Overnight Open Thread

I’m going over to Mom’s to watch the Giants-Cubbies game. She has surgery tomorrow so we won’t be doing tequila shots every time the Giants get a hit or turn a double play like we usually do.

I still have the goat, too.

  1. The Nats just scored three in the 7th to tie the Hated Dodgers. If the Nats win, the Hated Dodgers are done.

    • The old widow woman next door is voting for Trump too.

      • My mom has never talked about who she’s voting or voted for. She’s always said “Its a secret ballot.” This year she moved on with us, which puts her in a different state, so she had to register here.

We tried to get her a state ID and get her registered at the same time in early September. However, someone in Vital Statistics in the state where was born had scratched out her birthday and written in November 31, so Indiana wouldn’t take it. She had to go to court to get it officially corrected back in her home state. What she’s been willing to do to make sure she can cast this vote, and her vocal advocacy, have given me some hope during this trying time.

My best friends 90 YO mother is voting for Trump – hates Hillary. Her sisters, however, are very active in the Dem party and love her.

I have to laugh because her one sister has a rather imp. job at one of the LasVegas casinos. Hillary visited with a few of the employees, and there is a picture of her with her arm around one of them. The lady has the funniest look on her face. I laugh because in the edge of the picture is my friend’s sisters left boob. Saw the picture again yesterday.

My oldest son, the liberal Democrat, is voting for Donald Trump. He told my daughter just the other day. He cannot stomach Hillary.. He lives in Virginia. Things that are very unexpected are going to happen in this election.
My other two kids were already on board the Trump train. Family togetherness! It’s wonderful.

“Things that are very unexpected are going to happen in this election.”
Strange election cycle…..I see very few election signs, either national or local races. A few Hillary/Kaine, fewer Trump signs and this is in a Trump 20+ State. My 75 yo MIL has one of the few Trump signs in her yard. People are laying low. Also haven’t seen any bumper/car window stickers for either candidate.

I live in a city that is a democrat’s wet dream. I see HRC signs and stickers and so far no Trump anything. I also see signs for down ticket dem candidates and no down ticket republicans. BUT, the down ticket signs far outnumber those for HRC. And there are far fewer signs and stickers than in past years. I’ve lived here since 1977 and have been a true observer of the show of candidate support. Signage is dramatically down. People who are showing support for downticket Dems are not demonstrating support for the top. It is really different this year from the past. One yard had signs for the state rep, the Congressional rep, the democrat challenging Mark Kirk, and a Black Lives Matter sign but nothing for HRC.
I believe the HRC support is not quite what the Ds are hoping for here.

I only own one car, and I don want it damaged. Quite frankly, I am afraid to put a Trumper sticker on my car, for fear if vandalism or worse. Call me chicken, but there it is
And as I have been doing Airbnb all summer, I didn’t want to put a Trump sign in my yard, because I wasn’t sure how my guests would react. I also didn’t want it stolen, or my home targeted. Thanks Obama., and Hillary.
I hope all the people who feel as I do, get out and vote. It would be a landslide for Trump.

      • cynic says:

I just came home from taking DH to work (car issues), and discovered that the farmer, two houses down from us, has a huge homemade “HILLARY FOR PRISON” sign in his front yard, with flags atop the sign. He made it large enough that cars driving 55 can read it with ease!

    • kanaughty says:

How’s the signage where you are in indiana? I am in greenwood, johnson county and what i see are mostly trump/pence (and a couple of big ones by the middle school before the mall), johnson/weld, local stuff, and a couple of “fire pence” signs. I’ve only seen one hillary bumper sticker.

      • We’re practically neighbors. I live right across County Line Rd at Sherman. South sider for life, baby. We should get together for lunch or drinks sometime. Send me an email to peacocksandlilies@gmail.com with your cell # and I’ll call you. You can oogle my pepe shirt. LOL

I see plenty of trump signs around here, and in the donut areas around the center of the city. I even see a few up-city where I work. My office is a clan of Hillarista Mafiosos, though.

