Pro-Amnesty Kochs Try to ‘End The Divide’ After Primary Bounces Them from GOP

Koch Industries has released a new ad campaign calling for an end to “the divide” in America, signaling that the billionaire Koch brothers are retreating from their position as key underwriters of the Republican Party.
Koch Industries has come out with an ad, accompanied by the new website, that seeks to forge a national consensus around issues that the Kochs apparently feel no longer belong in Donald Trump’s Republican Party.

“We want to have an open conversation about removing barriers to opportunity and progress. Our aim is to replace America’s two-tiered, winner-take-all system with one free and open society where all can win” according to the website, which identifies “Removing Barriers” (criminal justice reform), “Promoting Fairness” (ending corporate welfare) and “Protecting Expression” as paramount issues.

The ad comes on the heels of a visible exit from the Republican Establishment by the Koch Brothers and their many paid operatives in the political advocacy business.

As Breitbart News first reported, the Koch Brothers’ “secret bank” in the D.C. Beltway decided to pull out of supporting the Republican candidate in the 2016 election after the field got narrowed down to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. The move followed Charles Koch’s condemnation of Trump’s temporary moratorium on Muslim migration to the United States, calling Trump’s proposals “reminiscent of Nazi Germany.”

Libertarian Party chairman Nicholas Sarwark then made an extended appeal at his party’s convention in Orlando to obtain Koch funding for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, saying that it’s time for the libertarian-leaning Koch Brothers to “come home.”

For a handful of years since the Citizens United decision, the Koch Brothers, financiers of advocacy groups including Americans For Prosperity, managed to monopolize the professional conservative movement, pushing for pro-immigration policies and criminal justice reform for drug offenders. Their influence on the movement allowed hostile mainstream media organizations to paint the tea party uprising as a corporate AstroTurf plot to benefit Koch financial interests. But the Republican electorate’s support for Trump in this primary season effectively knocked the Kochs’ agenda off the table in the presidential race.

I sense . . . butthurt.

Seriously though, DILLIGAF?

For years now the Koch Bros (Chuck and Dave) have been left-wing boogeymen that progs use to scare their kids. (“If you don’t eat your organic kale the Koch brothers will get you! There are kids starving in red states!”) I have always felt that the hysteria was overblown. The left never gets its collectivist panties in a wad about George Soros funding left-wing groups like BLM, now do they?

OTOH, in a perfect world the feelthy riche wouldn’t have so much influence over our daily lives. The Koch Bros have been big supporters of amnesty and massive immigration. A cynic might thing it had something to do with their desire to keep labor costs low in the Koch Bros Empire.

Apparently The Donald doesn’t want to dance to their tune, so they are taking their feelthy lucre and going elsewhere. Don’t let the door hit ya on the ass on the way out!

It would be nice if at least one party wasn’t addicted to corporate cash.

This sounds like a Bernie ad:

    • elliesmom says:

While the loss of their cash might hurt down ticket Republicans, the Koch brothers abstaining from helping Trump might help him more than hurt him. It will make it easier for him to point out Hillary’s corporate ownership. The Koch brothers have been the face of “evil billionaires who own the Republican party” for several elections. The Democrats won’t have them to kick around. It won’t stop them from trying, but it seems the brothers themselves want to deny association with Trump.

      • DeniseVB says:

Well, if even the Evil Kochs don’t like Trump, might make a few Dems go hmmmmm? I do hope the normal ones wake up and vote for what may be the last chance for America. Giving Hillary a mandate win to continue Obama’s horrific policies will certainly not be good.

  2. Myiq2xu™ says:

    So are illegal immigrants.

    • elliesmom says:

I can’t see this catching on for home use, but in a clothing factory or a wash and fold laundry where every item needs to be perfectly and uniformly pressed and folded, this could be valuable piece of equipment. Maybe it already is available commercially. When I worked in the sweater factory in college, “pack and fold” was a job. While fast was important, perfect was more important. The trick was getting all of the sizes folded into the exact same size package so a size small and a size extra-large were identical on the shelf. It took lots of practice.

