrow. I have free 2 day shipping. This is the 3rd time I sent her something and there has been a multiple day delay. I use Amazon prime all the time never a problem except Baltimore. I know it seems trite but the aim on Amazon is “guarenteed” two days. I am in Pittsburgh cannot hug my friend so I send her an asshole gift. She’ll know what it means.
I was weary of cankles trying to use Holly’s death for political gain. She was Marc’s sister. Born to an American GI and a Vietnamese prostitute. Adopted off the streets of Ho Chi Men or Saigon and raised a Jew on the Mainline. Cervical cancer. Sucks.

  15. DeniseVB says:

Here’s the red meat the NeverTrumps are chewing on now. I never thought Trump would be expected to finance a general election campaign, but, but, but, HE LIED !! Really?

    • WMCB says:

I’m fairly certain he said from the start that IF he won the nom he’d have to open it up for donations. Nothingburger.

      • DeniseVB says:

Hillary’s expected to have at least a billion, why would anyone expect Trump to match that with his personal money? He was forced to add a donation page to his website during the primary because people kept sending him money anyhow. 🙂

        • taw46 says:

I heard last night that Hillary will have 1.5 to 2 billion.

        • AFVet says:

Trump should have no problem raising that.

          • AFVet says:

I don’t think he wanted to risk other people’s money unless he secured the nomination.

          • Somebody says:

Hopefully the Trump campaign will reach out to we the people and ask for small donations so that his only “special interest” funding will be the people. If the Bernouts can keep Sanders flush with cash I think the Trumpsters can keep Trump rolling in the deep too.

Obviously there are some that can give the maximum, but there are a whole lot more of us that can’t. However, we can give smaller amounts and there are more of us! I would imagine most of here could throw a couple of bucks in the kitty. I’m betting the campaign is working on this and we’ll see an appeal soon. I know Trump doesn’t want to ask for money, but he’s going to have to and better it come pouring in through small donations than through big money donors.

    • taw46 says:

Denise, my Mother went to work for the airlines in the early 60’s, so we were able to fly on passes. And the food was incredible, although not as extravagant as what you saw in those photos. When we flew International, we were sometimes able to ride in First or Business, so that was even more elaborate than the domestic flights (2 big meals during the flight). The drinks flowed freely, you did not have to pay. Even coach had great food (and free booze). I did not go to work with the airlines until the late 70’s, but First Class meal service was still top notch. I was spoiled rotten. And yes, everyone dressed up. We had to, because we were flying on passes, had to do that even when passengers began flying in jeans, etc. You could always spot the pass riders. Sigh. Miss those days of fun and adventure.

