Overnight Open Thread

So what’s up with Turkey? I take the afternoon off and the world goes crazy.

For the past few days it seems like every time I write a post it becomes obsolete within minutes.

Hopefully things will stay calm until tomorrow morning.

It appears that the Turkish military, much like #NeverTrump, badly overestimated their strength and popularity.

Welp. That’s the end of Turkey.

    • Lulu says:

The worse the “purge” the more likely another one is one the way. Erdogan has wrecked their economy, pissed off Russia and Syria to the point he had to kiss ass and backtrack, screwed up Turkey’s relationship with the EU members by trying to blackmail them, and won’t have photo-ops hugging the President of the US in six months. He is weakened politically and the crazier, more vicious he and he his cronies act, the deeper the pit he has dug for himself will get. He is corrupt, an incompetent, and plays with ISIS. Turkey is now destabilized. The media trying to spin for Obama’s Muslim brotherhood pal was shameful.

    • DeniseVB says:

Obama and Hillary support this guy ? Will the US media wake up to the fact that this guy jails journalists because it could be coming here?

(omitted) – “And if our Turkish allies need out help, we’ll spend a few hours figuring out which outfit they should wear on their mission so as not to offend the feelings of anyone who is fighting on either side, looks terrible in camouflage, or is triggered by immodestly fitting pants. Hopefully by that time, the crisis will have ended and I look forward to participating in the coming Congressional hearings on this matter”

The tweets were hilarious. They sounded like Bridezilla’s bitching about someone scheduling another party on their drunk-ass batchelorette party day. Hateful, self-obsessed, demanding of attention little nothing-burgers.

Uh. That is what Trump is advocating. They think maybe they should have done it first since they are so smart? Day late and a dollar short jackasses.

Especially since he represents the GOP base firmly rejecting the Bush Republicans ideology

    • Venus says:

Jeb! guaranteed — GUARANTEED! — that Trump would not be the nominee, either.

So I’m chalking this latest Jeb! prediction as another fail.

The GOP is no longer the House of Bush. The Bush neo-cons need to go join Hillary where they belong.

This “Failed Military Coup” In Turkey Is Just Another False Flag Attack By Turkish President Erdogan To Consolidate His Power And Create A Neo-Ottoman Islamic Super State

Something very strange is going on in Turkey. Kerry and Putin met earlier. The “coup” was virtually over before it began. It looks like it was an almost staged effort to make Erdogan look stronger. He is a dictator and yet the Obama administration supports him. Very strange goings-on. Very strange. Europe is in a complete downward spiral which makes it very vulnerable to being taken over by somebody or some movement. And what the hell is up with NATO? http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2016/04/turkey-does-erdogan-aim-islamic-state.html

    • DeniseVB says:

I thought it was strange when the Turkey news was breaking the other night, Kerry was asked about it. He basically had that deer in the headlights look when he answered I’m not aware of any problems…..? Our Secretary of State? Clueless as it was breaking live on international news? I was dumbstruck with his idiotic and confused response.

      • CiscoKid says:

Kerry was more worried about his bicycle not being repaired quick enough for the next race.

    • taw46 says:

What’s not to like for Obama? A dictator and a member of Muslim Brotherhood, who many say sees himself as the next Caliph. So sad for Turkey.

    • Lulu says:

The French anti-terrorism cops went in and nabbed his “estranged” wife. I guess she blabbed rather than being “deported” at 30,000 feet back to Tunisa. This shit is killing French tourism.

    • taw46 says:

Always, AFTER the atrocities, the European police go in and nab these people. Not before the slaughter. Why is that?

      • Lulu says:

The French police supposedly use losers like this guy as informants on the jihadis. The informants (and French police it must also be deduced) are so stupid the terrorist cells figure out who is tattling then make the tattletale do the terrorism them-self for being rats and to get into heaven and probably not to kill their family. How did the French never put this moron in prison or deport his scummy ass although he was a career criminal? Informant is good theory.

        • taw46 says:

I think you are right, because it is always reported that the police knew of these people and that they were on the watch list.

  31. taw46 says:

Someone posted an article about this the other day. These are the people the Obama administration defends. Western media hides this from the public. How much of this will Western civilization put up with?

“While many continue to use the eco-fascism label as a figure of speech to help illustrate the growing totalitarian menace of the modern green movement, it is no metaphor. Eco-fascism is rooted in history like a German oak tree.” http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2010/10/the_original_environazis.html

This is really a good overview of how Romanticism got to the authoritarian fascist bureaucracy it is today .