  3. Myiq2xu™ says:

I’m sure this is a metaphor for something.

  4. jeffhas says:

I have no problem with criminal justice reform – the current system does add and create a cycle of poverty that simultaneously feeds and preys on the poor… From traffic tickets, sh*tty court ‘fees’, to drug incarceration to rape (just not a Stanford rape).

I’m also all for bridging the divide between rich and poor… But let’s not just focus on Corporate welfare – what about all Welfare? – How about Corporations work for their Welfare in addition to private citizens who cash in? Good corporations that want benefits should be hiring USCitizens, not H1B’s or illegals… And Infividuals on welfare need to pitch in too! – today’s jobs aren’t exactly chain-gang ma’am yak labor!!… But therin lies the rub, right?… Endless illegal and borderless immigration – stagnating salaries and sucking from the public welfare pool.

How do you bridge the divide if those on the bottom are better off on welfare or disability rather then compete with low cost legal and illegal immigrants?

This election is about immigration. Period. 100%.

Rewriting sh*tty trade deals is just frosting on the immigration cake.

… And yet we’re not talking about immigration and how it’s vampire-sucked the life out of the middle class and made 47% of the populace rationalize living on the dole in perpetuity.

TPTB (save for Trump) are talking about all sorts of bullsh*t except what the real problem is…. I didn’t always think this was the root issue, but it is undeniable by all the denial going on (racists, riots, temperament).

The people who are working their asses off supporting this sh*t are gettin’ tired of supporting this sh*t.

The only question now is between the 47% and the 1%, are there enough worker bees to overcome the 48% and change course now?…. ?

    Oh yeah… So NOW the Koch’s reveal themselves….? I hope karma is a b*tch brotherf*ckers.

    God I am Pi**ed!

    • lyn says:

      Great rant. I agree!

    • lyn says:

While they did not receive much attention when they were released last month, new projections from the Census Bureau show the enormous impact of immigration on the U.S. population. For the first time, the Bureau projected the future size of the immigrant (foreign-born) population and found that by 2023 immigrants will account for more than one in seven U.S. residents (51 million) — the largest share ever recorded in American history. Driven largely by legal immigration, not illegal immigration, the immigrant population will grow to nearly one in five U.S. residents (78 million) by 2060, the Bureau projects.1 The total U.S. population will grow to almost 417 million — 108 million more than in 2010.

    • Lulu says:

Hear! Hear! And what is with their teeth? Chiclets R Less? Those chompers are huge.

    • Constance says:

Immigration is a big drain on middle class families. When I was a young teen in the 1960s I started baby sitting in the summer ($ .50 an hour) picking berries, and working in peoples yards pulling weeds or taking in ironing also $ .50 an hour. It kept me out of trouble, taught me to jump at the chance to go to college and work my butt off for a degree, and I paid my clothing entertainment, and medical expenses from the time I was 13. This was expected in my neighborhood and all kids took these jobs. Now baby sitting, berry picking, yard work and domestic work is done by a permanent under class of illegals. Middle class families lose the help of kids who can pay their expenses. Kids don’t learn to work. Kids get into trouble from having too much time. Kids learn certain types of jobs are beneath them. I can’t imagine explaining to my parents that berry picking or baby sitting was beneath me.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

Illegals depress wages for adults too.

      • Jadzia says:

It’s the kids not learning to work thing that I think we’re all gonna regret. This is the part where I regale you all with my tale of childhood poverty.

I began working at age 13. I had 5 jobs and worked 15 hours a day. None of it legally. My jobs were doing things like child care, newspaper delivery, that kind of thing. We moved, we moved, we moved, but I always kept working.

