This was really a great group. Trump gave them a nice nod during his speech. Of course, the audience was mostly “white” but we were surprised at how many “people of color” were in attendance…and enjoying themselves and having a great time. Lots of Spanish being spoken around us where we were. And lots of “younger” people…that’s to say, younger than us…..really though, quite a few 20-30 somethings around us…and also very vocal and having a great time. The security was awesome and you really felt safe.

Media on Twitter all over the fact that Mark Foley was at rally, sitting on stage behind Trump just like Mateen behind Hillary. Here we go, the new story.

I couldn’t help feel sorry for Mr. Foley when I read his interview. Some folks in the media should read it too. Instead, they are getting giddy about Foley being at the Trump rally last night.

Really good article, something I have been thinking about for some time, the impact that that the new tech giants are having on society. It isn’t necessarily good. They are are the source of some of our biggest problems.

Our antitrust laws have been neutered at the trade commission regulatory approval level since Reagan. Google, Facebook, broadcast / print media conglomorates could use a bit of old fashioned trust bustin’.

We went to the Trump event last night in Sunrise/Ft. Lauderdale. Neither of us had ever been to a presidential rally before. It was an amazing experience. Huge crowd…great speakers…wonderful people…well-controlled…and The Donald was very good. He brought along some goofy “statistics” signs that were actually very amusing and great props. One of them had a picture of him and Hillary on it and he commented that he told his staff to pick a very nice picture of Hillary. Great evening. This is not an election between the “lesser of two evils”…there is only one evil.

Great report ! I posted the live stream of your rally above to show you how the rest of us watched it 😉 I know being there is so much more exciting, especially that you are sharing the event with like minds. It’s a surreal experience. Thanks for sharing.

The really fascinating thing to us was the size of the crowd. As a city planner, I’m fairly good at estimating crowds and at 6:30 PM I guessed there were about 8-9,000 people already in the BB&T Center. Trump didn’t come out until a little after 8:30 or so and the arena was about 90-95% full, so there must have been been around 15,000 people as it holds 20,000. You have to scratch your head wondering how he can be so far behind in the polls. As I have said before, the only good “poll” is from Poland!
Mike Huckabee was also very good and very gracious and humorous.

        • DeniseVB says:

Huck is a fun speaker, that must have been a bonus for you. That’s a lot of people for Debbie Wasserman Schultz country (I think that’s her district?)

Really appreciate your report, driguana. The closest he’ll come to Chicago Could be Champaign or Springfield. Maybe he won’t bother with IL. So it s really fun reading yours and others’ accounts. ❤️

Google is trying to block this, so I hope the video is still there. It’s the same old, same old, but when put together it looks serious.

IS serious. These are neurological problems from that sinus thrombosis episode. Add that to the prizm glasses, the eye tracking problems.

Wanted to share one more observation from the Trump rally last night in Sunrise/Ft. Lauderdale. As far as we could tell, there were only three disruptions last night. One involved a large pink banner that was quickly dispensed with. The second ended with a short physical confrontation between two guys and the third was a bunch of young guys that were quickly hustled out. Prior to the event actually starting, there was a brief presentation on how to peacefully and fairly deal with disruptive demonstrators. They advised everyone to not touch another person but to point in the direction of the disruption and yell…”Trump Trump Trump”. It reminded me of the end of the remake of “Invasion of The Body Snatchers” when you think all is well but Donald Sutherland suddenly points to his former friend and opens his mouth screaming…quite effective. There were no incidents outside of the event and we all felt very safe goign back to our cars.