I was asked today to tell someone they matter in lieu of flowers.
At first I thought my brat, but I am so busy trying to convince her she is a boy that being kind might confuse her(that’s a joke)
Anywho I would like to say in celebration of my friends life I hold you all in great esteem. A gun toting RN nurse in Texas, a railroad working retired mom of a bike mechanic, an asian mom with kid the younger and kid the college. Special Greg. A man with a wife going through hellish back surgery. Grandparents raising kids. I get tired fighting for survival. I will not give up on my brat, but I get tired. Somebody and Venus being direct. Diguanna and her passion for a story. Klowns mom. Lily. So many more I am a 49 year old gay man participating in raising a young girl. I am not PC. My choice to join my brat on her journey. I have enough cash I could travel. I’d be empty. Not going group think in a smallplace like Pittsburgh leaves me a pariah. Do not give a fuck. I go to all the elite shit because I have had museum membership for 30 years. My brat has no clue her dress for school pictures came from Vera Wang. Never met Vera but a friendvin her house sent me the dress. Stunning but she took capris to change after pics. We went to a recital and then to a private party. My imp was playing air hockey with Sydney Crosby. she has no idea who he is. He gets hounded for autographs and she is yelling bring it to him a few years ago we were doing a benefit for theater. We were stuffing envelopes. Morgan Fairchild came over. So nice. My brat was 5 no clue who she was. They do not run Flamingo Road on Disney Channel. She was so kind to a little girl. I am middle aged but I still get hung up on having an outhouse and a bucket by the door on winter nights. I question why I have a right to be in some places. My kid takes it all as a given. VIP box on opening day for her is normal. Her mom lives in a trailor. Her boyfriend is on disability they make 750 a month and they have two other kids. They are broken. No dreams save lottery. I tell Shay all the time when she is reluctant to do homework fine grow up and be a waitress. Funny as I was a waiter and bartender for 20 years. I had an education and I bought stuff. I always invested. I got very lucky. My temp agency uses only thing I ever did was allow my workers to take a job if offered. I started out with 6 employees. I had to hire peopleto run the office. Obamacare was a boon. Companies let go of non essential employees. Most of my work is cleaning. I have 90 restaurants that use mevonce a month to essentially scrub their place. I pretty much only use retirees. They work hard and just want extra cash. I make decent money but I think I am fair. Base is 12/hr. I do not charge for transportation. I get a call Macy’s has VL coming in tomorrow they want the place spotless. I arrange a price. I give them 20 old people that work hard. Most day labor places have punks that can’t get a job. Steal and work like shit. I have 26 RNs that are over 70 they love picking up a few bucks a month. I have 9 full time employees. I “forced” them all to set up 529 accounts. I knew to do this because when I was eleven my grandmother cleaned banks. I had to help her today some asshole would call it abuse.
I almost forgot Jadzia in the morning. I read here every am. Sometimes its just Jadzia love reading your across the pond insights
Anyhow this place is swell. Real people in a virtual world. Again I get so tired fighting for the pup. He knocked out his girlfriends front teeth he has been in jail 16 times since this started but family court allows him to keep going. He will never win. I will never give up on brat. She turns 10 in September PA law will then let her decide. Till then many thanks for being real people in a virtual world.

So anti-Trumps are freaking out that Trump “flip-flopped” on his tax plan. Per usual, I went to look at what he actually said. Per usual, he didn’t flip flop at all. He merely noted, when pressed on whether he could absolutely guarantee to do *exactly* what’s in his plan, that in the real world you often have to negotiate a bit.

    • lyn says:

For people who don’t like Trump, they sure are obsessed with him.

    • DeniseVB says:

Gov agencies who stay under budget are usually punished with budget cuts for the next fiscal year. So it’s that spend it all mentality that’s wasting a lot of money too. A good business brain could flesh out that problem and save yuuuuuge buckaroos. There’s so much more than cut or raise taxes to balancing budgets.

      • Somebody says:

That’s the truth DVB. My sister recently retired as a manager from a three letter agency. I remember a couple of years ago she felt slighted because her superiors didn’t recognize her “hard work”. According to sis, she had to work her ass off to spend tens of millions of dollars at the end of the fiscal year to avoid the budget being cut the following.

I’m totally not kidding my sister was offended that she wasn’t recognized for her efforts, not even an atta girl or a nice letter in her employment file……..oh the humanity. She went on and on with me about how I had no idea how difficult it was to spend THAT much money in under 30 days. (All I could think of was Brewster’s Millions except with our tax dollars) Why the poor dear worked overtime, spending in the wee hours and what not. The more she talked the more pissed I got. I’m pretty sure I chewed up half my tongue that day. The money was gone, she was doing her job and why start a family feud.

That mentality pervades in all the agencies, we definitely need a more business minded look at the budgeting and the contract bidding process. There are also so many opportunities to modernize, something most agencies resist because it threatens their jobs. Wouldn’t it be refreshing if some of our best business minds took on such a task? A way to give back, like Carl Ichan deep dives into x agency, Jack Welch another, etc. They could head up teams of volunteers to help them which should definitely include input from some of the current and retired rank and file civil servants. There are many within those agencies that know where a lot of waste is hidden. We could call them the budget busters or the fiscal responsibility corps or something like that. Volunteers though, that do it out of love of country.

