The Donald: Charming as Fuck

So said the television news people ALL DAY LONG yesterday. I was in the car a lot, where I have (a free 90-day) subscription to SiriusXM radio (which I am sorely going to miss when it expires). To my regular audio diet of NPR, I’ve added CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News. They were breathless with anticipation from 8:00 am until Trump emerged from his meetings and gave the thumbs up. Then they spent the next several hours admiring his ability to control them. The word charming was thrown around A LOT with regard to Trump, his skills, and his appearances on their networks. It was CRAZY.

It reminded me a lot of the last 8 years and Obama, which I gave not one fuck about, because you reap what you sow, low-information vile progs, Clintonistas, and Bernouts. I hope you enjoy the next 8 years, bitches, because The Don is going to pwn you. Best. Election. Ever.

Not everyone was pleased, of course. Chicago’s own Chauncey DeVega, a self-styled “Cultural Critic,” had a verifiable MELTDOWN  that white limousine liberal Joan Walsh saw fit to publish in the pages of Salon. The “Indomitable” Mr. DeVega has fucking had it up to his cholo eyebrows with the axis of evil–white, male, Christian, and heterosexual–And he’s got some news for them.

These racists, bigots, nativists, bullies, and right-wing authoritarians are Trumpthuglicans. It is long overdue that that this rabble is described by the mainstream news media and political chattering classes with the scorn and disgust they have earned and deserve.

What’s more, he’s got some insights about The Don:

The corporate news media is complicit in allowing a proto-fascist to become the presumed presidential nominee of one of the United States’ two institutional political parties. In exchange for viewers and money, the corporate news media normalized and mainstreamed Donald Trump’s political poison into the American body politic. The Fourth Estate is supposed to be the guardian and watchdog of democracy; in the case of “Trumpmania” many of its members instead chose to be enablers and fans.

Methinks this spittle-flecked minor demon protests too much. He was cool with it when Obama was using the Charm-offensive for his proto-fascists ends. But, you know, when all you got is tropes, viewers will naturally turn out. And tropes are all this guy has:

Trump’s brand of gross antipathy towards Muslims, hostility to Hispanics and Latinos, anti-black racism, and declaration of war on “political correctness”—what is just a right-wing talking point dog whistle for disrespecting the human rights and dignity of anyone who is not white, male, Christian, and heterosexual—is the American right-wing’s playbook of the Culture War, Southern Strategy and Fox News-talk radio bubble of epistemic closure and disinformation brought to fruition with a faux populist bent.

The only folks fighting the Culture War are those signing on to this ridiculous bathroom bullshit. I predict a surge in the plumbing sector, which will oversee the creation of millions of individual bathrooms so people can avoid other people’s shit altogether. And America thus gets more individualized. WIN. We reject your togetherness!

As for the Southern Strategy: both sides have been playing at that game for a long time–well on 40 years. The most recent beneficiary of it is–can you guess it??? Hillary Clinton. So that schtick is played out and lazy, bro. Put this in your pipe and smoke it: Southerners are people too, bra.

Faux-populism? Muthah fuckah! We are about to show you what populism really is. You’ll be lucky if we don’t swarm the gawd-damn news rooms with pitchforks before heading off to Washington, DC.

Newsflash, bro: You’re going to lose. Your shrieking and excessive use of adjectives is not going to help your cause. It will help your opponents’ cause. It just gives them one more example of the freakshow that is the completely racialized hyperbole running through urban and academic settings. You folks will believe anything about anyone who is not like you, and your bag of tricks contains just one trick: to dehumanize them while shrieking about your own humanity. Stop the madness! You can’t win, not like this, because it does not compute. We’re all humans, duh.

You can’t win anyway, because while The Donald is charming the fuck out of nearly everyone, here’s the way the candidate on your side treats the press:

People don’t like to be insulted. This is a lesson the left needs to learn very badly. Unity by rope-off, shame, excoriation…these are failing strategies.

Fuck this shit. #GoTrump!