I got my first “not-illegal” job at age 15, “canvassing” for some commie “save the water” organization. Basically, I got driven all over northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin (too young to drive) from 6pm to sometimes getting home as late as 2 in the morning after knocking on door after door to ask for money. Mornings I took college science classes, afternoons I was a Candy Striper at the hospital. School years were for fast-food and hotel-maid jobs (motel, really: I wasn’t klassy enough to get a job at a real hotel). Then off to college, where I never had fewer than 3 jobs at a time. And law school, same thing. Then Skadden Arps, where they work you like you’ve got 3 jobs at a time with them. And yu get the point.

And now I’m 45 fucking years old and I STILL have 3 jobs and a huge paper to write (ok, to defend).

But my kids? Four of them are excellent, awesome students. Unfortunately, none of them would know what do to with an ALLOWANCE, much less money they earned from somebody who is not Mom. My oldest in particular seems to be living at the top of Mount Entitlement to the point that I might have a little chuckle when my money finally runs out and he’s gotta actually put on some big-boy pants. But even the others: I worry about their transition into adulthood. How can you go to college, move into an apartment, if you’ve never learned to budget a small paycheck? Pay a little bill? Deal with people you can’t stand?

By clinging to my own ferocious work ethics, did I prevent my kids from developing their own? And if so, who is going to come in to do their jobs? I don’t think I’m gonna like the answer.

Just listened to press briefing with police and FBI. Terrorism, he is “not of this area”, checking to see if he is citizen, he has “leanings toward that ideologogy. Don’t know if it was lone wolf or international terrorism, looking into that, he was wearing an explosive device. Lots of if you see or saw something, tell us. They know more than they are saying, if you listened to them. There are approx 20 bodies inside, 42 people to hospital. Law personnel checking 4 devices.

      • Lulu says:

20 dead. Can’t clear it out because some kind of explosive devise found. Suspect male with Islamic “leanings”. Of course ISIS said terror during Ramadan so they weren’t blowing smoke.
If the apologists and appeasers want to blame Trump it isn’t going to work. It is too similar of the Paris nightclub attack which Trump didn’t cause either but France did let themselves be overrun with terrorists.

    • swanspirit says:

If they are certain so quickly that he is terrorist with ISIS leanings, he probably said so during hostage negotiations before they shot him. 20 people dead, 42 injured, so far ; this is beyond horrible.
But let’s let more illegal aliens refugees and Muslims into this country. I am just about in tears here.

    • Lulu says:

I get the feeling that the FBI, state and local police are in revolt against the censorship of information obtained by law enforcement ordered by the elites to protect Muslim radical sponsors such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, etc. I didn’t mention the current administration because they always come up with the excuse that it isn’t responsible to do so. The drill is to delay the truth until the furor dies down and less attention is therefore paid to it by the public. This time they are not doing it.

      • taw46 says:

From listening to the presser, sounds like they already had warnings from “chatter”. But didn’t warn citizens of Orlando. LE probably is pissed at censorship.

        • Lulu says:

Political correctness is much more important that the loss of life. Maybe a bunch of dead gays and their friends can help “disaffected” Muslims feel better about themselves. /s

    • Lulu says:

The spin they started on twit, etc is not going to work this time. I think that is why the FBI is getting it out there so fast. The FBI is mad at the WH over Hillary, Broncobama is almost out the door, and shit is getting real.

      • Somebody says:

Interesting thoughts Lulu. You’re probably correct about the FBI, no workplace violence, lone wolf bullshit excuses this time. Maybe Hillary knows about some obscure YouTube videos that might have caused this.

BTW we might here anti-gun cap with the left pointing out FL has liberal concealed carry laws. FYI for everyone in FL you’re not allowed to carry in a bar, no concealed carry with alcohol.

        • Lulu says:

The gun grabbers are all ready out in full force on comments on news sites. Of course guns are already outlawed in places serving alcohol in most states like a terrorist is going to follow a gun law.