        • DeniseVB says:

Yeah, “use it or lose it” mentality. Not with OUR money. I’d like to see a lot of those gov. agencies privatized, combined or gotten rid of altogether. And what’s with giving out bonuses? Never heard of that before. Back in the day, you got quality step increases in your paygrade for exemplary work ethics. I think it’s doable to de-bloat the government.

          • gracepmc says:

My first “government” job was a government contract let to a private fortune 500 company I worked for. Joint ventures overseas — 50% government investment, 50% private investors. I toodled off and handled it just like I handled JVs in the US. All proud because I had found some good ones and I had a “ton” of money left over. When I was informed I had to spend it all by a certain date or it wouldn’t be refunded I was gobsmacked. Totally. Ever since then I knew government spending was way out of control. This is how the government spends taxpayer money. Goes to show, if it’s not yours and you didn’t work for it, you don’t care how it’s spent, or taken care of, etc. One reason why socialism will never work.

          • swanspirit says:

Many years ago, when my daughter was working for what was then 1st National Bank, all the department’s competed in a program to save the bank money. Her department won, they saved the bank a million or so dollars ; and everyone in the dept got to participate in a run through a warehouse; where they threw empty boxes in their carts, but they got to keep the merchandise represented on the boxes. My daughter won TV’s, a microwave, all kinds of fabulous stuff.
Incentives to save money aren’t a new or radical concept. Bonuses could easily be based on saving money. That one change could probably save taxpayers billions, if not trillions.
No wonder Trump thinks people running the government are stupid.
I think they are a combination of stupid and greedy.

grace and swan – the thing that sticks in my craw most, the government contractors who hire RETIRED Generals and Admirals and pay them 6 digits to lobby for them, and they get to keep their lucrative military retirement benefits too. I think this is called double dipping. The retirement packages for retired politicians is even more wasteful. Unlike the military, more undeserved. This may end under a President Trump, no wonder he’s so hated, despised and NeverTrumped 😉

I’m not worried. I remember having a bad case of the sads when John Edwards suspended in 2008. Hills and Bronco were still in the running …. and fighting for his endorsement (Ugh, he picked Obama). I wasn’t on FB or Twitter yet, so I didn’t have the daily play-by-plays of the angst wars. This is all new to me and so much more fun 😀

    • DandyTIger says:

Not surprised. Luckily Trump is still doing rallies in the states remaining. Also, who on earth will vote for Cruz at this point?

    • CiscoKid says:

Well, he’s not called Lying Ted for nothing.

    • Somebody says:

Sorry Ann Coulter, but a crucifix and garlic just aren’t strong enough we’re going to need a stake through the heart.

Creepy Cruz enlists creepy conservative zombies to take over the GOP. My money is on Trump Smash.

      • Lulu says:

Good luck. Manafort already took over the bank accounts. And they enjoy sleeping on the sidewalks in Cleveland.

    • DeniseVB says:

I think it was Rush who said Politico is the GOPe’s go to site for “leaks”. So it made sense afterall. Kasich never did catch Rubio’s delegate count.

  30. DandyTIger says:

Paul Ryan just came out and said he can’t support Trump.

    • DeniseVB says:

Why don’t they all just go start a new party of Losers which is all they’ve done since 2008. The video AFVet posted above mentioned we’ve had the biggest GOP majority since the civil war and all they do is gift wrap all of Obama’s wishes.

      Burn it down!

  31. Dora says:

    Remember this? I do.

    • CiscoKid says:

Poor Cruz, he gets called Lying Ted. I consider Hillarys lie stolen valor from those who have actually been under fire.

  32. Dora says:

I can’t believe they are going so crazy over that taco bowl. This is hilarious! 🙂

Donald Trump Exposes Spasmodic Media – OMG Buzzfeed Aghast Trump Ate a Taco Bowl…

Donald Trump strikes again. Candidate Trump deliciously trolls the cultural Marxists within the media machine with a simple tweet over lunch on Cinco de Mayo when he shares a menu choice, a taco bowl.

  33. WMCB says:

    Tee hee!