Lights might be on, no one home. Even the lights are dim, and flickering.

He is upset, because social media was used to stop kids who hijacked a metro bus, and were on their way to riot, during the Baltimore riots; with rocks, bottles ,and fence posts in their back packs.
Once more, he is upset because they were stopped, and compared this use of social media monitoring to 1984. John has gone bye bye.

Ha ha! I got a voter survey from Reince/the GOP today. I answered “yes” for “will you vote for Trump” question and “unsure” to the “will you vote R down ballot” one. On the space where it asked “What will influence you vote most this November” I wrote:

My vote for Trump is assured as it is from my enter family (parents, siblings & our voting age children). However, we are all questioning whether we will vote for Rs down ballot after the pathetic display we saw from Speaker Ryan et al over the “Trump Tape” — not anywhere as bad as Bill Clinton’s exploits in the oval office or Sen. McCain calling his wife a “C U Next Tuesday” in front of reporters — yet Ryan, et al disavowed, dis-invited, etc. Trump giving, yet again, more fodder to the MSM and the Clinton camp. As my 68 year old mother, who did not support Trump in the primary said: “I’m voting for Trump, but after that, I’m done. I’m embarrassed to be considered a Republican.” This, by the way, is the same woman who when she heard the “explosive” tapes said “Everyone knows men talk like that.” And now you have these so-called Republicans talking as if his words are the same as actual sexual assault? Where is the push back at this blatant lie, Reince? It seems to me that the GOP doesn’t care about us lowly voters, and are deliberately trying to sink the will of the voters who chose Trump as the nominee. And today I heard this same crowd crying that we can’t skip the down ballot because we need an R Congress to fight Hillary. Ha ha! Like you fought Obama? Get your house in order Reince — if you want an R Congress you’ll need to do better helping to ensue a Trump White House.

It seems to me that Congress impeaching a sitting president for perjury rather than for sexually assaulting a WH subordinate does more than normalize sexual assaults on women. Call me crazy, but looking the other way when senators, representatives, and presidents sexually harass women in every walk of life yet losing their collective minds when they hear “locker room talk” sends a message that I’m uncomfortable with . . .

    • Venus says:

People who want boys & girls literally sharing locker rooms in school are clutching their pearls over the word pussy
      Fuck them.

I linked this piece earlier, but here is the money excerpt:

The Billy Bush clip released on Friday was extremely crude and boastful, almost disgusting for the seeker of the presidency of the U.S., even though it was eleven years old. It was not as distasteful as the antics of a number of presidents, including JFK’s telling an intern to fellate one of his key aides in the White House swimming pool, and asking her to lie down in his official car so she would be invisible to the British prime minister (Harold MacMillan); Bill Clinton’s receiving oral sex in the Oval Office while ostensibly conducting government business on the telephone; or much of the routine conversation of Lyndon Johnson. Thomas Jefferson, who famously held the equality of all men to be “self-evident,” was so pleasured by his slave Sally Hemings that she bore him seven children. Van Buren’s vice president, Colonel Richard Mentor Johnson, lived with an octoroon slave woman as congressman and senator a five-minute walk from the slave market in Washington for 25 years. Presidents Grover Cleveland and Warren Harding sired children out of wedlock; the extramarital, pre-presidential affairs of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower almost broke up their marriages, which would have disqualified them for the presidency (and FDR revived the relationship in his third term). Teddy Kennedy was considered a serious candidate for president even after he drunkenly drove his car into a pond, drowning a female assistant, and left the scene of the accident. The Trump video from eleven years ago was tawdry and contemptible, as he has acknowledged, but has nothing to do with being president.

Some good background on one of many of these recent polls. Basically they’re complete BS designed to influence. Bad news, they tend to influence.

  16. Dora says:

I don’t know if this is true. The shocking thing to me is that it’s actually believable.

    • CiscoKid says:

I just don’t know, true or not.
But I do believe that the Mossad or any of its branches are watching this election.
Obama tried to influence Israels election, why not ours, especially after the Iran “deal”
