I checked the barn, saw Anthony still scheduled for Sunday, so put up a quickie! Let ‘er rip 🙂

    • Anthony says:

Been working against a deadline on a freelance design project – lost a week from that virus thingy and got behind the eight ball, but its finally finished and approved by client.

Post will be up by morning. Everything in the world will be done by morning. I’ll most likely be dead by noon. I will rise again at 2:30 to be fresh for The Crawdad Crew broadcast. Hope to see/hear you all there! Looking forward to it!

Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Mike’s having a good time. Also the trolls on this tweet are nasty little sh*theads. Does the CRT (official Soros supported Clinton response team) get paid by the tweet ? Obviously not for their debate skills 😉

    Happy Chaturday!!! 😀

We have some pretty classy protesters 🙂 Go Florida!

I loved Richard Pryor; his routine about the difference between black women and white women in dealing with their men was hilarious. Reading the comments, they were talking about some of the older movies like Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein…funny stuff. I just don’t find comedies today funny; must be a sign of old age.

      • lateblum says:

I’m with you, dm. “Comedies” like “Knocked Up” and “Hangover” and whatever else those Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen types write, required no thought or intelligence imo and leave me wondering where real humor is.

      • DeniseVB says:

Even Mel Brooks said Blazing Saddles couldn’t be made today. I don’t think Doris Day rom-coms could either. She was tooooo perfect 😉

    • AFVet says:

Not after the PC movement initiated by the progressives.

I think the media tides will turn after Labor Day, maybe the NeverTrumpers too. So much at stake this election. Hillary couldn’t manage her job at State, imagine how she would f**k up even more as President? What are her supporters thinking?

      • AFVet says:

        “What are her supporters thinking?”
        Mindless fools don’t think.
The people that are still supporting her have a definite inability to grasp the facts.
She is a crook, and so is her husband, and they have gotten away with breaking the law for years.

        Labor Day you say?
        I hope you’re right.

      • Constance says:

I don’t think the media will ever change sides to Trump this election. The thing is Hillary pays off the media in the normal way media expects with her massive advertising buys. Trump is not paying them off to the normal expected bribery level. If Trump wins without paying the media off with ad buys their whole format for profit is shot forever. Trump is also not paying off the Republican party officials and regulars to the usual level by keeping a small campaign staff the Republican powers that be are obviously pissed about that.

What a complete crock. And black violence and crimes against whites isn’t really violence and crime?

    • jeffhas says:

I get the ‘we’re brothers’ statement… Interesting how he equates to actual violence, but OK, bridge too far for me, but you’re allowed to have opinions….

…. But then to describe how a white guy in a black neighborhood would not get beat up because he’s white, “but they may rob you and take your money” like that is just expected behavior – of course they can take your money whitey….

Kinda debunks the whole ‘we are brothers’ speech he started chastising us white folk about…

What a loon, and shame on the other three panelists and the entire audience for not only going along with accepting robbery as OK, but most are actually laughing about how this was true, and valid behavior.

      …. And you wonder why???….

Just as long as all that money taken from the poor and desperate is going to the right place.

      • Propertius says:

If Bresch had actually invented the EpiPen, and thereby saved countless lives, I wouldn’t object to her $19 million annual salary.

Sheldon Kaplan, the poor schlub who actually *did* invent the EpiPen in the mid-1970s (when Bresch was in kindergarten), probably didn’t earn even a fraction of that in his entire career. He died in relative obscurity in 2009:

I hope he at least had a pension.

I guess he was just too dumb to pick a Senator for a father. Funny how that works. If he’d been smart, he could have dropped out of school and gotten a job as a lobbyist because his politician father called a pharmaceutical company CEO and demanded he be hired because he “really needs a job” (as happened to Bresch). He then could have gotten a degree a decade after dropping out because his then-Governor dad leaned on the university to “award” it to him even though he hadn’t seen the inside of a classroom in ten years (as also happened to Bresch). His lobbying efforts could have been so successful at stifling competition (Bresch was apparently personally responsible for the Medicare Part D provision that prohibits Medicare from negotiating the sort of drug price discounts that are routine for private insurers) that he could move seamlessly from lobbyist to CEO – at which point he could raise the annual CEO compensation from $2.5 million to $19 million while increasing the price on a 40 year-old drug that wasn’t even developed by Mylan by 500%.

Apparently, an EpiPen costs about $5 to construct (including the $1 worth of epinephrine it contains), but what’s a 12000% markup between friends (and cronies)?

And yet the Beltway Mafia wonders why Sanders and Trump did so well in the primaries.

        The mind boggles.

    • mothy67 says:

Bresch is getting death threats. Loads of security at HQ.

      • Propertius says:

Personally, I’d like to see her swinging from a lamppost, but I’m an old-fashioned kind of guy.

    • lurker says:

I doubt she will get the same treatment as martin shkreli.

Thinking about our earlier conversation started by Helen regarding funny movies, I realized the last funny movie I can remember having real belly laughs was Little Miss Sunshine…gotta love Grandpa and Super Freak!

    • Mothy67 says:

      I thought Bridesmaids was funny.

        • kanaughty says:

love it! i love that saturday night live style comedy though. the writers are good. i am weird because i crack up with anything will ferrel does. i love tina fey written stuff, amy polar stuff, and of course anything written by the office writers too. i don’t know if maybe that comedy style is more tongue in cheek, more british than american (smarter), but either way, i tend to love that style. it’s a lot of improv, so that might have a lot to do with it.

    • Constance says:

The new Ghostbusters was really funny. Spy was hilarious too.

  14. Kathy says:

Saw that movie several times..loved it.

  15. Dora says:

Rep. Steve King was on stage too. Remember him – the never/trumper? Guess he is coming around. Or maybe he wants to grab on to those coat tails.

  16. Myiq2xu™ says:

    Trump on Hillary:

“She thinks she’s above the law. The truth is, she lies. She’s unfit to serve in the oval office. The Clintons have had their time on the stage, but now it’s time to close that chapter in the history book and open a brand new beautiful chapter.”

    • AFVet says:

Well, she’ll be much more intelligent now.
Her security briefing was scheduled for this weekend.
      God help us.

    • CiscoKid says:

Saturday night. Gonna treat myself to a little sliver of pate, cheese ‘n crackers maybe a beer or some wine.
Put plate on coffee table in tv room and realize, damn, forgot the crackers.
Getting back I discover my cat, last seen sitting on Windows sill watching the world go by is now on table enjoying my last bit of pate.
Guess he’s not a cheese guy.
If I just hadn’t forgotten the crackers.
Well good thing I like cheese, that’s all he left me.