  34. WMCB says:

More taco bowl stuff. Good piece in the link. How can these idiots not see the game Trump is playing?

  35. CiscoKid says:

Here’s something I snagged about Trumps proposed economic policies when he’s President.
Author has made great comparison between Trump and Hillary, economy wise.

  36. WMCB says:

It’s been true even when the side I *despised* was having a ball, and in hindsight, I shoulda known.

Anti-Trump group to hold call on possible third-party challenger

A group of anti-Donald Trump conservatives will hold a conference call Thursday evening to discuss the next step in its efforts to stop the presumptive GOP nominee including the possibility of launching a third-party candidate to run against him.

  38. WMCB says:

So this just now to Mr. “I’m not ready” to support Trump. Oh, dayum.

  39. Dora says:

    • lyn says:

LOL. Americans have been taking this shit for years, and the GOP elites don’t get to decide the nominee for one election and it’s the end of the world!

    • jeffhas says:

Please go join the Libertarian Party – let’s see how many TV gigs that gets you.

      • lyn says:

Even if Trump doesn’t win, this pathetic response by the GOP establishment and elites was worth it.

  40. Dora says:

Could he be thinking of Jim Webb?

  41. Dora says:

Good. Even if we don’t, we ought to at the very least threaten to. Stop kowtowing to these tinpot assholes.

Be still my heart. I wish he would withdraw us and kick the UN out of our country.

    • Dora says:

Oh wow! That’s something I have wanted to hear for the last 50 years. “Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US”. Remember that?

      Go Donald!

  47. WMCB says:

And now Issa is on board.

I just saw where our friend MOTUS had a blog post picked up by UK’s Daily Mail in 2011, and it was hysterical (giving advice to OWS) and the comments were brutal (MOTUS doesn’t understand the real problem).

How did this thread get so long, thank you all (and welcome WHD buddy grace). ❤

They didn’t get their butt kicked by Trump, they got their butt kicked by the VOTERS. And Jeb had to be one of the weakest most pathetic sniveling entitled candidates ever. Trump just said what everyone was already thinking.

      • leslie says:

I don’t think the establishment even thinks the voters exist, much less are persuaded by them/us.

  53. Somebody says:

You guys are not going to believe this. There is a band playing VERY loudly. It’s 10:30 on a school/work night, WTF? I figured it had to be the band across the street and I know he just kicked the old ones out and got new people, because none of the others could sing or keep time. The band playing now is good, damn good so on the one hand I hate to discourage practice when they sound good, on the other it’s a school/work night.

Finally I head out to ask them to quiet down because it’s so loud. It’s like my stereo is turned up damn near full blast, window rattling LOUD. Except it’s not coming from across the street. So I think OMG, now there are TWO garage bands??? I walk down the street, can’t find the source. I get in my car drive all over this section of the neighborhood, can’t find the source, WTF?

My husband says, it’s probably the mega church up the road. I’m like no, the church isn’t playing Prince, Journey, Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Boston, Seger, Stones, Beatles, Aerosmith, Frampton, on and on. Honey, honestly has it been that long since you’ve been to church? That’s not the kind of music they play. He says a lot of churches have bands now. Yes honey they do, but they play Christian rock, not classic rock or pop.

I’ll be damned if he isn’t right. A Mega church about a mile and half away from me is having a “revival”. I guess they think putting on a concert brings people to Jesus or something. I can’t imagine how loud it is over there based on how loud it is a mile and half away……must be like a mini Woodstock. Sheesh if this is going to be a regular outreach thing, I gotta move. Props to them that they at least are good, with really good singers…….but damn or I guess praise Jesus.

I’m just stunned a church is putting on a rock concert of rock music not Christian rock. I haven’t heard any preaching, maybe that was earlier or something??? Very odd.

    • leslie says:

That sucks. It’s at least a blessing the band is good. Can you call the PD and ask about noise ordinances and how to get the church to modulate their exuberance?

  54. WMCB says:

This is one of the Big Guns endorsements, with lotsa dough.