    Brilliant post, Lola!
“People don’t like to be insulted. This is a lesson the left needs to learn very badly.”
The Left never will learn the lesson.
What’s crazy about the bathroom thing is that such a small percentage of people are transgender. Why is it an issue? It makes the SJWs look insane.

    • leslie says:

” It makes the SJWs look insane.”
      Not a difficult job. imo

    • taw46 says:

Locker rooms. Never forget it includes locker rooms as well.

      • WMCB says:

That (showers) and kids is really my only concern – pervy men lying and using it to prey.

Almost NO ONE in this country really gives a shit if some tranny pees near them. I’ve run into one or two in the ladies myself that I was pretty sure weren’t ladies, but even Baptist old ladies calmly ignored and “pretended”. Nobody really cares about the “just wanna pee” part, despite all the shrieking.

THEY ARE FREAKING OUT OVER TRANS! No, idgit, they are worried about predator men using it as cover to get nekkid with 12 year olds, or some beglittered tramped-out psycho using it to flaunt “ACCEPT ME” right up in the face of kindergarteners. The actual “normal” trans are few and not that big a deal.

        • taw46 says:

That is true. Had this same conversation with Dem family members. Well, can’t call it conversation, because they kept yelling “Gays aren’t pedophiles”, “trans are already using restrooms”! Tried to point out no one is saying that. The concern is about predators using this as a pass to enter restrooms/locker rooms. And anyway, why do 97.7% have to change for 0.3% (according to CDC)? They don’t have to be dressed like females, we are now saying you can use which ever room you feel more comfortable with. So, if you want to enter women’s room dressed as a man, have at it. No one can question or stop you. If you are one of the 97.7% who feels uncomfortable, too bad.

          • blowme0bama says:

I think ” .3″ is overstated by quite a bit. Maybe .03. Three people out of every 1000 are transgendered, whatever that means? I doubt it. I’ve never knowingly met one.

          • taw46 says:

Yes, think you are right, .03 is what I usually see in articles for transgenders. And, comes from CDC.

    • leslie says:

Does this mean the person(s) involved can change their mind from one day to the next? This is absurd. Truly Kafka-esque.

    • elliesmom says:

If gender is “fluid”, then there’s no reason why someone couldn’t be male for football season and female for basketball season. I’m not sure why “feminists” don’t understand carried to its conclusion, this pretty much guts Title IX. If a test for chromosomes can no longer be used to determine gender, then there will no longer be women’s sports teams. Most guys I know would like Title IX to go away so if women still want a field hockey team, they better wake up. It’s not a huge leap to go from coed locker rooms to coed teams, and there aren’t very many professional female athletes who can beat an average guy playing a college level sport if strength and speed are important.

      • blowme0bama says:

Oh, I think that is right. Some snarky SoB basketball player who couldn’t make the men’s team should try that to prove the point.

      • DeniseVB says:

I’d much rather see women break into men’s sports, like on the front line of an NFL team, than front line infantry in a combat zone.

I had the tv news on watching split screens of the chattering heads and the door of the building Trump was in. Truly bizarre. Why am I watching a door? Fox Business is my new favorite channel for morning news because I just like the personalities better and less fluffy filler segments.

Those photos of Hillary being roped into her safe space never get old. Anyhoo ….. have a little Milo with your cuppa this morning…..

      That’s how politics works.

    • Somebody says:

I am sick and damn tired of the Paul Ryan crap. Fuck Paul Ryan, he and his ilk are the reason Trump won the nomination and they need to get a fucking clue. Ryan and his ilk are the ones that have sold out we the people to curry favor with the COC and international corporations.

If I were Trump I’d wear Paul Ryan’s refusal to endorse me as a badge of honor. Furthermore the last thing the Trump people should do is to roll over when it comes to the RNC. They played this game with Reagan and that led to the Bush dynasty and the era of globalism. Nope fuck a bunch of that, clean house.

One more thing I’m sick of hearing about is how conservative Paul Ryan supposedly is. I’m sick of the whole true conservative bullshit anyway, true conservative by what definition. Yesterday I finally got my answer, conservative as far as think tank and super pac ratings………never mind that those are run by the same globalist. I see said the blind man. Apparently we need to start a think tank so we can rate these assholes.