          • taw46 says:

The gun grabbers were out on Twitter before the police/FBI had the press conference. And they were blaming Christians and Trump.

          • Lulu says:

Yes because Christians and Trump throw gay people (usually just suspected) from the top of buildings. Stupid bigoted asshole gun grabbers.

        • CiscoKid says:

Correct Somebody, alcohol and gunpowder don’t mix.
A responsible CCW holder won’t go out drinking while ‘carrying’
Among other things it impedes reaction time and judgment.
Liability and legally wise I’d say , like driving and drinking, not to smart.

    • Jadzia says:

It’s such bullshit that we have to read the foreign press to get basic information. The UK media is reporting the shooter’s name and hometown. (Like so many of our domestic terrorists over here, apparently your guy was native-born to immigrant parents.)

  11. Somebody says:

Odd if they wanted to make a statement that they didn’t target Orlando last week during Gay Days.

I’ve wondered what the left would do if Muslims started killing gays in the US. Who is more “worthy”, Muslims or gays? I’m guessing Muslims will take priority at this point since there’s not much left undone in the gay agenda. Even the transgender folks’ agenda is all but complete. So my prediction is the LGBT Democratic voters are about to get the same treatment as black people. “We’ve done enough for you to own your vote forever.”

      • Lulu says:

They are going through “victim” groups pretty fast so are now having to make them up. Now they are saying the shooter/bomber terrorist is an Afghan from St Lucie registered to vote as a Dem which is really kind of funny in a sicko way.

      • Jadzia says:

I thought about this too but came to a different conclusion! The gay community has lots of big political donors, and I think that the money will talk. And I can’t believe I live in a world that works this way.

Ok, something has changed now. When the FBI questioned, he said they will determine if it was hate crime or terrorism. That, combined with the imam, tells me the narrative has been changed since 7:00 am. Completely different now, I listened to both.

    • Lulu says:

Isn’t all terrorist murder a hate crime? Do they do it just for the hell of it? The parsing and twisting of logic is bizarre. Islamic terrorists “hate crime” on many, many groups that include almost everyone except their own sub-group. It should be approached as who they DON”T hate. I didn’t listen to the hate preacher Islamist because he is not a public official and had no damn business being 2 miles from the press conference. Asshole.

      • taw46 says:

The same FBI agent called it terrorism at 7:00, now throwing in “hate crime” BS? And having the imam talking about mass shootings, not radical Islam? Telling us not to jump to conclusions? Someone is trying to change the story, as they always do.

    • DandyTIger says:

Simple, real islamic terrorists acts like this one will hurt Hillary. So we’ll be pretending these are something else.

      • taw46 says:

Yep, because they are really walking it back now. And they knew who he was at 7:00 am, because the police said he was “not from this area”. Indication he was known to authorities. Now, it is we don’t know his reasons, have to investigate.

    Trump statement

Last night, our nation was attacked by a radical Islamic terrorist. It was the worst terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11, and the second of its kind in 6 months. My deepest sympathy and support goes out to the victims, the wounded, and their families.

In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words ‘Radical Islam’. For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words ‘Radical Islam’ she should get out of this race for the Presidency.

If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can’t afford to be politically correct anymore.

The terrorist, Omar Mir Saddique Mateen, is the son of an immigrant from Afghanistan who openly published his support for the Afghanistani Taliban and even tried to run for President of Afghanistan. According to Pew, 99% of people in Afghanistan support oppressive Sharia Law.

We admit more than 100,000 lifetime migrants from the Middle East each year. Since 9/11, hundreds of migrants and their children have been implicated in terrorism in the United States.

Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term – and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.

We need to protect all Americans, of all backgrounds and all beliefs, from Radical Islamic Terrorism – which has no place in an open and tolerant society. Radical Islam advocates hate for women, gays, Jews, Christians and all Americans. I am going to be a President for all Americans, and I am going to protect and defend all Americans. We are going to make America safe again and great again for everyone.
