The Myth Of Right-Wing Violence

These aren't Trump supporters

These aren’t Trump supporters

Here we go again. From the Clinton News Network:

Trump’s long dalliance with violent rhetoric
Beyond his own incendiary comments, he’s done little to mute loose talk of killing Clinton and Obama.

In May, the Secret Service investigated Donald Trump’s butler over a Facebook post saying that President Barack Obama “should be shot as an enemy agent.”

Secret Service agents also interviewed a Trump campaign adviser last month, after he said that Hillary Clinton “should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.”

In December, Trump himself appeared on the radio show of the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has warned that the federal government might round up gun owners “like Jews in Nazi Germany.”
And refrains of “hang the bitch” and “kill the bitch” have grown increasingly common at Trump rallies.

Even before Trump’s Tuesday remark that “Second Amendment people” might stop Hillary Clinton’s Supreme Court appointments, his associates and supporters had repeatedly called for violence against Clinton and Obama, while right-wing leaders and militia groups that support Trump speak of an armed response to federal gun control efforts.

Trump’s campaign said his Tuesday remark was merely a call for gun owners to unite against Clinton this fall. But outraged Democrats said Trump had, at a minimum, made a horribly ill-advised joke about mounting armed resistance to Clinton.

Some analysts said that, whatever Trump’s intended meaning, the comment was dangerous in a campaign already colored by violence, from assaults on protesters at Trump rallies to talk of rebellion and civil war among far-right Trump supporters.

The article goes on for several paragraphs in the same vein. Blah, blah, blobbity blah.

Meanwhile, 99% of the actual violence is committed by Leftists who are opposed to Trump. And their rhetoric is violent too.

But it’s different when they do it.

  5. Somebody says:

I attended a Trump rally and I heard not one person say “Kill the bitch” or “Hang the bitch”, not one single person said anything close to that. The crowd does chant “Lock her up”, which I’m personally not a fan of, but that was the extent of any refrains about Hillary.

As for the violence, OMFG there was a total of ONE Trump supporter that sucker punched a protester that’s it. However, there is plenty of evidence of protesters being violent against Trump supporters…..see San Jose as the best example.

Are the people that watch CNN that brain dead?? I’m having dinner with my step-niece from CA this evening she happens to be in town on business…….I hate to discuss politics with the CA part of the family, but maybe I can tip toe around the edges. The whole CA part of the family are flaming liberal and exclusive CNN watchers.

Each and every day until the 1st debate, the media will continue the attacks on Trump, with distortions of what he says, outright lies and smears.
I say until the 1st debate because that’s when Hillary will be exposed on national tv for the crooked lying fraud that she is.
This is why the media is in a feeding frenzy to take down Trump.
The myth of Hillary will be exposed, and the media which created, protected and sustains her will lose its last shred of credibility.

    • blowme0bama says:

Then they’ll proclaim her performance brilliant and cemented her historic role as the first female President.

    • lyn says:

No Republican willing to criticize Trump is too insignificant to merit coverage on CNN. When a minor Christie staffer announced on her personal Facebook that she’d be backing Hillary, she somehow merited a 1200 word story on CNN’s website and euphoric coverage on the air by Brooke Baldwin for “splitting with her party.”

So that’s the traditional media. But this new strand, where one cannot even search for alternative viewpoints amid technology companies who stand to benefit from the free-trade policies and eased immigration regulations of a Clinton presidency, represents a dangerous sea change. There’s absolutely no question the digital forums we use every day are censoring conservatives and favoring Clinton. You can’t simply scroll through photos on Instagram, look for a video game in the App Store or do a quick Google search without being fed anti-Trump and pro-Clinton propaganda.

    ABC online poll results-

    Donald Trump (70%, 40,152 Votes)
    Jill Stein (18%, 10,042 Votes)
    Gary Johnson (7%, 4,075 Votes)
    Hillary Clinton (5%, 2,715 Votes)
    Darrell Castle (0%, 140 Votes)
    Total Voters: 57,124

Of course, we all know ABC is such a pro-Trump site.

I got into it this morning with a young person who totally rejects the online polling at ABC and NBC that gives Trump a yuuuge lead. She says the results are bogus because it’s young people and old people who are going to put Hillary into office. Her explanation for the poll results are that young people would never see the poll at ABC or NBC because the two networks are past their prime, and old people don’t know how to use the internet. I don’t know if the first is true, but the second part is laughable. While a lot people over 85 might not be computer savvy still, the 65 to 85 group invented the personal computer, the internet, the video game, and the cell phone. None of my contemporary friends are afraid to use the internet. They bank, pay their bills, shop, keep in touch with each other, check up on the news, and blog themselves online. While there is nothing scientific about an online poll, a +65 for one of the candidates in a poll where you have to work at it to vote more than once is still significant.

My experience is that younger age groups are only better at a narrow set of tech skills. Most everything they know is limited by what the used in school (and now their smart phones). Every year we deal with graduate students doing supposed internships for organizations and contacting our little agencies assuming we will be more than willing to drop everything and do their research for them, put it all together in a nice report with graphics and forward for them to submit for their assignments.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

I have not commented on that explosion. It lit up my inner radar and my tin foil hat has been spinning ever since. It happened around midnight and given the extent of the damage raised my suspicions. Over 100 apartments have been demolished. That is a lot for a natural gas leak. It is usually more contained – unless it had help . At best, it seems that perhaps there were no CO monitors because any sizeable leak should have set them off. Also, if gas was leaking people should have reported getting sick.

And I can say from experience, if you call Washington Gas and say you smell something, they not only come out but turn the gas off to the building (all units) before examining. If it is a leak that is suspected the fire company also comes out. If it was reported by a neighbor and you are not at home you get a yellow notice on your door and have to contact them to have it turned back on and the pilot light relit in your unit.

When Obama was drawing crowds (by offering free concerts or beer & bratwurst) that was proof he had momentum. Then Sarah Palin started drawing crowds (with just her wit and charm) that was proof that white people are racist.

Now the official line is that the size of crowds prove nothing.

      • ecoast says:

Is there a way we can collect and compare crowd sizes for Trump and Hillary on a day-to-day basis? That I think will be the ultimate poll – especially when we compare numbers state by state.