      • dm says:

I am so right there with you…Paul Ryan conservative? If there was ever any doubt, all one needs is look at that beautiful omni budget bullshit…gave Obama everything he wanted, including an increase for ex president’s expenditures. Matter of fact, I am sick to death of hearing about “conservative principles”…I am fiscally conservative, socially moderate which is probably where the majority of americans fall…these damn conservatives are exactly why we have had to endure dumbass Obama for the past 2 terms. Yeah, sit at home on your holier than thou conservative ass…go form your own party, or better yet, go form your own country…sorry, feeling a wee bit fired up today.

      • cynic says:

Thank you. You just wrote what I’ve been thinking for a very long time. Paul has a gift of speechifying, constantly brings up Jack Kemp, but when you look at his record, you see that it’s nothing but a bunch of hot air.

        • Nobody my age even remembers Jack Kemp anyway, except for Paul Ryan. If he’s planning some kind of nostalgia provoking campaign in future, he needs to get someone with a higher profile. Even with the boomers, the Medicare cohort is not constituency enough to win…

    • blowme0bama says:

How about fund his primary opponent instead.

      • Anthony says:

I might even move to WI for a few months to do just that.

If “The People” wanted what Ryan is selling, they would have nominated Jeb!™. We didn’t.

      • DandyTIger says:

Only problem is WI really didn’t like Trump, so I’m not sure it would be easy to beat him. A bit of an uphill battle. WI is really weird with super conservative neocons on the right and ultra liberals/socialists on the left. Apparently no one in the middle in cheese land.

        • WMCB says:

You get yer cheese and you got yer ‘holes, there. That’s it.

        • Somebody says:

Yep latest poll shows Ryan polling 85%, which is weird because a different poll had Nehlen leading Ryan by a couple of points.

Sarah Palin is coming to campaign, but I don’t know how popular she is considering the demographics of WI. From what I saw during the presidential primary the ticket to victory in WI seems to be local and state talk radio. Who knew people in WI were so into talk radio???

        • Venus says:

True BUT Trump won Ryan’s district.
So while overall WI didn’t go for Trump, those in Ryan’s district did.

          • Somebody says:

No Cruz won Paul Ryan’s congressional district with 51%, Trump only pulled 32%. Here are the official results from WI via the AP.

Trump did win Paul Ryan’s home county and home town, but the rest of the congressional district skewed to Cruz.

          • Venus says:

Awesome gotcha Somebody. I must have confused county with district in my memory of the WI results. Thanks.

          • Somebody says:

I didn’t really mean it as a gotcha. BTW you’re not the only one, lots of people have repeated that, it’s all over the internet.

I think it started out as Trump won Ryan’s hometown, which he did, then people added Trump won more than that he won the entire county, then somewhere along the way that morphed into Ryan’s congressional district and it’s been repeated over and over online.

Oh how I wish it were true that Trump won WI congressional district 1!!

          • Venus says:

            Punctuation matters.
            I meant:
Aah, gotcha. (As in “ah ha or I see — I got it or understand now).
            Not “awesome gotcha.”
Autocorrect didn’t help matters either. 🙂

Great post, Lola. I hope the charming Donald continues to smile and charm his way into “eff you”, and that the awful offensive shitposters continue to shock and awe their way into “eff you” until TPTB are well and truly scared to “divide and conquer” anymore.

I don’t actually like ugly, but the Left has had a monopoly on consequence-free ugly for far too long. Maybe getting a taste of their own win-at-all-costs medicine getting shoved right down their throats is needed to get them to return to the table of civility once again. But oh, you want to operate on no-rules total war footing? Fine, bitches, let’s roll, because we can do that as well. You choose.

Trump is no racist, or woman-hater, or bigot, or awful person – not in the slightest. What is making them insane is that he refuses to dance on cue and play their “Please. sir, who must I denounce next?” games over it all. DON’T. CARE.

The left and media keep demanding “Touch our shibboleths! Touch them!” And it has zippo to do with actual people or equality, it has to do with controlling the Narratives. Rigged game. Not gonna play.

And the Donald keeps saying, “Fuck that shit, go no time for it. Waste of energy. We need to fix America.” GOOD FOR HIM.

And the people cheer. GOOD FOR THEM.

      • WMCB says:

Matter of fact, we’ve long given them more leeway than private citizens because of their “special role”. But they’ve blown it.

They should have the EXACT same speech rights and protections as any Joe on the street corner. No more, no less. Libel someone? Sue their ass. I get told to shut up? You get told to shut up as well. No more special treatment.

“Still, Milbank said he wasn’t taking any chances and pre-gamed with a Pepcid AC and had a bottle of Pepto-Bismol on hand which was placed on the table next to two bottles of Trump wine.”

It reminds me of the time Tucker Carlson said he’d eat his shoe if Hillary’s book became a bestseller (Living History, it did, and it was pretty good, where’s that Hillary?)

She surprised him on set with a big ole shoe shaped cake.

  34. Dora says:

Why? That’s easy. It’s for the same reason he signed an order allowing men to go into the bathrooms of little girls. I wonder if he was drooling when he signed it. Sick man!!!

Why Does President Obama’s Twitter Account Follow Porn Stars?

    • lyn says:

The transgender bathroom stuff is one big squirrel, but bathrooms need to be secured.
CHICAGO (WLS) — A man is accused of choking an 8-year-old girl until she passed out in the bathroom of a restaurant in Chicago’s South Loop.
The girl was with her mother at the Jason’s Deli in the 1200-block of South Canal Street on May 7, police said. The girl went to the bathroom by herself around 1:15 p.m.
A short time later, her mother heard a scream. She went into the bathroom and found Reese Hartstirn, 33, carrying her unconscious daughter into a stall, police said. He had allegedly choked her with his hands.

      • DeniseVB says:

        Horrifying. A parent;s worse nightmare.

      • DeniseVB says:

They must have updated the story, mom was in the stall next to the girl. That’s even weirder. I’ve seen a lot of “bathroom pervs” in the news recently. Hmmm? I hope every incident becomes national news instead of a local story.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

I was a single dad with a young daughter. No way was I taking her into a men’s room to go potty, but I couldn’t go with her into the ladies room.

The family bathrooms at most malls have been a godsend for parents.

          • DeniseVB says:

GMTA. Ever since the NC bruhaha, I thought Family Bathrooms, under used and even at the Dallas airport, doubles as a tornado shelter 😉 Win-Win !

        • DeniseVB says:

Up to a certain age I dragged the boys in with me in the ladies rooms and we shared a handicapped stall, not once EVER displacing a handicapped person, so that was cool.

Not sure how old, but once the peeing with mommy phase wore off (4 or 5?) and I launched them into the Big Boys rooms, I stood outside that door like a lioness. I’d ask men going in to make sure my little dorks weren’t trashing the place.

For years, I’ve watched Family Restrooms pop up in public spaces (malls, airports, museums, amusement parks etc). They’re about the size of a cheap studio apt in nyc, so they probably hold a family of 6 comfortably. One potty, baby changing station, all the amenities of private home bathroom away from home. Why can’t they just slap a Trans ❤ sign on that entry door? They are rarely used and already paid for. And yes, I will use them if empty too.

          • taw46 says:

Because that doesn’t feed the narrative. And you will be made to accept and approve!

          • DeniseVB says:

Over at WHD, there’s also a lot of concern why Prezzy is so consumed with LGBT issues. His missive excludes private schools where his daughters are schooled. Of course, they’re excluded from MO’s healthy lunches nyc’s rats wouldn’t eat in public schools too.

          • taw46 says:

I don’t think they really care about LGBT issues, except as another way to control people and break down society. I see no other reason why they do the things they do. And as usual, all of these transformations from the lunches to this, will never affect the elites. Their lives/privileges will continue without any changes. Just like Section 8 housing will never move to their neighborhoods.
